The thing is, iPhone users aren’t misinformed about how better Android is. They just don’t care. They don’t consume tech videos because they aren’t passionate about tech. Some people buy iPhones to boost their social status, and to them that is a much more important feature than 90hz or foldable screens.
Edit: To the people who are saying "thats not true, I am an iPhone user and care about tech", you are the exception. How do I know that ? Because every year a new iPhone sells more than an Android despite being the same phone, and NO ONE QUESTIONS IT. Because they don't care. They care more about Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson, what their favourite drama TH-camr did, or what their favourite sports team are upto. They don't care about specs. We are living in hyper consumer culture where people constantly show off their new cars, new houses and new...iPhones. To flex. Do you think the average person is gonna think about specs and 90hz, or are they gonna be blinded by FOMO and a desire to flex back ? You guys telling me "nah, I'm passionate", we are in a tech channel. We are in an echo chamber. We are the exception.

I’m an iPhone user, I love tech consumption and IT. The issue is my family doesn’t, they don’t know the first thing outside of iMessage and iCloud. So it just makes things easier to share photos from a day trip, keep up to date in the group chat and have our locations with FindMy. The smoothness of iOS is superb. I can easily switch from an app to the camera without hassle. Fake news af, the Apple ecosystem has become more and more frustrating as time goes on. Apple's "safe approach" to simplicity is making their customization even harder to do. Switching to Android back in 2019 was refreshing to me. Setup was a bit complicated, but the customization was out of the world, to me at least. I now understand why most Android users claimed that they disliked the Apple ecosystem a lot. Although, most who hated iPhones are generally ones that bark at the wrong tree. I, myself, never hated iPhone's hardware, just their software iOS that I've developed a personal hatred for.
It seems that the lack of the "Back Button" would drive Android users crazy. And I didn't believe it myself until I tried it with my first Android phone, and I can't look back at iOS the same way anymore. The back button is literally a requirement for easy navigation. Who could've thought that one single feature could make a difference in people's favors. If there's anyone that's too blissfully ignorant, it's iPhone users. They're missing a whole lot of things Android users are already experiencing.

Stagnant, “samey”, “not innovative enough” or not, the iPhone remains the benchmark for the Smartphone industry. Just look at all the Chinese OEM’s UIs: Colors OS , Hyper OS, Origin OS, Funtouch OS etc, - it’s easy to see where the base inspiration originates from. As an Apple user, it comes down to preference. My iPhone 15 pro dies everything I need it to, and I love how iOS feels. Phones don’t need to be upgraded every year, and when we see phones these days, they look similar to the one before. The S22-S24 ultras look literally exactly the same. At the end of the day use what you want, and that’s all that matters.

  • @ruseruser2227

I think one big problem here that's being ignored is the fact that most people buying Android phones too are not buying those $200 phones. I've gone between iOS and Android over the years and, if it's Android, it's going to be a Samsung, or a Pixel. Other flagship brands sure, but these phones are more or less $1000 class phones just the same.
One thing I think is massively important that has not been considered by the Android crowd is longevity of support. iOS updates are more or less pushed to any iPhone model from the last 6 years or so whereas Android end-of-life was often encroaching at 2.5 to 3 years or so. Quality of life points like that are definitely a strong point of iOS and, while Google did make new promises for 7 years of guaranteed updates, I'd sooner wait and see after another 1-2 years to get an idea of how much they really commit to that, given how much they've backtracked and reneged on prior promises (e.g. Android automatic upgrade program cancelled within months of first update cycle).

IPhone and Android user here. Switched my main phone from Android to iOS 3 years ago when i bought 13 Pro, now on 16 Pro Max. I still use Android daily, i even root and install custom ROM’s on my devices. Android it’s good for what it is, iOS it’s good for what it is. Simple. Why it’s iPhone my main device? Consistency and ecosystem. I might have less functionality and less gimmicks compared to Android but i know everything will work perfectly between my iPhone, 2 iPads, one Apple Watch and one Macbook. Thanks Microsoft for ruining Windows BTW.

