Everytime I go haz res I get hit with atleast 3 other ships at once

Bring nothing (except limpets) in your cargo hold and wait for them to scan you and realize you don't have anything they want. Once they fly off after scanning you then you will have a better time getting the drop on them.
Don't agro any of them when you first drop it and they are all coming over to scan you.
