Marc Thompson is by far one of, if not, my favorite narrator. Each of his voices for the characters is so distinct that you can hardly believe it's one person. I especially love his Thrawn voice, both of them.
Thrawn, to me, will always be the most dangerous enemy one can possibly face in Star Wars. While someone like Vader is physically imposing and will terrify you on the field of battle, Thrawn only meets you on said field when he has already won.
@@aziaq1585 Vader is a good tactician, but he emerges victorious through brute force fighting side by side with Imperial Soldiers. Thrawn on the other hand is... a brilliant tactician, one who has won a battle before it even began. One who is always not one, but two steps before his enemy.
Grand Admiral Thrawn is the best character in Star Wars. Every word he speaks leaves me inspired and with goosebumps on my skin. His brilliant and insightful speeches make Palpatine and Vader look like meek armatures in the art of villainous monologues. Also, this whole time I was wondering why Tarkin had no lines. Then he finished the video with those iconic, chilling words. In a vacuum, a calm, almost pleasant sentence, but one that carries a horrifying context when spoken by the commander of the Death Star. The simple phrase that sends a chill down your spine and will cost millions if not billions of lives: "You may fire when ready".
@@jeck988 Thrawn was merely trying to save the galaxy, via the most stable military force in the galaxy. Tarkin wanted power and stability. Krennic sought power and control to them. Hux was following his families footsteps.
Every time you see him on screen, you are terrified, worried - what is he planning now. Just him speaking with a calm voice, makes you more horrified than someone using brute force. Great villain, great character.
Best part about the audiobook for the new Thrawn novel is that it's narrated by the same guy who narrated the Thrawn trilogy. Would love to hear a few of his quotes from those included. "Once you understand a species' art, you understand that species"
I read a few Star Wars novels, but I mostly just listen to the audiobooks while I'm at work. Marc Thompson does the best reading, in my opinion. He has a very distinct voice for Thrawn and he can perfectly mimic Mark Hamill and Billy Dee Williams.
I see Tarkin not as a tactician but a strategist. He, despite being a talented and experienced commander concerned himself more with managing the empire than fighting battles
Thrawn if he was tasked with guarding the Death Star plans: "The rebels, including the daughter of the project lead, have launched an attack on the engineering team behind the weapon's construction. Galen Erso, admitted to treason when confronted by Director Krennic. The message he sent must be something that compromised the Death Star. We should analyse the plans and search for any kind of weakness." *A battle breaks out on Scarrif while Thrawn and several engineers are analyzing the schematics.* "Galen Erso betrayed the Empire and now the rebels are attacking the facility that holds the plans for the super weapon he designed. The only logical conclusion is the Rebels must need the Death Star technical schematics to capitalize on Galen's betrayal. Upload the plans to one of the Star Destroyers in orbit. Once the plans are received have them jump to the Death Star and deliver the plans to the battle station. Erase any and all copies of the plans outside of the station, and let the Rebels try to assault our most powerful weapon (if they even figure out where the plans are). TLDR, just have Thrawn manage everything essential to the empire and Palpatine's reign will last forever.
The only flaw is you'd never have an asset like Thrawn relegated to such puny operations. You'd deploy Thrawn to the front lines, not to some top secret research centre
Plus Thrawn disliked the death star for its impracticality. Too many resources wasted on a giant ball of death for it to be destroyed by a exhaust port.
@@articusramos808 Yeah, Thrawn didn't buy the effectiveness of Sidious's 'symbol of fear' reasoning, they could get just as much destructive capability by bombing planets with Stardestroyers.
@@nobody2996 exactly, thrawn would rather patrol the entire galaxy with star destroyer, than use it all on a battle station that can only be one place at a time
If thrawn had been in charge of the death star he would have turned those resources into millions of star destroyers and billions of TIE fighters, bombers, etc
Thrawn is the SMARTEST Tactitian in star wars legends and canon, also his rank is grand Admiral ackbar is a pretty great Tactitian but he's Outclassed by Thrawn
Agreed, the only win the rebels got over him was by Ezra literally taking him off the board. It was clear by that point that he had them nearly dead to rights, and had they faced him in Rogue One or before those events the fractures in the rebellion we saw in Rogue would have torn them apart if he didn't finish them off personally.
I love everything about this video but I'll say three things that stand out for me. 1.All of Thrawn's dialogue 2. Hux's partial speech 3. The background music
“Each culture is different. Each species is unique. That presents challenges to the warrior, who often must ascertain from limited clues the strategy, goals, and tactics of an opponent. But the danger of misreading an opponent is sometimes even greater in politics. There, one seldom has the clearness of weapons activation or troop movement to warn of impending danger. Often, the only indication of conflict is when the battle has already begun.”
