  • While the United States bishops debate the best strategy to promote Eucharistic revival, it is plain that the most certain path is to return to the Church's traditional liturgy.

We speak of all of the young people at the TLM. That is true. What is also true is that, not so young people as myself have now fallen in love with Jesus at the TLM.

What a great video! You may be interested to know that at my parish here in the UK the altar is, after 56 years, soon to be returned to its original position, complete with altar steps. Even now, with the altar still in its versus populum position, all Masses, including novus ordos, are said ad orientem. So there is definitely reason to be hopeful.

I agree with your thoughts. Even on my Catholic Facebook pages, though, for some reason, certain Catholics try to rationalize what they are doing (women lectors, Communion in the hand etc., etc.) - instead of reaching for something higher. Boy would I love to send this to some Priests...we will see.

    Dude!!! Boniface!!!
I just discovered your channel! Only when I heard you introduce yourself as Boniface and given the channel name I realized you were the guy behind my favorite blog in like 2005. Back before I stopped using blogs because of the convenience of social media. I'm glad I found you!

Excellent points all the way around. Sounds like Fr. Stravinskas was looking for the TLM but took a 180 degree turn to come back where he started. I go to a Diocesan Indult Latin Mass and am thankful that it exists....but it exists because a small group of TLM faithful. I have only seen it grow in the last 4-5 years. Thanks be to God's will.

Cradle catholic here, but I might. It sound too much like a protestant... what I think will really revive faith in Jesus's presence in the eucharist is our real friendship with Him nurtured every day in prayer, especially prayer with scripture. Athanasius, the father of the church, wrote about how Jesus drove out demons in Egypt through his close friend St Antony of the Desert... how awesome would it be if Christians in our age could witness Jesus doing that in our world.

This article as you do aptly explain falls under the category of the blatantly obvious being lost on blind men. Such a shame. Outstanding video…one that addresses all of the concerns that caused me to leave a reverent novas ordo and commit to a TLM parish.

Absolutely, but good luck in getting these bishops to understand it!

The good Fr quoted certainly does make the case for the full return to the TLM, hard to understand how he connects his dots. Have a blessed day!

    Dear Boniface:
I know Fr Stravinskas personally, as he often comes to my church to celebrate Mass and Vespers. His sermons are always right on the money when it comes to Catholic dogma and what Holy Mother Church has taught for two millenia. I usually find myself nodding in approval when he gives a sermon. Laudetur Iesus Christus nunc et in saeculum!

With all due respect, brothers and sisters, the Church is not going back to the "TLM", nor should it do so. Aside from small communities in the US, France and the UK, there isn't much interest in the extraordinary form. People can relate to a mass in their own language, and there's nothing sacred about Latin. The early Church spoke Greek, after all.

The majority of Catholics who go to the TLM are the minority of Catholics who stayed.

You're in grave error if you think that the liturgical language is our only or main problem with NO.

What is church attendance in your country like right now, vs. in 1960? If vernacular liturgy is the key to getting people to "relate", why is attendance dropping in so many countries?

Thanks for the jokes and funny remarks. I have heard this whole *People are not interested in the TLM* yet whenever I go to the TLM it is packed to the walls. So yes keep wearing your blinders.
