I differ with you a little on the percent of budget, depending on the situation. If you don't need the most computing power possible now, get an upgrade friendly MB (like AMD) with lower end (or fewer - 1 ram stick instead of 2, 1 SSD instead of 2, 2 fans instead of 6) components that can be easily upgraded in a few months when you have more money, and spend more on a case you want for a long time that's easy to work with. It's much easier to switch or add components than getting a new case. The case is like the foundation of the computing house. However, if your priority is straight computing power as soon as possible, your recommendation to spend a smaller percentage on a case makes good sense. Also, some people may just enjoy rebuilds, even if it's the same guts. In January, upgraded from a Phanteks Enthoo Pro to a be quiet! Dark Base Pro 901, and just moving the parts was fun for me.
@@libertyprime9307 , yes, I can definitely see why that may be true in some builds. I apologize for the lack of clarity. It was just one example of many ways to cut spending upfront to get a better tower at the beginning of a budget build. If a person puts a high priority on a quality long-term tower, that may be a tradeoff they're willing to make. RAM is so cheap that buying the second stick on next month's wage might even be possible, though it is less cost efficient and less performant than just having a pair to start with. Sometimes, I've started with a single stick because I wanted to max the capacity of each slot but couldn't afford two sticks while doing that initially. I always end up maxing out my RAM slots, and I don't like to buy RAM twice (replace 2x16GB with 2x32GB later, for example). I would rather just start with 1x32GB than start with 2x16GB, and I've never had a regrettable experience from this approach, even if I'm not winning online benchmark competitions or squeaking out 2-5 more fps. I also prioritize GPU spending over RAM speed/performance, because its direct impact on performance is more substantively observable immediately. I just need enough RAM to prevent my disk from being used and to allow complex 4K or 6K video edits to take as much RAM as they want. I don't know what build you'll do next, but I hope you have a blast with it and that it exceeds your needs and expectations. Thank you for the feedback.
The latest case that has caught my eye is the Antec C7. Cant say if i would buy it yet as i havnt seen the price yet. I really like what Montech have been doing with cases. They are one of those brands that have decided to give people more for their money. Ive had it with brands who will give you 3 front fans and no exhaust fan. And then with cases like the Montech air 903 MAX they include a fan controller, just that much better value. As always loved the video, and love the cat content. Thanks Jason.
I got the antec c5 I think it’s a steal it comes with 7 argb PWM fans and a rgb strip and support rear connector motherboards couldn’t ask for anything more tbh
The Lian Li Cool 216 is phenomenal. It has a FANTASTIC/RGB hub in the back that supports up to 3-4 fans, it has installed Velcro for cable management as well as zip ties that come with the case. It has 360 AIO support but if you want a 240 it comes with panels to close the 120mm gap that’s left. It’s just a good case. Very easy to build in, it was my first pc build and I’d recommend it 100%
It wasnt the 7900xtx or the 5800x3D but the Fractal Torrent case that I bought, when I realized Im a PC enthusiast..If u like spending time on your pc, it surely is a good feeling to look at a nice looking case that u chose matching your aesthetic taste and/or your airflow preferences. So I would say : dont cheap out on cases. Btw very nice that Mr Bear gave his financial go to upgrade your set up, Team PC builder. Finally 1440p and up!
I bought the king 95 pro and the front audio mic doesn’t work on it even though I plugged it in correctly. Now my cord on my gf 560 mic won’t reach. :( idk what do go
I’m making my first PC with the king and 95 pro but see says I need a certain USB adapter that I can’t find online please help exact issue” A USB 3.2 Gen 2 to USB 3.2 Gen 1 header adapter is required.”
@@ThatGuyNexttDoor so that issue is nothing to worry about. I've seen that before trying to help people out who have selected that Case and looking online found out it's fine. Looking at your build however I see your CPU Cooler is out of stock. You can also save a little on the Motherboard, and SSD, and get a better PSU and White RAM for not a lot more. @@ThatGuyNexttDoorbut if that's something that does really concern you just get the ASRock X670E Steel Legend Motherboard and that note goes away. It's / QLWgB in PC Part Picker.
Very excited about the Montech XR, can't wait for it and the mesh version to be released in my region! Do you think the Montech stock fans are good or is it worth replacing them with something else?
I just finished my king 95 pro in white 2 days ago! I recommend the Frozen Prism 360m aio from thermalright right for $59. Went all white with the gigabyte aorus elite ax ice edition, trident Z neos in white, and the asrock steel legend. It came out beautifully. Absolutely banger of a case, and the controller had the extra room for all 3 fans in the aio so it was literally a breeze!
