I have noticed that during periods of very heavy wifi or cell data traffic it can get a bit warm, but nothing the hardware cant handle. Still performs as well as when I got it, although the battery life is one thing I have not been too impressed with. After an average work day of 8 hours (i use it off and on to check email, navigation, directory apps and some other stuff) its around 20% left and needs to go on the charger by evening. Camera is good in regular light, not good in low.
@BleakVision I don't know what's up with the pinch/zoom lag in this video, but on mine I pretty much have zero lag (using dolphin browser, not the built-in one). Perhaps that has something to do with it, but this is seriously a very snappy phone. No complaints here.
I hope you're liking it..I've had this phone for about a month now and dropped it already a couple times, can't even find a scratch...on top of that the battery life is (comparatively) superb, better than any large android phone I've tried...the camera rocks, sound quality is excellent, and the OS zips by with no hiccups. I didn't like the stock browser though, but I use dolphin now and it's a pretty much perfect phone! I mean what else can I ask for really?
@ilikepieism There are usually button combinations on phones that reset it if it freezes. It probably says the combination in the instructions or something.
(Cont.) As far as durability, I've dropped the phone (without a case) straight onto concrete or tile floor on a couple of occasions, and there are only some minor superficial scuffs as a result. It can definitely take a beating compared to some devices I've seen. It really grabs a signal too, very rarely do I ever drop below 3 bars whether inside or out. Also I just thought about my battery life comment - I haven't been using the smart actions that can reduce usage, that might help some.
I can't wait for the Motorola Zenith. It will be hot. and then the Motorola Extremist comes two weeks later; i am definitely getting that. Did i say i will be getting the Motorola XXY and FXZ another month after that?
@appleandblackberry :O oh no, thanks for the info bro, but the GSII will have the a quad core tegra 3 chip, i dont think the apples A5 chip can handle that dont you think so?
I am thinking of buying an andriod so your videos are very helpful in deciding which to choose from and I think I might go with the Samson galaxy note 2??
Played with one of these at a Verizon kiosk a few days ago, it was amazingly smooth. The gallery app kinda blows since it's so choppy but other than that it was awesome.
@Khronicks I already saw the reviews for Vivid. It's not better than the Skyrocket or the GS2. Quadrants don't mean much, but just comparing their browsers, you'll notice a difference.
Hey people i need to be convinced which phone is better for me... I am picky with lagginess or choppiness when web browsing, quickly scrolling or sliding pages. BUT I also want a unique phone... I will be on a 3-year plan so i don't want to be disapointed. It is between the Motorola Droid Razr, Samsung Galaxy s2, and HTC Vivid. I love the look of Motorola (Screen and outside looks). The galaxy s2 looks plain but i have never had one so someone please help meeee! And i heard mixed reviews on HTC.
I still haven't seen any phone that have definitively beat the GS2. Skyrocket may kind of be the successor, but it's a weaker processor and if it's anything like the T-Mobile version (which it should be), battery life should also be weaker. Not to mention, the LTE isn't very widely deployed. And 2,500 for the RAZR with such clunky pinch-to-zoom is unacceptable. Now that Adobe is dropping mobile flash support, I wonder if Android will switch to HTML5.
The pinch to zoom lag is unforgivable in late 2011. You reviewer guys are way to soft on Anfroid devices. How bad will the lag get after ICS hits? If anybody wants a lag free Android device go for the gs2 or the note. Galaxy Nexus will have lag, just like the tab 10.1 and 8.9 -> no exynos.
Why are people still trying to compare these far superior Android devices to the VERY OVER RATED iphone? for the life of me I cannot understand this and it would be great for just once if we could see a new device that comes out not be compared to the stupid iphone. People give Apple and the iphone way to much credit for what it really is
thanks for the review aaron! good job on the weight loss too...saw an old droid x2/droid 3 review and the difference is noticeable. props

@MediaWire Atrix has a 1930 mAh battery but not as thin

Great review, I really enjoyed it. I'm so impatient though- I don't know if I can wait for the Nexus.
I am thinking of buying an andriod so your videos are very helpful in deciding which to choose from and I think I might go with the Samson galaxy note 2??
Nexus one 2.2+? Does that mean that the nexus one got that much better performance when it was updated to froyo...?
@jofus21187 I am getting the idea that this is caused but the droids resizing the text to fit the screen. iPhone doesn't seem to do this...
@sds9505 so can it write chinese like it does on the iphone were you can just write the character using your finger on the screen?
Are you still satisfied with the phone? I'm looking to get one. How is battery life, heat, overall phone quality? Thank you

dude, this guy can BLOW. omg. idk if it's his voice or just the fact the he talks SO MUCH.
@Khronicks I already saw the reviews for Vivid. It's not better than the Skyrocket or the GS2. Quadrants don't mean much, but just comparing their browsers, you'll notice a difference.
you should make a lock screen comparison of all the company phones!
Rush hour in Charlotte, Nc is 5:30pm on trade tryon and 85
Anyone notice the steel band closer to the camera gets hot after using the camera on the iPhone 4s?
Why does the zoom seem really laggy? even when you are just zooming on a picture in the gallery! Is it a bug?
@darkchocalate0212 droid razr i was in the same position but you cant really customize iphones like you can with droids
I really like this phone! I need a new one since I'm still on the droid 1
@phonedog
Does it have a true black display?
when is the galaxy nexus coming to t-mobile
I'm holding out for a 2GHZ Quad core, 10 mp camera phone. Sadly or not so sadly I don't think we are far from that.
I can't decide rather I want the droid razr or the iphone 4s....What do you guys think???
@luvmom10 I don't know which one of the 2 to get. I'm upgrading wednesday....

Will it blend?

are running
OMG what!? how did you get so skinny? please tell me! i need to loose like.. 20 lbs!
using razr now, the pinch zoom in the gallery sure is laggy, but this is just need a software update.
Does it have Swype?
@BleakVision Actually ICS has hardware acceleration so it should be much more smooth.

It's $249.99 on their website now.

Non removable battery? What if your phone freezes... I think that's common

I dont know about anyone who has an ipod 4. But mine overheats on a daily basis at the top end near the camera

LOL Why is the speed test have better results then my Charter Cable internet? I am 30 down 2 up, how the hell a phone get 6 up? like like redick.
@salx101 Even high end phones can freeze, I had to send my Motorola ATRIX to get diagnostics done because it shut off so much.
@323abul how old are you, 12??
can the motorola razr read and write chinese?
**BAM! There I am (shocked pose) EPIC Aaron!! 4:34
19 is kinda slow for razr standards. I've seen numbers in the high 40's down.
i bed they didn't add the battery door because it would make the phone thicker
so it really isnt to wide
Camcorder is the same as the Atrix 2 and the Bionic. They're all decent but nowhere near the detail the SGSII outputs.
I think this is going to be my new phone.

This is a $450+ phone and you don't even mention the horrible lag with pinch to zoom @4:56. How am I supposed to trust anything you say from there.