Another great quote by Thrawn that sums up the brilliant foundation of his battle strategy. "To defeat an enemy you must know them. Not simply their battle tactics, but their history. Philosophy. Art..." "Slaven please, you embarrass me in front of our host. May I introduce Hera Syndulla. Rebel pilot, freedom fighter, military leader, daughter of your nemesis: Cham Syndulla. *Ezra draws on Thrawn, but he calmly stuns him* "How did I know? Because rebels always have friends rushing to the rescue." "I will pull the Rebels apart piece by piece. They'll be the architects of their own destruction."
“We Sith are an unseen opposition, a phantom menace. Where the Sith once wore armor, we now wear cloaks. But the Force works through us all the more powerfully in our invisibility. For the present, the more covert we remain, the more influence we can have. Our revenge will be achieved not through subjugation but by contagion.” -Darth Tenebrous. The Thrawn of the Sith and quite possibly the second most brilliant mind the Galaxy had ever known.
When the Death Star was finally finished, the Empire thought it had a guaranteed winning hand. But they forgot a lesson by Thrawn: there is no such thing as a guaranteed winning hand.
As someone whos just finished the original Thrawn trilogy, I cannot express how much I have come to love the character. I had heard his name before, and first saw him in Rebels. But now that I've properly read the original take on the character... he's just breathtaking. The brief discussions between Thrawn and Pellaeon were such a great way of exploring the tactical genius of the man, from the first line to his last breath in the story. Thrawn is so fun, not only for his lack of moral qualms, but his blatant disregard for the Emperor. He isn't unsettling in the way the Emperor is, he isn't a broken man like Vader. He's simply, and wholly, a tactical mastermind with a vision for the galaxy.
This is even better, since I’m reading through Thrawn Ascendancy right now. Thrawn rises to the top of two galactic militaries, because he was just that skilled and intelligent.
Both Tarkin and Thrawn are brilliant minds but you might want to reconsider the line about no combat skills. Tarkin's younger years are explored in a novel, were he grew up mostly in a jungle learning to hunt, fight and survive against all manner of beasts, creatures and other dangers. He destroyed an entire horde of ape like monsters by manipulating their leader and beta, forcing them to clash in a show of dominance, killed them both and then forced the rest of the horde from their ancestral home all by himself. Tarkin is not the kind of guy who likes to get his hands dirty but he is possibly the most ruthless being in all of Star Wars behind Palpatine. Just because he chooses not to fight doesn't mean he can't.
bruno tobias The (arguably) most important thing I've ever learned about Tarkin in Rogue One is that Tarkin's a rival you don't want to have. Especially when he uses your own super weapon to destroy not just you, but also the base you're standing on. Anyway, considering how the Rebels Season 3 finale demonstrated a difference in priorities between Tarkin and Thrawn (Tarkin demanded that the Rebel leadership at Atollon be captured alive, whereas, Thrawn never truly believed the idea to be feasible, despite complying with the demand), I feel as if the writers are setting up the groundwork for a Season 4 rivalry between Tarkin and Thrawn. Could the reason for Thrawn's absence from the original trilogy be due to Tarkin's growing paranoia and scheming?
In the end Thrawn lost because of the reason most villains lose. In the series "The Flash" there was a quote that said "You cannot predict how someone is feeling". The depth of the bond between the rebels was something he could never really grasp and therefore not see coming. Loving someone so much you are willing to sacrifice yourself for him is nothing he even thought possible.
I love your comment. Politicians & powerful leaders constantly underestimate the powerful force of collective feelings & emotions of people. Those who are too focused on cold-logic & strategy fail when it comes to not knowing that leadership is a battlefield fought on two fronts...Logic & Emotion.
Often come back here to remember what was lost. Absolutely prophetic how my DM at high school predicted darkness when the Disney purchase news dropped. We are all just going to live in aging bodys inhabiting a lesser society more and more.
That seems like a very cynic view. Let's hope society improves, irregardless of what Disney or does. In years to come if we even think back on media, people will remember Andor, KotOR and the films, not the bad.
a great tactician creates plans, a good tactician recognises the soundness of a plan presented to them, a fair tactician must see the plan succeed before offering approval. Those that have no tactical ability may never understand or accept it, nor such people understand or accept the tactician. To those without that ability, those who possess it are a mystery, and when a mind is too deficient in understanding, the resulting gap is often filled with... resentment. Military leadership is a journey not a destination, it is continually challenged and must continually improve itself a new against fresh obstacles. there is satisfaction in defeating an enemy, but one must never allow oneself to become complaced. There is always more enemies to be identified, faced and vanquished. I want you to know failure utter defeat and that it is I who delivers it crushing down upon you. now, let us proceed. once a certain levels have been reached there is no need to prove leadership or competence. a person with such power is accustomed to having every word carefully considered and every whim treated as an order and all who recognise that power know to bow to it. few have the courage or foolishness to resist.
