If they can just take back a dead body and use it as a new queen, why didn't they take the first queen's body? That thing was still in tact and just left behind.
The swarm didn't appear till like 15 years after gears 3, body was probably too decomposed and myraahs conscience was in the hive mind, so they just needed a body that was connected, plus after the pulse went out, the tower was destroyed I think
Had to be one thats connected to the hive, hence why during gears 5 kait is connected to it, same ordeal, the body has to be connected to the hive, and as reyna was dead and her body was still intact, they could just twist reynas mind in the hive or put myraahs mind in it
0:31 They probably didn’t want to bring her on this mission at first, but considering the headaches that Kait gets at certain moments of the game and they go away quickly and don’t persist, that’s probably why Kait decided to go on this mission with Delta.
When Marcus invaded New Hope, he wasn't looking for the same answers that Kait was, and they didn't try and download all the information that was there. He sent her there because he was thinking that they might be able to find more information than he had. No one had anyway of knowing that the network kept any form Myyrah or Reyna alive after they were both stabbed. Not even Kait could have predicted that, and their options for getting Reyna out of the gunk were pretty limited at the end of Gears 4. The name changed from Gear of War to Gears, almost entirely because fans referred to the series as the Gears series, because they understood what the "of war" part was about but didn't feel the need to constantly say it since everyone already got it. Marcus couldn't possibly know that Reyna and Kait were related to Myyrah, and had no way of knowing that the information Kait and Del would uncover would lead them back to a lab in a similar location to the lab he already visited. Niles A.I. is clearly able to get modern information from the outside world. That may seem far-fetched, but this is the Gears were talking about, it is by no means the most out there plot point of the series, some of which you haven't talked about in the past. Despite the fact that one city looks like it's doing fairly well for itself, they are still recovering from an apocalyptic event caused by the grubs in the first three games. I doubt the chain of command is handled the same way it would be in our world which hasn't suffered one. Just a thought. This is also enforced by the idea that their enemies often use COG weapons, something they didn't used to do, because resources are lower than a normal sustained society would be, even though a war is still going on. Not every single enemy tunnels through the ground in Gears of War 4 or 5, or any of the previous Gears. In fact in this game fewer enemies are seen doing it than any previous in terms of numbers. It's almost like they are smart enough to know that using the same strategy that cost them the war 25 years ago is sort of a dried of well that they should rarely come back to, so the wall helps, at least a lot more than not having it. JD lacked character depth in Gears 4, him trying to prove himself by doing what the COG wants in order to try and become someone as famous as Marcus, and to get the recognition he so desperately wants from him, is totally something he would do. JD is promoted and sent out on a lot of missions because those in charge of the COG see a person they can manipulate who's trying to prove himself, and it works both ways because they can also get a known rebel, like how he is in the start of the game, under their control. It's classic manipulation, and as far as anyone can tell, it works. Whether or not the Swarm can see the convoy is irrelevant, because destroying humanity is their goal, taking out a hour or two, or you know, shooting at the convoy between the houses will work for them. Either they kill the convoy, or if they fail, they destroyed the homes where some of the people they want to kill live, making it harder for society to rebound. It's a win/win for them either way. They refer to Oscars places as "the last holdout" and say that "multiple people have been there before to try and recruit them" of course they know that Oscar is alive. They made that very clear. Just because you skipped the part where they said that, doesn't mean you have a point, or a sin right there. By the way, before people get mad, I do this on some of Dartigan's videos partially as a joke, but also because I hate the fact that he makes up sins based on forgetting lore as it's convenient for the length of his videos, which speaking of, this one is pretty short and has a low sin counter, which kind of proves the point that it is a good game. Don't take it too seriously though. This took me 10 minutes to write, which is also a point I like to make, because making a sins video is easy when you just find the smallest thing to poke and prod at, only to get about half of them wrong.
Apart from the JD/Del choice and abrupt ending I enjoyed the game and am having a lot of fun with multiplayer. Thanks for pointing out inaccurate sins.
@@Maesterful I didn't care for the choice either, wish they just did something in-cutscene rather than making us choose. While I agree about the abrupt ending thing, it's hardly something new for the series. Just kinda a 'Gears' staple at this point. But yeah, good on some one for taking the time to type out a post like that. The points addressed in the post were some of the things I was saying while watching the video.
The walls were built around the COG settlement's while the Locust's were crystallized and presumed dead. I doubt they were worried about subterranean threats at the time.
As far as i can remember, those walls were made for protecting the city from the storms. Ya' know, like when you are shown how they work in GoW 4 but who can play the prequel when you can sin a sequel and complain why they don't explain stuff. xd
@@x3aExPHEONIX Well, the only 2 since then were Judgement and 4. Judgement was a shit game, with less to do than in the original. 4 was a decent game, but overall, nothing special. Gears 5 didn't have to surpass anything amazing to be the best since the original 3. It was a good game, but saying "its the best since 3" doesn't equate to saying it is up there with the originals. I get you like the game, so do I, but being the best since 3 is something each new game has done. Judgement was the best since 3 until 4 was out because judgement was all there was. 4 was the best since 3 because it only had to compete with judgement for that spot. Gears 5 is the best since 3, because it was the first entry since 3 to try to spread it's wings and evolve the formula.

