  • In this Las Vegas Poker Vlog I play a 2/5 no limit cash game at the Wynn poker room. I play a big pot with pocket aces! No limit Texas Hold 'em cash is not my main game. I am more of a tournament poker player. I have watched a lot of Andrew Neeme and Brad Owen vlogs to learn more about no limit cash games. Watch this vlog to see what how much money I win or lose in this cash game in Las Vegas!

    To be honest, I don’t know how you’ve kept from going insane grinding tournaments only. Binking tournament $$ happens so rarely, it just seems like the negative feedback loop cycling over and over could cause anxiety, depression, and rage to even the very best tournament players. Cash games at least provide positive feedback with a winning session.

    • @JeffBoski
      @JeffBoski  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Very true

    • @fredgarvin4482
      @fredgarvin4482 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jeff i agree. even though i am a losing poker player overall the variance and low chances of tournament wins versus cash games makes mixing in cash games a winning idea for you i would think.
      when i played mostly cash i was break even because cash games would offset my tournament losses.
      just do your due diligence and change strategy a bit for the cash games.

    • @fredgarvin4482
      @fredgarvin4482 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      i think tournament vlogs are funnier to watch, but dont let the vlog run your gambling career.

      @fredgarvin4482 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JeffBoski i really shouldnt be giving you advice, but i will :)
      dont forget about the basics of gambling. when you got the better end of it stay in the game. i.e. you can sit down at a cash game once a week and if you find a soft table you can make enough to pay a tournament entry. cash is less pressure than tournaments you can just sit back and play tighter and less hands. and if it isnt your night just go get a asian foot massage.

    Great crossover Vlog, you can differently make more steady income on the cash game side of things. All of the older big names know how to adjust to the different play that's needed. Luck isn't so much a factor in cash games, and if your just having a bad session you can always get up and leave. Tournaments that have good structures and prize pools are still a good value, but the cash side can realize a more steady win factor with your skills and thought process.
    Again, great Vlog.

      Would you say people bluff more in cash compared to tournies?

    • @mikemckeon8976
      @mikemckeon8976 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would say depends on read of player, and stakes. Lower level cash doesn't always pay to bluff, and on river if a bet is made its normally for value. I forgot to listen to that voice, and called a value raise with the 2nd nuts to be shown the nut flush...
      Tournaments can depend on rebuy entry time, or if the person has become short stacked. Reads and past play all come into it.

In the long run don't know if cash game are a good idea.. my experience is that what you win you also lose very unexpectedly, bigger boats, flushes vs straights, quads etc. But maybe that won't happen if you also choose the right rec tables.

    Cash games are MUCH more interesting. Knowing the stack size and why you played each hand is also good. Cash is more interesting because the feedback is immediate and there are MANY more people like me who just want to a least be a break even player with the high rake to be able to play whenever I like. I don't want to be the guy to drop a few hundred each time and only come home a winner when I get crazy lucky.
    Everyone likes cash money in their pocket and frankly if you can play and normally win then this is golden. Most people that watch are not pros. Nice cash. Anything over $500 is really great and over $1000 is super nice.

    Just when I think you can’t stoop any lower, you go and do something like this.......AND TOTALLY REDEEM YOURSELF! You managed to throw in clips from two of my absolute favorite movies so I’m all distracted! Lol Seriously though, your game most definitely translates well on the cash tables, I’ve thought that for a long time! Thanks for the wide variety of content and good luck on the felt brother!

    Nice win man, I tried to prove that you could make a living playing tourneys vs. cash, that was a tough lesson. I love playing tourneys and nothing beats winning a tournament. But cash is definetly more consistent.

    Definitley do more cash games! Tournaments are lame cause chips don’t have actual value but when you play cash you put people to the test of every single dollar they have in front of them. Great vlog, cash is more preferred, keep it up.

    Last night high hand promo 800$ for quad 7s. Big pot building, down to 2 players. FH And F draws on board. At river newbie kid looks at dealer and says "if he folds am I still eligible for the high hand?" Players are pushing back going whaaat? Dealer smiles and says yes, kid shoves his remaining 250$. Other player tanks and open face folds FH. Kid flips up 77 to get quads and high hand holds. It's that kind of stuff that makes vlogging cash games interesting. Rice run, btw.

    Be careful as you move up in stakes Jeff , better to play in a “ comfort zone “ than stretch your bankroll too quickly trying to move up. I suggest you have ten full max buy ins in order to sustain any down swings. Yes it can be a roller coaster ride sometimes but it can be very profitable! Best of luck , Sending you some “Run Good “

    Honestly, I think you’re too good of a poker player to not dedicate a decent amount time to cash games. I like the direction as I’m sure you’ll find a good balance to keep up with your typical.