@@KartikPatil-uy6ub try the steel legend 7900gre. It’s like $10 more than the sapphire 7800xt and with a quick memory overclock, you get within 8% of the 7900xt which leaves you at roughly 20% ahead of the 7800xt. For $10 that’s absolutely worth it. I was about to pick the 7800xt, but once I saw the gre price for so little more, I couldn’t pass it up.
@@Bballfan1992 i got the white king non-pro so i could match the fans of the white Frozen Prism 360m aio i got for $57. great AIO, great case! i went with the asrock taichi lite motherboard and 7800x3d and kept my XFX RX 69509xt from my previous build.
Stop buying PC cases that suffocate your components. Whatever else you want to do (RGB, glass, etc.) is a matter of preference. I've been using the Montech Air 903 Max over the Base, not because of the RGB, but because with the Max there's no need to shift fans around and add one to get a 3-in, 1-out configuration.
I currently have a Corsair Obsidian 750D Airflow Full Tower case but thinking when i do my upgrade to purchase the new Corsair 9000D and move what I am keeping from my current machine into the newer super case when it is eventually released.
Hi Jason! I really like the Sharkoon V1000 RGB, mATX case It comes with 3 Argb fans, has good airflow and an internal CD drive-slot. I miss the days where every laptop and tower pc had internal drives In my region it costs 75€ including taxes or 60€ without taxes. Btw. There are different versions. I refer to the one with a glass side panel and a mesh front for optimal airflow
I got myself a CTE C750 Air, it cost me 149$, i love that case and it was really my only option in the premium category since, where i live (Mexico), for example the Montech King 95 pro cost 200$. Even if it had the same cost i would've gotten the C750, i just love the look of that case and all the options you have to mount hardware on it.
I'm absolutely in love with my NZXT H6 Flow case super easy to build in and do cable management. I went with the non rgb version and then changed out to different fans adding the 2 in the basement. Total of 5 fans and the pc runs as cool as i would hope for in an air cooled setup. Great video and thank you for ideas for my budget build in gonna do for my dedicated ATS/ETS rig since it don't need to be flashy

Places like Australia and New Zealand, buying a PC case is hard and must consider the physical size, because many Matx cases wont fit a 3x fans GPU and we don't really have enough options for both PC cases and GPUs.
I just put my system that I built this past January into a new, more spacious case. It’s the Thermaltake Ceres 500. Much better air flow. It comes with its own adjustable GPU support and four ARGB 140mm fans. I finally gave in to not having internal drive bays for my DVD burner and USB hub so I got external versions for both.
Whenever I am working on a new build, I always find myself coming to your videos to pick the case I build in. I appreciate the consistent updates and hope they continue to come!
Glad to see the Hyte Y40 on this list. I chose this case for my 7800x3d/4080S build because it just looks so good & offers vertical gpu mounting. I have mine fully spec’d out with fans and my thermals are fantastic. I play @ 4k & GPU never goes above 70•C~ even in the most demanding games.
Hi, love the video, i've been searching a case to replace my NZXT S340 Elite, i've been looking at NZXT H7 Flow, i really liked it , is it a bad case overall. should i maybe search another case?
If i swap my motherboard and cpu is there anything specific i need to do? Or does Windows automatically detect everything i had on my current equipment?
You will have to find and reinstall the drivers for the new cpu like chipset drivers. It should work out of the box. Windows might unactivate, but you can reactivate it with your key. If it was an oem key from a pre-built you have to "find" a way to reactivate it.
I window shop for mitx cases. My kids may get interested in having a pc/console in a year or two, and I would like to combine it with our aging dvd player and make a gaming/media center that can run dvds and perhaps be a steam-machine
I love my bequiet case. It came with 3x120 and 1x160 of their RGB fans all pre installed and cable managed very well. It has easily removable screens and keeps everything nice and cool and of course does it quietly.
I'm just wondering, for the H6 Flow, it doesn't have any dust filters on it - is this a problem? Because I want this case ...and did you say that only intake should actually have dust filters and not the exhaust? Thanks!
Wow, Aqua 3 case $59. Insane! The Montech looks amazing for $63!!! Holy Cow Batman….. you knocked this out of the park!!! Not one bad case and every single one was a value for its category and class.
I've had my Phanteks Eclipse P400 for over 4 years and can't quite justify upgrading it. I often daydream of a complete new build, hence my viewership here rn. thanks for the video!
