This is an awful analysis. From someone who's used devices like the pixel 8, OnePlus 11, and the Xperia 5 Iv yet still returns to the 4 year old v60. The Dac is absolutely incredible, and has been since it's genesis. The SD card slot is incredibly useful and versatile. The Manual Camera flexibility and creative range is and has been ahead of it's time. All the stuff I just listed are things that have actual real world usefulness. @@RealWorldReview You could get these for under $200 in 2020? That's nuts! I have one incoming (and I hope it's not a scam) to replace a Velvet 5G that I dropped and cracked unfortunately. Did a TON of research for a phone with a headphone jack and everything I read said get a Moto G Power (2024) which is $300, glad a did a little bit more research and remembered how much I loved the V20, and the Velvet was awesome too. LG absolutely tried too hard to be innovative from phone to phone. But man, sub $200 for a mint V60 vs new phones how can you go wrong?
The quad dac is nice, but imo its not about the dac as much as it is about the amp. It can run phones up to 600ohms. Other phones top out at 50ohms. There is some serious power amplification there and the dack helps keep the noise down as the power draws higher. Thats the biggest reason I like the phone, I can drive my beyerdynamics on it. This makes it a great counter to having to spend 500$+ on a DAP that has the same power amplification.
I got mine 2 years ago. For a phone that stopped being made over a year prior to when I got it, it received more updates and support than every other phone I have bought from any manufacture, let alone an Android version upgrade. I think every Motorola I have had only ever got a single post launch update, and usually only a security patch.
kinda weird review, i have V60, Z Fold 4 and 14 pro max, i don't know why but i still choose my V60 as my daily driver.. that thing is more than a phone for me and still able to beat up my fold 4 and my 14 PM, and don't forget LG was the inventor of Wide Camera and they choose not to patent the technology so other company can use it, the company was really stood up to it's trade mark which is "Life's Good"
I love my Lg V60 it has all the features i wanted plus the dual screen which was a game changer. Nothing out there has matched this phone's speakers, storage and overall performance.
The DAC does make a difference but only when playing highe quality audio files. TH-cam, mp3, pandora, and spotify all compress their audio so the dac doesnt make a difference. Dual screen is just like having 2 monitors. Some people make good use out of it, some dont. Depends on the user. I enjoy being able to flip the video recording between the front & rear camera mid-video. The double tap to wake/sleep, and so forth. Very cheap for what you get, too. So if you break your phone you can get a new one cheap!
@Matanumi You're fighting a losing battle now, even budget phones are start lose the jack example samsung a16 remove the jack. Voting with your wallet doesn't work.
I think you might have wanted to put some of the positives to the front end so people could understand that it wasn't just a bash session. At the end of the day, I ended up picking up this phone because it feels safe. I am in the market for a power user experience, and with the increase of ads and other interrupted experiences. I can use something else while it finishes (or block the ads) it seems to make sharing things easier, and having the dual screen experience be a choice is great. You can choose whether or not you want one or two screens to be in danger when you go out. I love technology, but we are definitely getting to a point where we have so much power and only one screen to use it, and fold screens are fragile (maybe not anymore) and if you plan to keep the device, good luck. But a little bit of it bothers me as the most we end up doing on phones is photo and video taking, watching videos and infinite scrolling, (some gaming too) yet a lot of people want to pay more for a phone than a computer...
There is not one gimmick on this phone. That claw dac was some high impedance headed phones. My goodness definitely not a music lover if you think it's a gimmick... Cameras are amazing. Manual mode provide video modes that LG had were second to none. The cell phone that you have in your hand who's influenced by l g
I'd still be using my V30+ (my favorite phone ever) but it's a Sprint phone and I was forced to switch to a T-Mobile one after the buyout. Got a S20FE. It's nice, but I miss the smaller size of the V30, headphone jack, no hitch or camera hole and certain features it had. Still use it a music player for headphones or connecting via a wire to my car stereo. I miss LG. Sad they stopped making phones.
The quad dac is useful to drive an over the ear headphone, not necessarily an IEM. With that said, my Truthear Hexa IEMs are a bit harder to drive than other IEMs. I also have a Zenfone 9 and I have to turn the volume up pretty high to get an acceptable volume with the Hexas. I'd be curious if the LG did the same thing
Funny enough I have a Ugreen adapter which was pictured in here (32bit/384khz) that produces lower sound when compared to the Aux on the V60 and Zenfone 9. Not too smart when it comes to what is needed to make the audio sound loud, but all I do know is the Sony Xperia 1 I reviewed a couple years ago was terribly low lol. But to compare the V60 and Zenfone 9, I notice no difference when using something like the Moondrop Chu II
tip: you can open the dual screen and fold it all the way back like you would with a notebook. I use it that way and only flip it forward when I need it. for example, when I input a very specific set of numbers I can't possibly memorize, from one app to type into the another. it can also do wireless charging with the dual screen attached

