    Perks of traveling alone - you're more open to meeting people. Which 9 times out of 10 brings on even more cool adventures and experiences.

    Yes, there are almost no tourists at Railey, Phra Nang beach at the moment because of the current situation. But beware, under normal circumstances, same like Phi Pi island, and the like, this beach would be flooded by tourists, speedboats and long tail boats and I doubt it would be a joyful experience to be there. Gladly I made it to Phra Nang beach way before it was discovered by mass tourism, about 35 years back in time. I am so thankful I could experience Thailand at that time. Well done vid, Patty. It brings back some lovely memories of those great times.

      Agreed. I was there in 2014 and it wasn't great. Way too many people everywhere to really be able to soak in the beauty of it all. I'm actually in Koh Lanta now and was in Ao Nang a few days ago. Skipped Railay and went to some other beaches and sites in the Krabi area. All gorgeous, and not that many tourists of course.

  • @scstudios8

    Railay is such a chill beach. I am so glad I went there. Only accessible by boat keeps it under control so its not some wild party place. Tons of food options and lots of fun stuff to do, lots of nice boat trips from that area. Its one of the best trips I have ever taken.

    It's the wonderful part of travelling, meeting up with people who are relaxed enough to share their experiences. People who wouldn't normally give you the time of day back in the suburbs. Bit like a passport to the University of Life!

    I absolutely LOVE Railey and Tonsai beaches! It's so sad to see those beautiful and special beaches empty. By the way, what you saw on Tonsai wasn't abandoned. It's like a climbers' camp. Everything is simple and there are no fancy resorts but some wooden cabins where climbers can eat and sleep and relax between climbing session. For me, it is actually better than Railey, because it's super cheap, people are very mice, the food is great, and every night there were some cool parties, which you cannot find in Railey side. I hope things will get better soon. The Thai people there are the best and I'm sad to see that they have no work these days. I hope you'll go back there after covid is going away...

  • @brothersman524

    Cool video Paddy
    Been to Railey 3 times:
    Once we did a sunset tour at Phra Nang and had dinner there before heading back to Ao Nang. The other 2 times were exploring Phra Nang, West Railey, Ton Sai and East Railey. We did the lazy route from West Railey to Ton Sai by taking the Thai boat - didn't fancy going through the jungle though

    • @TeamMystic851
      @TeamMystic851 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you don't mind me asking, which was your favorite part(s) of your trip to Railey? I'm planning to go there too on my trip to Thailand. Would really appreciate it!

    • @brothersman524
      @brothersman524 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TeamMystic851 The favourite part(s) were definitely Phra Nang and West Railey. I had sunset dinner on Phra Nang Beach and it was awesome with an amazing sunset. I'll say East Railey wasn't the best but in order to go to Phra Nang and West Railey, you will have to go though East Railey Beach. Tonsai beach is good and definitely far less busy

    Patty I just did a 7 day asq quarantine. Just before it went back to 14 days. It was like solidary confinement. But I did it alone and my phone broke on day 4 so I was in Thai tv hell for a few days. I would not do it again. The worst is the covid test required 72 hours before flying. That is another story. Loving Thailand now!
