1:47 I've noticed this as well, but it was made more apparent during the last Panel from Hell. Minthara whom works for Orin was being punished by Ketheric. So both they, and their underlings will cross back and forth to work with each other, but are still subject to punishment by one who does not directly control them. 🤔
@@spellandshield What I imagine will happen is that we will either talk our way into getting her out, or slaughter our way to getting her out. Either way she is supposed to be our potential comrade, and the only one that I have seen for the evil side so far. I don't count the ogres from the blighted village since they can be recruited by you either as a good or a bad person. 👍
Ooh i saw it, can't wait to ally with him. I suppose he wants to rule Baldur's Gate, maybe i could marry him and rule the city together pffffpfpfpjskdhdsjkhjajaj (making weird funny noises) 🤣
I like this theory and it is not impossible but I think being on the side of the Absolute would probably make it impossible to turn someone though we will have to see what happens to Minthara. so I may be wrong. Love your theory videos!
That could be due to being raised by a devil. Unlike the chaotic evil demons, devils are supposed to be lawful evil (this is why they deal in contracts and war against demons).
An excellent theory as always. Allow me to throw my two cents in as well. I could definitely see Enver Gortash being a recuritable companion in a normal playthrough. However, you seem quick to dismiss Oren as a recruitable companion. Perhaps in a normal Tav playthrough you offer nothing of interest to her.. But perhaps a certain dark urge playthrough will yield different results from her. There's potential there I believe.
Same as always, thanks for entertaining all of us during EA and the days before release. I hope your channel won't sink into abyss after release and am looking forward to your possibile plans after release. Praised be thy algorythm!
The fact that this might be a possibility is just mind blowing. They did say that there are a lot of secrets still for us to find out and yeah, this will change the a lot
I'll be happy if Noober joins the club. He will be the balance for me to stop play Baldurs gate at night. Without him, I will die from sleep deprivation.
Larian deserve credit for how much MORE this reminds me of Dragon Age Origins than it does Divinity series. At the beginning of EA I had some concerns, those concerns are long gone.
This has led me to wonder if there are multiple "evil" endings in which you help one of the avatars against the other 2, rather than helping the Absolute as a whole.
One of the trailers showed us finding her in the city of Baldur's Gate so if you don't Thunderwave her off a cliff I'd say you can at least meet her again
Hi S&S! I think you're right about Gortash, considering what happened with Lucious Malfoy, who is played by Jason Isaacs also. I hope you're right, because I'm totally going to do my best to have my character romance Gortash!❤
I should note that Cas (Fextra) did say he was speculating that there will be other companions and that it wasn't confirmed but he did provide some compelling arguments. I believe we will have quite a few other companions but I suspect most will be shorter term (like Us on the Nautaloid ship) On Orrin we also know she's a shapeshifter as well as one of the recent reveals indicated that she may take the form of someone in your camp. Personally I wonder what sort of shapeshifter she is. While most likely just a Changeling, her description does also support her being one of the last Malaugrym, which would explain how the Cult of the Absolute are using Shadow Magic on the Illithid tadpoles. Essentially the same theory for why some people think the Shadovar are involved in some way, but without introducing another party to the plot. Or possibly one of the Dopplegangers who survived the Iron Throne / Seven Suns plot from BG1...
To be honest i just hope there will be some "short" companion as well . Generally when i roll gnome i don't search romance to other race knees ( and i will make a Sorlock deep gnome).
There's a very brief clip in the panel from hell showing Ketheric talking at Orin, doing the angry dad finger point, it looks like part of the same scene from the Gortash reveal trailer (6:03:31 timestamp onnthat vod). I get the impression the three only get along when they're not in the same room lol
I am also of a like mind in the fact that Gosh may be recruitable. While many have commented that he is evil, and he is, that does not preclude him from making a binding deal. Devils are lawful evil as opposed to the chaos of demons. A devil will honor his/her contracts...A demon not so much. And if the gamers recall; albeit it is often ignored on the first long rest in the playthrough, we are offered a deal by a devil. Whether this devil will truly take care of our tadpole problem is not yet known. He does not seem to be aligned with the Absolute, and he might not approach us again should we use our tadpole powers too often. Yet this is merely speculative. However, should this be the case of the frequent use of the tadpole temptation, then we may unknowingly sever the possibility of forming an alliance with the devils. The fact that we are solicited numerous times in our dreams lend some credence that the Absolute or perhaps another power is tempting us. There are few thing more uncertain (i.e. chaotic) than dreams. A prospective, mercurial love interest does not imply order. Therefore we most likely ignore the devils...for now. Usually, according to many a mythos, the devils desire souls. I am looking forward as to the paths and sub paths offered us. I will leave my rambling with a quote from The Panel From Hell. 'Yes, there will be many paths and ending some might even involve marriage.' Please note that the writer did not state whether or not it was a good ending , Happy gaming, all.
I like Gortash the most out of the three. I have a soft spot for that type of characters, also I think he actually might have good intentions, but as we know Hell is paved with good intentions) The devil that raised him might be Karlach, btw. There was a line on the last PFH that she was the last person to keep him in check. Or sth along those lines.
Other possibilities include walking armor (I don't know much about those guards, but it's easy to see the HK-47 or Vhailor vibe). Dak'kon - If you have to pick someone else from an earlier title, then he would readily generate tension with the githyanki, Gale, Shadowheart, etc.
Thank you for video, may i ask what did you use for the background music?🤔 Im very interested in Ketheric and Gortash characters and i plan to ally with them. And i'm wondering how the necromancer specialization (i think there will be one) will affect relations with Ketheric.🤔 Ketheric looks like old wise grandpa, i like him.
As far as i know it was stated that the only joinable companion we haven't heard of before was the bard (or Paladin) from Baldurs gate 1 (Garron? Garrick?,dont remember his name right now..) and that is the last of the joinable companions.
I hope that Gortash can be a companion, especially since I want my Spore Drow Druid/War Cleric to smooch him. lol, so my intentions are not without agenda. 🤤
Ugh! Right?!? He's the kind of guy that your rational brain understands you shouldn't take home with you, but you don't want to listen because he's bad-boy hot and you KNOW he'd be great in bed. 😖
Redemption was an interesting and reoccurring theme in the first 2 games (I'm a sucker for those tropes!), but redemption arc or no-- Gortash is a very interesting character that I would love to barter/banter with. I feel like killing Ketheric is gonna emotionally crush me--that is a man of great loss and even greater conviction.
Would be cool to go vs the absolute with all 3 faces of him . But probably you need a wanna be absolute as well 😅 Someone that take all the gift of the tadpoles and with enough will take control of it as well
My problem is I wouldn’t like this because he’d have to be recruitable in act 3 and I hate getting companions at the end of games. Plus I feel like as archduke, he’d have to be hands on with political activities and making sure the steel watchers are controlling the streets. I’m curious about the alliance though and I do hope fextra was right about the two more companions but only time will tell. We’re nearly there everyone
It is possible that she is person Shadowheart is going to visit in Baldur's Gate, i.e. the head of the temple of Shar. There is also significant evidence that Edwin is in Baldur's Gate masquerading as another wizard (i.e. the Wizard who hired the adventurers who were seeking the nightsong). @@lilianhalcombe2820Oh yeah, I've known for a while Edwin will be in the game at least as an NPC. And I agree, it's possible Viconia will make it in. If you play a drow, Shadowheart does make a comment that she likes drow, unlike most. So maybe that's a hint?

That seems to be a, more or less, standard trope for D&D villains. It turns out that people with wicked hearts tend not to trust each other.