So, you bought an external DAC and determined that this phone sounded the same with it? And you call its internal DAC a gimmick? I do not see the logic in this.
Maybe the Zenfone 9's headphone jack is that good. Between the V60, Zenfone 9, and the 2 external DACs I got, there is practically no difference (when testing 64ohm or under IEMs)
The Lenovo pen is like 25 usd and pretty great. Good for drawing, as well as pro app use. You can essentially use it to do convenient photo/video editing. The dual screen case is AMAZING. because you have a magnetic charger so you get no port wear, and it makes for a great stand in for Android auto. I have a dual launch set up for Spotify and maps so I press one button and I'm on my way. I can use it for gaming and have a custom controller available mapped to on screen tough, but with no extra plastic crap, though I liked the V500n version better. The loudspeaker is WILD, because when watching landscape videos at normal distance, you almost have binaural audio. The actual loudspeaker is the screen. The only limits on this phone are in the screen, which was downgraded from uhd, and should have been 120hz, though it's probably better for the battery life.
Bought mines in 2020 and still have it till today. I love this phone but I did buy a OnePlus Open due to LG not supporting the phone anymore and I really like the One Plus Open Apex Addition
One thing I haven't seen anyone mention I love this phone mostly for the processing UI like the actual video albums all of that the file system everything is just works flawlessly and perfectly together way better than anything I've used since it's not too cluttered it just works like technically I don't really use my headphone jack as much anymore but when I do incredible unfortunately don't have the dual screen which I am saving up for but even without those things best phone ever for had in my life
1. You forgot to mention that in basic camera mode you have an option for manual focus a feature that is not in my Galaxy S23 ultra. 2. The always on display is hands down the best in the industry. 3. There is no option to set up default text messages when declining a call. For example in the LG call UI you have the options to answer reject and to send a text reply. you did show you enabled the dac with head phones its not on by default. Maybe you were using shit head phones or didnt have it on because it makes a huge different between when its off and on.
Looking to upgrade my current phone (bought in 2017-2018, Oppo A91) to this. I want an SD slot and a headphone jack but not a lot of phones have this still. Is this phone still worth it in 2024?
Gave my V60 to wife because I wanted Volte/Wowifi/5G (not supported in my country by this phone) and bought an Oneplus 11. I felt the downgrade on so many levels. I have 5G now but it costed me worse camera, audio quality, lack of audio jack, screen color accuracy, solid feel on the hand, pen that supported angle and pressure sensitivity and other minor details.
For those of you buying this phone - where are you getting it from? What sellers would you trust? I love my V60 but it's literally coming apart in my hands. I'm not ready to say goodbye 😢
i still daily drive my note9 for remarkably similar reasons. sadly i can't find a current model or upcoming model phone that properly replaces this old girl. that makes me sad cause she's starting to chug on the new stuff and at some point the software will be so outdated it won't run new apps.
The main thing not taken into context in this video...this can be had for less than $200, much less, but NO phone at that price range new comes close to the features and often even the specs (except for actual number of gigs of ram) except for maybe higher refresh rate on the display (60hz is soo slow, we've only been using it for like a century before a few years ago!) which is kind of a gimmick on a phone. These P-Oleds are mostly as good as Samsung's Amoleds, no major difference once you went oled, compared to any type of LCD (even the "good" type of LCD, IPS displays). I understand it won't compare to the latest Samsung, OnePlus or any other released like... yesterday! No one expects that now. It should be taken into account how buying renewed is often a great deal, so this phone is amazing if gotten in almost new condition (this will obviously become harder and harder as time passes).
I have this very phone and ill have to say this thing is pret-ty f$!#in tough. Ive dropped both the phone, case and all, several times dunked it in water, dropped it in the shower, etc. Its a pretty rugged phone tbh. And for less than $200? You cant beat it..
A phenomenal phone for the fraction of the price of today's flagships. Just goes to prove that Samsung and Apple will charge a ridiculous amount because they know people will pay it.

