I could listen to Edd tell stories for hours. He is truly the GOAT of the diving community.
Same here
i could listen for days n days...my instructor have the same chill calm voice including experience so will listen for ages..
You wrote my comment before me 😆
Me too , I’ve watched a lot of Edd interviews and when this one came up I thought I’d just watch a few minutes to see what it’s like , before I knew it I’d watched it all
He’s always been like Superman😊 I hope he protects his own life first. Saving folks or recovery of others is awesome but your life matters more Edd❤
The mental fortitude of Edd is seriously impressive, I panic when seaweed touched my foot.
🤣
😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂
Right! I wish I was as sane as Edd. Some ppl just do so well under pressure and never have panic or anxiety moments. I'm a big mess with everything! MRIs, cat scans, small spaces, bugs, animals, d3ath ect... everything effects my brain and its no fun. I wish I was normal
Lmao
Did anyone else notice he breathes like he's using a tank? Must just be habit now, but I love it. Show's a true hero of his craft.
This guy is the closest thing to a real life super hero I can imagine.
I'm a volunteer firefighter. I know what zero vis means. I know what it means navigating an unknown environment without seeing anything. It's putting a lot of stress on us. But zero visibility while under water in a maze of caves? That's absolutely unimaginable for me to do what he is doing. An absolute singular kind of person!
Way to make it about you
@@petergianakopoulos4926nothing wrong with being able to identify with someone
@@india1422 you win
I grew up in Florida and I remember hearing about an underwater cave death every year just about. I never understood why people would do that sport and to this day I would never enter an underwater cave. Granted I’m not a diver at all but I would love to learn. But I’d still never enter a cave.
@@petergianakopoulos4926 Miserable much?
There is no better story teller then Edd Sorenson. Ive never spent a minute in a cave yet i absolutely love his stories. Man is a legend.
Absolutely could listen to edds stories all day to not because hes a good story teller though because of the stories hes a bad story teller an amazing man with amazing stories
Same! I'll never cave dive or any kind of diving, but I love hearing him talk about it.
“I think I’m at a blood layer”.
Hardcore.
When Edd mentioned "the 2 guys", I went 😂😂😂 immediately because I remember that story.
Also huge respect for (a) Edd's effort to keep the victim's body intact and (b) the "I'll take a hero welcome when I bring out someone alive. This is just a job." comment.
Its an honor to listen to Edd, I tell you that. The man is a legend.
Edd is like the guy you know who tells the most absurd and unbelievable big fish stories… except they’re real.
No bs
I am so claustrophobic that I can barely breathe just listening to this story. It is fascinating but terrifying!
A rare breed and a kind man. Thank you for another heart pounding story session
This is what Americans call humble? Praising yourself non stop?
He's no doubt a good diver, but he's also full of himself. But I guess it's a thing over there. Very strange.
@@flinfaraday1821what’s strange is why the rest of the world concerns themselves with how American’s are and behave. Mind your own
He’s def not humble. That’s why he is so good at what he does.
He is amazing but humble he is not
@@LittlebitTX he’s my kind of humble I guess 😄
I'm a cave diver that lives in the D.R. and am 2 hours from cueva Dudú. Thanks to Edd we can enjoy diving in that cave because of that difficult recovery. Denis was my instructor. Too bad you couldn't enjoy the caves here. Maybe one day you could return here and do some cave diving. Thanks again for your hard work.
Me, Todd and Edd will come dive with you!!
@@BlueWorldplus Better film it all! :)
Still remember the iconic phrase Edd has said in other video “body parts soup” 😂
Oh I forgot until you mentioned it... ewwww lol
Dude, I teared up about Mike Young finding the ring and the son getting it back, that's awesome
I absolutely respect Ed's critical thinking skills and ingenuity. That combined with such compassion is so rare in a person. It's nice to see.
He needs to record an audiobook. Id listen to this over and over and over again!
This man has more bravery and courage in the tip of his little finger than in my entire body. I couldn't go where this mans gone even if I was a cave diver. This guy and Mike Young are on a whole different level. Ed's friends have told stories of diving with him and even they are amazed by his expertise and willingness to go where no one else will. I truly look at Ed Sorenson as a super hero and a super human with a heart the size of Everest.
