One thing I want to observe about the Blade Dance/Demon Dance: While likely obvious from just looking at it, the Dance does hit 360 degrees around you, repeatedly. This makes it excellent for clearing out swarms of small enemies, especially the "dog" ones like Jagras and Girros (which, not coincidentally, have boss monster versions who have calling in a ton of them as part of their fight mechanics). This is less important with top-level weapons where the damage is so much increased, but from the perspective of a beginner I'd consider it very useful information (certainly I wish I'd caught on to it sooner). Early on (and really at any time if you get careless), a large group of minor enemies can keep you stunlocked for an alarming period of time. Ducking into Demon Mode for your big finisher just to drop it on a bunch of minor enemies might seem extravagant, but it's perfect for shutting down those pack enemies I mentioned, since they love to stay way too close to you and will at times merrily charge into the operating blender.
I agree with this. as well, in an "ideal" sitution, the weapons of MHW are noticeably rewarding for careful timing and good positioning. this is why people like the Greatsword, huge adrenaline rush if you get the second hit of a fully-charged True Strike. like playing Scout on TF2. I would also add that the Sword and Shield has nothing on the Dual Blades of the same skill level.
As soon as you have enough Nergigante materials, get the Nergigante Chestplate A, B will give you Agitator which isnt that great tbh, Nerg A gives you Stamina Surge ONLY. Stamina Surge increases your overall stamina Refill time. Mixing it with a Wiggly Litchi/Dash Juice and Marathon Runner with other Stamina Usage reducing armor works really well, you could do a Set mainly with Marathon Runner and make sure there are spots available for the Marathon runner jewels so that you get max Stamina surge and Marathon Runner. You only need 3 Stamina Surge Armors to be able to maximaze it.

Elemental is better for tripping monsters and monsters that have more damage resistance like Vaal Hazaak (his tail is the only part that has a 3 star weakness, his chest and head are 2 star). In these scenarios I would definitely use elemental.

The infinite combo (triangle, triangle, circle, loop) whilst in demon mode allows you to stay in demon mode as long as you keep attacking. It's 2 quick swipes and a spinning dash for repositioning and if you're chasing a monster when it flees can get in some cheeky damage.
For anyone who asking about the re-upload the old video had a pink line through the center normally used for comparisons sake almost the whole video aside from that the video is the same. Thanks Arekkz and co for the awesome vid and for fixing the issue ^^
Yeah, tried to compare both and this is what i find Demon mode compared to arch-demon mode is better when the monster are getting dissabled often so you can spam demon dance much more. While arch-demon mode is better when you have no such luck since you do retain bonus damage multiplier and increased attack speed from demon mode and shorter combo (mini demon dance have less risk than full demon dance obviously) mean you can still dance around the monster while it is moving around, dealing constant dps than staying in demon mode since you are limited on stamina (with constant stamina drain on you) Kind of like how a demon is like an insane/mindless beserker and an arch-demon retain their sanity/mind even if both are bloodthirsty monster Edit: huh wait do stamina drain that slowly, i remember it being a lot faster as i can only do that for about 10 second/ two demon dance combo. Then again i am still pretty green
tri, tri, circle is a better infinite combo than tri, tri, L3 tri. Although it's risky to use w/o stamina, you still have the bey blade move to substitute for your evade.
Finally! Also worth mentioning, the kulve taroth weapons have pretty high elemental stats so procking ailments on a monster usually don't require elemental bonus anyway, but it procks much quicker
@Arekkz gaming when ur in arch demon mode and demon mode if u push circle or B if ur on Xbox u can go off the walls without consuming stamina while in arch demon mode but it will drain the meter like u explained in the video. Thats the best way i can explained it and i hope u see this comment
I'm waiting for this to come to PC, and your videos have been great for helping me decide what weapon I'm going to use once it's out. I'm leaning heavily towards these dual blades. I thought they would be really complicated with tons of combos, but the way you broke them down just made it all make sense and seem really simple.
