- Model Y drives me to the dentist! One critical intervention at a closed road (the exact kind of corner case we are trying to train)

Thanks for your video. I have the FREE FSD 30 day trial till June 9th and to me it is interesting what it can do. I will still hold off on buying this feature, because my driving does not justify really needing FSD. I only drive short trips around my town being retired at 75 years old, and all my trips are very easy to drive myself. I don't need FSD software to get me to my destinations.
I will wait and see what 12.4 and future versions do to FSD operations. Still I really don't know how FSD does/feels driving watching videos, unless experiencing it myself. Version 12.3.6 is not bad but seems too robotic to me. It is either too cautious, hesitates allot, or it is too assertive on its accelerations from intersections. I do not drive this erratic when I drive. I always keep one hand touching the steering wheel and have no problems with FSD for entire trip..
Anyway thanks for the video. take care.
Thanks for watching and for your comment! My father is your age and I recently found out he’s been using the software this whole time without putting in an address! That is of paramount importance!
@@donniccolo Don't understand your reply. My Tesla App shows that I have been GRANTED FSD for 30 days. My Tesla vehicle shows my name and the Tesla App and vehicle show my correct location address , so i don't know what else needs to done or missing. Take care.
what mount and camera are you using?
iPhone 15 Pro Max

@@donniccolothanks a lot. Looks sturdy and good.
@@babouin1977 My pleasure!
A very easy drive, but FSD continues to have problems:
4:18 FSD is clueless, cannot read ROAD CLOSED sign. *Disengagement*
6:50 Steering wheel doesn't move. FSD did not navigate around the garbage
10:54 Zero pedal driving in ICE: TACC system. works great!
11:38 100 million apartment dwellers will not drive EVs in 10 years
14:30 CooL! Gracie can recite Tesla Marketing Dept bullet points
Would Tom Petty trust a simple Level 2 FSD that makes frequent mistakes? Not a chance.
Would Tom Petty allow the Turn Signal Stalk to be removed from his Mercedes or Lexus? No way.
ChatGPT is very laggy on Mac Mini? That is not surprising. Use a powerful but affordable Windows PC: Ryzen 8 or 12 core, 64gb RAM, ultra-fast nvme SSD, NVidia graphics. Runs circles around any Mac.

I like you, Derrick! I bet if I said that I drink Pepsi, you would tell me why Coke is unambiguously better
I tell you I like Red and you tell me Blue is the only way to go
I go for the aisle seat and you would never be caught dead in anything other than the window seat.
Us contrarians need to stick together!
@@donniccolo Contrarian means I am disagreeing with you just for the sake of disagreement. But when I disagree, I have real reasons for my position or opinion. Please tell me where I am wrong, we can talk about it.
@@DerekDavis213 my guy I have been telling you - but it seems like you have a predetermined opinion that you are not willing to change.
I post a 30 minute long drive where the car is perfect for 29 minutes and 54 seconds and you choose the 6 seconds where it screws up without giving any credit.
It’s pretty disingenuous to not look at the entire drive 🤷🏻♂️🫤😀
@@donniccolo Nick, amigo, 29 minutes of success is *not* *good* *enough* if FSD ever hopes to reach Level 5 Full Autonomy.
As a human driver, I can drive every day for years without an accident. I'm sure you could too. THAT is the kind of proficiency that FSD needs if it will ever be *taken* *seriously* . Nobody wants to supervise a simple minded Level 2 beta software. Right?
@@DerekDavis213 my man, nobody is in disagreement about anything you stated, and we are working exactly toward making software better without sugarcoating the fact that it has limitations present day and makes mistakes.
But to not give credit when improvements have been made would be disingenuous and not very helpful to the engineers who need to know what improvements to make and where to focus.
How else, would we train?
Let’s not let perfect enemy of good!
Sidenote: as a tester and human being who drives, the software working perfectly for 29:56 of a 30:00 drive is totally worth it 👌🏽
Nice. But it’s really a fancy toy right? Not much added value. You arrive at the dentist either way.
Depends on how you define value?! I find it tremendously valuable!
That’s good. I just think I would have a hard time accepting life and death decisions made by a program but that’s we are headed. It would be more nerve racking to me.
@@rlshultz5841 it’s definitely nerve-racking from time to time and it takes some getting used to!
Nick, I am a loyal viewer and make a quality post, then you block or cens0r my messages? Bro that is not cooL.
I’ve blocked nothing my man! Not even sure how to do that 👊🏼
@@donniccolo Ok, maybe it was TH-cam algorithms. My apologies.
