    I don't like that so many people want the Bronco to be an ultra-refined GT touring commuter, with a quiet interior and a more relaxed and numbed driving experience. This is supposed to be an enthusiast platform, which SHOULD feel a little raw and unrefined, with the manual transmission, removeable doors and tops, a lift and 35 inch AT tires from the factory. You don't buy a Harley and complain about the exhaust noise, you don't buy a Shelby GT350R and complain about the stiff suspension. Ford has about a dozen other models if all you want is comfortable highway commuter with awd for bad weather. I wish people would stop demanding the few enthusiast cars left on the market all be designed for soccer mom duty.

      @johnnnewmex ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Sure but the rawness is essentially the weak point of the Wrangler. I would not expect great highway manners but decreased cabin noise is nice on any vehicle for any purpose. Not to mention constant cabin noise can make a trip feel more exhausting. For $70k ...
      I'd like some very sophisticated noise barriers😉 ... because highway driving is going to happen at some point.

    Just got my 22' 2 door base manual hard top (non Sasquatch) with roof rails 8 days ago. I got the same exact fuel mileage with the 2.3L engine. However there is hardly any significant wind noise with mine. I was actually quite impressed at how good the sound deadening headliner works. The reverse camera is extremely low quality and I am getting a totally upgraded sound system this Saturday. Other than the disappointing highway mileage and crappy reverse camera and sound system, I absolutely love love love this vehicle! If I wanted great mileage I would have bought a Honda Civic lol.

    Good, practical review. Even the weekend warriors typically do 90% of their driving in the road. I've driven a 2 door Jeep Wrangler (soft top) with same sized tires and the road noise was awful. Anyhow, Ford has had some issues with these hard tops but hopefully that improves over time but don't expect any of these to be good everyday drivers. That was never their primary purpose.

    I had no idea the hardtop had that much wind noise, I dont think I could commute with that daily. I have a lifted truck on true 35's and it's not bad at all on road trips.

  • @RoBeaird

    Ford has apparently reduced the noise issue for 2023. My 2 door Big Bend has the optional insulation in the hard top and I hear very little wind noise at 70 mph and practically none at all at lower speeds around town. Tire noise is not bad at all, either, since I have the standard 32 inch all season tires. I'm also averaging 24 mpg in combined city/highway mileage. My 4 cylinder with the manual trans is loads of fun to drive and pretty quick, due to the lighter curb weight of the 2 door and smaller tires. The V6 is a gas guzzler with reliabilty issues. I only take my Bronco off road accasionally and I'm not a rock crawler so the Big Bend handles that quite well. If you want to use a Bronco for a dailly driver, get an insulated top and don't get the expensive optional packages with the monster tires!

    Wind noise is the price to pay for any vehicle with removable roof and doors. Don’t forget the noise from the 35 inch mud terrain tires as well. That being said, this video may have maid it seem worse than it really is. Your voice shouldn’t have been distorted and gurgling because of it. Overall good video. Wow Jill! I assumed all the wind noises, being that it was a soft top. After your walk around and seeing a hardtop I was rather disappointed at the amount of noise. I had a jeep soft top and I know wind noise for sure. It should be way quieter as a modern hard top. Ford can’t blame it on being a pre-production model or they are building vehicles with knowingly substandard parts/design.

    • @jillciminillo
      @jillciminillo 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, the hardtop was very disappointing. But I'm hopeful that this was an unrepaired top or that someone put it on wrong. This was literally the worst road noise/wind noise I've ever heard in a vehicle -- including soft-top Jeeps.

  • @stevenhuynh1999
    @stevenhuynh1999 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Well, because of the removal roof hard top, u can't expect to have no wind noise. It's designed for off roading just like the jeep wranglers. I would still buy it and put a big sound system and play bass music just like all the teenagers out there that always play their music loud. U would never hear the wind noise anymore.

    1. Ford needs to create a power option on the hatch for Jill sized people.
    2. The road noise is a safety feature. No phones so no distracted driving.
    3. Gas mileage? I expect "poor" mileage on an off road vehicle. I call it character.

      @@user-tw8ov Amen John. It is one of a dozen reasons I got rid of my 2017 F-150 ecoboost. The mpg was never what Ford claimed especially when towing. Whenever I towed over 5,000 lbs the mpg would just tank. When I towed my 8200 lb camping trailer, I never once got better than 8.5 mpg and it usually averaged around 7.5 mpg. City was 15-16 and highway was around 20 mpg.

    This is a perfect example of someone who has no basic knowledge of the vehicle. She discovers features while on camera rather than knowing her subject. She doesn't understand why her model may have more wind noise. She gets 16 mpg (I managed 24 mpg) on the highway but doesn't offer an explanation (i.e. doesn't know how her driving style & vehicle features affects mpg) I guess the real issue is that she doesn't even know what she doesn't know which makes it impossible to correct these issues.
    It's never a good thing when the "expert" knows significantly less than the audience.

I know you about as well as you know what you are reviewing and let me tell ya the wind noise is def a thumbs down. 👎🏻 but some of the review was good 👍🏻 😁.