Tips for dual blade users Don't get in the way of your other team mates as your quick attacks has a big affect on staggering your team mates who can deal heavy damage Dual blades are good for dealing elemental damage and for dipping in and out of attacks while letting the heavy hitters do most of the damage Also use ledges, walls and slopes to your advantage because they help a lot need to catch a monster going down hill and you'll catch them in no time
Great tips, but the dual blades actually have better dps than most other weapons, even the great sword. So, as a dual blades user, you should be focusing on simply dealing as much damage as possible and taking advantage of the monster's weaknesses.
terrible tips. DBs are literally meant to stick to monsters to deal the most damage while big weapons are the ones meant to dip in and out. don't listen to this moron
If you’re gonna use or main dual blades, please don’t use your fury attacks when someone is guarding beside you...... ..... youre gonna drop their stamina faster than my self esteem... :/
Not always true dude, as a DB main I'm always considerate where my team are concerned and know when to attack and when to back off to avoid interrupting them.
SailorXII not all DB users dude just a majority that aren’t smart with using the weapon a good hunter regardless of weapon should keep in mind of teammates
I’ve been watching other tutorial channels for MHW and I have to say, your channel by far is the most organized and informative. Thank you and keep it up!
DB Main here! :P Thank you for mentioning to not always use the "blade dance" whenever you are able to.. I see way to many people being carted because they feel they need to use that move way more then they need to.
I always have the marathon runner 3 charm equipped so i never run out of stam, i never even knew the Dual blades had the special Circle hit in normal form xD.
Awesome video, thanks for the breakdown. I just started playing yesterday and have been using dual blades. I like it so far, and the game loop is addictive.
i love your weapon tutorials, whenever i have a long break from the game i alwasy return and want to try new things or old but i return to your videos for a refresher course.
One very good skill to have is also the one from luna set for 2 pieces which extends your stamina bar, this way you can stay in demon mode way longer and have more window to evade. Also another one i love to use is Evade distance, which makes your dashes so nice and long you can evade basically every move from any monster and as its so fast and can spam you barely get hit with it. Some luna parts have Evade window in them so its pretty nice to build from that.
Wow I really slept on these things. I saw someone do some really cool moves so I figured I’d check it out. Once again, your videos completely blow me away man they are so helpful
Nice video Arekkz! There is another ledge attack called the midair spinning blade dance; if you jump off a ledge and while falling enter demon mode then press Y (on Xbox, triangle for ps4 i think) while still in midair, you are suspended in midair for a second and spin. If you do this and it hits a monster (basically you will be jumping right above them then using this) it does the heavenly blade dance (spin along the monster's back). I love using this move on Uragaan in the elder's recess in area 5, it works really well if he faces you correctly. I use dual blades mainly (since 3u), it felt reaallly weird at the beginning because the combos and movement was so smooth, i love it lol
I'd argue mushroomancer is really mice specifically for dual blades, because the can be so reliant on dash juice being able to carry 10 devils blight for thay effect is great. Also having teostra technique and a crit build is a really good way to keep your sharpness up. Got my second attack gem and a tenderizer gem recently thought I'd let you know
this is my first time seeing this series, and so I'm instntly impressed as upon learning there is a Training Area, I started recording myself using various weapons in a simple series of attacks including "ideal" and "pocky" situations where you basically have to use a series of evades, attacks, and massive damage dealing combos for weapons that have options at all. for instance, seeing as I was using it at the beginning of the game, the Gunlance is one of the best starter weapons for experienced players. I honestly found it my best weapon besides the Greatsword, which I honestly use as default. anyway, sorry for getting off-topic, but this is great and I'm definitely going to see the rest of the series. it's always good to learn what you don't know, eh?
imagine if the dmc event this week also has a dante dual blade (agni and rudra) other than the charge blade and when we go into demon mode dante also transforms into a devil (devil trigger) how cool is that?
First time seeing one of your videos. Subbed! I take way too long of breaks from this game and I can't wait to put some work in with the dual blades! Didn't even know you could do half of this stuff. Thank you!
How to actually use dbs from a 150 HR dbs main: Always be in demon form, always spam triangle + circle. No need for other attacks except circle to weave in and out and the attack on titan move.
