I used only Season 3 Thrawn stuff. Anyways, I think Season 3 did a good job with Thrawn given that Rebels show airs on Disney XD channel and therefore needs to be more kid friendly. Which means no super deductive skills because a 12 year old kid will think an analysis and finding Atalon was super smart just because Kallus sent a transmission there and it crosses with the trajectory of general Dodonna's fleet, as mentioned in the 1st part of the finale of season 3.
But I liked they kept him alive, they kinda needed to because it would make no sense to kill him in the show when a book was about to come out a month later. Also the way he lost was out of his control, because of Constantine and Bendu.
However, I kinda portraied him too menacing (with regard to the last 30 seconds of the video) compared to his behaviour in the show itself.
Also, does anyone know in which episode I can find the scenes that are in 0:18 and 0:25? I had to take these from the trailer. - ภาพยนตร์และแอนิเมชัน

Thrawn- the bad guy that everyone loves even more than the good guys
The Loyal Stormtrooper He along with Maul were the only reason I continued rebels to the end, Ezra was a cringe protagonist in my opinion.
Mohamed El Kayal Yeah I agree. I mean it’s not even fun to watch them getting attack by the empire. THEY. ALWAYS. SURVIVE. No matter what happens. No matter the might of the empire. The plot armor some of these characters have is completely ridiculous.

Which in a way is a bluff, by orders he is to take prisoners and later stands before them to accept their surrender, but at this stage of the battle, he knows if he offered surrender they would use it as a chance to further stall.

He is not dangerous like a crazed gunman, almost immortal being, or a blood-thirsty gang lord who are dangerous because they do what they want.
What makes him so dominant is his character. He has Imperial schooling in warfare, statistics and tactics, and has mastered the skills to almost perfection; but these are the tools. He is the weapon. He is only dangerous when needed.
For sure, it's the quiet ones you have to watch out for. The ones who don't speak, but remain silent plotting the destruction of their enemies.
I will give Disney its due. Their personification of Thrawn is an absolute masterpiece.
An absolute *shame and disrespect to content that preceded disneys. Zahn should be ashamed of himself for having no integrity by disrespecting his own fanbase though working for a company that disrespected the fanbase that came before disney. and by creating an abonimation which may have well as been written by someone else and terribly plagerized.
This is giving disney it's actual due. Masterpiece - you must be joking.

Grand Admiral Thrawn I do certainly agree, Grand Admiral.
His eloquence is so captivating. How he employs such delicate articulation without any hyperbole is just perfect. The modesty is very intimidating on so many levels.
I wouldn't call myself modest, I simply prefer to state the facts as they are. It's of no tactical advantage to lie about such things at this point in time...

Thrawn and Tarkin are some great villians.
Hopefully, the upcoming "Thrawn Alliances" will get to shed some more spotlight on their dynamic! (assuming that Vader won't hog too much of the spotlight)
Unfortunately: Tarkin laks a certain degree of subtlety.
Thrawn isn't really a villian. He has much more to consider than the measly empire. There are threats out their far more dangerous than tge empire. Thrawn understands what must be done.
I like Krennic as well even though he’s only in Rogue One.
What I love about Thrawn is that you very much get the impression that he's the protagonist of his own story. He's undoubtedly the bad guy, and yet he's written and performed like he's the main character of a book so complex it makes puts Ulysses to shame. He has a motivating goal that caused him to leave his home and become part of an unfamiliar galaxy. He climbed rank against all odds, and once he made it to the top it became his mission to fight a rebel faction sewing discord within the Empire. What makes him feel like a villain despite this (other than his allegiance of course) is the fact that he's leagues above the heroes. He is a real threat to the rebellion in a way very few ever managed to be.
But the empire are the good guys. Rebellion brings chaos and as was the republic, it is weak.
In our interest the empire is much better because they are for the humans supremacy.
Thrawn, Palpatine, Vader and Maul. The voices that give you chills. And only one of those people doesn't possess Force powers or a lightsaber.
Although I could see thrawn teaching himself how to use a lightsaber if the situation made it useful to do.

To be honest, this is the reason I'm an Imperial, because they have some great leaders (some terrible ones as well, sadly), and Thrawn. I would serve under him any day, any time.