I am sorry, I disagree. LG V30+ and LG V60+ are both fantastic phones. The dual-screen comes really handy when I trade stocks and options. I open my charts on one screen and open the trading window on the other. That makes it super easy to trade using the mobile. Can't beat the convenience of having 2 screens open at the same time. LG lets you have 2 screens for such uses at half the cost of the other companies, and no one can beat that. I loved it so much that my family now has 3 V60+ phones with dual screens and one LG V30+. This after having had Samsung, Sony and iPhones before. I would have had to pay an arm and a leg to have the same from any other company.

I wish you had an honest comment about this phone but you're comparing it to some other phone you used / reviewed or are sponsored by. Thought that was what you were reviewing..."Aux Jack, SD Card Slot...on a Phone??? - LG V60 ThinQ 5G - Worth it in 2024? (Real World Review)"
You must been looking too deeply in this. With the exception of some phones that were borrowed (from friends and family, not given to me from any company), every phone reviewed on this channel is purchased by myself with my money. Only things that were given to me for review have a disclaimer in the beginning, but even then I’m critical about those videos, where I tell the pros and cons. Ultimately, this is my review based on my usage. One major thing is that it was a pain to even get texting to work on this phone since it was a Verizon phone and I have T-Mobile. This doesn’t happen with most modern phones, but the reason I omit that from the review is because most people aren’t going to buy a Verizon version to use on a different carrier, even if that will work. I did review the phone for what it is lol 60hz feels slow now, that’s the fact of life. Sure you’re watching the video at 60hz, but the issue is when frame drops happen, we notice the difference from 1-60hz, while 60-120hz becomes harder to notice, as we generally see real at 45+ “frames per second”. The headset jack is useless to me because I don’t have any buds to use on that. Is it cool that it comes with the phone, sure, but it comes on the Motorola Edge+ (2020) as well, with the Quad DAC from the V60 being swapped out for the 90hz waterfall display on the Edge+ (2020). Same processor, but more RAM and 256gb built in with no sd slot. It is impossible to do a review without a comparison because what would make it better? Just buy the phone if you want it, but when you’re questioning whether you should spend the money on something, you look at the other products you can buy with that money. We watch old reviews for confirmation, while new reviews at launch are to learn about the product. This $700-$900 phone is now under $200, but so are a lot of other phones in its class.

I know you have nothing but biased opinions when you said the jack was bad. LG shouldn't have stopped making phones but iphone snobs ruined it. They tried everything to make a phone people would love, they tried to be unique and interesting.
@@RealWorldReview You can use context clues! So actually if you use a product as a daily driver you are biased no matter if you "trash it" or not. Calling one of the best jacks on a smartphone a gimmick is crazy. Calling any headphone jack a gimmick is crazy everyone knows wired is better than Bluetooth, even if just barely.
@@D-syncMonopoly the gimmick is the dac that not a lot of people utilize. When people want headset jack phones, they don’t end up going to the LGs, unless they do actually care. Because yes, I understand that this is a better value over a device that has a similar dac, as I’d rather pay $200 for this than $1k+ for essentially an iPod with a good dac. But even in the video I showed that buying a USB C dac is possible, which is why I bought that specific one because it’s the closest to the dac built in the V60. So for a music machine, sure, good price. But for a phone with a headset jack and all the extras, I’d take a Zenfone or Xperia 1 series over the V60 (as we all should if price isn’t the deciding factor)
@@RealWorldReview Price is the deciding factor it always was and will always be. Also saying people didn't use a headphone jack is enough proof to throw out any relevance or credibility. They removed the headphone jack for greed. Phones are boring now, just because they can fold doesn't mean anything. Taking away features that someone will use every day or once a month is still cheap. You said it was a gimmick and your excuse is that "not everyone uses it." It's like when they stopped using physical home buttons for precious screen real estate. Apple is a catalyst for boring generic phones.

