The LG-V60 is pretty much on a par (soundwise) with the Fiio M23, Hiby R6 Pro 2, Sony NW-WM1AM2

I can confirm that that LG V60 DOES take a 1TB Micro SD card. I purchased a NIB LG V60 off ebay a week ago and also a 1TB Sandisk card and it works perfectly.

Questi, quante tracce vedono?

I also have the sony and the v60. I only use the 4.4 on the sony and dont get any hiss with my gear so far with my empire ears legend x or campfire audio honeydew. Sound stage is wider on the sony and thats a major difference to me. V60 can compensate with 3d audio on. The sony has warmth and more note weight. It only shows up in some tracks because recordings can vary, and the style of music may not make it matter. V60 way faster and way better screen. People forget the v60 came out as a flagship phone and cost 800$. The fact its a phone and was massed produced made it depreciate when dap manufacturers dont do that. I agree the value is with the v60 if you can still get one. V60 is way more portable. The difference is only noticeable to me because i have the luxury of having multiple daps. V60 is a safe rec and yes i can say it does take 1tb. I am currently using the moondrop miad 01 as my daily

I haven't tried the 4.4mm but all of my IEMS (Fiio JD7, FH3, Ziigaat Doscinco, Thieaudio Hype 4) on every Sony device I have there is a noise floor. They aren't massively sensitive IEMs either like the Campfire Audio Andromedas. The LG-V60 is silent. On some tracks the soundstage sounded wider, on others not and on some I really couldn't hear a difference. It varied.

Kind of defeats the whole buying the V60 to play music. His point is you don't need anything else like a dongle to get quality music playback. The dongle bypasses the internals and takes over how it sounds and it will drain the battery faster.

    An Awesome device.
Still using as a daily driver. Actually have 3 of them used in rotation along with a V20.
All have awesome DAC's but I give My V20 the edge over the V60's. Not by a whole lot though. It just seems to have a better tuning and separation. It's also the B&O variant, might have something to do with it.
The V20 has the ESS Sabre 9218 on board. Raw and unhindered by any DSP options.
The V60 has the newer ESS Sabre 9219 onboard. This one has a few DSP options to re-shape the sound signature. I keep mine set to the "Short Filter, and the "Bass" sound preset. Onboard EQ is set to flat.
Poweramp handles everything else. I use a custom 12 band parametric EQ.
Sony MDR's or Soundmagic E80c's are My current favorites to listen on. So clear and wide open it's like I'm right there and not even wearing anything over My ears

Just wanted to point out that when you're talking about noise floor you can't really assess this without music playing. Some of these devices mute/disconnect the headphone output completely when no signal is being played. You cant hear hiss because the output is disabled. Reason why sony hisses is that it apparently doesn't mute the headphone out.

To me, the whole point of portable HI-FI is the ability to use streaming as well as recorded music on the go. Meaning listening to music streamed from the servers of such services as Tidal, Amazon Music or Spotify, etc. totally independent of my WI-FI router when I am out and about. I like to discover new music which is offered instantly and automatically by these streaming services, not only listen to music which I previously downloaded. Therefore, the best portable solution for me is either a smartphone with a high quality DAC/AMP built-in or a smartphone + portable DAC/AMP. DAPs are not matching this purpose fully. The key phrase to achieve all this here is: unlimited cellular data plan.

Dude no it is NOT ON PAR. i literally have owned SEVERAL of these devices and the power output isnt ANYWHERE NEAR with the output of devices like fiio, ibasso, A&K, etc....I can prove this in a second in a 30 second video, it is apparent that a good dedicated dap is much more powerful than a consumer phone. My fiio m23 can literally make you go deaf if you arent careful, my v60 can barely drive over ear headphones. The v60 might be good for very sensitive IEMs but not in the same field as a dedicated DAP.

    • @PerputuallyCensored
      @PerputuallyCensored  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

I never mentioned over ear headphones, you did. I don't use them so I don't care. I don't care about the ability to drive over ears either. Once again, someone projecting their opinions onto me for things that were and are irrelevant to my video. Even my title states that I am talking about sound and you still wrote that comment.

  • @NielsMayer

Utter nonsense. There is a vast difference. Even the Fiio BTR15 offers substantially better sound, more solid and thumpy bass, cleaner highs, imaging. I have a V60 which is my main phone which I've had for years. Certainly a great-sounding phone output compared to your standard mobile or laptop phone jack. But an external DAC is no match, and that's even with tricks like using a short extender to trick it into high-output mode before plugging in the headphone. For one, the V60 driving the aux input on my car, it is **VERY** noisy and unusably so when charging from a 12v USB adapter.... and that noise imparts a haze on the sound. In comparison the Fiio BTR15 sounds night-and-day better, much quieter, no haze. The Fiio M23 (which I just returned) sounds even better, even more punchy on the bass, and has the advantage of allowing the PO output to be set as a line-out, as opposed to the futzing and occasional-danger of ear-blast in having to adjust the volume control on BTR15. And its battery lasts long enough that it can self-power for most car-trips, avoiding noise from 12v USB charging --- and leave the mobile phone running maps plugged in and charging, with all the 5G, GPS and charging noise completely uncoupled from my aux input. For headphones it's the same: BTR15 sounds substantially better with hidisz MP145, Truthear Nova, or Sundara. M23 sounds even more powerful and punchy, which is especially noticeable on the Sundara. The V60 simply doesn't have enough power to properly drive the HifiMan Sundara. The improvement on sound delivered by the M23 gets turned up to 11, and overall is less fatiguing and more pleasant and clearer high-end.

Your comment is stupid on multiple levels, that I have already covered in other videos. Because you're probably not bright enough to work it out I'll help you a bit here... Projecting your experience, with completely different equipment/different use case etc, onto me is as moronic as it is pointless. My video is over 20 minutes and contains quite a lot of things so when you say "Utter nonsense" you need to refer to something specific. I could go on and on...

No offence at all, I think the V60 is fantastic but it doesnt perform better in transients and depth than those DAPs.
But add an I basso D16 Taipan to this then yes, for sure a flagship Dap killer. But jot as it is.

Very misleading to call the v60 a $200 device. It's a $700 device that we're getting for 200 dollars refurbished, ONLY because of the special circumstances of LG mobile shutting down. Unfair to point out the price difference this way.

    • @snowzZzZz

so what, most daps are stupidly overpriced and only affordable if you get them used
if you can get it for a lower price, it is worth mentioning
it is not hard finding an LG phone for as low as $100 if it's a V20
that is a real world scenario
if he was basing it off of some lucky price that he got off of a 1 of a kind action, then I'd agree with you
