  • The Montech AIR 903 is one of the most affordable PC cases on the market right now. It comes with 4 fans that might cost more than the case itself. But how does the Montech 903 get so cheap? Well there's a few reasons why...
Buy items in this video from Amazon at the links below:
    Montech AIR 903 BASE - geni.us/AIR930...
    Montech AIR 903 MAX ARGB - geni.us/AIR903...
Check out the Corsair Xeneon - geni.us/XENEON

1:58 - Build Quality Concerns (Ouch)
    2:50 - Monitor BLING
3:24 - Be careful with side panels

6:14 - Building Experience (is good but...)

I feel like they probably watched this and are taking notes to make revisions on their next model. They really gave the impression that they take feedback seriously and then try to upgrade things while still keeping the prices in that budget/value space. I love what they have been doing so far.

@@shanksisnoteventhatstrongbruh I don't think it would really happening. Montech probably is able to get the price down so low because of economies of scale and already having tooling for the case. So adding another components that they will have to get tooling for while not know if it will sell super well is not a risk a company is willing to make especially with budget items usually being very profit per unit.

@@shanksisnoteventhatstrongbruhYou're going to have to go with the DIY 3D print on that route, unfortunately. I don't even know if that mesh would actually provide any cooling unless you put fans on it. But who puts fans on the side of their case? Maybe an AIO?

Recently built a mATX system in Deepcool CH370 for family. 60EUR. Was positively surprised. A bit oversize to my liking, but then more versatile for eventual AiO.
Few things to be picky about, but really nothing significant. No rubber grommets at all, but if you route cables properly around, doesn't hurt a thing. Also you could DIY those.
And it had just one fan, but I went with 3 better ones in white for 15EUR total anyway. While the rest well made and with some nice design touches like an integrated GPU support and headphone hook. Also good looking. I wouldn't want to spend much more on any case except it's a unique eye candy like Fractal North. Which 90% expensive cases aren't.

During the gpu apocalypse of 2021 I bought a Montech X3 Mesh for $70 because everything else was a lot more than that. Montech cut some corners here and there and the 120mm fans don't last a long time (but the 140mm's on the front do) and the metal is a bit on the thin side but with great air flow and all other things considered it was a great deal to get a system up and running. On Black Friday 2022, I bought a Montech X1 Tempered Glass ATX Mid-Tower Computer Case for about $50+tax. I was not impressed! The front fans were connected with molex connectors, that could not be speed controlled. They ran at full speed and were loud. The fans were RGB, but you couldn't adjust that function either. So, I immediately ordered replacement non-RGB fans from Amazon for an additional $23. The metal was really thin and they left very little room on the back to do wire management. For the $75 I spent I'm sure I could have gotten a much better case. I have since moved the build to a Lian Li Lancool 205.

Just a heads up but the jab to gave Montech on the top magnetic filter was irrelevant because you used the wrong screws to mount those fans. I've been building PC's for 13 years and have never seen fan screws with a head on them as big as what I saw in this video. Typically fan screw heads are flat which would not impede the filter if screwed into the fan properly. I'm sure this is what was intended to be used by the manufacturer.

Might want to leave that case out in the sun for a few days so the white will match the other components :)

Apparently the demand for montech has gone up and they decided to capitalize. I'm seeing $250 for the air base

I just bought a Max white with ARGB 903 on Amazon for 69.99. When you see wild numbers like $250, rest assured it is individual vendors doing it. It's not Montech raising the price.@@HardwareCanucks

    1:45 . Case IO write speed 86 MB/s. Motherboard IO write speed 1992 MB/s🤔

Yeah the write speeds were horrible. I only copied files from the External SSD onto the PC and that was fine, but probably going in reverse would introduce some slowdowns.

What case would you suggest for easy travel. I am not going far I just house sit a lot and want to stop moving my giant pc case around.

Like ITX size or some smaller midtower? The new ASUS AP201 fits an mATX board but is actually about 3/4 of your regular mid-tower in height. I'd start there. If ITX is your thing, Meshlichious / Lian Li H20 or the new DAN C4-SFX are all awesome.

Old versions take up storage space from the new versions is why they push em cheapo.

I wish more things would just come with A4 printer paper as padding. You have no idea how useless bubble wraps and air packs are when you don't sell or ship things yourself on eBay.
