  • Mandy and Steve O'Shea of 3 Porch Farm grow heirloom Chrysanthemums on their farm in North Georgia and sustainably ship rooted cuttings nationwide (excluding Ak, Ca, Hi). These hearty plugs grow into long-stemmed, long-lasting plants ideal for cut flowers. We're talking average 2-5" stems when well grown, and at least two weeks' life in the vase (with clean water, of course).
Bailey welcomed Steve and Mandy to Instagram Live for a talk all about how to grow their Heirloom Mum rooted cuttings. Calling on their decades of flower farming experience, the trio give an overview of Heirloom Mum culture and answer viewer's questions in this one-hour chat.
Learn the difference between pinching and disbudding, how to overwinter your plants, and why you need to net these tall varieties.
Intrigued? You can enliven autumn bouquets and extend your season with new Heirloom Chrysanthemums, now available for Spring 2024 shipping at farmerbailey.c....

Hi, thanks so much for watching! I do not have such a photo since the idea comes from Steve and Mandy, but perhaps @3porchfarm has something on their Instagram account. ~Felicia

Can you cut when just opening, or do they need to be fully bloomed?

Hi Madonna! It is ideal to harvest mums when the flower or spray is 50% open. Hope this helps! ~felicia

You will have to choose Early blooming varieties to make sure they are ready to be cut before your first frost. ~Felicia@@rbrown2746