Whilst I would place Thrawn's tactical genius over Tarkin's, I wouldn't say Tarkin is only a good tactician. He was an excellent tactician, and a reasonably fair military commander. Again, not on the level of Thrawn, but he commanded the same kind of loyalty borne of true admiration, and the kind of results that made him formidable. The only significant difference was that whilst Thrawn was known to be able to discern enemy tactics via art work and an opponents mannerisms, Tarkin read opponents through their actions and reputation, and employed a ruthless and direct approach to battle that kept his opponents off balance. They're both competent, just in different ways. Too often in the Empire there were leaders who got by on prestige, whilst those like Thrawn, Piett, and Tarkin got by on skill.
That's exactly where Thrawn and Tarkin differ, especially in the Thrawn Novel. Where Tarkin is slightly less able than Thrawn in military tactical prowess, Tarkin knows how to play the political scene much more effectively e.g. Taking control of the Death Star despite Krennic building it.
DKDioKlau Tarkin only made one mistake at Yavin and it was not evacuating. Thrawn has less of a pride problem, so I think he probably would've left. If you mean in preparation for Yavin, the exhaust port was not Tarkin's fault; and bringing Star Destroyers would have done nothing, considering the X-wings might be able to zip through.
@@clark5317 Other mistakes were not realizing quicker that you need fighters to effectively ward off fighters and that he should deploy a reasonable amount as soon a enemy fighters are detected and intercept them before they are within firing range of the death star. I would also send fighters and bombers to attack the rebel land base and destroy any visible craft which they could escape in. This would also cause the rebels to split their own forces further weakening their offensive capabilities.
Jayard _Kenobi "If you know your enemy and you know yourself in a hundred battles you will never be in peril" pretty much a copy of sun tzu teachings. But Thrawn lack that know myself part.
Alcantara Daniel what, thrawn knows himself. He knows that his love for art and respect for his enemy is needed to win. His calm demeanor is what he knows gives him an edge against his enemies. Watch "why did thrawn join the empire" and you will see alot of what he fought for.
It makes it way better when Thrawn is speaking on the background, he was a powerful man. His story always fascinated me, especially how he disappeared to thin air after the Imperial Civil War started. He is truly the god. "Kill a man, and you're an assasin. Kill millions of men, and you are a conqueror. Kill everyone and you are a god."
Lord Inquisitor Virideaus They aren't incompetent. They have shown some very good tactical and strategical abilities. But the empire is just simply better in many ways. But sadly have some idiots in their ranks as well
Lord Inquisitor Virideaus That is how things are durring war. Espacally when you are fighting a opponent several times more powerful than you. And they do listen just not all the time. Also can you fucking blame them? Their enemy, who was already far stronger than them, had now a weapon that they knew could destroy big parts of countries
"I am okay with my troops doing a mistake. What I will not tolerate is a refusal to correct it. Not everyone knows but a Military Career is not a Destination. Its a Journey."
Ironically, it was Thrawn doing an dishonorable act that got him stopped during in the Original Timeline, in the Disney one he was defeated yet again by himself as he underestimated the Power of The Force.
@@maylabrown4584 he didn’t underestimate the force he just didn’t understand it if he was force sensitive had plentiful of time to study and research it he might find a counter to force sensitive individuals.
@@mohammadhosseini6675 Star Wars Rebels shows Thrawn underestimate The Tengu and despite being warned of what was to come didn't plan (and couldn't) plan for what was just a supposed prophecy from a beast.
I know I'm like four years late, but I just want to thank you for making this amazing tribute video to the brilliant military tacticians behind the Empire (and the First Order with Hux even though his character was wasted in Episodes 8 & 9). I feel like these people get overshadowed by the majority of the fan base in favor of villains such as Darth Vader, General Grievous, Emperor Palpatine, etc. Don't get me wrong, they're also amazing villains who deserve the praise they have but I think the ordinary but intelligent military leaders also deserve some more recognition.
**Military leadership is a journey, not a destination.** Strip Thrawn of all the medals and ranks, he'll remain powerful. His career is neverending ascendance without stopping for rest or complacency.
“There is, satisfaction in defeating an enemy. But one must never allow oneself to become complacent. There are always more enemies to be identified, faced, and vanquished.” That quote points out one of the biggest factors of many powerful leaders and figureheads downfalls. Once they had defeated their initial enemy they felt that no one else could stand up to them, causing them to slack off and lose their edge. I love how Thrawn points out plenty of realistic possibilities and facts in regards to warfare and fighting. Such a great character.
