Mariano the classic show 1 when opponent folds in live poker is almost always a good fold. People get salty that people fold so they try to tilt you and show 1 to act like they bluffed. Its opposite of what u say. Good fold. Showing 1 confirms it was.
There is also the fact that he appears to check his cards before flipping the 9. If he really had an air ball he could’ve just flipped one without looking
Disagree. If he had A9,K9 or even Q9 which I’m thinking was his most likely holding, he’s gonna show the 9, if he shows an A,K or Q he’s basically saying yeah I had pocket ____ . Only 1 combination of hand that he was losing to that’s 97 of spades. Pretty sure he made a bad lay down, I think if you’re calling the turn their and get a brick river you have to be willing to call the river jam. I personally would’ve folded on the flop but after Mariano called the turn and the guy jammed for an under the pot sized bet I was screaming call.
@@bobbygrizz210 so wrong with your analysis. Why not show both cards ? Classic Rookie Tilt Show one card attempt. Go take a psych 101 class. All your analysis is BS. Whenever a rookie shows me the one card bluff card I know i made a good fold. Dolts have been doing this for years.

It may not seem like it but I think the raise over the top in the AQ hand on the river is a big mistake. He will never ever call with worse and every so often he will have QT or pocket 3’s. As you said your hand is face up so you give him the opportunity to play perfectly by raising. You make the exact same anyways if he has a queen
Hey Mariano, it's been a while since I last saw a video of yours on my feed. I appreciate the content, my poker has really improved since I started to watch people like Andrew Neeme, Bradley, and yourself.
Loved the opening scene! Bad play on the AQ though. I think that you were definitely right to consider folding pre, and even the flop. But once you call $425 on the turn and get a brick river you have to be willing to call off the jam.. no bluffs are checking back. Wasn’t even a pot sized bet either. Love the vlogs though man keep it up. It’s always easy to critique from the other side especially when you aren’t in the moment.
I'm not trying to be Keyboard Ivey but that last hand I have to agree with the 9-7 spades. Usually when they show you one bluff card the other card is value if not they would show you both. Just my experience but I could be mistaking. Thanks for the content.
Great vlog, but just wanted to say regarding the last hand, you made a comment that because you were so deep it would be too nitty to fold AQ preflop...that’s the exact opposite way to think about it, you want to fold those hands when you’re deep and stick with them when you’re shallower. You want to avoid hands that are dominated when deep, where as when spr is shallow you don’t care to stack off with top pair and non nut kickers.
@@MarianoPoker Ya, let me take this very awkward hand up against a 3bettor, out of position, with stupid-deep stacks. What could possibly go wrong? And if it does, it makes for a great vlog. You're an awesome player man, and I learn so much from you - just please don't teach me bad habits.
Is the Wynn going to grow up and put poker back in le Poker Room? Saw the temporary set up with tables crammed on the casino floor and it looked ridic.
18:03 reflecting on that hand, do you feel that maybe a blocker bet of $500 would have done the trick? His bet on the river was so polarized, but then again his calling range was wide based on previous heads up. Possibly had 79 ♠. and got lucky on the flop. Either way, tough spot.

@@Aspirahful yeah he likely had pocket 9's and was trying to scare his opponent at the end. That was a huge bet though and he pegged the opponent for the Queen. Gotta give him credit for that.
Hi Mariano, I think the river you should call with that sizing. As based on your holding, the opponent only has 3 combos of AA, 6 combos of KKs thats a total of 9 combos. However due to the way you underrep your hand, the opponent can do this with TT, JJ (12 combos) and AKc => 13 combos that you beat and 1 combo AQd that chop the pot. Any other stronger holdings like QQ, 77 or 44 should not bet with a large sizing on the turn for any draw to continue. With the river bet of 2/3 the pot you only need to win 30% of the time, which is definitely the case here. (As you beat around 13 combos, lost to 9 combos and chop 1 combo)
Not to mention he can did this with any other trashes, thus the amount of bluffing combos may not be limited to 13 but I cant find any more other combos that had you beat beside the 9 combos stated above.
I don’t think the preflop aggressor had 97 spades on the final hand. It makes more sense for him to have 9s and think one over card pair on the board was the risk he took.

I think your fold was correct 9s7s is definitely what I would have put him on especially after seeing him only bet big once he filled up on the river on the chopped hand before the last one
Great vlog. I think the AQ-hand was perfectly played; in true CLP-fashion. If the opponent is good enough for a triple barrel bluff there, he deserves your money, but 99.9% of the time you're likely not good there.
I think raising the AQ from SB after straddle and limper still puts your range wide. Therefore the 3bet from the BB should not seen as AA or KK. Flop and run out don’t really end in major draws getting there so opponent having 88+ even KQ is extremely possible.

Just wanted to say that I love your content- it is the cleanest and best done of all the poker vlogs I follow. On the pocket threes hand- tough- hard to believe he folded a king there regardless. I do think your river bet there was a mistake, though- if he doesn't have a king, he isn't calling anything you bet, and if he has a king, he will almost surely not check it back, right?
I'm not a fan of the shove with AQ on the QT33T board. His pot bet of $500 is air, 3X, TT, or QX. 7:25 what do you think happens if you bet this flop?
That would be pretty bad
Love your videos!! Greetings from Greece!!