At 5:20 you say this was just “introduced” out of no where, but the drama with settlement 2 started in gears 4, and this was finally letting us know what happened, so no..it wasn’t out of nowhere
I don't find the video funny . But I find that most of these don't make sense. If you listen to the dialog and if you read the book. You have answer to most of the questions. If your a big fan. You know what I'm talking about. Ex. They tell you the desert was not always a desert. Or in the book how they find Oskar.
6:25 If you had paid attention to Gears 4, you would know that the reason why they didn’t look for Oscar in that game is because after Marcus was reunited with JD and his friends, Marcus stated that while he was in the pod, he was able to observe the Swarm's hive mind, the collective thoughts of the Swarm and it's victims. And then he tells Kait that the people from her village died except Reyna who was not podded and being treated differently, Kait likely thought that Oscar died as well with the rest of the people so that’s why they didn’t search for him too. As for how they figured out Oscar was still alive, judging by the Gears Wiki, during the 4 months span Del and Kait reached out to Outsider Villages to convince them to join the COG for protection and to help fight the Swarm together, so it could be possible that before going to the Riftworm Village, they could’ve figured out who the leader of the village was (Which is Oscar) and that led Kait to know that Oscar was still alive.
4:39 Though we don’t know how the Leeches take control of the Deebees, but this info from the Gears Wiki answers your question… “How they subvert and take control of electronic equipment is unknown, but like the spikes from a Pouncer, the Swarm may have bio-engineered themselves to hack into COG equipment through bio-electricity.”
I know this is a game and that I shouldn't look too deep into it, but the fact that animals can "hack" into systems through bio-electricity is a big issue for me. As bio-electricity is literally just electricity from a biological source. In fact here on earth we have some animals that can do that like an electric eel that can generate up to 860 volts. So the writers saying that bio-electricity can hack into COG systems just seems like bad writing to me. Not saying that you're wrong, but that the writers really didn't think this plot point through. I know the swarm is bio-engineered but it still doesn't make sense, even when taking that into account.
Regarding the room full of computers that were necessary for nothing: Rocket launches aren't just about launching the rocket. A launch includes weather checks, ATC checks, navigational redundancies, guidance checks, capsule communications officers, flight surgeon verification checks, and a whole room full of people at their own terminals all running go/no-go checks in succession. In theory, Yes, a rocket launch COULD remove most of those people, especially when launching an empty rocket or a bare payload, and you Could remove the redundant systems without screwing everything up, especially when patching in a computer built 25 years into the future that can do the work of the full crew all on its own.
Sin 36: Dude you said the game feels like it's stuck in the late 2000's So they implemented new stuff like the open world. New ways to use guns. The knife. Jack being able to fight. Everything made the game new and well welcomed.
Dead Viking here's the thing, they have literally used sins word for word... remember the star swipe for jump scares? Word for fucking word they stole it
A Sin for this game imo That had me kinda upset was the ENTIRE thing with the matriarch. Its plastered in the ads the commercials and bolstered up to look like the main antagonist, the Original locust queen of sorts something like that but no after its "escape" and thinking "OH NO we released the Most POwerful locust ever" nope we kill it outright a few minutes later and never mention it again. So why is it made to look like its soooooo important to the main plot that literally could have been a better ending to this game? well no reason other than Bait Imo
6:49 im not sure how real military would react to this, but im guessing he got promoted to captain since despite causing a gear's death he was willing to risk himself to save everyone else by making the hammer target near him since he had to go near locust to do it
How strange is it that in less than a year, Laura Bailey voiced TWO tough and straightforward characters, both of whom lost a father/father-figure and both games had scenes in which the character had to be held back by the friend/love interest after walking in on the dead father figure?
Man with all the bad rocket science bits you were pointing out, I was sure you were going to multiply some of those sins by like 50 or 100 times each. But no, you just left them at a single sin. I...am unsure how I feel about that.
I doubt Marcus could clear up the locust origins. He went to New Hope for mapping data - or info about his father.. I don't remember. However, I do know for certain it was NOT to figure out where the Locust came from. In Gears 1-3, where they came from was irrelevant, the concern was getting rid of them. Now Chairman Prescott - HE might have been able to clear that up, but since he died in 3... IIRC even Hoffman notes that he was completely unaware of New Hope until right before Marcus was sent there.
I just got done with this game and really enjoyed it! It was long as hell and I got the motivation to play it like once every 3 weeks but overall it was good.