@@fredericocorrea9814- Cool. I'm thinking about getting one myself, actually. If for nothing else to keep as a collector's item. I just ordered the LG Wing. A part of me hopes that LG gets back into the smartphone business, because they do make some unique devices.
@@fredericocorrea9814 My family loves this phone and its dual screen
My LGv20 just died a couple days ago...
I've ordered a v60, hopefully I can manage to get a good one.
I absolutely love mine

@@ChrisMor.1 a seller on eBay iirc.
They've since ran out of stock.

I have two LG V 60's. I'm thrilled with how it performs daily.
Honestly, I think the v60 the best phone of the 5G era. Had one plus and Samsung and pixels since my v60 and I still go back to it all the time.
At the time of release, for sure. Good price and pretty good phone back in 2020.
Absolutely one of the best phones out there, even today.
So true. Nothing else comes even close.
7:50 and he missed the additional mics at the back of the camera
The DAC does make a difference but only when playing highe quality audio files. TH-cam, mp3, pandora, and spotify all compress their audio so the dac doesnt make a difference.
Dual screen is just like having 2 monitors. Some people make good use out of it, some dont. Depends on the user.
I enjoy being able to flip the video recording between the front & rear camera mid-video. The double tap to wake/sleep, and so forth.
Very cheap for what you get, too. So if you break your phone you can get a new one cheap!
I gave up on the headphone jack only this year. But still can't imagine myself buying a smartphone or tablet without microSD support
Usb c thumb drives have way faster transfer speed then slow outdate sd cards.
To hell with that SD cards stay in the spot
Also I'm not gonna give up the Jack
@Matanumi You're fighting a losing battle now, even budget phones are start lose the jack example samsung a16 remove the jack. Voting with your wallet doesn't work.
@@green9227 Yeah. But USB DAC is actually pretty good. So I use DAC now.
Me still using a V30 and looking to upgrade on the cheap to a V60 😅
Haha same here.
I have been an LG user V20, V30, G6 all because of the quad dac, you need 64 ohm head phones for the quad dac to activate and hear the difference
Have still not used 90/120hz on phones, I only saw the benefit with games on PC, finally getting my first 144hz monitor in 2021.
I had a crush on this . But didn't have the money to buy it.
Me too
They drive my zs10's and my cca rhapsodies really well at half the volume settings as my Samsung note 20 ultra does.
tip: you can open the dual screen and fold it all the way back like you would with a notebook. I use it that way and only flip it forward when I need it. for example, when I input a very specific set of numbers I can't possibly memorize, from one app to type into the another. it can also do wireless charging with the dual screen attached
This man don't know what he is commenting about this phone.😂 This phone is a good phone. There is no gimmick about this phobe.