I believe that Grand Admiral Thrawn and the Grand Inquisitor are similar in certain ways:
1. Both are aliens who hold position of high authority within the Galactic Empire.
2. Both are skill in close-quarters combat. Thrawn is skilled in unarmed combat and with a blaster rifle meanwhile the Inquisitor duels flawlessly with a lightsaber.
3. Both are calm, tactful, ruthless, calculating and polite towards their enemies.
4. Both have encountered the Ghost Crew rebels from Lothal during their times as the main Antagonist.
5. Thrawn credits his enemy fleet for their talents.
6. The Inquisitor salutes his opponent in the makashi form before a lightsaber duel.
If it wasn’t for plot armour Thrawn would have wiped out the rebels the second the seventh fleet was involved.

Thrawn is the reason I'm an Imperial
He was Imperial from necessity, his true loayality is to the Chiss.
I did a work to my administration class about leadership using Admiral Thrawn's teachings.
Deep down Thrawn was a true opportunist, Seriously he was damn dark, but he had the mind to match it.

In another TH-cam comment section, someone made the very brilliant observation that the dark side of the Force is, in a lot of ways, akin to the One Ring from Tolkien's Legendarium. It preys upon your deepest desires and ambitions, your fears and hopes, whispering sweet nothings into your ear, twisting your nature until you become little more than a shadow of your former self, promising you mastery, but in reality making you a slave to it. And in both LOTR and SW, a major theme is that you simply *cannot* use evil to fight evil. (Fun fact, Dave Filoni is a huge Tolkien fan)

He does his job and he does it well. Why is he with the empire as an only Chis and only alien in High command has a higher reason actually a GOOD reason one would say hes useing the empire youll understand once you read or listen to audiobooks
And people think that Vader is epic, but he is a bully with magic powers -50 off, nothing more.
Thrawn on the other hand truly chills my blood, and sets cold sweat on my back. Well writen indeed.

Palpatine: manipulates the entire Galaxy, positions his war chess in just the right place, creates a dictatorship with him at the top of the pyramid and all while maintaining a believable facade of a humble softness
Thrawn: “Impressive… alright I’ll serve you. But I’ll show you how to strategically take down your enemies without subterfuge.”
The rebels could have taken some strategy lessons from Thrawn. You must get to know your enemy, not just their battle tactics but their history and art. Why they joined the Empire, where did they come from, born into the empire or not. His/ her home planet on good relations with the empire or not? Etc

This is incredible. I love seeing your edits and you tend to use really good music that fits with the feeling of the video. From what you said in the description, it does seem somewhat menacing, but isn't that who Thrawn Is? A shadow looming over everything you stand for and care about, your culture, your thoughts; knowing you and your actions just as well as you would and using it against you. That's pretty damn menacing.

If ya'll like Thrawn, ya'll should read the trilogy Thrawn Ascendancy for his back story.
Hopefully, Thrawn defeats these rebel scum and gets back to his usual duties.

Honestly thrawns military prowess is what Grievous should have had. I'm still salty they did him Dirty in the clone wars in every aspect.
@Austin Garner Haha, yeah. Just the fear the jedi had in the 03 series. "Unstoppable, he is unstoppable" "his strategy is without flaw", that shows you how good a villain he was, and how good obi wan was to be able to hold his own against him.

0:17 I remember watching the Rebels S3 panel and everyone cheering when Thrawn was revealed. It was so loud that you couldn’t even hear Thrawn speak. That crowd was hype and excited that Thrawn came back

As cold and cruel as he is, Thrawn is indeed right about defeating enemies. The only best way to defeat them is to know them. Which is why he is one of my favorite villain.

I wouldn’t even really call thrawn a villain in the traditional term. He cares deeply for his people and has on multiple occasions gone out of his way to help others. The only reason he joined the empire was to see if they would be a threat to his people
That, and there is a massive threat in the Unknown Regions that has him terrified. In Legends, it was the Vong, aka-edgy Aztecs in space. In canon it's the Grysk, who are pretty much Space Huns/Mongols.

With the collapse of both the First Order and the New Republic the Star Wars Galaxy is entering an interstellar Dark Age, with the Old Republic's former member states taking an isolationist stance deeply suspicious of exploitative central government. I can't help wondering what Thrawn would have thought of this.