The story makes no sense to
"JD's actions which involved firing a laser.. blah blah... were rewarded with a promotion" is actually pretty consistent with the COG as an authoritarian regime.
Really love gears 5 but everything you said is what I have said also my biggest thing being JD should of been court marshaled like marcus was in the original 3 game at most marcus influence and anya being a past first ministers should of got him removed from the army unlike marcus who was meant to be sent to death but adams influence got him prison time instead
Pretty sure anya was dead long before JD joined the army.
@@reggieloaiza2285 yeah she was but since she was a first minister that would give him points since jin looked up to her as is said in the game saying that though thats probably the reason he wasnt court marshaled. Could of explain the first part alittle better tho

They didn't actually leave Reyna's body connected to the hive. The novel that bridges the gap between the end of 4 and 5 apparently describes them burying her body and sealing the grave. However how she's brought "back to life" and has Myrrah's consciousness.. that's obviously fuzzy.
Probably the swarm having an temporary alpha general like in the fourth game and they found Reyna body and reconnected her.
Also don't forget the swarm is like a hive mind with every single locust having their subconscious connected so Myrrah to og locust queen could have had the sams

And he tried to continue her work by tricking Kait into resurrecting Rena using the Matriarch's psychic powers, so he seems more likely taking part in it. We also hear that Kait's grandfather worked for Niles, so he'd probably also leave clearance linked to his DNA as well.

break pad 5 had me in tears, glad I found this gem
At least Dartigan understands that Del had to die.
They did bury Reyna in the comics, after kait killed her, delta squad had a proper funeral for her but the swarm found where her body was and took it
If they can just take back a dead body and use it as a new queen, why didn't they take the first queen's body? That thing was still in tact and just left behind.
The swarm didn't appear till like 15 years after gears 3, body was probably too decomposed and myraahs conscience was in the hive mind, so they just needed a body that was connected, plus after the pulse went out, the tower was destroyed I think
@@tylerstrickland9679 then why take Reyna and NOT kill her, if a human body that myraah can inhabit was always an option?
Had to be one thats connected to the hive, hence why during gears 5 kait is connected to it, same ordeal, the body has to be connected to the hive, and as reyna was dead and her body was still intact, they could just twist reynas mind in the hive or put myraahs mind in it
0:31 They probably didn’t want to bring her on this mission at first, but considering the headaches that Kait gets at certain moments of the game and they go away quickly and don’t persist, that’s probably why Kait decided to go on this mission with Delta.
Oil Filter 1, Clutch 2, Spark Plug 4....Ive never laughed so hard!
I'm surprised you haven't sinned Control yet, I've heard there's a lot wrong with it, like good boss fights being the sidequests
No sin removal for. “It’s fhaz right?”
Uh,yes sir.
The walls were built around the COG settlement's while the Locust's were crystallized and presumed dead. I doubt they were worried about subterranean threats at the time.

@@peaches365 Gears 5 is the best in the series since 3, aside from the Microtransactions.
First the game is stuck in the past for being the same, than it's having an identity crisis for trying something different. Which is it?

Doom eternal appetizer haha good stuff. Tell it like it is
You are absolutely right about some things you say and a little to cynical about other points
I’ve always found that games start being shit when they try to make it too serious and professional. They forget to have fun while making it
4:39 Though we don’t know how the Leeches take control of the Deebees, but this info from the Gears Wiki answers your question…
“How they subvert and take control of electronic equipment is unknown, but like the spikes from a Pouncer, the Swarm may have bio-engineered themselves to hack into COG equipment through bio-electricity.”
I'll vote for Astral Chain... but only if you add on a sin for each scoop of ice cream lost to the motion control mini game.
I really like all your videos, your commentary is always correct and always funny!!
Regarding the room full of computers that were necessary for nothing:
Rocket launches aren't just about launching the rocket.

Super stoked that the voice of Deckard Cain and half of Skyrim is still the voice of Carmine.
3:46 Case-in-point: That's what it seems they tried to do in the first Bay Transformers.
How strange is it that in less than a year, Laura Bailey voiced TWO tough and straightforward characters, both of whom lost a father/father-figure and both games had scenes in which the character had to be held back by the friend/love interest after walking in on the dead father figure?

Did you know that wwe and Hollywood star Dave Batista aka Batista is bonus content for this game
Point 1: There is a greater focus on characters (the ‘Gears’) and a lesser focus on War. So Gears 5 is a smart refreshing change.
