Oddly your Hawaii series made me quite sad. I always assumed Hawaii was full of all this native Hawaiian culture. However, to see the erasure if native language, religion, culture and indigenous peoples broke my heart. Hawaiian surely have gone through a lot with colonialism but I didn’t know it was this devastating

The “green” sand was kind of... sort of... a musty, moldy green... and brown mix.
I'm sorry for such a rubbish recommendation with the green sand beach. I swear it was green when I last went there 6 years ago! Sad to see your BI series coming to an end but loved every second of it ❤
I think they just went at the wrong time. Green Sands should be an all day thing. Nevertheless, it's still beautiful!

Oh my gosh seeing you guys hit all the spots I went to last year on the Big Island - including the freaking Flyin' Hawaii Coffee food truck (which we also stopped at since we were desperate for some *real* coffee) - is kinda freaking me out and more than a little surreal. Have seriously loved this entire series xx
Probably the most authentic Hawai’i travel series I’ve seen on TH-cam. Best travel tip if you’re planning to go there, go with someone who’s from Hawai’i! The locals are hesitant to broadcast the “best” places on the island, in fear of the nature being damaged by an influx of tourists (I grew up in Hilo and Kona and lived in Honolulu so I can attest to this)

when the tide isnt so high you can climb down by the water and the sand down there is greenish. There are small bits of green sea glass mixed in the sand that give it its color. It is kinda worth it to just chill down there.
Jo Yu it's actually not glass, it's crushed olivine, which is produced by the volcano, I am a local, I know.