I just got the lian li 216 for $50, open box from microcenter! Amazing and well thought out case. You can tell they really used their brains when designing it. Pleasure to build in.

currently rocking the montech air 100 argb. Been thinking of either buying a new case (something smaller probably) or changing my fans to bigger ones/adding an AIO cooler. Video came in time!
No Jonsbo D31/41... Who doesn't want a case with a screen on the front 😅. I kid, this is a great video with great advice. Along with the SAMA Q5, DIYPC has a couple of cases like it (CUBE04 is one) that's a similar price too, lots of great options in the 55 usd range right now
Currently building on a h6 flow white ,pretty sure the rear takes only 1 fan , great video keep it up , building a pc with watching your videos over the last couple months ,awesome content as always.
Sorry I got to the party so late. Busy weekend, bunch of family from out of town here. Just got home from a baseball game. Great video, as usual... but I'm curious why you didn't mention Thermaltake's Tower series in any of them. The Tower 200 for 100 bucks feels like a steal. Comes with 2 140mm (non-RGB) fans included. I just put them in the back for exhaust and used other RGB fans up front for the aesthetic.
Sounds like a great weekend! Thermaltake makes good stuff but I'm not a big fan of their pricing so they didn't make the cut here. But great to hear that you've had a good experience with them!
I'm waiting on the lian li lancool 207, supposed to go on sale this year for like us$80, for my next build. very similar to the 206/216 in look & design as a front intake atx case with those larger paired front fans, but it moves the power supply up front to open the space directly under the motherboard for a pair of sunken intake fans, supplying fresh air directly to the gpu without taking up extra space in the main compartment. two front and two bottom intake fans should balance with the one rear exhaust fans plus typical three fan top exaust aio cpu cooler, with the front two fans being larger and the aio having to push through the radiator giving the desired overall positive pressure. My current pc uses the montech sky 2, very similar to the xt or whatever it was shown in this video. it's been very good for me, looks very pretty, affordable price, surprisingly good air flow. However the fishtank design moves intake fans to the side, which significantly reduces room in the rear compartment for cable management. Not unworkable at all, still a very good case, but kind of an uncomfortably tight fit back there, and the typical rear power dupply position doesn't allow for the direct air supply to the gpu like the lian li 207 will.
I bought a Montech Sky 2 GX. Not a bad case. Then I bought a incompatible xmp ram for my b650 motherboard. I knew something like this would happen trying to build my own pc and going for cheap deals. The user reviews said it worked turns out it only works if I don't turn xmp mode on.....
Im about to move into a new condo and i cant wait to re-build my living room pc in the fractal terra for aesthetics. I'm also going to upgrade the living room pc from am4 to am5 so i have two pcs woth am5 so i can troubleshoot parts easily when something goes wrong in one.
Montech Air 903 base and Phanteks XT pro are some fairly priced cases I like a bunch. Asus TUF Gaming GT302 is a real performer too, but more of a premium case. I love cases, thumbs up!
What about the Phanteks Nv5 for when it comes to positive air pressure? It has 4 intake, 4 exhaust. Should I negate the 1 rear exhaust? What are your thoughts?
JASONN PLS BEST 400$ GPU ?? I have a 12400f build with a RX570, I’m thinking of getting a 6750XT ($309) from Amazon but it’s $50 more for the 3 year protection plan. But im thinking of going for a XFX-6800 which is $369 but with another $50 it goes a bit out of my already extended budget. Do you think it’s worth ur getting a 6800 or can i skip the 3 year protection plan if that’s not risky.

Thanks for these reviews, Jason. I always like how concise and simple you make them (they need more cat though, LOL). I'm looking to move my latest build out of a 10+ year old Zalman MS800+ mid-tower case (pretty rudimentary but it has the unique feature of a powered SATA backplane for three drives with a bonus 90mm fan) and was wondering if you've had any experience with the SAMA Neview 4503 case?

Okinos Aqua 7 is sick!! I use it in Pc flipping (I do higher end builds) and it comes with 9 RGB fans and a hub!!!
Nice!
Very easy to build in, it was my first pc build and I’d recommend it 100%
What do you think of the new lancool 207, when compared to 216?
It wasnt the 7900xtx or the 5800x3D but the Fractal Torrent case that I bought, when I realized Im a PC enthusiast..If u like spending time on your pc, it surely is a good feeling to look at a nice looking case that u chose matching your aesthetic taste and/or your airflow preferences. So I would say : dont cheap out on cases.
