I hope Graham Hancock is aware that - despite the current resistance from contemporary academics entrenched in their citadels of authority - that he and his qualities as an outstanding researcher and human being are cherished by an increasingly growing community of individual thinkers all around the world. I sometimes wonder if he is reminding himself enough of that fact. The day will come where you will emerge on the other side of history!

    • @friendlyone2706
      @friendlyone2706 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

No, liberal arts majors who seldom got beyond freshman year "hard science'" classes possess a political forum to shout "How dare you question the science!" and those same shouters too often hold the purse strings and control the reputations of real scientists. Then add the natural desire of scientists -- being human -- to not want their past conclusions be wrong.
Scientists enjoy answers, discovering a datum, but ultimately know, the best answers are better questions.

Well, I think historians and archeologists pretty much nailed most going back to the early Bronze Age, that sounds old but that's the time of Minoans (Greeks before the Macedonian Trojan horse stuff), Hittites, Old Dynastic Egyptians and the Mesopotamians, that's going back roughly 2-3000 BC. But that's where you see the holes in their story. There is Greek Linear A, which was written before the Greek Dark age they still can't read (The Greek they can read is Linear B, developed after the Greek Dark age) and Egyptologists are a disaster on Egypts past, as well as Archeologists on Inca, which they all contribute to 1 society while there are clearly 3 building styles that seemed to have degraded over time. I'm a little disappointed about the vid though; I expected Uncharted to talk more about Egypt; stone vessels, the crude hieroglyphs that don't match up with the fine detailed precision work of the statues and Graham's reaction on THAT coz I never heard his opinion on it.... Instead we get Graham's usual story. Not that it ain't fascinating but I heard that one a number of times by now, so nothing new for me there

he wrote a book about an advanced civilization on Mars that was wiped out by a comet. do you think he really cares about that? he wrote a book about doing DMT and talking to "entities from other realms" and claims that these "beings" were responsible for the evolution of human consciousness. sounds legit.

What is being discussed here is very exciting. It's wonderful and as we grow up to can see that we are all One. Borders, race etc are man-made concepts. The idea of a separate self is of an imbalance of consciousness. Many are waking up to where many ancients knew. Raising consciousness to balance and Oneness. After reading it and nearly 20 years later, I can't stop consuming more and more information on ancient Egypt and question anything related to ancient human civilizations. I am currently into Greek mythology and that even led me to do astronomy and astrophotography which is now leading me to ancient Arabic and Persian study, thanks to the stars and constellations are either named Arabic or Greek.

Thank you both for this wonderful discussion.
I feel this dialogue is now taking us to the next step of learning from the ancients by what they recorded of their knowledge of those before them.
Be that the use of sound to levitate, vibrate, cut stone or the harnessing of energy be that electrical or otherwise. Let alone the potential of telepathy and other skills that we see in our own human existence today yet we treat such people that have unique skills as outcasts. Namely due to fear.
There's so much documentation now from both of your efforts that shows some previous civilization existed on this Earth. My interest now is in learning what a previous civilization knew so that we can improve how we currently live today.
I look forward to your further investigations to shed light on this path. Thank you both once again.

One reason GH should feel SOME allegiance to Britain is that Britain provided him with a free education, including university, and a stable society in which to grow and reap those benefits. Those benefits were paid for, and often invented, by the nation and the many generations of British citizens before.
Not saying that unalloyed patriotism (jingoism) is required but equally complete disregard for what a country has provided is not valid either. While Britain isn't as decent a society as others (Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland to name some near neighbors) it WAS something to have some pride/gratitude toward when GH was growing up (it's now a vile s-hole)

Perhaps the best GH words: "the engagement of the public with history depends a lot on mysteries."

46:00 and at other points throughout the video, you can really hear the jadedness and frustration in Graham's voice (not in a bad way). Excellent podcast Ben (and Graham).

I recall reading about the Younger Dryas in SciAm back in the 90s when it was an actual respectable publication when the Greenland and Vostok ice cores were first analyzed.

I separate out what I perceive as woo-woo in Graham's agenda but I respect his apparent honesty & integrity and particularly his ability to analyse archaeological data and to impart his valuable findings to us all. He is fully entitled to his opinions whether or not we agree with them.

Indiana Jones Hancock is the exception. This field of science is as bias as every other scientific field due to orthodoxy, monopoly, corruption, incompetence, human bias, etc.

Great policy more people should apply it when dealing with others.

Can you explain what woo woo is and what you think is Graham's agenda ?
