    I commented on one of your other videos before I found out and after I found out I needed surgery! Currently 7 1/2 weeks post-op from meniscus repair! I can walk normally. PT wants to continue due to still having weakness in my quad. I last bent it to 128 degrees. I know you had a more intensive surgery, but you have helped me get through this! Thank you for posting and giving people courage to keep going!

      I'm happy to hear you're doing well, and yes the quad weakness seems to take a bit longer to get rid of but I'm sure you'll get there soon! Very glad the videos helped, good luck in the rest of your recovery!

    Myself and my daughter have been watching your videos - she did a buckle meniscus tear along with full ACL rupture playing football (shes 15). She is 2 weeks post surgery (hamstring graft, repair to meniscus and stabilisation fascia put in) and so far so good. Very similar to yourself and we also have a Labrador on the support staff too! Ive found your videos the most useful and relevant on here so please keep them coming! Best wishes for your recovery, from the UK 🙂

    good to hear from you! congrats on nice rehab process :) i'm 5 months post op, i think we're at the same stage!! i can sooo relate to the setbacks, i personally slipped one time and i was just scared to death i re-teared again... so good to hear a calm reaction to a setback bc there's no need to panic, right?! i find it hard to stay calm and stable most of the times...i also observe i can walk faster and more ecc after a major strengthening workout, i love the feeling of walking out of the PT and feeling like world is my oyster hahaah keep it up & we have to stay strong girl! cheers xx

      i'm 9 weeks post ACL surgery , the pain in my knee cap going up and down stairs is the main concern for me. but i'm trying not to be anxious with my healing process. i'm just curious about who all has this pain or is it only me and for how long should it last.

    I'm in week 4 after my ACL and meniscus surgery. I can fully straighten my knee and can bend it to about 100° now. I should be able to bend my knee to the maximum by week 12. I’ve been walking without crutches since week 3. The only pain I still feel is where my largest scar is. There's still a long way to go. Wish You only the best.

    Sorry to hear about the setback. I was trying to compare the leg's size, but the dust mirror didn't let me😂, just kidding. I am almost 3 months into recovery and I can bend my knee 125. Hopefully, the doctor give the green light to go back to work in January. I hope you fully recover soon! Thanks for the update!

    @megmed2860 hey 🙂 sorry to hear about the setbacks recently. I bet jogging felt really weird the first time? How are you getting on with step downs now? I'm just past 4 months, not jogging yet, but I have started light skipping for a few minutes, feels like I have a bit less tension in the muscles and knee after. Might be one to ask your PT if it's something you will be allowed to do as it's low impact. Really happy that you are back to progressing and seeing gains. Have a great Christmas Megan 😊

    Hello Megan,
    Thank you very much for your videos. My name is Carlos and I ruptured my ACL, damaged my meniscus, and got a micro fracture of my cartilage back on 5-21-23. From your videos I heard that you ruptured your ACL and meniscus. How are you doing after almost 7 months of surgery?
    Are you trying to get back to sports at all?
    If you are, How is your physical therapy going?

    • @megmed2860
      @megmed2860  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So sorry to hear about your injury :( I am currently thinking I will just be running once I recover, and will probably not be playing any contact sports like soccer anymore. I'm sure there may be some times in the future when I'm fully healed that I might try more intense activities but I'm sure I will be nervous for the first few years! Right now I just started trying to jog a little bit but I'm having some pain with jogging so I've had to back off and mostly just walk. Not sure if it's tight muscles or something inside the knee, fingers crossed it stops soon. Best of luck with your recovery!

    • @carlosmedina8512
      @carlosmedina8512 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Megan,
      Thank you very much for your response. I started to jog on 12-09-23 with the help of my therapist, and it hurts especially when you land with your surgical leg. My best advice for you is to work with a therapist that specializes on getting knee injured patients like you and I back to sports. I am telling you this because there are some therapist whose main focus is only to get your mobility back. Those might not be able to help you. My therapy right now consists on straightening the quadriceps and hamstrings of the surgical leg. I lost a lot of strength in my leg due to the knee injury.
      I have noticed that the pain on the surgical leg has reduced when jogging. This is due to the physical therapy I am doing. Once you start doing more therapy that focuses on getting back to running you will feel more confident and hopefully the pain and fear of getting injury will start to go away.
      Best of lucks Megan on your recovery and I hope you get back to what you enjoy the most soon!

    Sorry I have a question, why did you say you’re not supposed to bend past 125 degrees for atleast a year? Sorry was just curious as I’m almost 3 months out and only at 120, and have a goal of about 135 that I really want to get to asap.
    P.S.
    you are awesome and your videos have been keeping me afloat for since my surgery a couple of months ago. Thank you you’re content I’m sure has touched and helped a lot of people like me I’m sure

      Thank you so much for your kind words, I'm so glad the videos have been helpful! As far as bending, I was told to try to avoid bending my knee past a certain point due to my meniscus repair, because when you bend your knee past 125 ish it puts a lot of strain on the meniscus that was just repaired. With that being said, I have definitely bent my knee past that point over the past several months so I am mostly trying to avoid load bearing exercises with my knees super bent. Best of luck with the rest of your recovery, you got this!

    Hi, I am glad you are doing well. I watched your first video where you explained how you tore your ACL, meniscus while playing football. My question to you is will you return to football and play again? I recently tore my medial meniscus 3 grade tear. I can't make up my mind whether I should do surgery to return to MMA, kickboxing and BJJ. Thanks' in advance.

      Definitely a hard decision for me, I think I will most likely stick to running more than contact sports once I recover just because I think I will be too nervous to re-tear or tear my other ACL (and I feel like it's always when you're nervous that you get the most injured unfortunately lol)@@maxwellanderson007

      Hi! I'm doing well, basically back to normal with knee pain here and there. I did PT 2 times a week. I can't remember exactly the exercises in that time frame but I think it was when I started building my quad muscle strength back up so things like step ups onto a stair, bike, etc

      @YonavKingOfficial I am 7 1/2 weeks post-op. Swelling was going down but recently past like 1-2 weeks it's been flaring up. PT said the swelling is normal due to the meniscus repair, said if I had a menisectomy I probably would be back to normal lol.

    • @megmed2860
