Thank you so much! I recently changed the spark plug for cylinder 1 and had no clue why I’d be getting a code for it 2 months later, going to avoid spending lots of time and money trying these out
Great video indeed, in SA they charge USD 180,00 for a new set of spark plug leads. So USD 50.00 for the ones installed in the video is a pretty good deal!
Thank you - very informative with so many ways to test. Would have been neat to check one other quick home test for wires, specifically if wire casing is damaged causing short. At dusk or in dark garage spray fine mist water on wires with car idling. It the wire is shorting or arching should see a spark at wire itself and/or a dip in rpms. Not sure how reliable but you def had a bad wire so would have been neat to see if shorting was obvious. Also good check if P0304 code seems to correspond with rainy weather.

Wish I saw this last year (P0301 and P0302}I've already gone through coil/wire/plug replacement with the dealer. I have my Fix at a Subir shop for a second opinion. The current thought is the fuel pump.
I put new plugs wires and coil pack in and the injectors are good and I still get a P0301 reading What do I do now? It still does not run good when I get a load on it
I am a retired electrical engineer. Through my whole career, if I needed to fault find with electricity, the multimeter was the most used. The oscilloscope was second. For this type of trouble shooting, a cheap Harbor freight multimeter will be sufficient.
I am having the same issue with a misfire P0301 Cylinder one. I did the beginning part and verify if there was something wrong with the motor unplugging the plug which it it changed the motor's idol So I believed it to be working correctly. I have tested everything you have stated and all seems in good working order. Check engine light came on yesterday with a P0301 code. So does that mean I only have to worry about cylinder 1 or should I check the other ones as well? Also this was probably one of the most helpful car fix TH-cam vids I’ve ever seen.
I have issues on cylinder 4. I have replaced plugs wires and coil pack. I have 238k miles. Maybe time for a new injector? Or maybe the wire harness that pluggs into side of coil pack is damaged?
My car is doing the exact same thing in this video I replaced my spark plus just not the wires yet I also changed the MAF sensor still misfiring all 4 cylinders please help.
If the injector test shows the correct resistance reading, is it still possible that the injector may be clogged and thus still not functioning as it should?
Probably won't see this since it's an older video but would the process be the same if you are only getting a misfire when the AC is on? My 2006 WRX runs great but within 5-10 min of running the AC I get a cylinder 4 misfire.
Thanks for this helpful video. Appreciate it. I got 2010 Forester N/A engine. Had new spark plugs and wires, clean mass air flow sensor, new air filter. but still have what i call it ""detontation" when press gentle on gas peddle only. It goes away i put gas 94 octane. Otherwise will happen if put 91 octane or less. Any suggestions pls ?

Valve not seating properly, and thus getting too hot, or an injector worn out and not providing enough fuel. Or carbon buildup. Id look at the injector first since its easiest. Get it out, clean it up or replace (usually requires ecu programming for calibration) and see what happens.
