really nice to make this kind of video about taking care for your Subaru fuel injectors, I really find it a great learning process to "fix-your-own-car" thing to me.
Great video and very helpful. This is my first time working on Subaru. Thanks. P.S. Don't forget to disconnect the negative battery cable. Safety first.
Nice job, to the point, very instructive, excellent camera work, defiantly pull fuse, release pressure by running and the disconnect ground. Thanks so much
This isn't a typical subaru engine this is a fa style which is different from the typical ej motor so this will not be exactly the same from other models
@@dojo3175 not really but there are a few vids around on the effects of having water in the tank will do to the engine if not dealt with asap. a bottle of doctor fuel arived by post yesterday so i will begin adding it next time i put some people in the tank and hope it makes things improve yeah
@@dojo3175 how do you know theres water and how did it get there. why not use the fuel pump to drain the tank. un do 2 fuel lines and catch it. jump the fuel pump fuse
Thanks for your awesome video. I have 2015 subaru out back with cylender #2 misfire, I already replaced all spark plug. But still have issue. Which side is injector #2 and should I just clean it or replaced it. Do u think it's better to replace all 4 injector? Thanks
what is the x shape large piece the injector connect to? I found greasing at the connection area. Want to know what that x shape large plastic piece is called. Thanks
Nice video, yeah my car has been jerking at low rpm under load, intake looks okay, so I'm thinking injectors. Just peaking in behind the covers, they look corroded even from the outside lol, but probably just really dirty. Can't imagine they're in great shape
Don't replace the fuse until everything is put back together. If you have the fuse in and turn the key on, it will pressurize the fuel system. You don't want that to happen (obviously) when you have the fuel rail disconnected or you will have a fountain.
Got inspired by the video for cleaning my 2010 forester injectors. Nowhere near the one on this video. No room at all on driver side. Many scratches on my knuckles. Could not get the rail out, but removed injectors and cleaned them. After putting them back on upside down while the rail still attached to the hose, driver side had a major leak. Now what? will try to take driver side off again. Hopefully this time I can get the rail out as well. SUBARU ENGINE SUCKS especially the driver side....
no able to disconnect that gas line after an hour of struggle.. the blue slides to the middle ok but need a third hand to remove it..perhaps it should have been a step before setting the block free
Hi, Great video. You state that the Subaru engines are opposed engines. This appears to be a common misconception out in the world. Subaru have never built opposed engines. For an engine to be classed as an opposed it needs to have two pistons in the same cylinder. Most opposed engines are in trucks or heavy machinery and are mostly two stroke.. Look up Kommer Knocker on you tube or wiki, there are good explanations and videos..Perhaps this might clear up the misconceptions. Porsche, Alfa Romeo, Ferrari Lamborghini and numerous other engines that are flat type of engines are also incorrectly labeled as opposed as well. Regards Gary

Great video! Thank you for keeping it super simple and keeping a modest pace so viewers do not have to pause and rewind video to learn the process.

Great info thanks for taking the time to make this video, finding info on Foresters is tough!
You might want to disconnect the battery when working with open fuel lines. Better yet remove the battery altogether.
Not necessary if he disconnected the fuel pump fuse. No fuel nearby to catch. Simply disconnected or even covering the battery would suffice

so it will be different on the 2008 outback yeah ? damn, will have to do more research ?
@@monogramadikt5971 Did you find some good info? My mom got water in her gas and I think I need to clean her fuel injectors

Great video, for my safety, i would disconnect the battery cable before removing the injector.
Whats the car going to start on its own?
The whole point of cranking it with the fuel pump off is to get rid of the fuel.
To be honest you are amazing all your videos make complete sense thank you for your help
Great video! Nearly identical process on my 2012 Subaru Forester
Po302 2006 Subaru sti. Cylinder 2 . Car runs great . Compression and leakdown check ok . Po302 is intermittent. Gonna check out the fuel injector
Not as easy on a WRX turbo. there is an extra coolant reservoir near the airbox and what appear to be some very difficult to move lines.
good stuff. I assume you put the fuse back in prior to restarting the car at the end. 😁😃

Is this considered a fuel induction service?

Are you talking about the intake manifold?
@@CoolStuffGuysLike yes. how hard to take it out? Thank you sir.
How to diagnose a bad fuel injector?
What fuse did you pull? From what my engine is showing mine should be inside my car....yours u pull from under the hood
Clear and Concise thank you

exactly what my forester does..hope you clea ed or replaced and bingo!
Is the fuel injector in the same location for all Subaru? I have a 2007 Subaru forester.
It should be very similar.
Thanks a lot !!!! Got the same Subaru , helped a lot . Thank you
So in what part of the process do we put the fuse back?

Protip maskin tape or electrical tape for the ring when working on car
How about just removing it?
And then...how do you clean them? Thanks for the vid :)
Hey what about if it’s seized ?

You say just remove the little blue c clip but you don't explain how that is done when you disconnect the rail from the hose.
Where is the exact loc. Of main fuel line of the rail?
Ha! Royally nice video. Good method of depressurizing the system.

Theres oil leaking from one of my crosstrek injector . Is that bad ?
That doesn't seem ideal...
Would it be too early for a change on a 2017 Subaru with 54000 miles
If it is running good, I wouldn't bother.
I used this video as a guide but DAMN it barley helped, the 2.5GT is set up slightly different making it a pain in the ass 😂
Great video! Thanks a lot!!
Great video
Thank you man!!!