@@GamingPIPI around 10 years ago i was flashing a new ROM on my Android on a daily basis. Now i don’t even change my wallpaper so often. My homescreen looks 90% how it was looking 6 years ago on my LG G6. My personal story it’s like that. Main Android user, Xiaomi, LG G6, then a second phone was needed so i bought an iPhone SE second hand, then upgraded to OnePlus 7 Pro, my second phone in use today. I was impressed by SE getting updates even after 4 years. Meanwhile on the tablets hated Samsung because bad experience with Touchwiz so i bought my first iPad, Mini 6 and that slowly got me in the ecosystem. Not going to lie, i liked 13 Pro design a lot so made the switch. Around 3 years ago got myself a 12.9 M1 iPad Pro and somehow i get a free Samsung S9 Ultra last year with a TV promotion. Somehow 5 years iPad it’s superior compared to 4 years newer similar priced Samsung tablet and the whole experience it’s ruined by Samsung software like 10 years ago, amazing screen but pretty much that’s it. I might install a new ROM on it at some stage.
So my migration to iOS/iPadOS/Apple devices in general wasn’t an uninformed decision like some people said in the comments. Was more like an maturity and settling of myself.
Back to my OnePlus 7 Pro that’s in use today as second phone it still holds up but that’s because of the community. Amazing hardware neglected by the manufacturer, pretty much the same story with most of the Android brands. You can DIY but with trade offs like bricking your device, loosing features like banking apps, bugs, etc.
Damn that was a long comment. 😂

      @GamingPIPI 16 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

@ Same for me! I’ve had so many android phones and testing out the features was fun. But now I change my wallpaper maybe once or twice a year. The only times I change things up is for productivity. I made shortcuts, I made a system for my calendar, notes and reminders… I also have the full ecosystem! Slowly I added devices to my household. It just works so great for my productivity. Ipad Pro is my newest device, and it’s amazing. I use it for media consumption and reading and annotating literature for my job. It’s just such a great experience. Android may offer some of the same features, but it is definately not as userfriendly and it’s a hassle to set it all up. Apple products work together straight out of the box. Many people just don’t understand how great this is. And the best part is that now that im older i probably wont feel the need to be upgrading every year. So now that my productivity system has settled, im good for year to come. Most of my devices will be supported until 2030 and beyond. Although I may buy a new iPad and watch somewhere before 2030.

Why do people still buy iPhone? Three main reasons:
    1. They're lured by the cachet of owning an iPhone. There is no cachet in owning a Samsung or Pixel phone.
    2. They like the cohesive ecosystem (Mac, iPad, iPhone, Watch, AirPod, etc.).
    3. They like the Apple Store and Customer Service. These make for a great shopping experience.
They don't need nor care about the latest bells and whistles. The iPhone provides the same basic functions they've enjoyed for over a decade (calling, texting, email, web surfing, music listening, watching videos, running apps, taking pictures/videos). The iPhone has performed these functions satisfactorily since forever.

When the first iPhone came out we already had multiple touchscreen based phones running Windows Mobile. Nokia's were out there but the iPhone was also a refinement of what was already being made even then. Windows Mobile was essentially a reskinned version of WinCE that wasn't optimized for touch and it was clunky. Each phone maker built their own skins over it to make it somewhat usable. The first iPhone streamlined the whole thing and didn't even support 3G even though all those other phones actually did.
The didn't even pioneer capacitive touch. A bunch of phones already had that before the iPhone was even out.

In my opinion what Samsung and everybody else did wrong is to give their phone much longer support. In Germany where I live, there were different Smartphone Users like Samsung User, iPhone user or even Windows Phone User. But besides the fact that iPhone are sadly a status product, their luckily also known for their long support. I remember Samsungs only being supported for 2 years and then only Safety Updates. I had 3 different Samsung Phones. The S4,S6 and S9. Every single Phone sometimes frustrated me how laggy and buggy it was. After 2 Years my Samsung Phone was way too laggy and thats why I decided to try a complete different product which was the iPhone. Now I have the iPhone for 4 Years and Im not rly thinking about buying a new one and its still getting new iOS updates. Even the XS jü(a Phone from I think 2018) got iOS 18. Just now where everyone is slowly moving to iPhone and Apple Products in general, Samsung, Google and everyone else just started extending their support on their devices for much more years than before. Right now Apple convinced me so much with their products and stability, that I really integrated in their ecosystem. But still its very important that Apple gets strong rivals so they dont sleep in their innovations. I mean the iPhone 16 was really a joke and if this is not getting better, then I cant support this company anymore.

