@@DankPods Simple to explain wy the large FLAC player sound way better.
While your other Phones and iPods can play music nicely on your high resistance headphones they greatly lack in the amplifier department.
The higher you need to set the volume / the higher the distortion gets.
Having a large amplifier helps with lower distortion and can take the generated energy from your large, high resistance speakers swinging back in your headphones way better.
If you plug in the iPod into a dedicated external amplifier it will also sound much better, although not nearly as good since you still have an additional amplifier introducing noise and interference.
Also sorry for the way i tried to explain that.

The amount of capacitors in that thing is.... absurd.
That type of USB port is usually pretty durable, definitely better than a micro port, those flake out in no time. Since it's easy to get into you could have someone that's good at soldering reseat the port, it may just have a weak connection to the board since you mentioned it was always bad even new (otherwise I would argue corrosion maybe).

"ITS BIIIIIIIIG"
When you live in the 80s and need an iPod.
Let's see... early 80s brings the first Walkman and, coincidentally, the death of the 8-Track. By the mid-80s, the CD has emerged and, by the late 80s, the CD "Discman" is somewhat common. (Personally, I've always wanted to see the AU 1982 where some Korean factory pushed out an 8-Man.)

4:30 It is _technically possible_ to get 64 gig and larger Micro-SD's working; the limiting factor is Format.
Modern MicroSD's at 32GB or below are formatted in "FAT32" while larger storage devices are formatted in "ExFAT" - by installing certain programs, you can reformat any ExFAT storage device into FAT32, though keep in mind that larger FAT32 storage will slow data reading from the SD card exponentially as sizes go up.

This was the first DankPods video ive ever watched. And now im wearing Samson SR850s because of him, and have binged nearly every video he's uploaded.
nitpick: the measurement on headphones in ohms isn't resistance, it's impedance which is similar but different in that it doesn't just tell u the load of the headphones but also the headphones' effect on changing the timing/reflecting of waves sent through it.
it doesn't really matter for the average person to know this but if u want to do more reading into why it matters to have an amp then it's good to know the terminology. Also i fully expect someone who knows electrical engineering to come along and give a more in depth explanation nitpicking my nitpick
To oversimplify your nitpick drastically: impedance is to AC as resistance is to DC
Yeah, another interesting thing about impedance is that dynamic drivers like those in the majority of headphones have impedance/frequency curves that vary massively, especially around their resonant frequency. Very important to understand because high output impedance sources like output transformer less tube amps will change the frequency response due to the reactive load
Don't give me FLAC, you have ALAC of a sense of humor!

That is a reason I dislike a slider control for setting the volume. Another reason is that after using it for a while I'm concerned that it will begin to develop a crackling sound as I adjust the volume. That's why I prefer electronic controls for volume, my player (Sony NW-A55) has a hold function that prevents me from accidentally jacking up the volume.