I dove Wacissa on Day 2 to remove the Victim's remaining gear (fins) & pull the reel. That was a rough one for my friends who did their best. I got Edd's narrative in person around the fire pit one night many weeks later. That recovery was one of the most brutal and tight ones until this.
I also dove for Ben McDaniels on night one, and supported Edd's dive for Larry Lee Higginbotham by rushing my Sidemount 95's full of Trimix to the site & dropping them with Stacy.
I'm honored to have been taught Full Cave by Edd, and to have helped on a few cave recovery dives. Even more amazed by his Live Cave Rescues.
When humans like Edd exist in our lifetime, there's no need for Superhero fantasy films.
People might think he is cocky. But you gotta realize what he does takes massive cojones. He is the best at this. You almost have to be and you really can't think negatively in his profession.
He recognizes how blessed he is to be able to do what he does. I believe there’s a difference in cocky and confident experience. He’s humble enough to know his life is on the line each time but recognizes sometimes that divine intervention is the only way he succeeded in his mission.
Just the fact he has to pay for his flight tickets is wtf
Shiit I’d be too, he should tell it as it is as he should.I love the fact that he doesn’t exaggerate the environment like it was some I Indiana Jones cave, he tell like it it is but heeds the dangers of the environment. He’s speak like his not super man, but he know wtf he is doing, let me do my job kind of guy.
Well when you are literally the only person in the world capable of something it's ok to be cocky
Would you rather be rescued by some "cocky" who knows he is good and knows he can do it or a guy that says i can probably do if but im not real sure
Edd is an amazing human, rescuer and story teller ❤
When he says it’s very difficult, picture yourself something almost impossible.
Edd, your humility is matched only by your mastery of rhis craft. You truly are the best in the world, and more people don't know it because you are so humble. God bless you brother, safe diving.
I’m not a diver, but I’ve been obsessed with cave diving stories on TH-cam over the past 3-4 years. I’ve watched hundreds of videos over the years and this guy’s name keeps coming up over and over again. This is the first time I’ve ever heard the man himself tell a dive story - and it was awesome. No doubt, Edd Sorensen is an absolute legend.
We have several of his stories here, you should watch them all!!
I really respect how you allowed the man to pay you for the airline tickets but not a cent more.. most people now a days are greedy and it's just nice to hear. also allowing him to pay for something probably made him feel better.. being so thankful after so many failed attempts.. that story sounded terrifying and it's volunteer work?!? man that's crazy
It is an honor to hear him speak.. I'm beyond fascinated by this man and his super abilities. He needs to do storytime for us all. We're Ed, Mike & Jonathan's fan club😉🥰
“I called Mike Young” 😀😀😀
A LEGEND!!! Thanx for documenting the stories, but more thanx to Ed and Mike and all of the heroes out there putting all on the line!! Endless respect!!
Never been diving, hate the water, don't even take long showers. But I watched this entire video and I'm going to watch a few more. I love hearing to Ed speak. The part about the wedding ring gave me full body chills. He's so genuine.
This guy is truly a beast. I work with a guy that has contraptions just like him. He tells his stories similar as well. The part where he's says what's this for and what's that for. I'm the guy asking. The guy always has something for a situation. He doesn't sound cocky to me. He sounds like a guy that gets after it and doesn't stop until the job is complete. That's fearless. That's what it is. ED is just built different.
Edds mental ability to block out things so many would find terrifying amazes me. I truly think it is his greatest asset in this profession. Can you imagine being trapped underwater, in a tiny space surrounded by rock, with a deceased diver literally in your face. I can block out alot but this is definitely higher level focus/mind control. 👏 Great job Mr. Sorenson.
Thank the Lord you are recovering well from the cancer edd. This world needs you!. I love you're channel. I'm not a diver but love the content. I could watch all day.
Imagine to be stuck in a cave.. Breathing your last breaths and Edd shows up… He is a hero
In my eyes Edd Sorenson is a true life super hero , MAY GOD BLESS HIM !!
