When a Serial Killer Realizes He's Going Jail

  • 24th May, 2010. Bradford, England. A building care-taker sits reviewing CCTV footage as part of his regular duties. But this would not be any ordinary shift. On what would normally be a deserted corridor, a shadow appears just meters from the camera lens.
Approaching the camera with ill-deserved confidence and a sick grin, was a man of medium build with dark hair. He walks brazenly up to the camera, stares down the lens, raising the middle finger of his left hand, and tightly gripping a crossbow in his right.
But this wasn’t the man’s first encounter with serious crime. In fact, his reign of terror had begun almost twelve months earlier. This is the chilling story of the man who dubbed himself; The Crossbow Cannibal, who would leave an unknown number of bodies in his wake.

An important detail: the building didn’t typically have CCTV, but the building managers felt Stephen was ‘up to no good’ and so they installed it specifically in his hall facing his door. Edit: apologies, I missed it at 19:00

I just wanted to comment that what you said about heroin, about the craving never going away, 100% true. It opens a door that can never be closed. I've been clean since 2011 and got away from the lifestyle, got a good job, and make decent money. I still find my heart beat faster when I think about it, and the memory of how it feels, the whole ritual. That's as far as I get tho, I have worked too hard to get where I am after 15 years of addiction. The thought of making any effort to get it and all the years I'd be throwing away, is what stops me from actually doing it.
It never goes away, but you learn to keep the beast caged. I was on methadone from 19 - 38 years old. I'm 43 now and that saved my life. Anyone going through the cycle, just keep thinking of the reasons you value life, family, love, art; whatever it is that you need to cling to. Let it be your life raft and beacon of light to guide you

Oh yeah, and not only do I pay that cheater child support, but I don't even get visitation rights! For those outside of the us, if you're married and the wife cheats and gets pregnant, you're responsible for that kid! Or that might just be in Michigan!

Slight error towards the end - prostitution per se (receiving money for sexual services) is legal in the UK (except Northern Ireland); it is, however, illegal to solicit on the streets, receive money as a pimp, or run a brothel (where the girls might be safer, as you point out), among other things.

White collar crime vs violent murderers + cannibalism. Its a stretch for me, personally. Open sex n promiscuity from his mother, again vs cannibalism n murderers, I can see correlation off being exposed to his mother's behaviour and escalation to violent porn. It’s a trip hearing an American (narrator) say “chemist” “flat,” “going to the shops (instead of ‘going shopping’ or ‘going to the store),” and other UK-specific dialect vocab. If this script (obviously written Britain) were produced from consumption also in the states, it is always lexically localized and the vocab gets changed.

From semi-studying crime over my lifetime I've learned that past criminal convictions or lack of have nothing to do with being a violent predator. And in America at least saying someone's criminal history has anything to do with it is like saying men with brown hair will be violent criminals. There are more laws in America than any other country and almost everyone has had a speeding ticket or some other offense on record. What I'm saying is that if a person likes to speed they may have speeding tickets, drug users may have drug offenses and violent offenders will re-offend but people with past nonviolent offenses are no more likely to be violent than anyone else. Lots of people have broken the law but have never been caught and lots of very violent murderers have no previous criminal charges!! As much as we'd love to be able to lump all crimes into one pot we cannot but we can take our attention from nonviolent crimes and make violent crimes a much bigger priority. I'd much rather have the people who will actually hurt me and my loved ones behind bars than some annoying harmless drug user.

Whether you approve of it or not, legalizing AND regulating prostitution will save thousands of lives. In order for it to be safe they need to be working in a brothel or doing outcalls through clients that have been fully vetted by a service.

Legalizing prostitution will never end violence. Will only skyrocket drug abuse/overdose/trafficking, sexually transmitted diseases, human trafficking including of children, more violence and murder. If the government really wanted to help sex workers why not offer a good/reliable drug rehab program, plus housing security and career/school orientation, along with legal help. Sex workers don’t work on the streets for pleasure.

    • @deevasquez1171

I think the point is that legalising it would take away the negative stigma, and would also stop a lot of women meeting men in secluded areas out of fear of being caught, for example if it was legal they are more likely to let people know who they are meeting, where and when, they’ll be able to meet clients in the daytime in public areas which is much safer, they would also be confident in reporting violent clients to the police without themselves getting in trouble for engaging in the crime of prostitution, legalising would definitely help, but I agree that dealing with the root cause like mental health, drugs etc would be more productive

My sister had the same problem; she was not drugs; she could hv gotten murder many times, but someone always around to saved her; the grief of my parents was a lot, and their prayers keep her from being murder, but she died of AIDS at 36.
His mother wasn't a good role model for him, and didn't take the steps to help him knowing he had a problem.
He became a monster by feeding his mind on evil things. The law is spiritual but we are carnal sold under sin; for the good we ought to do we do not, but the evil we do. This is why; if he had feed his mind on things that are spiritual he wouldn't hv fallen into the devil snare, and became a brutall murdered to these women. His sentencing may look fear, but why should he get the chance to live after brutally murdering these women? The question remains in the minds of views.
My view... could it be God give him a second chance? I heard of people that got lifetime, and turned to God, but the sad thing is did these women get that chance?

@@MaxDowney Prostitutes will Always be fringe member of the society, tell me frankly do any politician, or respectable member of society or people belonging to rich family are going to allow their daughter to join the disgusting profession of Prostitution??? the answer is hell no, I am damn sure even you not going to allow your sister to be a prostitute, the fact is only vulnerable girls are going to join this disgusting profession, therefore the best solution to this problem is educate girl from young age about drug use, because addiction leads many girls to prostitution, and secondly governments must provide self defense training to girls, so that they can defend themselves against perverts this is a much better solution.

(as someone whos been on methadone for years )
I wouldn't really say methadone is a heroin SUBSTITUTE per se.. altho i can see that being a description for ppl who never been thru it, for sure
Its called a "maintenance drug" technically
    Its an opiate blocker
If you take it without being on opiates, it will make you very sick lol
Anyway......loved your video, i just had to say my lil 2 cents about it , since there still is soo much stigma around all "maintenance drugs"
Also , it is a prescription as well.

And still it's gonna affect you differently in a way you're not high & sick feeling no matter what, or only high for a short time while it's working against the H
When I was on 110 mg I had to use over 3 grams to feel anything ...that was in the beginning, not rdy to let go of shit
But me, and most ppl, realize, why am I paying for both of these? When both are a waste taking them like this
So they'll either work the program or leave 🤷‍♀️
Of course there are ppl who will test that, if it does block, how much you gotta do to get past it, etc
There's not 1 thing that will work for everybody
      Methadone is not for everyone
Maintenance drugs are not for everyone
But they do save the lives of the ppl who actually work the program and want the help, it can assist you putting your life back together in your own time
Now I'm on 24 mgs and I know if I tried to use again, just on this lil bit, that it would block it quite a bit
Even when I haven't used in years
Because when you start out , you have to start around 30 , and I was still using when I started
And had to use , still, a very high amount to counteract that
Again, there's enough ppl that get actual help & their life back from methadone, that I support it 1000%

Legalize drugs (as they used to be for all of human history) and none of this would have happened. Well it would have happened to other people i guess. Pure, unadulterated, measured "Heroin" (Bayer’s trade name for diacetylmorphine) was sold OTC for over 20 years without any "epidemics". People were just more responsible back then I guess, or they had a more honest media.