@@Reploidx9 Higher HR means that you've got more playtime and thus more experience, but i guess that a HR 30 hunter could be a god as well (especially if they're a vet)
I just started playing this game and I picked Dual Blades because I wanted something similar to a Hack 'N Slash game like God of War. From what I've seen, these things turn you into Anime Kratos. I'm okay with that.
Should be noted that demon mode isn't required to do the circle slide on slopes or to do the beyblade spine on their back after running at a wall or attacking out of a slope. Demon mode is needed to do it off a ledge however, and of course, demon mode does leave you doing more damage.
Forgot to mention how to mount a monster with DB's, if you stay out of demon mode and you simply jump to the monster and hit Tri as soon as you come into contact.
I love this weapon so much, been using it since 3 Ultimate, i tried other weapons along the way but i JUST can't main anything but dual blades, they are just perfect and they keep getting better in every game!
I would personally try all weapon types in any monster hunter game. In mh3u I have been using dual swords, sword and shield, long sword and finally great sword.
Don't do that because you get your meter slowy go up but if you do circle then triangle it rise up fast giving you time to do the triangle + circle to do damage
@@kuass9541 that's the charm of monster hunter, there are complex weapon like charge Blade which have ton of things it can do, a simple but really deep(as in it have a lot of potential) sns, simple but require deep understanding of monster great sword, or if you wish to say fuck it all. Go dual blade and slash the heck out of monster till you're satisfied, no need to worry about too much control, no need to worry about timing your attack, no need to have too many thing standing in the way between the monster and you except maybe your team mate you want to stay away from. All you need is a good preparation before the hunt only.
You can also do the ride down the back of a monster by just jumping off a ledge, going into demon mode while dropping and just hitting triangle. Sometimes you dont have a good elevation or angle to use Circle off the ledge to land on a monster. Also after rolling down a monster if you have stamina use circle to spin on the ground back to the monster to close the distance faster. You can also attack with zero stamina in demon mode non stop by using triangle triangle (third triangle is ok too) and circle, then repeat. You can try evading with the circle spin move if you mess up and run out of stamina as a last ditch attempt to evade instead of trying to wait for enough stamina to roll.
Every weapon in this game is another thing. Holy shit i didnt expected this kind of variety. This is my first MH experience I bought the game 2 days ago and already spent 20 hours in it.
Your weapon workshop videos are helpful, but this one in particular really helped me! I saw improvement immediately after taking your advice. Thank you and keep up the good work!
If you don’t use the blade dance move and you get the timing on your dashes and triangle (Y) and circle (B) moves right you can stay in demon mode for the whole fight
after jumping off a cliff or from a vine and activating demon mode, while mid-fall, you can perform a spin attack shortly after demon dance that allows you to go into the heavenly blade dance if positioned correctly over a monster
This is the only weapon that I can say I prefer it's moveset in the previous titles. This version of dual blades honestly feels like a nerf compared to previous entries.
Varnal Faer, no dashing and a simplified moveset while in Archdemon Mode is what I'm talking about. I don't know if that's considered a nerf by the community, but I feel like it's a pretty big one.
J Trounce That was a huge dissapointment for me when I first saw it. Another complaint I had was the removal of the original demon dance. But, it still feels fairly good when you now how to play it.
You seem to have missed mentioning the Teostra set bonus for dual blade users. It's incredibly good for keeping sharpness up if you build for high crit value... and dual blades can bleed sharpness like mad.
Enter demon mode midair then attack, you spin in midair and if you come into contact with the monster it starts the heavenly blade dance. Its good if the monster is far below a ledge and dashing off of the ledge wont hit the monster.
fufhsi euenbeffb ah shit, my bad - only tried testing it in training (guess there really is no better way to learn than actually going after a live target!)