Thrawn I will not except surrenders at this time I want you to know failure utter defeat and it is I who delivers it crashing down upon you I hear this Thrawn line in my head all the time
Fantastic. I'm thrilled you're using audiobook narrations, they're such a good source to utilize. Marc Thompson is a brilliant voice over artist. Again, brilliant video, as always!!!!
Everyone seen in this video are unironically my favourite star wars characters. Maul, Vader, and Kenobi too but something about non-force sensitive characters who gain power is just really intriguing to me Love this video!
"I want you to know failure... Utter defeat. And it is I who delivers it crashing down upon you. Now let us proceed." Such a good quote! From many of the great Grand Admiral Thrawn.
My issue with it is that it brakes with the original Thrawn trilogy. This is because Thrawn does not take pleasure in defeating an enemy and he would not take personal credit for success.
By far my favourite video! As soon as I heard Thrawn, I thought, "YEEEEESSSS!!!" I was waiting forever for your next vid and I thought, "Man this is taking a while. For sure the video is going to be amazing then." I'm glad I got to see it before going to bootcamp!
I like this edit because it goes into the tactics of Star Wars, something that is not often touched on.And this does it so well, looking at both sides as far as tactical vs not so much and the sides of the war.Still brilliant👏
Seriously Dudu, you are awesome. Quotes from Thrawns audiobook combined with strong music and fitting scenes from the Star Wars Series. It feels soo powerful
The thrawn needs his own movie. Star wars can make big bucks on this solo movie if they do it right. But it seems to me that Disney doesn't care too much for star wars if they did they would have been many new single star wars movies out or games. That's how I see it.
I feel Disney have no tactical ability, and as Grand Admiral Thrawn said "Those that have no tactical ability may never understand or accept it, (referencing George Lucas's vision) nor such people understand or accept the tactician. To those without that ability, those who possess it are a mystery, and when a mind is too deficient in understanding, the resulting gap is often filled with... resentment." That is how they treat most (Read: All) fan input concerning not just Star Wars, but all franchises owned by them.
I love this character, his intelligence and knowledge makes him one of the greatest military minds in Star Wars. He deserves a movie with him as main antagonist or at least a supporting role. Leaning towards a latter one focusing on his thought process that leads to slow and merciless extermination of empires enemies. To be honest it has to be really demoralising for rebels to know that you fight the enemy that thinks 10 steps ahead of you,. You never know if you are doing good or is he toying with you. That is the art of war. To break enemy morale without fighting.
"the art of war is of vital importance to the state. It's a road to safety or to ruin. It's a subject inquiry which can on no account be neglected." Sun Tzu the art of war, very first lines. Why did the empire loose despite it having such excellent military minds, borderline limitless rescources and personal? They lost because they were not fighting for the "state", they were fighting for their egos. They were motivated by greed and vanity and pride. The rebels fought with such strong will, such patience, such admirable skill and courage because they had two things in sufficient amounts that the empire did not have in sufficient amounts: humility and faith in ordinary people's liberties. They were, as Ahsoka put it in TCW "fighting for freedom". And people who fight for freedom are naturally going to be seen as glorious because they were fighting for the people's well-being, because they believed in the people, the emperor feared the people because the people could take away his power, and as we all know Palpatine has an "all who gain power are afraid to loose it" mentality. I don't like him, but I respect Thrawn because his ultimate loyalty was (In Legends at least) to the Chiss ascendancy. He did what he did out of desire to protect his people from the evils in the unknown regions which he believed only a fully militarised galactic power, could defend against, and as evidenced by the yhuza zhong, he was at least partially right. However his proud belief that he alone needed to rule the galaxy for that to happen, and his naivety, led to his downfall at the hands of Rouke. RIP Miththrawndoo, you may have been a ruthless, merciless, egotistical, pessimistically ambitious bastard, but you were a brave, brilliant, loyal bastard who taught the galaxy the painful lessons it needed to learn to defend itself. Sometimes the most needed lessons to be learnt require the uncomfortablest of learning environments.
I feel had thrawn won and became a dictator it was for the right reason sometimes the "people" don't see the picture that in this case a horde of a hive like civilization that wants to consume the galaxy thrawn knew that a united galaxy would minimize the damage and be the most likely way to success and victory thrawns personality shows unlike someone who was power hungry like palpatine he most likely would have reformed democracy because his mission over with he has no real reason to stay in power and thus no longer wants to be because if you do it for the right reason and maintain your morality and dedication you had going which thrawn would you will lay down that power after the storm has passed and it is time to let the people run things again thats why had thrawn not been assainated he would have gone on to be the galaxy best hope against the vong
