To me, the ending feels like he told all his friends he was making a movie and hired them but then realized after it was written that it fucking sucked and tried to save face by calling the whole thing a joke.

i just remember mgk is the guy who tried to say he'd sleep with kylie jenner when she was a minor and made attempts to justify it tbh. Dudes a cornball and frankly it doesn't surprise me that he's made a terrible movie. Making a movie is hard, and writing a script is a task unto itself. Props for actually getting a movie together but it's just a shame that it had to be a lame one. At least we have something to laugh at .
You aren’t wrong Gabi look at how dumb the plots to the movies Half Baked, How High, Every Harold & Kumar Movie, and Pineapple Express were but since they all were executed perfectly they have all become Cult Classics.
It feels like if celebrities tried to create a weird live action spin off of bojack horseman but it’s impossible for celebrities to do it since the whole show is mocking hollywood stigmas

You are absolutely right about it being a long TH-cam skit. It reminds me of the early to mid 2010's when all the "Comedy" channels started getting HD camera's and decent production money, but the actual writing and acting was still 2-3 steps behind.
they act like the movie was filmed in 80s where communicating with someone who's just one drive away is difficult. we don't even miss people now with how much ways of communicating we currently have and they act in this movie like finding ways to talk to someone is so hard.
The point of the jokes is that they're so bad it's funny. But this only works when the actors are good. That's probably why only Pete Davidson's character could make you laugh
