    The tow rating reduction is also because they couldnt add the additional cross member in the rear to support the frame twist under towing due to the exhaust taking up too much room. The raptor bronco has that cross member there, and that allows is the higher rating 🤙

    My grandma used to have a Wrangler and a 5th gen Bronco when i was a little kid. I remember the one ride in the bronco and basically fell in love. It was a beautiful two tone turquoise and white Eddie Bauer trim bronco. Her jeep was a brown soft-top YJ 5-speed jeep. Because of her jeep, that is the only generation of 2 door Wrangler that I actually like.

    I love the "Bronquito" moniker. We had a 2006 Ford Escape with a non-EcoBoost 2.3L V4 under the hood, which I understand is the ancestor to the engine you have. Hopefully the family tree carried over, because our 2.3L was a super reliable beast, even without the turbos. The only reason we don't still have that Escape is some Hyundai Santa Fe decided to try to kill my wife, and the insurance company totaled it. At least the Hyundai wasn't successful -- in fact, the roll cage held up surprisingly well. Wife got away with bumps and bruises.

    • @theangrymarmot8336
      @theangrymarmot8336 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Just for some clarification - it isn't a "V4" but an "I4" er inline. Ford hasn't made a "V4" since the 60s!

      Yes, insurance companies lean towards totalling cars, even if the paint matching cost is the, only issue. The escape alternator change is, ridiculously, difficult. They are durable enough to last a while for young people and they drive, aggressively. 👌

    Happy Friday Eve Sarah!!!
    For a Bronco, yes, 2dr is the only way to go, because heritage. But I do love my school bus, 4dr JK, more room for cooler with cold snacks and regular snacks, seems more planted in extreme rock crawling situations. I had an 87 full-size Bronco back in the mid 90s and loved how it turned on a frickin dime.

    17:33 That is where an independent front suspension can get you in trouble.
    If there had been a bigger dip for the right front tire to go into, you can roll the truck.
    A solid axle front end will flex a lot more and follow the terrain as opposed to lifting a tire.
    _Also, never go down a serious hill with it in neutral and the clutch in. Unless you trust your life to electronic "hill decent" mode._

    Sarah, I bought my 2024 Black Diamond Bronco due to your experience. 2 Door (4 doors are for lazy children), manual, Hot Pepper Red, trailer hitch and modular front bumper. I almost regret not getting the Sasquatch package, but that was another $8k and I figured I'd be replacing the tires and wheels anyways. The manual transmission is limiting; can't get heated seats and other fancy features without automatic transmission. Guess I'll have to move to Tucson.

    Pokey!!! Great little bronco. I’m sure you will get a front locker and trail cam on it soon.