Stay between the monsters legs, or just below centre of mass, and spam attacks on the legs. If an attack is coming, use the beyblade to move away. Most attack hitboxes seem to start at around the centre of mass so you can literally dance around the hitboxes (i.e. switching sides, either left or right, or front or behind of centre of mass) while still relentlessly attacking. Plus, attacking the legs means trips for days

Me used hammer. Me spin to win. Funni bönk
but it's not efficient as using normal attacks, since the demon flurry only deals most damage when you focus on 1 monster
Also, this can be used to close a gap to a monster's weak spot as it moves you forward quite a bit faster than walking while not taking extra stamina.

Kind of like how a demon is like an insane/mindless beserker and an arch-demon retain their sanity/mind even if both are bloodthirsty monster
Edit: huh wait do stamina drain that slowly, i remember it being a lot faster as i can only do that for about 10 second/ two demon dance combo. Then again i am still pretty green
Well, an archangel is a half angel, so obv an arch-demon is a half demon. Makes sense.
@@fregi8779 why is arch tempered stronger than the tempered monsters then?
Fuck
Getting that jump attack. I love how it's like in a trailer for the game. I feel so badass.
tri, tri, circle is a better infinite combo than tri, tri, L3 tri. Although it's risky to use w/o stamina, you still have the bey blade move to substitute for your evade.
Baus Endr I agree
Yes and you can do three triangle inputs for more dps
Yes, I was quite surprised he didn't cover it at all.
I use the spin move to get out danger a lot, it gets you a further distance whilst still regenerating stamina
For sure, I know thats my bread and butter much better for being in demon mode way past your stamina
These tutorial videos have been great, and have made my Monster Hunter time so much more enjoyable. Thanks.
Finally! Also worth mentioning, the kulve taroth weapons have pretty high elemental stats so procking ailments on a monster usually don't require elemental bonus anyway, but it procks much quicker
Every time I want to try a new weapon, watching your videos is always first thing I do :D
He definitely has a good grasp on the weapons.
Tips for dual blade users
Don't get in the way of your other team mates as your quick attacks has a big affect on staggering your team mates who can deal heavy damage
Dual blades are good for dealing elemental damage and for dipping in and out of attacks while letting the heavy hitters do most of the damage
Also use ledges, walls and slopes to your advantage because they help a lot
need to catch a monster going down hill and you'll catch them in no time
Great tips, but the dual blades actually have better dps than most other weapons, even the great sword. So, as a dual blades user, you should be focusing on simply dealing as much damage as possible and taking advantage of the monster's weaknesses.
Dont worry about hitting team mates. If they dont run flinch free so be it.
terrible tips.
Lord Dogma Don't even try, most dual blade mains can't even read your comment
Chief Banana LOL true true, my bad for believing they could understand my cry for hope lmaooo
Yeah DB users are all braindead retards that just spam triangle and hit my shield/knock hammers off the head with their baby damage dual blades.
Not always true dude, as a DB main I'm always considerate where my team are concerned and know when to attack and when to back off to avoid interrupting them.
SailorXII not all DB users dude just a majority that aren’t smart with using the weapon a good hunter regardless of weapon should keep in mind of teammates
The Levi Ackerman Move.........

I find myself rewatching these videos for a refresher every once in awhile
I just picked up the dual blades and had no idea what to do. Thank for the video
Guilty... But I'm learning!
My weapon of choice. Thanks for the tutorial, I learned some stuff I didn't even know after hundreds of hours of hunting!

I always have the marathon runner 3 charm equipped so i never run out of stam, i never even knew the Dual blades had the special Circle hit in normal form xD.
are you certain that there is a third upgrade available to the marathon charm? kiranico says it only has 2 levels.
Marathon Runner 2 plus dash juice gives maximum stamina reduction. MR lvl 3 actually doesn't help.
Benjamin Fine I’m very new, how does one get charms?
Awesome video, thanks for the breakdown. I just started playing yesterday and have been using dual blades. I like it so far, and the game loop is addictive.
i love your weapon tutorials, whenever i have a long break from the game i alwasy return and want to try new things or old but i return to your videos for a refresher course.
That spinning aerial attack reminds me of levi from attack on titan
zack dean haha I say that every time I do it when I play
Personally I thought of my old Beyblades.
