There were some good jokes in there, and I suppose with this being a Bronco video, this might be in a different style from most others on this channel, future and past. That said, I'd like to offer some constructive criticism from a watchability viewpoint. Engineering Explained is a place for learning a lot of of interesting things about cars and their systems. Sometimes that information comes at such a pace that it takes genuine strong concentration to follow the chain of thought leading up to the actual lesson. That's not a problem. It's a great way to learn a lot in a short time. However, when I'm concentrated to learning and instead the chain of thought ends in a silly joke, I feel like Charlie Brown having the football yanked away by Lucy. I found it distractingly jarring. I felt like I my concentration and focus "went to waste" in a way, and I wasn't sure if I was watching a comedy show or an engineering lesson. I then found myself not concentrating on the next bit of video since it was just comedy. But then when it turned out that the next bit was actually useful information, I had to go back and rewatch it because I wasn't following the lesson properly. This made for a frustrating learning experience. If these HAI-style jokes are going to be a staple on the channel from here on out, perhaps try to pace them in a ways that the listener doesn't confuse the set-up with the actual engineering lessons that require concentration. Maybe one way to do this is to give the lesson, have a pause, then crack a quick joke about it and then move on to the next serious lesson. The bit about stealing body panels from other Broncos near the end worked quite like that and was genuinely funny and not too distracting. Still a fan though, and always love to learn! I might be in the minority with my concerns. Thank you Jason for all the hard work you put in!

Fun episode. Just one critique: light bars actually have multiple advantages over headlights. 1. They are mounted up higher, so they are less likely to get muddy or damaged on terrain. 2. They are mounted high (wait, did I just say that?) This offers you a different angle of lighting which can give you a better perspective on the terrain. 3. They are often far brighter than regular headlights, yes even highbeams. 4. They can easily be pointed in any direction, giving you excellent lighting in all directions. 5. They look cool 😎
You should go review a 2010 Hummer H3T with the adventure package, if you can find one, many of the features you described were in the Hummer 11 years ago before Jeep and Ford. But today I'll stick to my Jeep Rubicon. I have the 2 door version, it's small for maneuvering trails meaning I have several lines to choose from and with the 2.0l engine I average around 26mpg for on road driving. Last but not least the auto aftermarket is enormous. The aftermarket business for Jeep has been around since the 1940s. It's still possible today to buy parts for an original Willys Jeep. But this is a good video and a fair assessment.
Very good information and detailed. As a mechanic I'm not a fan of turbos, as they tend to break down prematurely and another trip to auto repair shop. All this first generation electronics would worry me. Time will tell.
I would like to know this guy's education and background. He's brilliant and explains things so well. I have a BS in Physics and I feel like I'm in a lecture again, but with a cool teacher. Love the content
That is the absolute opposite use case for a front locker! Never lock only the front when climbing up a snowy object. In that scenario where the static coefficient of friction is crazy higher than the moving COE there is a very high likelihood that loosing traction with one wheel will cause the vehicle to slip in the direction of the wheel with limited traction. The wheel that still has grip will induce a torque on the nose of vehicle causing it to rotate, which can induce a sideways slide. An open front diff while climbing up an icy slope means that the wheel that stays in traction will be limited by the wheel not in traction, preventing this nosing over due to torque. Open, Rear locked, or all 4 locked, all work in snow and ice. Front locked? In my opinion thats sketchy and has very different uses. How do I know? I use these mechanics a lot in my outdoors fun. Offroad I use the front locker by itself to do exactly this type of slip on tight turns in snow and ice. This allows me to put the nose of the vehicle up on the side of the mountain trail I'm on, and spin the wheels to allow it to migrate over, allowing me to finish my turn and back down, successfully reversing my direction on the narrow 4x4 trails I drive.
I love how hard he leaned on the soccer mom trope, I knew as soon as I saw this thing and it’s price and weight that it wasn’t going to be overwhelming trails all over the country

Opening joke spot on. Saw my first Bronco in the wild ... in a Costco shopping center. Was actually impressed with how unassuming it was. Can't wait for one to get pulled out of Sand Hollow State Park my Matt's Off Road Recovery
It's like someone actually thought about everything, then designed the vehicle. I'd really like one but I'm waiting for the design to improve or grow on me. Also wondering how these will hold up in the rust belt. All the mud that gets caked everywhere underneath usually causes rust. I find it impossible to completely clean my 4runner. Wouldn't it be great if they had a built in rinse system you could just hook a garden hose to? Maybe pressurize it some how? Wonder if a rust proof aluminum frame is possible? Of course we all know one of the main features of a jeep is the fast forming rust everywhere, so if doubt we'll see this from them
What I love about the new bronco is the way it gets you closer to nature then ever before! Like the new hard top that’s not available or the soft top that features snow and rain in the cabin due to warped frames! That is if you can open your door when it’s snowing. Or even better when your out on the trail and snap the wimpy tie rod you will now get to experience the 5mile hike back to civilization fully immersing yourself in nature. Way to go Ford! Are these out yet? LOL ppl still waiting on their 2021 is a joke.