Btw very nice that Mr Bear gave his financial go to upgrade your set up, Team PC builder. Finally 1440p and up!
Had to buy a new pc case due to my new fan not being able to fit inside it, your video was a great help thank you so much!
Glad I could help!
This is my PC part picker list code. pLsqCd
List / mXwGpB in PC Part Picker
@@ThatGuyNexttDoorbut if that's something that does really concern you just get the ASRock X670E Steel Legend Motherboard and that note goes away.
That Motherboard has 2 3.2 Gen 1 Headers vs the ASUS or Gigabyte White B650 Motherboards which have 1. Having 2 on the Motherboard makes that note go away through again it's not a big deal.
It's / QLWgB in PC Part Picker.

Very excited about the Montech XR, can't wait for it and the mesh version to be released in my region! Do you think the Montech stock fans are good or is it worth replacing them with something else?
Me too! I am planing to build in one soon and planing to use their fans
My pick for ITX is the Dan A4-H2O. It supports gpus like the 4090 while still being super small, as well as liquid cooling
Nice! Thanks for sharing
woah, cat in the back was brave stepping over those cpu and plaque lol
He's a little super cat lol
Fractal all the way for me. So much thought goes into their products.
I got a Corsair 5000D cuz it got fairly high praise from other PC TH-camrs 😅
I'm going for a White build and Montech King 95 Pro just looks simply Majestic. Also the number of fans with bottom ones for GPU are a plus.
Nice!
@@Bballfan1992 Yeah, I'm going for the same motherboard with RX 7800xt by Sapphire. Will take not of the rest you recommended. 🙌
I do enjoy your videos and the hands gimmick at the start is great but that's the hand signal for "go ahead" or "proceed slowly".
Well said!
That's the case I bought.
I currently have a Corsair Obsidian 750D Airflow Full Tower case but thinking when i do my upgrade to purchase the new Corsair 9000D and move what I am keeping from my current machine into the newer super case when it is eventually released.
I would only worry about upgrading your case if you have maxed out your GPU and CPU choices
Hi Jason!
I really like the
Sharkoon V1000 RGB, mATX case
It comes with 3 Argb fans, has good airflow and an internal CD drive-slot. I miss the days where every laptop and tower pc had internal drives
In my region it costs 75€ including taxes or 60€ without taxes.
Nice! Thanks for sharing
Gracias señor por sus videos. Los veo hace tiempo y es mi primer post. Primero que todo excelente su información, bien redactada, categorias, precios, etc
Un like obviamente. Y comparto sus videos para que la gente vea más allá de lo que puede ser, armas un pc.

Muchas gracias! Thanks so much for watching and sharing, glad you're enjoying the channel! Saludos from the States! :))
@@PCBuilderChannel gracias. Y que tenga una excelente jornada señor
Places like Australia and New Zealand, buying a PC case is hard and must consider the physical size, because many Matx cases wont fit a 3x fans GPU and we don't really have enough options for both PC cases and GPUs.
i want a tower case with proper fan mounts without any glass. I dont want to see inside or buy rgb. Hard to find
Thanks for sharing!
Whenever I am working on a new build, I always find myself coming to your videos to pick the case I build in. I appreciate the consistent updates and hope they continue to come!
That's so great to hear! Thank you for the feedback it means a lot. Best wishes on the build!
Just make sure to get a case which can fit the Ryzen 4070!
Definitely important to check your GPU of choice can fit in the case
Glad to see the Hyte Y40 on this list. I chose this case for my 7800x3d/4080S build because it just looks so good & offers vertical gpu mounting. I have mine fully spec’d out with fans and my thermals are fantastic. I play @ 4k & GPU never goes above 70•C~ even in the most demanding games.
Why did you not consider the antec c5 argb? 130 euros with 7 argb preinstalled fans, plenty of space and better temps than the h6 flow.
Seriously man, well done as always. There's a reason I turn to your videos whenever I consider new parts for a build.
Thank you so much! Glad to help
I love my bequiet case. It came with 3x120 and 1x160 of their RGB fans all pre installed and cable managed very well. It has easily removable screens and keeps everything nice and cool and of course does it quietly.
Thanks for the tip!
Is liquid cooling quieter than air cooled in general? I hate noise but also really like to see the well designed system with lighting.
Yes
I'm just wondering, for the H6 Flow, it doesn't have any dust filters on it - is this a problem? Because I want this case ...and did you say that only intake should actually have dust filters and not the exhaust? Thanks!
