Great Revolver. I'm not sure if I'm brave enough to take it apart if I own one I would like to have a Manurhin MR73 in 5.25 inch bbl. I'm thinking, if you plan on putting a lot of .357 rounds through, it would probably hold up better than the Korth. What are your thoughts? Thanks for the vid 0:05 eo
This one is a Ratzeburg-production Korth. It's blued, as most were. Looks to be 1980s vintage (though after 1981). Korths built by the new company in Lollar have a DLC finish.
how good is DLC coating? what is it known for? is it super durable and tough? or is it a cost effective method? why did Korth choose DLC out of all the options?
@@alexmarlow2508 cost ? Not sure Cause doing DLC coatings is hard to do without defects. I've got a custom knife and had to wait for the knife maker to redo coating . I still love traditional bluing and if done right, it is very durable. But is it better than DLC ? DONT know . I do know that even the best bluing wears off eventually.
@@grimreaper337 so DLC isn't a "finish"? it's a complete separate layer on top of the steel? does DLC never fade or wear down unless something extreme happens? Why don't all gun manufactures use coating like DLC instead of a finish? since finish gets worn down and scratched etc and a coating like DLC protects the steel more?
I disagree, mate I have x 3 korths - classic, stx, and alx and x 3 Manurhins- 4, 5 , 8 inches I have a STX korth and there was no spring in the firing pin, BRAND NEW, WHY ?, and I had to buy one. Also replaced the TRIGGER springs in my korth, overused for competition and it weakened, AND THE SCREW TO ADJUST IT, IT MOVES AFTER A FEW MONTHS OF FIRING!!! I use No 1 disc for my shooting style. The MAnUrhin, smooth throughout because the trigger leaf spring is on ROLLER - TRIGGER PULL DOES NOT CHANGE FROM START TO FINISH The trigger block is also on a ROLLER THE hand is on a ROLLER!!! THE KORTH IS SUPERB, LOUD, SHOWY THE MANURHIN...STYLE, DISCREET, DEADLY
So , you would recommend the manurhin mr73 over a Korth ? Not being argumentive , but not too many own both , so I really would like your opinion on that . On list for manurhin mr73, got the money but I have to choose between Korth or Manurhin. So much BS on the internet. I tend to look for actual users / owners .
@@grimreaper337 Okay, understand this, the MR73 was created for LE/military use. It's all steel construction and believe me I did a lot of research before putting in the preorder but the MR73 is the one to get if your looking to shoot it a lot. The Korth is a competition orientated revolver while the MR73 is a tank built to shoot and to be shot a life time. So it depends what you'r looking for. I wanted durability, precision and beauty so I went for the MR73. I've also seen a few videos where people have broken Korth sights and other parts. In the end it's up to you.
@@357stoitch7 thanks , that confirms everything I've researched . No stamped , cast or mim parts . The French company bought out the original mulhouse company , keep the same gunsmiths and tooling , only used modern CNC machines where there was product improvement and keep hand fitting methods that modern machines can't touch , use the same design , same steel supplier, improved heat treat protocols, told Berreta to back off when pressured to boast production at the expense of standards, Berreta said ok . And voila . Like you , I've spent hours researching this , shifting thru internet BS . Reminds me of what I went thru before buying a American sig p210 . Until I became part of a Facebook club and talked with actual own had them all .Swiss, German and the American was I confident enough to buy it . Great pistol . Still wished I could get Swiss made heavy frame or the German super targets . But thanks . You know where I'm coming from . My Henry all weather with side loading gate needs a friend. I'm sticking with Mr 73 . On the list . Either this month ( batch coming ) or in the summer . I still would love a 8rd korth that takes moon clips . Sigh
@@grimreaper337 No problem! I’m curious how did you figure out when the batch for 2022 is coming? I have not see that info anywhere about when we should expect a restock of MR73’s.
If I'm paying $3000 for a gun, the sight better not break. And if it does, I better not email, then wait, then mail it in, then wait 2 weeks to get it fixed. They better come to my damn house and fix it there.
This revolver is the Rolls-Royce of revolvers! ... 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Great review and explaination. Thx
confirmed with Beretta. They are servicing the MR73s
Will they be servicing the older MR73's as well or only the ones they sell?
Thanks . That actually helps . Tough decision
Korth or manurhin mr73
Wish I had the money for both dammit.
What are the screwdriver and bits used?

the real question is did something ever break on your MR73 ?
That looks blued . New korths are DLC coating right ? I'm torn between getting a Korth and manurhin mr73. Can't have both .