Yo that weapon workshop animation was nice.
Also the midair spinning blade dance doesn’t do mounting damage but the weak slash does so it can be used for mounting of your playing solo
And that's why I've never once mounted a monster with Dual Blades. I should try it some time.
I like to imagine my character as a being of pure rage and is constantly screaming furiously as they attack
Wow I really slept on these things. I saw someone do some really cool moves so I figured I’d check it out. Once again, your videos completely blow me away man they are so helpful
10:58 captain Levi would be proud
very clean transition at 05:00 good job!
Great video, thank you for taking the time to make it. This has really helped my ninja skills!
Zetaゼタ what a missed opportunity that sounds badass
is there any demon mode transformations
cant believe capcom didnt do this.
When a pro tells you what's on his mind as he hunts.
Like, no lie, listen to the detail of his breakdown!!!! Immaculate!!!!
The bad thing about us NORMAL dual blade mains is we are all called weebs despite just loving the weapon
First time seeing one of your videos.
Subbed! I take way too long of breaks from this game and I can't wait to put some work in with the dual blades! Didn't even know you could do half of this stuff. Thank you!
Dual blades and long swords are straight out of anime no cap
I mainly watch these videos just to see I didn't miss out on anything for a weapon I've already been using. There's always at least a couple.
How to actually use dbs from a 150 HR dbs main: Always be in demon form, always spam triangle + circle. No need for other attacks except circle to weave in and out and the attack on titan move.
? You know HR means jack right?
@@Reploidx9 Higher HR means that you've got more playtime and thus more experience, but i guess that a HR 30 hunter could be a god as well (especially if they're a vet)

love it,being new to mh games i love all these tutorials you make. thanks bro
We better see this paralysis set on Monday
Michael Boyd Whats his build huhuhu
Great tutorial, just like all other tutorials you made for all 14 weapon types. Best tutorials on TH-cam. 👍
Rolling on kulve when she's red, at lvl 5 just breaks soooooo many parts
bought this game on today steam sale and i immediately fell inlove with the dual blades and heavy bowgun great guide
Glad you are enjoying the game,if you like fast and crazy weapons, you should try insect glaive 😁
I just started playing this game and I picked Dual Blades because I wanted something similar to a Hack 'N Slash game like God of War. From what I've seen, these things turn you into Anime Kratos. I'm okay with that.
Lol that's what I was thinking as well
realy solid tutorial, awnsered all my questions and the evadestep within combo can be realy nice to realocate myself. well done
Should be noted that demon mode isn't required to do the circle slide on slopes or to do the beyblade spine on their back after running at a wall or attacking out of a slope. Demon mode is needed to do it off a ledge however, and of course, demon mode does leave you doing more damage.
Hands down best weapon tutorials ever. Well done boiz 🔥
10:57 Is this the fcking Levi attack from Shingeki no Kyojin?!?
the part when you blade dance kulve taroth from his tail to his head is just so satisfying
It is a she
Forgot to mention how to mount a monster with DB's, if you stay out of demon mode and you simply jump to the monster and hit Tri as soon as you come into contact.
Squeezey He demonstrated that during the hunt.
sev00177 don't think so, you wanna give me a timestamp?
sev00177 he never mounted the monster, you lie. He did the levi move which isn't a "mount"
Squeezey 15:02. He mounted.
These guides have helped me SO much. Thanks for the great info!
When you watch a tutorial about a cirtain weapon but still get rekt so you go back to hammer mode
Thanks Arekkz! Been waiting for this guide!!!
best weapon imo. Just so fast and quick...
Be on demon mode at all times and spam triangle + circle. That is it.
thank you.
Kinda sad that the weapon is so simple
alsimard rathian does back flips, but yea.
Been watching these videos, thank you for the help my friend
With the recent trailer of Attack on Titan season 3 and an Arekkz tutorial, I expect to see a lot more dual blades weaboos users now
[Ecchi] With that name and picture are you one of them????😂
I use dual blades and longsword and consistently make anime references but I don't think I'm a weeb
Allosaurus: Do not deny your inner weeb, embrace it!
