  • The case we are about to present to you is not the faint-hearted. A tragic case of neglect and cruelty of children by the two people in the world that they should have been able to rely on; Their parents. Shane and Crystal Robertson kept their children living like animals, trapped in a never-ending cycle of dirty, grime and abuse. Some people do not deserve children.

So, if I understood this correctly, towards the end, the kids were eventually removed from foster care and released into the care of other "family members." Which makes me ask, where were these family members before all this happened or while all this was happening, why didn't any of these family members intervene on behalf of the kids earlier? And if these family members all just looked the other way the whole time the abuse was going on, are they really going to offer these children a more stable and caring environment?

Exactly my thoughts. Plus, I know that a lot families have a similar mindset... Who's to say that these family members won't also abuse these poor children. Just sickening. They'd be better off with elsewhere in my opinion.

Maybe the rest of the family didn't even know how many children there were , extended family? Who knows . I hope that someone did a really good job checking on all of them and definitely checking on the kids well-being on regular basis 🙏🙏🙏

Like I just replied to someone else, not all families are close like that or live in close proximity to one another to go and check in on them; perhaps they live(d) out of state.

it’s possible that they are extended family or just were not in regular context… i can see how, if you lived far away, barely talked, and family reunions aren’t a thing, you could easily know barely anything about a relative’s life, especially if they don’t share. one can hope…

Many. In my case, I am told that America has no agency legally obligated to protect children from harm even when they know that harm is imminent. Supreme Court has to tell citizens each year that they have no case to sue police for not protecting their children. Police are not legally obligated to do their jobs. Research it yourself and you will learn the truth.

@@RainbeauxHarcus We have child protective services in America but they're overloaded with cases. Still they're obligated to investigate any claim of child neglect or abuse. My friend's husband had his friend staying with them and they had to ask him to leave. As revenge he called and made an anonymous claim of abuse so they investigated the crap out of her husband. He claimed the he had molested her daughter so she had to move out of the house for about a month until they determined it was unfounded. Myself and her other friends were all interviewed. The daughter is an adult now and says her dad never hurt her.

I have my two oldest grandkids living with me due to similar circumstances. My daughter cut me out of her life because her husband and I don't get along. I had no clue how they were living and being treated until CPS called me one day after they'd all been taken. These need lots of care, love and understanding to cope and hopefully one day put the past in the past. I hope all of these kids find people who can give that to them. Such a sad situation.

My children were kidnapped in a violent home invasion on November 28, 2017 and responding police officer Hatle said that my three minor children were not worth the cost of calling in back up because they were being held captive by over 20 people! I had my children and everything I owned stolen that day and I have NEVER seen nor heard from my children. Idk where they are today and no one cares.

I broke my tailbone on the sidewalk in the middle of winter, and there were a bunch of people around walking around, and nobody did a thing while i was on my back gasping for about 20 minutes. Nobody even asked if i was ok. So i can imagine people continuously ignoring children suffering if they can ignore someone being very obviously injured in public. People suck and the ones who never called the police before should be held accountable. The judge should be investigated if he can dismiss that stuff so easily

This is a distasteful case. The cruel neglect of the children makes my stomach churn in discomfort. Although they are children who have a bright future ahead of them, their future is still looking very dark. The parents are awful, it's not a big deal if they don't have much money. They could work hard and provide for their children with a life they've never had! Can you imagine trying to make your own children stop eating when they depend on it for survival? Children are entitled to parents, but some parents do not have the right to have children.

No one ever questioned them about anything?? This video didn’t mention either of them working so how’d they pay rent, afford a vehicle?? Let me guess…S.S.I.??? 🙄 Come on !!!

So two problems I have with this video: One is the title. Why does it only refer to Crystal, when it should clearly be called "The Evil Case of Shane and Crystal Robertson"?!?
Secondly, you list the sex of the children at 6:43, which turns out to be six girls and one boy, and then at 24:44 you say "two of the youngest boys... can we at least try and get the facts correct, please?