I was an avid iPhone user between 2016 and late 2023, I decided to give Android a shot as I didn’t want to support Apple rereleasing the same device every year. I switched 3 Android phones in 1 year, S23 Plus, Pixel 8 Pro and Flip Z 6 and oh boy where do I start. All of these phones were “fine”, but they ridiculously make simple things harder. I despise the volume sliders on Android as I seriously do not need 5 volume sliders, just give me media and the possibility of muting notifications. The fact that my girlfriend’s 15 Pro Max would connect to Android accessories easier than me was just sad. You have to adjust 5 adaptive options in the Pixel to stop it from nuking your battery. Fingerprint sensors are ok (I had optical, supersonic and physical), but in no way can they compare to face ID. Android having “better customisation” possibilities is just a straight up lie. No lock screen widgets, changing individual icons requires adridden third party apps and launchers and don’t get me started on tinted icons that don’t apply to half of your apps. Samsung was better than Pixel as Pixel was just a straight up mess. Horrible cameras, unnatural menus and settings. My Pixel had issues updatint to Android 15 as it would get stuck on verifying data. People on the internet claimed that was normal… Why would that be normal? I had to do a clean install afterwards cause no alternative update options could just update my device without wiping it. Both Samsung and Pixel are horrible when it comes to autofilling verification codes. Samsung has an identity crysis in offering either their services or google services and at some point you don’t even know anymore where you data is saved. So I just recently switched back to iPhone 16 Plus and life became that much easier. Am I a fan of Apple being lazy? No, but if I am paying a premium device, I want it to WORK FLAWLESSLY. The resell value of android flagships is laughable. No way I’m paying ever 800 - 1000 EUR again for a phone that sells for 300 EUR a year later.

    • @generalpork
      @generalpork 12 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

Brodie did not actually try customising very hard 💀 lock screen widgets are something you can get from like 45 different apps.
And yeah, you need apps and icon packs from the app store to get better customization. Something apple does not offer at all 🤧.
Sounds like you got unlucky, I went from an a13 to an a34 to an s24u and have never had those issues. Personally my phones have always worked flawlessly, especially the s24u I have never seen it lag ever. Stuff like customising home screen, and modes and s pen and 45w charging and better batteries matter more to me than a simple ui with no options for personalising my phone should I actually want them.
And I think you've done alot wrong when using it somehow, my buds pair seamlessly and none of the UI besides the settings app is complicated or excessive.

Let's break down a few key points:
    1. 60 Hz
One one side: yes, why does a $800 dollar phone have 60 Hz, what the heck Apple! But if you look at another perspective: 60 Hz? Thank goodness the iPhone costs $800 instead of $850. I don't think is a big deal, I've had a 120 Hz Android before and when I switched back to an iPhone 12 mini, I did feel a difference but it's very easy to get used to and after a while you just don't care.
    2. Lightning Port
Now, Apple did this to make a lot of money, and thankfully this horrible lightning port is gone now. However, this video is about "Apple falling behind" and USB-C is certainly not "falling behind". Why is this included?
    3. Notch/Dynamic Island
This is hard to say because Face ID on iPhone's are the best out there on the market and the most secure, and this notch was required to get all the modules in place. Now, we have a smaller notch that is actually functional (called the Dynamic Island), so on this key point Apple definitely has an advantage over Android.
    4. Apple is always late
Quality over quanity. That's all it is. I've had several Androids before from all price ranges and a lot of the features feel rushed out.
    5. iPhone's are boring
Now, I don't know why this is even a "valid point". Because a phone originated from being a way to send and receive texts and call. So obviously if a phone does this correctly, then it is a good phone. On another side, phones can be fun, but Apple doesn't create toys, but reliable devices to make your daily life better. I've had several Android's before and always bragged to everyone: "Haha, my Android can add special animations to my lockscreen!" and stuff like that. But I just never ended up using any of these features. It's cool, but only the first few times you try it.

One "innovation" Apple implemented but eventually taken away was the pressure sensitive screen called the 3D touch. However, any attempts to make it a weighing scale were removed. I believe it was stuck with the iPhone very long until they finally removed it in the iPhone 11.

Back when Androids had removable batteries and swappable SD Ram cards you couldn't get me to use an iPhone, but now that I can no longer swap out the battery on an Android or easily swap or add SD Ram there is no longer any reason to use an Android other than the price. The fact that iPhone do not come with all this uninstallable 3rd party bloatware that varies from manufacturer to manufacturer is why I switched to using iPhones. I don't need to reconfigure a phone every time I get a new one, I just turn it on and use it.