Wow, Aqua 3 case $59. Insane! The Montech looks amazing for $63!!!
Holy Cow Batman….. you knocked this out of the park!!! Not one bad case and every single one was a value for its category and class.
Thank you!
I've had my Phanteks Eclipse P400 for over 4 years and can't quite justify upgrading it. I often daydream of a complete new build, hence my viewership here rn. thanks for the video!
Nice! And I know the feeling, once you start building its hard to stop (:
I used Lancool 216 for my first build a few months ago. I love it sometimes I just turn my pc on to look at it.
Right?
I just got the lian li 216 for $50, open box from microcenter! Amazing and well thought out case. You can tell they really used their brains when designing it. Pleasure to build in.
Nice!
Love my white Montech King especially with it being on the best premium list!
Just picked up an a3 lian li case for my micro atx build. $70 for a good lian li case just have to figure out where to add fans if needed.
Hey Jason! What are your thoughts on these following 2 Micro-ATX Cases?
- JONSBO/JONSPLUS Z20 Micro-ATX Case
- ASUS A21 Micro-ATX Case
See our mini tix build section! The JONSBO is our #1 pick
@@PCBuilderChannel Thank you!
16:23 What does the RX means here? I can't find a Lancool 216RX here in my country.
I'm looking for a pc case atx
Preferably mid tower. I perfer on the smaller side so table can fit it in kind of tight on space. My best option right now is to place it on the lower shelf on my desk
Been looking to start a new build and this is exactly what I have been looking at for the last two weeks!! thank you Jason!!!
Glad to help! Best wishes on the build!
What about the thermaltake 300 micro tower? It's so pretty!
I've been thinking about that one or the bigger 500
Thanks your thoughts. I would add the Lian-Li Vision Chrome. Besides its beauty is the two rear fan capability to move the noise away from the user.
Thanks for sharing!
currently rocking the montech air 100 argb.
Awesome! Best wishes on the build!
I have the Lancool 216. What an excellent case! Air flow, assembly, maintenance, everything the way you always wanted.
yeah I got the 216 after watching one of Jason's guides, best case I have used and looks good too.
@@russhodgson5209 It's a damn good case

WELCOME BACK TO PC BUILD IMMM JASON !!! best moment of the video.
Happy you like that :)) Thanks for tuning in!
I bought a Asus ap201 never got around too utilizing it as I decided I want a atx case instead of micro atx size case. Is the fractal North any good?
Fractal North is a great case if you are looking for wood panels
I want a horizontally mounted motherboard and am interested in a Thermaltake Tower 300 micro case. Do you think this is a good one?
Thermaltake generally makes good stuff! Their pricing just prevents them from making the cut here
I'm waiting on the lian li lancool 207, supposed to go on sale this year for like us$80, for my next build.
very similar to the 206/216 in look & design as a front intake atx case with those larger paired front fans, but it moves the power supply up front to open the space directly under the motherboard for a pair of sunken intake fans, supplying fresh air directly to the gpu without taking up extra space in the main compartment. two front and two bottom intake fans should balance with the one rear exhaust fans plus typical three fan top exaust aio cpu cooler, with the front two fans being larger and the aio having to push through the radiator giving the desired overall positive pressure.
What do you think of the Lian Li A3?
You missed antec c5. It's a great buy as it comes with "7" pres installed argb fans.
how does the NZXT H5 Elite compare to the H7 elite? they are both in relatively the same price range and was looking between the two
I bought a Montech Sky 2 GX. Not a bad case. Then I bought a incompatible xmp ram for my b650 motherboard. I knew something like this would happen trying to build my own pc and going for cheap deals. The user reviews said it worked turns out it only works if I don't turn xmp mode on.....
Thanks for sharing!
Both are good options. Just depends on how much you want to spend.
Either skip protectiom plan.
And if you are spending 300+. Might as well get the 6800. Both are best value
6750XT is a good combo with the 12400f. Generally you want the most powerful GPU that fits your budget so going higher than that is up to you. See our latest GPU Market Update video for more, we rank all the best GPUs there
could somebody please explain to me how to know which screws go where? i tried building a pc and i knew where to put everything but when it came to placing screws, nothing had any labels or instructions on which to put where when sizes were very slightly different or sometimes exponentially different and i couldnt tell anymore, needed someone to finish the build for me
It can be a lot I know! Check out our "how to build a pc" video, that might help get you started

After the Montech xr, I bought the Lan Cool 216 which I kept. Nice to see it on this list here. Great info Jason thanks