My birth mother was severely developmentally delayed, and I was raised in a house like this until i was about 5 yrs old--no food (or old, spoiled food crawling with roaches), holes in the wall to the outside where bugs came in and crawled onto me as i slept, sexually abused by strangers, etc. I was taken away when i started kindergarten, brought into a home of religious cultists determined to cure me of my 'inherent evils'. Even though i now had access to food and electricity, I cried all the time to go back to my first home because as bad as it was, I wasn't being abused on PURPOSE with my birth mother--she could be kind and loving in a way my adoptive parents never wanted to. I was a 'project' for saving--but since i left the cult, i'm no longer included in the family.
Adoption rarely fixes anything--the best thing you can do for any child is PAY ATTENTION to behaviours/warning signs of specific abuses and be the best friend/neighbor/teacher/aunt you can be tangentially. Set an example, be patient and understanding of kids who smell bad/look filthy rather than mocking or criticising the parents, give them answers and information to help them help themselves as they age. And BE WARY of extreme religious people--the ones whose children seem 'so obedient and well-behaved' or 'so mature for their age'... those kids often live thru unspeakable cruelty designed to break, shame, and mentally incapacitate them from developing the capacity for independence.

Basically, a Jury might not convict on (say) fifteen charges, but there’s loads of undeniable evidence for eight of them, so the court goes for those eight to make sure that the conclusions that are reached by the jury are definitive?

I took my kids to school and went to work everyday but it seemed those kids never left.. i remember seeing them for the free breakfasts.. they may have been a different family but it has always seemed to be the same family I saw.. I never saw teenage girls tho.. only a bunch of younger kids... to this day I think about those kids.. sometimes social services will help someone pay for a room or get them put in a room so I always just thought the state put them there.. the kids were dirty af and had rotten teeth, dressed in dirty clothes etc... i also noticed they were staying in the 2nd floor which was said to be where the hustlers, "pimps" and addicts were roomed... that motel was raided not long after I left there and is now a different motel.. I can only hope it was these kids I saw at that time, and that they're safe now... as soon as I read the article I said to my kids father, remember those kids at the motel.. I think this is them! It's imperative that our country need to make laws with heavier penalties for child abuse. I seen a few cases of this magnitude when I was in a Child Welfare and CPS. One particular family I saw had several young children. One child, who is 11, had to be sent to a state mental hospital because he was deemed "wild". The other children weren't walking or speaking if at all and they were about 4, 5, and 6. It was like seeing a realife Nell from the movie. The 16 year old was so malnourished he was checked into a children's hospital for four months. Our country doesn't respect or values children nor their rights. I heard so many parents in CW and CPS (and when I was a teacher) parents saying "Well they're my children and I'll do whatever the hell I want! No government's going to tell me how to raise my children" or "hey my parents used the belt on me. If it was good enough for me, it's good enough my children". Speaking as though they were possessions. I'm now an EMT. I can tell you the truth not much has changed being in a couple different job positions working with children and families. The only way that's going to change is we need to have a better system on keeping track of children. We need a nationwide system for child welfare and CPS. Too many families can take off when social services sniff around and go to the next state. That's what they do. They will also go state-to-state. They'll take them out of schools until the ultimately just keep them at home. The isolate the children so nobody sees them. Therefore nobody can know they are there. The family that I seen on that case, the children were never at school, never saw a doctor or dentist ever. Most people didn't even know they existed. It wasn't until they (family services) start getting complaints about hearing children running around in the middle of the night. After a few calls from that, it began to unravel in that case. If you or anyone else ever sees anything that concerns you. Please call! Even if it doesn't work the first time just continue to do it. Sometimes the laws only allow state to do so much until they have enough evidence. Only police as far as I know where I live can only do emergency removals not CPS. So don't be shy don't hesitate document , document and call, call, call! Make it a record. You never know. One of the biggest child abuse cases in the citys history I live in. The parents got some serious time in prison and are still there. But it was in a nice home. In a nice neighborhood. The neighbors had no idea what was going on not a clue. The police responded to some noise complaints and due to a mart police woman she was able to find the children who were chained to the toilet. So just keep your eye open and be vigilant.