This guy is amazing and I love how he is so trained he is on a above ground re-breather. Great real storyteller. PS he slipped and swore and said “we’ll have to edit that” true class
Never dove in my life but always watch Ed's stories. thank u blue world plus.
i love edd, he is an actual hero, has more living recoveries and body recoveries than anyone
If I ever met Ed, I think I would have an out of body experience. I think he is such a beautiful human being. Humble.❤
Love how Edd recounts the events of his recoveries. Incredible man. May god protect him always 🙏🏻🥰
I'd listen to every story this man has to tell. He paints clear pictures with his stories and they're amazing.
I have never dived before and have no real interest in doing so (not brave enough and I’m not a fan of small spaces ) but I could listen to Ed tell stories for hours! What an amazing man. Bless you Ed.
Incredible man. Would love to hear all of Edd’s stories. Thank you Jonathon!
Edd, the way you describe your methods and especially creating things out of necessity remind me of my father. He was a mine rescue specialist. He innovated a lot of tools and methods to find problems with the Breathing Apparatus rebreather and fix them under pressure as fast as possible. He won so many safety contest trophies he was legendary among his peers, but i was too young to understand at the time before he passed. Your demeanor and style bring back a lot of memories.
Ed you are a volunteer and you devote your time costings and energy at high risk overcoming obstacles and correcting situations with you inventive gear WOW I am close to tears so moved by fact that there IS SOMEONE LIKE YOU IN THIS WORLD OF OURS.
Huge thank you - Patricia.
Thanks for everything you do, Edd. A true cave diving legend. Such an amazing guy.
You know how the Bible tells us to be careful how you treat people bc there are Angels among us and you never know if you’re entertaining one?…..Edd is one of those angels that walk among us❤
Always love to hear stories from Edd! It would be great to hear more of them from him in the future!
Incredible man doing what he does
I love to hear Eds stories! He’s a very interesting guy. A real modern day hero. Mike is also a real impressive guy to listen to when he shares his adventures .
I love listening to these while I work! Cant wait to hear Edd’s next story
this man is something else! genuinely amazing!!
I can’t imagine you can stay calm with zero visability while cave diving and recovering a body. What a gift ❤
Would love to see a training video with visability.
Absolutely extraordinary man, who could deal with these types of situations and keep cool and collective. Great you filmed this for us all, thanks.
What a legend, all these cave diving rescue and recovery stories and I finally come across the man himself. Salute to you sir for the risks you take as a volunteer superhero!
I could listen to Edd tell stories all day long. I was introduced to Edd through Dive Talk (Guss and Woody) and knew absolutely nothing about diving or cave diving before watching their channel. I have never had any interest in going cave diving, ever! It's just not for me but do find it fascinating and love learning all the rules and regulations etc... I have absolutely no idea why I like it so much, but I do. The thought of being underwater away from the surface terrifies me beyond belief but love watching others do it.
I've heard this story from Edd before but just had to listen again.
I'm speechless. This guy has some set of balls.
We are hearing the words of a very high quality human. Humble, strong, tenacious, and kind.
There is wisdom in these shared experiences anyone can draw on.
Decomposition gases would seriously alter any computation as far as determining weight needed.
Outstanding effort recovering these guys.
I have to meet this man to shake his hand. He's so inspirational. I've had tears in my eyes listening to him tell stories, and I just learned of him today. He's an absolute legend, and hero how he handles it when he finds living people.
I’d love to meet ed and you and woody and Gus and Mike all people I look up to!
When things go bad call Edd. I have never met him I'm not a diver but I give him so mutch respect same with Mike young there both amazing people
"Don't get dead! Better call Edd!"
On cave diving world should be mandatory a sign to leave before every dive: "if I don't come back at this determined time, please call Edd!"
Living legend, thank you for documenting his histories, you guys are saving people lives even before they get wet 😊👍
I don’t fool with water like that 😂but when I was in the army at night in the desert it’s 0 visibility. It’s terrifying I definitely wouldnt go in water where I can see. This gentleman is a hero.
I just love this dude… such a badass so humble… great story teller
First time coming across this guy and all i can say is mad respect. He has a big heart and he isca blessing those families ❤
You’re a man’s man! What Americans are made of. Takes a special person not to panick in confined, dark and murky waters. Glad you’re safe.
