Thank you Dr Portela. I’m 67 and I’ve had flushing rosacea for at least 20 years. I’ve camouflaged with Dr Jart Cicapair and I’ve moisturized with rich products. Last year I had V-beam laser therapy and it was wonderful. I’m going again in a month as the treatment lasted me 6 months. Between all these therapies I feel I can get a handle on it.
I appreciate your insights on the three types of rosacea, but I think we should also consider ocular rosacea. It’s an important fourth type that shouldn’t be overlooked, as it plays a significant role in the overall understanding of the condition.
Thank you for this video. Could you please discuss what products can be used for anti-aging if you have rosacea? I’m not able to tolerate vitamin C or retinol 😢
I got diagnosed with Morbihan syndrome today.. stemmed from rosacea. It’s so rare and feeling pretty helpless at this stage as I know I’m about to spend a tonne of money I don’t have trying to fix it.
Doxycycline worked amazing the first time, so when my rosacea got bad again,I took it second time and it did nothing!! I was so confused and sad 😕 I just started azelaic acid, hopefully that gets it under control.
Im allergic to cyclins thanks to a derm doc. But its whatever.....im a horrible pt, as I do what im not supposed to do with my face & Rosacea, but Ive actually finally found a routine that works and makes my face feel better. Now just to keep up with my evening routine.
I have been struggling for 1 year😢 Sometimes I have attacks when I get excited. I use azelaic acid serum really great btw ı feel it .Compared to my whole life, last 1 year .I used sunscreen every day . I paid attention well I can already say that forty percent of demodex cases die. I have fewer attacks I hope one day it will all pass ( ı was using accutane 2 years ago for my pimples doc didnt say sunscreen 🧴 in sensitive period thats why ı think its caused )
I'm in so much pain with my rosacea. Once it starts all my face stings and my nose hurts so much.. it comes on with heat so when I go to bed I can't sleep because of the pain everywhere in my head.
I have dealt with acne rosacea most of my adult life. It was so bad that it would literally itch. I was on so many creams that didn't help. Only thing that helped was minocycline. Of course I fell through the cracks, stopped seeing previous dermatologist and my regular Dr continued to prescribe it. Thanks to you for pointing out that wasn't good to take for so long. Funny enough, since being through menopause, haven't had issues with itching. I seriously think I have a combination of all 3 you talked about. Is that possible?
Hi Dr, I am currently on Ivermectin cream for my rosacea. I want to know if I can layer vitamin c serum on top of Ivermectin in AM. Using Azelaic and tretinoin on alt night in PM. Thx love ur videos ♥️
Very interesting and complete video. Then for me it was a surprise to see it because I took some of the photos used in it, including the ones on the cover ☺ Rosacea is a topic that is very close to my heart.
I have rosacea, I didn’t know it when I went to a dermatologist . I am suprised she took one look at me and told me she would prescribe me tretinoin cream. This is exfoliating and would not help my situation at all. Thankfully I was hesitant to use it. Instead I will do hydration cream cleanser, hyaloronic acid, moisturizer, and I’m thinking ivermectin because I know mine is a demodex problem. Don’t know if I should do anything else. I know it’s a demodex issue because my dog was sleeping on my pillow and I got demodex,it’s been hard to rid of. I just discovered the correlation between the 2 issues.
I have erythematotelangiectatic rosacea, what is your thoughts on using red light therapy for treating this? Also, you said not to exfoliate or use retinol, what would be good to remove dead skin and help with fine lines and wrinkles? TIA
Thank you for this informative video. I am mature woman and since last September (it's December) my skin was attacked with redness and pimples. I could not cure it and it was so depressing for me that I actually avoided going to grocery store. Thank God for delivery service. I googled all over Internet to self diagnose it. No website even mentioned Rosacea. Just acne. Even my doctor didn't mentioned rosacea. Finally my dr send me to dermatologist and I had to wait 2 months to get appointment. Dermatologist said it's rosacea. I didn't quite believe it because I was only aware of rosacea as redness no pimples. I saw couple videos on rosacea but this one is the best. Informative and recommendations are simple. After a week of treatment my skin is getting better. Not perfect yet but better. Thank you.
I have just been diagnosed with type 2 rosacea after thinking I had folliculitis in my beard for almost 2 years now. I get big red raised bumps that cause my face hairs to fall out. I am trying to figure out what moisturiser can work with me. We think I am sensitive to niacinamide which is really annoying because it is in every skin product these days. On an unrelated note. You are really handsome :)