I watched this video 3 years ago or so for the first time and up until today, even after rewatching it countless times, it never fails to give me goosebumps. Hands down the best Star Wars edits I've ever seen! (and a huge part of how I've finally fallen in love with that fandom) PS: when are they finally hiring you to cut their movies?
A secret base that would save us all from defeat? Great! I'm not going to tell anyone else about it and just tell them to shut up and get on with it. Any reason why? Do i think there's a spy in our midst? Is this base the stuff of legends and no one would believe me otherwise? Would people not want to go to this particular base for any particular reason? Nah, but I'm not going to tell them anyway.
shut up she is not a tactician she is a politician so a diplomat but in organisations like the Empire, The Resistance, The Rebelion and the First Order only military titles are counted you can be a admiral and just be an ingener so her being here is ok and she trust leia so in ep 8 She said nothing to other Poe aswell because he was Rztrograde to captain so he doesn't have the right to ask ansers ( and have you seen his reaction just because she expose the reasonable choice so saying it he would have done worse) and if the emplacement of the rebel base is a secret that only her and Leia knew so if she tells to the crew the spy could inform the Fiirst order and they failed
Thrawn would have picked apart the entire rebellion one by one, it would have not mattered if Luke Skywalker would have discovered his abilities or not, cause no rebel alliance would have been left. So the ghost crew I guess did took out the greatest hurdle that had one of the biggest impact in rebellion actually succeeding.
Tarkin and Thrawn were two of the finest and most formidable men to ever serve the Emperor. That they achieved so much without a drop of Force ability to their credit speaks volumes about how dangerous and cunning they were. Men like Hux or Krennic were but rank amateurs forever toiling in their shadows. Excellent video.
Am I the only one that gets chills when watching this masterpiece? The music score, Thrawns delicious words dripping in your ears, and the different mix of cinema blending into it all so very beautifully. DuduFilms has more talent in their fingertip then most of Hollywood put together. Here's hoping we see the Sith Mouse and the deathstar known as Disney fall under its own weight and relinquish control back to people who care about this great Franchise and its fanbase.
The musical score with thrawn's words sprinkled in was the perfect crescendo of emotion here, the utter weight of the imperial battery ripping into the rebels shields, the utter ruthless of an overwhelming force up against a fleet a fraction of the firepower. And then there's the background understanding at the sheer loss of life happening within these events, entire civilizations wiped out in the vacuum of space. The only thing that kept the rebels alive was the utter lack of decent leadership within their ranks, because what we have here is a mere glimpse of what happens when the empire actually decides to pay attention to a threat effectively-and it's utter ruination man.
These structures and philosophies of these famous quotes is really awe-inspiring I'm glad you presenting these through the Star Wars Mythos; thank you so much for these insights that reflect the stolen structure to the structures of militaries, kingdoms, and nations in the past, present, and the near future.
This is so awesome!!! Thank you for the description under the video about the quotes you used - that prevented me from any spoilers, as I had not finished the Thrawn book yet (english is not my first language, but couldn't wait for the german version as well^^). Therefore, I waited until now with watching this video, and the wait was really worth it. It's atmospheric, epic and I love that kind of subtle résumé about imperial politics in the end.
"Press the attack. Force them to ground..." Best rebels final so far. Thrawn saved the series, great villain. I think he is the main reason why the rebels in Roque one are so scared to fight against the empire. The battle of Scarif was the first major victory for the rebels. Up to that point they suffered defeat after defeat after defeat by the empires most dangerous admiral. I believe he is beating the shit out of the alliance until all they can do is pray to the force, hoping for a miracle. And they get their wish, i think Thrawn will eather be betrayed by his subordinates (jealous little racists) or leave the empire because of the death star.
No he isn't, Walker. He's still alive in both canon and EU. The canon 'ending' so far for Thrawn is that he left into the unknown regions with the remainder of the Imperial remnants after RotJ.
@Duck Soup No, just no. Please stop, i almost pushed the last 15 minutes of rebels into the deepest depths of my memory, just next to the Disney trilogy. No, just no...noooooo! Space whales....just f.o. man....
Empire - "Send a fleet to deal with the rebels, good, now monitor transmissions" etc Rebellion - "SCATTER THE FLEETS SCATTER THE FLEETS SCATTER THE FLEETS SCATTER THE FLEETS SCATTER THE FLEETS SCATTER THE FLEETS"
Thrawn is the most terrifying individual in Star Wars ; he does not threaten , he makes statements , and he says it with a calm and smooth baritone , as if they were facts. That rational level headed professionalism combined with his intellect and talent is more intimidating than anything the Sith could conjure