The blend of sarcasm and admiration in this video was top notch
Fun episode. Just one critique: light bars actually have multiple advantages over headlights.
1. They are mounted up higher, so they are less likely to get muddy or damaged on terrain.
2. They are mounted high (wait, did I just say that?) This offers you a different angle of lighting which can give you a better perspective on the terrain.
3. They are often far brighter than regular headlights, yes even highbeams.
4. They can easily be pointed in any direction, giving you excellent lighting in all directions.
5. They look cool 😎
Sarcasm is hard for some people
My jeep is for the winter. Getting through that snow for 4-5 months is awesome.
I could barely keep up with all the jokes. Amazing stuff, Jason. When's your stand up tour? :)
The script for this video is nothing short of magnificent.
Thanks for the clever descriptions of key Bronco features. This was not only informative but very funny.
Awesome... Already have mine Pre-ordered lol. So glad they they have the sasquatch package in a manual for 2022!
I always enjoy your sense of humor when discussing vehicles, but this was a gold mine of snark and I applaud you sir.
Really enjoyed this one!! I want one now, just to head out to Starbucks with it =D
Right to the nitty gritty, well done Jason.
Very good information and detailed.
As a mechanic I'm not a fan of turbos, as they tend to break down prematurely and another trip to auto repair shop. All this first generation electronics would worry me. Time will tell.
Most people don't follow the basic guidelines to not ruining your turbo
This script is incredible lmao genuinely making me laugh out loud
This looks like fun for people that can afford it and the high maintenance cost.
I just saw a Bronco irl for the first time today
Genuinely useful and well thought out PIG, now I definitely want one, lol!
Would love to see you get one of these and lightly mod it up for a long term review
Trail turn assist is a great way to tear up (aka DESTROY) your favorite trails. Clever feature, but terrible for the land.
Hahahahahaha good one
Right, because 4x4ing is already so gentle on the environment
Awesome video! I had no idea that this vehicle had all those features. Yay for science and engineering!!! This is pretty impressive!
This thing is so much bigger and heavier than the Wrangler. And no, it's not a good thing.
And most Broncos sold will probably be the 4-door version, same is true of the Jeep Wrangler. Long wheelbase is the enemy of off road capability.
I totally agree with most of the comments, this video was a stand-out, the way the jokes kept flowing was amazing.
We need to see more of this type of video. There's no rule that says you can't be informative AND FUNNY...
I'm just saying, I've never seen a bronco slither up an actively running waterfall.
I haven't seen one driving on lava, either, and I'd call it terrain!
That was about the best video I've seen in a long time. Being a Ford fan and offroad enthusiast, you pretty well hit the nail (aka me) on the head.
As a jeep owner, I gotta give FORD one for the crawler gear in the transmission, but all the electronics and drive assist seem like a great way to get someone in way over their heads.
Oh come on man most of the ppl that buy these have no problems getting in way oer their head without the electronics lol.
Opening joke spot on. Saw my first Bronco in the wild ... in a Costco shopping center. Was actually impressed with how unassuming it was. Can't wait for one to get pulled out of Sand Hollow State Park my Matt's Off Road Recovery
Did it still have it's panels?
Independent suspension or not, still doesn’t stack up to the Citroën 2cv suspension. There can be only one god.
Especially when there is a carton of eggs to transport! No second chances🤣
I was hoping you were going to do a video on the Bronco. Not into off roading as much but I love the engineering Ford puts into their trucks.
Maybe too much into their trucks with a turbo engine and too many bells & whistles to eventually break.
Of course we all know one of the main features of a jeep is the fast forming rust everywhere, so if doubt we'll see this from them
@@wojtek-33 I have the roller that has 5 sprayers that shoot up. Doesn't get everything. Also worried about electronics
Not that it proves anything, but that big puddle at 9:35 (and shown elsewhere in the video) is actually a salt bath for testing.
Dude got jokes.
Love engineer type of humor!! Best there is! 😂😂😂😂
Wish they included lights that were higher than regular lights 😂
360 degrees 💡
Great video! We just got our new 2 door Bronco First Edition in lightning blue and love it! I know we could easily flip it for way more than we paid, but it’s just too good to give up! Ford knocked it out of the park! 🔥💯
Rack and pinion and ifs are a big negative for durability when actually wheeled hard
Wranglers do too...unless you upgrade the entire suspension
Nothing like a bent 30 front axle to convince owners after going over some curbs in a parking lot HHa
Uh huh ... a mule is even better.
Guinea Pig is my new favorite acronym! Makes total sense.
"Yes, yes it was a great deal, I get it."
I feel personally attacked.
Love Jason's full bore irony and humor.
I wouldn't rely on tech to go off road.I prefer good old mecanic!
Best bronco review by a mile
Can’t wait to see the reliability of it in 3 years lol
It's the same platform that has been used all over the globe for the last 10 years. I've got 2019 Ranger and Bronco is on the same frame
Can't be worse than Fiat/Jeep!
Oh man, that jeep snowflake joke was spectacular. Great video.
