The number of times I've been knocked out by some old guy chasing a draw with terrible odds is unbelievable, and seriously frustrating. Recently i was in a tournament, in the early stages and i have AK of spades. I flop A K 10, one club, a heart and a diamond. I raised pre flop and he was the only caller. I bet decently after the flop, got called, the turn came with a 7 of clubs. I pushed having a good read, knowing he was on a flush draw trying to force him out, and i had him covered. He called again and flips over 5 3 of clubs. I'm thinking WTF is this guy doing in this hand and calling me twice with nothing... and of course, he catches a club on the river and cripples me in a hand he had no business being in.
I was just talking about his the other day I think it's actually harder to play bad players with their unpredictability where as you can analyze a good players moves much easier
@@anthonymarinucci325 the 90% of the time where you win that exact same hand, I bet you wouldn't be complaining. If you want that guy to fold every time then you do not understand poker. You want him to play the way he did and not ever fold. In the long run, you win so much more.
Daniel, these videos are not just helpful but very enjoyable. Walking through your judgements puts an extra thrill into them. So much better than dry practice hands. You know what would be killer? If you could get your opponent to comment his side on some of these. I would love to know his thought process right as he throws away. I think I know, but it would be great to hear it.
Very true, I've been called all the way down on a super wet board only to have the guy show me bottom pair 3's...low stakes players do not like folding their pairs

Daniel, I was pleasantly surprised by how well explained - in other words, helpful - I found this video to be. Not sure WHY I should have been surprised given that I"ve always thought you to be adept at articulating your analysis and to be gifted with an unusually clear understanding of possible limitations or misconceptions which might impair your audience's ability to fully understand you. It is quite usefull to think about Katz's spot. He thought Daniel's range was AA, AK, AQ or TT. I believe that made him to muck. So, Daniel has absolutely right. 😜 And it is importan to understand that Daniel wasn't bluffing all night long. So Katz was like " screw that hand, I believe you". Kind of basics but still tough strategy against heroes and gamblers. Thank U Daniel. Amazing videos

But on the Turn, if he CR for another 450K, can you fold? (I guess knowing the Player, and he's never bluffing here, and you still have decent stack if you fold, you do.

Hey Daniel, loved the video. I have a question: why is Katz calling from the big blind with Ajo if he intends to fold it to significant aggression when he hits an ace? I know Ajo is clearly a marginal made hand but given the stack to pot ratio for him on the turn why isn't he happy just to stack off? You somewhat answered this question in the video by saying ICM implications, but if this is such an overwhelmingly important factor why doesn't he just fold his big bind in the first place? If he's only willing to stack off when the flop comes AJ2 or J42 then shouldn't he just fold preflop?
Some UI suggestions for your editor Daniel: Animated "range transitions" following action to action, street to street, would be amazing. ...I don't know that it's ever been done with poker training before? "Before his plausible range was this, *graphic* now it's been narrowed to this *graphic*" Also, would be helpful to display board and action history alongside action-by-action updated range charts.

Range works sometimes at the low stake cash games that I am playing regularly, but it depends on the player type. I bluff the top pair J off the hand when the K hits the river which I actually had A 10 😃
I was given a copy of Doyle Brunsons Super System. When I watch these videos you speak of different "eras" of Poker. I'm sure there is some great info in the book about playing fundamental poker. Just how relevant is the book as a whole when used in todays game though?

Love this play and the thought process but if you add the flop bet and the turn bet together I think you take away all of your big draw hands as I don't think you would play them the same way. So he can put your range too AK maybe AQ and other set type hands so can attack with blockers too that like an ace witch he had I think a more advanced player at the table would of played back in that spot.

Wouldn't it be a pretty big mistake to not 3-bet AA from BB? I feel like this AJ fold is too tight since BB range is going to be wider and will be overfolding enough as it is.

Bet sizing should be based on board dynamics right? Shouldn’t a strong hand bet more than 1/4 pot in this spot? Doesn’t have to be much more but even a 1/3 to 40 percent pot size bet seems better for value..?

Keep an image of the HUD (flop, stacks, pot size, hands, etc.) on the screen while you're talking & showing the range matrix!