Thrawn, to me, will always be the most dangerous enemy one can possibly face in Star Wars. While someone like Vader is physically imposing and will terrify you on the field of battle, Thrawn only meets you on said field when he has already won.

How do I begin to explain thrawn...First of all, he defeated an entire fleet with 3 cruisers.

Tarkin a villain? Yes. Thrawn a villain? No.
Tarkin is a good example of the saying "Speak softly and carry a big stick".

Strategy is warfare. Just less dynamic one.
@@njux1871
Strategy is concerned with way more than warfare and has very little involvement in battle tactics
Thrawn is honestly both. More so a Stratagist since he is at his best in long term/bigger scale planning, but he is very clever on a tactical level.
Thrawn if he was tasked with guarding the Death Star plans:
"The rebels, including the daughter of the project lead, have launched an attack on the engineering team behind the weapon's construction. Galen Erso, admitted to treason when confronted by Director Krennic. The message he sent must be something that compromised the Death Star. We should analyse the plans and search for any kind of weakness."
*A battle breaks out on Scarrif while Thrawn and several engineers are analyzing the schematics.*
"Galen Erso betrayed the Empire and now the rebels are attacking the facility that holds the plans for the super weapon he designed.

Great use of imperial and rebel leaders. That said, Thrawn outclasses all of them.