And that depends on who is making the phone with Android... Samsung vs TCL vs Motorola vs Blu View vs Noka vs HMD vs Pixel... Some phones give you crippled versions of Android.. Often they download bloatware without your permission or even spyware. Some might never update to the lastest Android version, which in itself is decided by the manufactuers.. With Apple, you know exactly what you are getting and they operate all the same.

My brother has note s21 ultra and now bought 16 pro. He used iphone before samsung. Now, in iphone he was trying to find gesture mode. Then i tried as well, we could do something that can go back. And in my $300 samsung from 2021, i can now enable 36 gesture actions from one hand gesture, and 120 gesture actions from ubikitouch. Besides, quick cursor also has gesture, but as it was not with finger, i didn't count.

I consider it as Apple is able to do with 6/8 gigs of ram and 60 hertz displays what android phones need 90-120 hertz displays and 12/16 gigs of ram to do, I always considered it better engineering.
For example, the iPhone 16 plus has 8 gigs of ram, 60 hertz displays, and 48 megapixel cameras and its still faster, can keep more apps open and do more in the background, and has better cameras than the s24 Ultra with 12 gigs of ram, 120 hertz displays, and 200 megapixel cameras.

Funny thing about most comments here is that it's rare to find an Android user who owns the latest Android device whine about an iPhone or how dumb their customers are... because they've recently been to the store and checked what's new and chose what they preferred.
It's like how people with normal speced PCs will go around saying: "Gaming on a PC is better than on a Console", while knowing very well that their PC is not the one they are referring to because they can't run the latest games.
After 8years on the Apple ecosystem, I can tell you that Apple sells practicality and convenience, that's why a lot of TH-camrs use Macs for video editing or even why big companies that runs heavy software are using Macs.
I really enjoy my A55 5G along with the Galaxy Watch 6 but if you thought everyone who owns an iPhone has been "brainwashed", think harder because, for one, Macs do not get viruses, unlike Windows PCs and that alone is enough to get someone to buy an iPhone and an iPad as well just to make their life easier.

Saying Macs can't get a virus is insane. It's still a computer that can be attacked by malware. Large businesses also use Windows. Matter of fact it's easier to have Windows since it's less expensive to license and infinitely easier to repair.

@@SuperSteph5 it is a computer after... anything can happen but there's a difference between your computer being attacked because you clicked a link from an unknown source and your PC getting a blue screen of death for absolutely nothing you did.
Windows PC costs do look cheaper but they are not, Windows PCs requires constant maintenance, repair and upgrade, while on the other hand, Macs don't, unless if it due to negligence. I know people who uses M1 Macbooks who are still getting better performance than most people who are using something that was released this year.
Of course, there might be few reported cases of "infection", but you know very well, that Macs are solid... we can argue this the whole day, but businesses are definitely getting value for money

    • @whatnowZA
      @whatnowZA 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

@@Tom_Nguyen. doing a factory reset just because a relative went out of their way to install something that was never meant to be on the Mac does not make Macs fragile.
Ways a Mac can be broken are always due to user's actions, like phishing attacks where someone clicked a link they were not supposed to or adware. Windows PC just get a blue screen from just sitting idle for a month or slow, they get annoyingly slow week after week until you reboot or do a cleanup, there's just a lot of things that goes wrong on a WIndows PC for absolutely no reason or action taken by the owner.
Your relative's reset are an exception, not the rule. If you know PCs as well as you think you do, you should know that.
After all, there's a reason why Apple does not sell operating systems, the way Microsoft do... because you won't need to have to manually fix a broken software, unless you weren't out of your way to break something.

I don’t view iPhone as a “luxury item that boosts one’s self image”. Maybe it was the case many years ago. To me, it’s just a phone that I can pick up and it works really well. And I know it’s not spying on me (or as much as android phones do). The Mail app is so much better than the Gmail app that comes with android phones. I can see the text. And I don’t care about the refresh rate. I have had every Note Ultra until 20 and some S series after that. None of them work, in a sense that they don’t feel “finished”. They are half baked, and need to be taken back and re-done.

I still use the iPhone XR. The camera is still impressive, although it’s only one lens (I have my Lumix and Canon for more serious recreational photography). The operating system is updated to the latest, thus compatible with newer iPhones. Many people around me have iPhones, so the convenience of Airdrop and other Apple ecosystems is very beneficial. Speaking of ecosystems, I have an iPad Pro and iMac and Mac Mini. They work together seamlessly. I’m an electronics engineer by profession, so I am into and well aware of technology. I don’t need all the bells and whistles for a gadget that, in the end, is utilitarian.