I have v60 its very powerful in imulator games and the DAC blast my headphone to d max.nice camera and good battery
The v60 still runs for me but my v50 was a superior phone. Sprint and T-Mobile did us dirty with disabling them
The cameras are really good, the front facing camera is good too
Can you click on an app? I mean who reviews a phone and not click on ANY app?
Great phone, my wife still uses it and the battery is still holding very very strong. This phone is literally bulletproof
It can be gotten for around 150-170, so yeah. But don't expect brand new, but renewed.
@@MoonOvIceCan you help me to deciding that should I buy G8X Thinq with Dual Screen or not at 195$ in 2024 as main?
Gave my V60 to wife because I wanted Volte/Wowifi/5G (not supported in my country by this phone) and bought an Oneplus 11. I felt the downgrade on so many levels. I have 5G now but it costed me worse camera, audio quality, lack of audio jack, screen color accuracy, solid feel on the hand, pen that supported angle and pressure sensitivity and other minor details.
Been using it since it came out. About to buy a new SD card
What about desktop mode?
For those of you buying this phone - where are you getting it from? What sellers would you trust? I love my V60 but it's literally coming apart in my hands. I'm not ready to say goodbye 😢
I wonder what exactly LG was trying to accomplish?
In the event if they have unsold phone in the stock v60 kindly despatch it to me since Amazon can not ship to my destination
i still daily drive my note9 for remarkably similar reasons. sadly i can't find a current model or upcoming model phone that properly replaces this old girl. that makes me sad cause she's starting to chug on the new stuff and at some point the software will be so outdated it won't run new apps.
So where to get a good v60?
I have this very phone and ill have to say this thing is pret-ty f$!#in tough. Ive dropped both the phone, case and all, several times dunked it in water, dropped it in the shower, etc. Its a pretty rugged phone tbh. And for less than $200? You cant beat it..
What do you expect from an iPhone user!!! He's a big time hater
God forbid I have opinions. I’ll make a sure every review moving forward has no opinions whatsoever. Even ones based on facts and tests
A phenomenal phone for the fraction of the price of today's flagships. Just goes to prove that Samsung and Apple will charge a ridiculous amount because they know people will pay it.
Bro is humiliating the phone...give him the s24 ultra still he would say that they should've gone for 201 mp camera 😂
Glad that I'm still using my v60 😊

Because nobody bought them people just look right over them, sheep. O. G was one of the greatest things that ever came into Android and it was a huge loss there V. Series still stands up to the best of today. I'm going to amazon right now to buy one fuck me
I've just realized that you need 3 screen protectors with the dual screen
talking about screen protector can I use those glass screen protector on both screens? I worried about them breaking when closing.
I've no idea, but now I've thought about it a little more, I don't think screen protectors are needed if the phone is closed like a book
@@peterjameswalmsley9185 well you never know when something happened to them even when they're closed so better always add a layer of protection on them.
@@Am4ndeepSingh but is that not like wearing a rain coat while chilling on the couch haha 😂
@@peterjameswalmsley9185 Only difference is between human body & phone body is that our body can heal easily from minor scratch but phones can't(only G Flex back could) & I don't think it will hurt any performance or quality experiences by just applying a good tempered glass on both screens, even my half $ giving me better experience & scratch resistant compared to overpriced one, it only had one crack in last 4months usage which mostly not visible yet no scratches.
So better apply tempered glass if there enough gap between both screens when closing it. I'll do same once I'll get mine LG.

Are you reviewing the phone for what IT is or comparing it to every other i/galaxy phone you've reviewed?
Are you looking for this phone to do things that weren't available prior to the phone release?
Is that fair?
4yr Old phone...Is it still relevant to this day for what it is?
Aren't iphones 60?

this guy is unbelievable. All the things you need and want in an android unit is in the V60 lol. And most people don't really need the 9300+ Mediatek or can access dolby vision movies, and really iphone with literally all your info divulged is a real bad phone. My sisters got evolutions of expensive iphones and really never was there a significant beautiful photo ever, whilke the LG G4 and V60 have super stunning photos even works like telephoto 3x((:
This is obviously what happens when you give an android phone to an iphone user 😆 Its a gimmick, just buy an iphone lol
So basically a hate video :/ i just got mine and i think its much better than some phones out now
If your a fold user you've probably owned this phone

I know you have nothing but biased opinions when you said the jack was bad. LG shouldn't have stopped making phones but iphone snobs ruined it. They tried everything to make a phone people would love, they tried to be unique and interesting.
Are you going based on the Apple Watch and iPhone? What bias do I even have? Have you watched my iPhone reviews lol
Wow, very sad. This guy, Has Never and I mean never used this Phone!! The Sound Quality if you use the headphone jack, is phenomenal! Like I honestly never heard better.