If you want to fix a red face naturally, then You need a multipeptide collagen and keratin treatment with growth factors for longer lasting results. Skinlyte has a soap that is loaded not only with collagen but also keratin peptides. It is called Hair & Whole Body Bar. According to what I read on Amazon, it is fast absorbed because it has an enhanced peptide binding enhancement technology which produces water molecules in a condensation reaction that hydrates skin and hair naturally. It repairs, grows hair, naturally moisturizes, rebuilds and strengthens hair and skin. I got it on Amazon and I am impressed with new benefits I discover every time I use it. I noticed many improvements in my hair, skin and nails. What I like best about it is that it's all natural and without harmful chemicals such as synthetic dyes, fragrance, SLS or preservatives.
I have seb derm and Rosacea. I use ketoconazole on the scalp and face for seb derm, is this ok? will ketoconazole make rosacea worse? I also use CeraVe moisturiser after my shower. I am really struggling with a red face and nose and really don't know if I'm doing the right thing. Thanks for your video
I am the same situation with you now, i dont have pimples and i dont have dandruff on my scalf its just seb derm/rosacea on my face and chest, after 2 weeks of steroid cream from doctor seems to make it worse have you find solution?
I have both too! I have noticed an improvement after taking a zinc supplement. You can also try an omega 3 supplement as that helps with inflammation and people usually with eczema are deficient. Diet is really important and so is skincare. Don’t use any harsh products on your skin. I noticed when I was using salicylic cleanser on my face seb derm got worse. So use a gentle cleanser just as it’s mentioned in this video and then use lots of hydrating products. If you have acne rosacea you can use Mandelic acid at night after cleansing, it has antibacterial properties and will help absorb in other products you use after it. You can try layering essences for hydration. Use sunscreen as a final step in the morning and the cicaplast as a final step in the night routine to lock in all the moisture
People look at me now and think I never had skin issues. I had such bad acne on my forehead and chin and would avoid going out when it flared. Do you need a 1064 laser to remove telangiectasia?
My mum tried a daytime Cerave moisturiser last year, and said that stung her face quite badly. She lives in the UK and it's challenging to get the help she needs for her rosacea. I wonder if the Cicaplast would be a better choice for her? She's highly reluctant to try any products after the Cerave incident, but I've heard great things about this product. What are your thoughts? Oh, and thank for all of this great information - I'm going to send her this video!
My dermatologist prescribed me azelaic acid for Erythematotelangiectatic rosacea and haven’t noticed a change. Should I stop? I thought it was more aimed towards type 2? Many thanks.
I had taken 3 session of laser treatment, there is little improvement but not much so not really able to understand if it is rosecia or what and how to hanle it. Can you give some advice to find out what issue is creating redness?
I keep asking my dermatologist about laser and she keeps saying no. I’ve actually asked more than one. I don’t understand. The redness seems permanent and is painful. Also, is it possible to be allergic to ivermectin? I had the cream from a compounding pharmacy and it made my face worse, really red and very painful. I also am took oral hydrochloraquin and had similiar side effects. I’m at a loss

Agree, i have ocular rosacea when I have a bad flair up. I have some success with lotion with oat in the products.
Thank you for your sensitivity to these facial issues, what they create with quality of life and the helpful hints.
You are so welcome!
What a super human being you are. Respect

I'm glad you did too!
Thankyou so much foe this video!! It is the best video I've seen on rosacea! Helped me understand so much how to treat my condition ❤
You have beautiful skin.
Best and most informative video i have watched. I wish you were my Dermotologist.
This was the best, most clear, video about rosacea. Thank you! I’m adding cicaplast and Dr Jart products. I get BBL and agree it is very effective!

Can doxycycline help with Erythematotelangiectatic rosacea? Mu dermatologist said it will help with the inflammation. What can stop flare ups?

Cicaplast has shea butter. Isn't that a common trigger for rosacea? Aren't oils bad for rosacea?

Vanicream light has done wonders for my rosacea skin, I would try this one if it’s available in the UK. Very bare bones moisturizer

Hello Dr. I use laroche posay as facial cleanser, is that okay?
I'm surprised he didn't mention that. I use it and the Cetaphil. I have no negative reactions to either.