Weebs hang trees from thee.
[Ecchi] I'm a dual blade user now I use deviljho ones (the strongest)
You can also do the ride down the back of a monster by just jumping off a ledge, going into demon mode while dropping and just hitting triangle. Sometimes you dont have a good elevation or angle to use Circle off the ledge to land on a monster. Also after rolling down a monster if you have stamina use circle to spin on the ground back to the monster to close the distance faster. You can also attack with zero stamina in demon mode non stop by using triangle triangle (third triangle is ok too) and circle, then repeat. You can try evading with the circle spin move if you mess up and run out of stamina as a last ditch attempt to evade instead of trying to wait for enough stamina to roll.
unlimited combo "eternal fiery blade dance"
[B], [B], [Y], repeat
Thank you soooooo much for making this! As a new player it is really hard to see what you're actually doing with these things.
Every weapon in this game is another thing. Holy shit i didnt expected this kind of variety. This is my first MH experience I bought the game 2 days ago and already spent 20 hours in it.
How much hours do you have now?
My lord, that slicing down the back of a Kulve Torth! Hype!
*Kulve Tarroth* you swine
Arekkz please could you show your weapon loadouts for the combat test plz
Your weapon workshop videos are helpful, but this one in particular really helped me! I saw improvement immediately after taking your advice. Thank you and keep up the good work!

Me: *unintentionally drops the PSP*I really need MHWorld
If you don’t use the blade dance move and you get the timing on your dashes and triangle (Y) and circle (B) moves right you can stay in demon mode for the whole fight
Purple line's time is over, hurrah!
So what was that line?
Very informative even after 5 or so years. Thank you!
10:59 Attack on Titan!!

cool video dude, thanks!
love the oldskool VHS rewind
"Last Week's Episode"😂
I just picked up dual blades after playing with switch axe and gunlance. This is such a fun weapon, gonna play this for a while.
10:59 you actually dont need to be in demon mode to do this
after jumping off a cliff or from a vine and activating demon mode, while mid-fall, you can perform a spin attack shortly after demon dance that allows you to go into the heavenly blade dance if positioned correctly over a monster
This is the only weapon that I can say I prefer it's moveset in the previous titles. This version of dual blades honestly feels like a nerf compared to previous entries.
Don't know about feeling nerfed, but it does feel like it lost depth gameplay wise.
Please, it was broken in previous games and needed to be nerfed and you know it
Nobody's going to admit it was broken. People love it when their stuffs OP, a lot tend to whie over the tiniest "nerf" too. Happens in all games.
You seem to have missed mentioning the Teostra set bonus for dual blade users. It's incredibly good for keeping sharpness up if you build for high crit value... and dual blades can bleed sharpness like mad.
So about the cartwheel mount attack, can you grapple off of a bug and enter demon mode once you jump off and quickly do the cartwheel in mid air?
No, midair, you can only either perform a slash or enter demon mode - It's not possible to perform more than one aerial action
Meta4z Actually if you hit demon mode before you hit the monster then hit it you will cartwheel down it
fufhsi euenbeffb thank you
Enter demon mode midair then attack, you spin in midair and if you come into contact with the monster it starts the heavenly blade dance. Its good if the monster is far below a ledge and dashing off of the ledge wont hit the monster.
fufhsi euenbeffb ah shit, my bad - only tried testing it in training (guess there really is no better way to learn than actually going after a live target!)
Look like levi in attack on titan when u roll out at the back of the monster so coolll
You know what you came for
10:50
Seeing all these numbers felt so good
Monster: Haha foolish Hunter, you think you can kill me?
Hunnter: Omai wamo shinderu
Monster: Nani!?
Stay between the monsters legs, or just below centre of mass, and spam attacks on the legs. If an attack is coming, use the beyblade to move away. Most attack hitboxes seem to start at around the centre of mass so you can literally dance around the hitboxes (i.e. switching sides, either left or right, or front or behind of centre of mass) while still relentlessly attacking. Plus, attacking the legs means trips for days
