  • Very few lost cave divers survive. But every once in a while--usually only if Edd Sorenson is around--a lost cave diver gets rescued alive. In this episode of DIVE STORIES, world famous cave technical rescue diver Edd Sorenson talks about one of the rescue dives where he was able to make it in time to save the life of a lost cave diver at Jackson Blue Springs, in Florida.

DIVE STORIES is the new series on @BlueWorld_plus featuring famous scuba divers talking about experiences they had in the world of diving. Some are scary. Most are amazing.

You're totally alone in 0 visibility and you know you're running out of air and running out of time just trapped in an air pocket with no gas. As you start to panic out of the darkness a mystery hand just comes out of the water offering you more gas. The guy would be out of it and not even know if it was real in the moment. Nobody else has to drown (though I have no doubt some will anyway)... AND Edd could regale us with stories narrated by him, and re-enacted by actors for more than a decade!!!
Throw just a bit of production to the "fade to scene" while he voice-over's the thing, and whether you animate it, or just blue-screen divers in a pool going through the motions, the visuals to work with his telling would get to everyone...

What is awesome about Edd is that if a person is saveable, and Edd is on the job, they will live. Period. No mystery as to why they call the GOAT!

Great video, love listening to Edd, great story teller. The diving community is made up of a really good group of people, at least the one’s I’ve been exposed to. Keep these videos coming, very entertaining!

I seen this after watching #divetalk with gus and woody talking to Ed about a 2 body recovery in Dubai im sure. I’ve also seen one with Mike with @divetalk. I’ve noticed Ed and Mike sound and look like their taken deep breaths from their breathing regulator when they speak. Ha! Is it only me who’s noticed that when watching videos of them ? 😂 crazy how they take deep breaths like that.

Just when you've about given up on humanity with all the evil you see in the world today, you come across a Blue World video of Edd Sorensen and his rescues, then your faith in humanity is restored and you realize God is still working through good men. I admire Edd and his abilities and good deeds. He exemplifies what a true role model should be. Thank God for Edd Sorenson!