Agreed, the only win the rebels got over him was by Ezra literally taking him off the board.
Philosophy. Art..."
"Slaven please, you embarrass me in front of our host. May I introduce Hera Syndulla. Rebel pilot, freedom fighter, military leader, daughter of your nemesis: Cham Syndulla. *Ezra draws on Thrawn, but he calmly stuns him* "How did I know? Because rebels always have friends rushing to the rescue."

Thrawn even has some great combat skills.
Just because he chooses not to fight doesn't mean he can't.
yeah, I forget that, but they don't need the Skills to be great antagonists

The (arguably) most important thing I've ever learned about Tarkin in Rogue One is that Tarkin's a rival you don't want to have.
Those who are too focused on cold-logic & strategy fail when it comes to not knowing that leadership is a battlefield fought on two fronts...Logic & Emotion.

a great tactician creates plans, a good tactician recognises the soundness of a plan presented to them, a fair tactician must see the plan succeed before offering approval. Those that have no tactical ability may never understand or accept it, nor such people understand or accept the tactician. To those without that ability, those who possess it are a mystery, and when a mind is too deficient in understanding, the resulting gap is often filled with... resentment.

@@Thebrainwashedturtle That is exactly how one becomes a great tactician.
Muy magnifico Destroyer San, kakpeki ni itta
Tarkin was a formidable administrator.
Yes, but would Thrawn made the same mistakes as Tarkin during the Battle of Yavin?

Honestly I’d be a million times more willing to accept the new Star Wars canon if Thrawn was the main villain.
Thrawn is actually my Favorite Star Wars Character

Tarkin and Thrawn were two of the finest and most formidable men to ever serve the Emperor. Am I the only one that gets chills when watching this masterpiece? The music score, Thrawns delicious words dripping in your ears, and the different mix of cinema blending into it all so very beautifully.

McBaal
He’s killed
No he isn't, Walker. He's still alive in both canon and EU.
The canon 'ending' so far for Thrawn is that he left into the unknown regions with the remainder of the Imperial remnants after RotJ.
Well technically many of his subordinates are speciesist.
@Duck Soup No, just no. Please stop, i almost pushed the last 15 minutes of rebels into the deepest depths of my memory, just next to the Disney trilogy. No, just no...noooooo! Space whales....just f.o. man....
this is awesome man u make incredible videos
Wow…words can’t explain how well made this video is.
Empire - "Send a fleet to deal with the rebels, good, now monitor transmissions" etc
Rebellion - "SCATTER THE FLEETS SCATTER THE FLEETS SCATTER THE FLEETS SCATTER THE FLEETS SCATTER THE FLEETS SCATTER THE FLEETS"
If this were to release a year ago this would've peaked 10m views at best
Great work Dudu. Well executed. Is it Thrawn's new audio book that the voice over is from by the way?
Thanks jay , yes it is
Great as always. I love this and your ability to perfectly match this with Thrawn's personality. I absolutely love your videos.
If not for plot armor, there would be no rebellion.
The path you take doesn't have to be quick, as long as it is correct -Thrawn
100% Best video so far!
More than ever, I want movie about Thrawn...or a series
Wow... This... This was just..... amazing!!!!
Thrawn is the most terrifying individual in Star Wars ; he does not threaten , he makes statements , and he says it with a calm and smooth baritone , as if they were facts. That rational level headed professionalism combined with his intellect and talent is more intimidating than anything the Sith could conjure
The voice itself is so badass.
