If you guys ever show up in my neck of the woods, you'll have full cooperation of our dive team, and I will PERSONALLY put you guys in charge of the operation. @@01wonderful "We are all aware that police in America [are] quite toxic, but the fact that he apologized is a really big step forward. Others would just arrest them on the spot and say ' they interfere with the recovery of a body'."
      You got at least part of this right. They COULD have arrested them, but they didn't. That's called discretionary power. And it would have been for "obstructing legal process"; that means interfering with a police investigation, which is a felony.
      But, as I said, they didn't take that rout, because it would have been over kill.
      As to us all being aware that the police in America are "toxic", I am aware of no such thing. And since you have made this statement, you will need to prove it by a presentation of solid, well researched evidence that will back your statement.
      I can assure you before you start, you won't find any.
      I, on the other hand, can present a refutation of your statement right here; from the MacIver Institute, April, 2021 and I quote: "The Washington Post has created a database of every known deadly police shooting in America since 2015. As of this writing, 6,211 people have been shot and killed by law enforcement officers. 46% of them-2,883 to be exact-were white, while 24% (1,496 total) were black.
      Just 6% were unarmed."
      In the mean time, almost 100 people were shot in Chicago on the 4th of July...none of them by police officers. 100 people in ONE NIGHT. Who's toxic?

One question for you. Where were the plows supposed to put the snow? I have always said when people complain about how the road was plowed, that the plow drivers could have just stayed home and then say think about how bad it could have been if they did. This was a freak accident and probably won't happen again on that bridge for another 50 years or more. When the good Lord calls you home it does not matter where you are or what you are doing.

      They shouldn’t have pissed you off, AWP is not an authority figure here and did not have the clearance to be there, you can’t just wander into a murder scene and go “We’re helping!” And expect the police to not tell you to piss off, the fact they came back to ask for help and apologise shows that they understand and now recognise the skill of AWP but you can’t just expect them to get a free pass at every crime scene simply because you want them to or because they have a past of helping, authority still has to be respected and the proper procedures taken to ensure both parties can cooperate together prior to the recovery, if they had divers in the water for example another boat being nearby is VERY dangerous

    • @SinfullyHera
      @SinfullyHera 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@mpshotattwice3253 However as it stood all they had reasonably to go on was what AWP said, the same applies, if it is an active crime scene the police can't have randoms in the area, especially when it's water based since disturbances can make recovery much more difficult or if there is divers etc in the water and a random boat pulls up it runs the very real risk of injuring that diver, it's clear the police did want to find him themselves but let's not pretend asking them to leave wasn't reasonable.

      To be fair, first thing I would be worried as a cop is that they would come and mess up the evidence. It has happened a lot in the past when people from outside try to come and help and don’t understand the procedure so the person wouldn’t get found or evidence would get tampered.
      Never know, this could have been a murder.!

      It's not really about pride when they don't know other people's experience. They are on a recovery they don't need to have it turn into a search and rescue as well. I don't think it's pride. The authorities have rules and regulations they have to abide. They have to do things to also keep the public safe. Imagine if one of these divers was hurt or even died during this, the police would have been the first to get blamed. Why didn't they stop them, why didn't they chase them away. I applaud AWP, but you can't just put yourself in the middle of a police procedure and expect them to accept you with open arms.

    Hey jared, I really admire how much respect you have for the police, dive team and families! You should be involved more and take more credit and you sit on your hands when told. Keep up the good work!

    I watched this live and I’ve gotta say, with this case and others, it really bothers me when AWP gets pushed back, told to step aside, especially after THEY have located the vehicle and a family’s love one!! I could go on a rant about this, but I won’t!! It’s not about “who” gets credits, it’s about finding a family’s love one!! AWP are “Angels in Wet Suits”🤿❤️🪝

    I’m glad they apologized at the end. But it literally took AWP 10 minutes. And after 2 days the police still had not found it. I know it’s stressful but AWP are very well known all police should know they do not do this for the notoriety, they do this for the family’s and there peace of mind. It’s not like it’s there first recovery and won’t be there last. I just feel that if you have a group like this willing to assist, you should take the help and be grateful for the help.

    • @deedeeiam
      @deedeeiam 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The person was already dead, they weren't going anywhere. You want police to get better? Guess what? They have to run a recovery and learn their specific tools by themselves. They're almost always training people at the same time. Additionally, if you let civilians participate, you become responsible for them. AWP is well known by TH-cam viewers, that's it. Do you know how many randos show up at scenes like this? There are divers and organizations that do this regularly and work a lot better with local authorities because they are known in the area and have had their credentials validated.
