Thank you so much! Had this issue on my 2016 Tucson AWD SE and this worked perfectly. Saved me 800$ Just want to let you know that the part you are looking for is this 971573T000 and the one i got was from O'Reilly HVAC Actuator #DA1231. This is the correct location for the non dual climate control version of the Tucson. Also you don't need to take any panels off to get at it. You just take out the screw on the panel under the steering wheel and you can bend it back a bit to take out the screw that holds in the black vent that he removes in the video. The vent pops out and then you can replace the actuator. Super easy. Make sure before you screw in the new actuator, plug in the part turn the car on and turn the heat blend knob all the way to hot(the actuator will rotate to that position and then make sure the valve itself(the part that the actuator turns) is in the full hot position. That will give you the correct alignment for installing the new one. Hope that helps.
This is a GREAT video! My problem with my 2017 Tucson was I only had hot air so figured it was the same problem. Got the part from O'Reilly's for $66 (Murray climate control 5 terminal Air Door Actuator part #DA1231). Biggest issue I had was removing that large panel directly under the steering wheel. In the video you appeared to easily pull it off....I had to apply quite a lot of force and was worried about breaking the plastic studs or something else....but it finally came off. Everything else was exactly like your video. I am thinking it saved me a bunch of $$$. Thanks again!
Excellent info for my Tucson 2016....I did it. Great now !!!! Thanks keeping ahead, I appreciated your video....very happy, have a nice Christmas time!!!!! the BEST for You!!!
Great video, very informative and helpful. I appreciate you taking the time to film this and share your experience. I hope to complete the same repair soon and restore heat to someone's vehicle... Oh, I love the Rush track playing in the background. They're one of my all-time favorite groups. Limelight, The Trees, and Freewill are my favorites. I also loved the Happy Gilmore quote: "Are you too good for your home?"
Good video thanks, but I was always taught not to plug those in and power it up till its mounted as it may cause issues getting it installed. Manufacturers have them clocked in a specific position.
Worked fantastic for a 2016 Hyundai Tucson SE. Ordered off Amazon for $45.61 Genuine OEM 97154-3Z000 HVAC Floor Mode Actuator, Left / 971543Z000 for Hyundai Accent 15-17 Tucson 16-20 Kona 18-21 Palisade 20-21 Kia Sportage 17-21 Soul 20-21 Seltos
Man I’m forever in your debt! I live in az and usually we don’t need heat but in the winter it gets around 40° and it’s cold in the am. My wife’s car stopped blowing heat and of cours I’m the one that drives it to work. This helped me a ton!!!
My 2016 Tucson does not blow hot air at first I thought it was low coolant so I added some but still nothing. The temperature knob turns but no matter if I turn it to hot it still blows cold air. I’m not sure if it’s the part you showed in this video but it’s worth a shot Im going tomorrow to get a new one so hopefully it works fingers crossed :)
It's not just you. I just spent a solid 30 minutes trying to get the new one on and couldn't get it lined up. Just came back inside to warm up since it's freezing outside. Shaky hands are no good for that step
It’s a pain to remove the panel, instead a made a small hole in the front part of the panel using screw and screwdriver. That way I was able to remove the screw for the duct without a hassle. Had no need to remove any panel just four screws in total. 1 for the duct and three for the actuator
Gracias Señor , you just make me save around 700 .00 and more than 5 hours by not take my car to the dealers I got the part for 31.00 & in 15 minutes and i am done
I bought a certified pre-owned 2017 hyundai tuscon in Aug 22. When weather got colder I noticed that I had no lower heat AT ALL. In fact, it blows ice cold air. The top heat is barely adequate. I went to dealership that sold me the car and the extended warranty and they could have cared less. I have been fighting with Hyundai since then, and they have been absolutely awful. I will never buy another Hyundai. They said my thermostat is gone and that's too bad. Used cars don't have warranties??? The GM of the dealership told me to stop bothering him. So much for their 120 point checklist and certified pre-owned is like buying a brand new car...bullsh--I live on the Canadian prairies and I my feet are freezing no matter how long the car runs...it's like air conditioning can the bottom only be stuck on cold as in the video?
Sounds like a horrible dealership. If your not getting heat anywhere it could be low coolant or air pocket in the system. Also could be stuck thermostat.
Hello guys my car has been on cold only, I just changed the passenger side actuator I can feel a little bit of heat coming out, but the defrost is still blowing cold only... I wonder if I should change the driver's side too
Just bought a 23 Elantra sel. Watching all your videos. I want this thing to last me at least 200k. How often should I change the cvt transmission fluid? Plan on doing oil every 4-5k instead of recommended 8k
Thanks. On the new 2023 Elantra it looks like the trans fill hole is a metal bolt just left of air box and not the black plastic nut with 3/8 opening Can you possibly confirm.
@@hyundaihowto I ordered the part and hyundai dealership treated me like garbage.. saying I can't return etc.. but if a man order.. there wouldn't be a hassle.. I'm already freezing as my car is stuck on a/c
Seems like I have the same problem. However I need to ask I this. When turning the ac on it moves, does that mean it works or still needs to be replace?
@@hyundaihowto I have right hand side Hyundai Tucson 2015 model. The actuator that was causing problem it was under the glove box. Is it still actuator assy intake or is it mix?
Thank you so much. Same problem, purchased same part number at local Hyundai dealer installed in five minutes and now we have heat. Appreciate you😁
Whats the part name ?
this is like the only video online that actually shows how to do it (for this model)
How much you paid?
@@louisdeparnaudilunga4229 part was about $120 Canadian from the dealer

Respectfully asking is it necessary to remove all of that
Hello guys my car has been on cold only, I just changed the passenger side actuator I can feel a little bit of heat coming out, but the defrost is still blowing cold only... I wonder if I should change the driver's side too
Yes change the drives side one
Do you have actuators on both side passenger and Driver
DOES THIS CAR HAVE TWO ACTUATORS? ONE ON EACH SIDE? I CHANGED THE PASSENGER SIDE STILL NO HEAT BUT I SEE YOU’RE ON THE DRIVER SIDE.
Yes there is more than one actuator
@@hyundaihowto So it’s likely that the driver side needs to be changed? The passenger side was changed and the heat still isn’t working.
@anitagails2720 yes the air mix actuator is on drivers side
Respectfully asking I heard you say you didn't have to do all of that then how can you get it out if you don't remove it
Some stuff i removed so the camera can see better but it is easier with stuff out the way.

Air mix door actuator

do you have the hyundai part number, and how much

If it works it doesn't need to be replaced, but make sure the part it controls moves.
Is this a common problem for the accent as well? My sister said he knob got jammed one day and now the not heat and I want to fix it so she has heat.
That’s gonna need the a/c controller it self that’s cable driven maybe a cable also
Is this the same on the limited model as well
I believe so
Is there more then one valve
There is another one higher up. And if its duel climate control there will some on the other side.
No help sir. It's keyless
Where did you order that actuator from?
Hyundai dealership

Is this for the valve or the blendoor?