Have you heard about the Police in Uvalde they are also American
Lol Americans aren't like this at all.
There are decent, brave people like Edd everywhere in the world. Look at the international team who rescued the Thai boys. The world is of heroes of all types. Unfortunately it is also full of villains and people who don't give a damn about their fellows. Happily they remain in the minority.
@@sarahann530they are disowned and were mostly Mexican ethnic wise.
I've heard Edd tell the story before, a pleasure to hear it again. Thankyou!!
Did it get better?? LOL
@@BlueWorldplus No Sir. Just as perfect. Please keep them coming. 🙏
He has incredible problem-solving skills and is really good at simplifying things.
Thanks for helping others, Edd. God bless you, sir.
There has never been, and there will never be another human being to walk this planet who can ever compare to this angel of a man. Edd Sorenson is one of a kind, and he is the GOAT!
Sweet Puppy! Extraordinary recovery for the families.
I could listen to his stories all day. And thank God there is somebody like him around.
Thank you, Ed. May God always be present in your life and His blessings follow you wherever you are needed. From DR with massive respect.
Edd is a National Treasure
I love Edd interviews! I love Blue World! The two together is the best! Please more!
We have more!! 😃
Ed is more than a legend, @Ed thank u for using your hard earned skills for the benefit of the families of the victims!
Damn Edd if you’d shown that harness to the NFPA, you’d be a multi millionaire. We have a harness like that built into our turnout coat, called a Drag Rescue Device and it’s mandatory for every firefighter
Not only a one of a kind diver but a great story teller. And what a stories he's got to tell!
Glad there is someone doing this type of recovery. I retired from the fire department / PADI DIVEMASTER with 145 divers 90% + in the Copper River (strong current and zero visibility). I miss it every day.
Not only Edd is a legend, he’s also an amazing story teller ❤😊
He really does tell a good story.
The GOAT..He's awesome.
I don’t know if these stories make me more or less likely to dive but Edd and Mike are my Michael and Kobe.
Thank you again for those! This guy is an absolute legend!
Not only a fantastic diver, amazing Story teller!
I heard Edd’s story on Dive Talk. He is the gnarliest man on the planet, change my mind.
BRAVO EDD
When Edd left for college, he told his dad, You’re the man of the house now!
From everything I've seen and heard Edd is the Jedi master of cave diving rescues. I would flip out. But he is very calm
Some set of Cahoonas! This man needs recognition for his bravery!
His videos and interviews have taught me a lot about diving very intelligent person.
6:49 is why i listen to this dudes stories... jeez what a perspective
A truly remarkable man. One of the highest complements any person (at least us ex military) can give another is "I'd follow that person into combat" or in this case, follow him into a zero visibility cave. What a remarkable story. And OMG, those last five minutes are so meaningful and powerful, every aspiring diver and a lot of other lives at risk activities ought to take that lesson to heart. Don't let your survivors at your memorial be saying "if it weren't for his arrogance (thinking he knew everything already), perhaps he'd still be here". And these "adventurers" seem to have a blind spot about putting rescue or recovery teams at risk as well.
Edd is a living Angel just Love him he does so much good for people 🙏❤
Riveting story telling as ever, Edd. 12:25 Blimey, didn't think of this aspect: reacquiring the line when both hands have been maneuvering a dead body. Brilliant plan with the legs & the line. 33:03 'It's like playing Jenga with the weights' - Trying not to laugh cos here. 36:00 Divine intervention indeed! How touching. Hope this proved to them that you are indeed f**king good. Kudos to Mike Young too.
“Wwhhaaat did I do-well….what do they know I did??” 😂😂
We want more of Ed and his stories. 😍 Always a great time listening to him. Legend! ❤
certified gangster
Another sad, but great story of one of your recoveries Edd…. Thx for sharing these stories with us…. We appreciate what you, and your friends do for families who have suffered the ultimate tragedy!!
Let’s hope and pray that Edd teaches someone his secrets before he is too old to rescue/recover.
Even if this video was 4 hours long, I still would've watched until the end. Excellent.
