This type of rescue is the equivalent of a fire fighter entering a fully engulfed structure to rescue someone. Edd took a significant risk with his own life to rescue that man. Remarkable man within a remarkable community.
I’d say this was even more significant than a firefighter entering an engulfed structure. Most people wouldn’t have attempted this rescue, they would have waited for him to expire and then brought out the corpse. The odds are so high that this person is going to panic and kill you both id almost call it suicide to attempt this rescue that Ed did. He’s a true hero in every sense of the word. He had zero regard for his own life.
Except firefighters get paid a $200,000 salary and retire with 90% of that salary for the rest of their lives. Top that off with the fact only 5% of firefighters ever see a real large structure or rescue someone from a fire.
Even though I appreciate what Edd has done, but firefighting and diving are ABSOLUTELY not equivalent...a firefighter faces an unknown building layout and conditions, highly probable deadly explosions due to backdrafts, explosions from fuels or chemicals, collapsing structure which can kill them or get them stuck, and above all, extreme and constant heat...all of that does not equal to the main issue here which is low visibility and getting lost.

Yes, OMGness, yes, these should be a Netflix series. Just got into DiveTalk l think maybe two weeks (getting me through while I've been stuck at home sick), and Ed stories are among my favorite episodes.
I think the guy who was rescued deserves some major credit too. Very very few people have the mental strength to survive in a tiny airpocket like that for so long with panicking. The guy had superhuman mental strength
i think part of it is being hypoxic. he said the guy was out of it most of the time. i believe the diver was only diving on instinct and what he remember from training.
This man makes astronauts look like cub scouts. Space is easy, it's empty... What this man does, and those who assist him, is truly heroic. Everyone in America should know these stories.
Man two minutes into this story im on my couch feeling anxious and claustrophobic, why would anyone ever do this. Props for goin in after em what a beast.
For sure. I’m so claustrophobic it’s uncanny. I worked with a spray foam crew on house for a couple months and they sent me into a crawl space above a cathedral ceiling that was so tight it was army crawl only. Couldn’t even sit up to take a break. Full suit and mask and this space stretched 50 ft. I lost it like you’d write this long of a comment about and how profoundly it effected me can’t be described
I just want to know how Ed manages to maneuver his planet sized balls through those pie-tin sized openings. I can't comprehend the amount of inner zen, mental clarity, testicular fortitude, and shear strength of will he possesses to be able to perform rationally under such duress... to save the life of a complete stranger. This man is an unsung hero. I just literally can't imagine willingly putting yourself into those scenarios. You are a god amongst men, Ed. Thank you for your service to your fellow man, and thank you for sharing your stories.
That man is breathing because of you Edd. Not just your skill and experience, but even brining an extra tank in the slim hope of a rescue, and finding him in that spot… just incredible!
Incredible. I've been in charge of two body recoveries here in Jamaica, both dead for a while, and neither underwater. A video of one has been getting a lot of traffic lately, with a lot of comments about how brave/whatever we were. I feel guilty about it after watching this. What I did was absolutely nothing, nothing, compared to this guy. Much respect. RS Stewart - Jamaican Caves Organisation.
Just because this was an incredible story doesn’t make your incredible work any less important! Nobody can work under this level of pressure, work with dead bodies, etc. except for superhero’s like y’all.

This was the second visit for this body - the first was 15 months before, but it had been in there over 10 days, was very bloated and lodged in a tight spot, and we couldn't get it out without it exploding all over us (we have footage of it, but I don' think TH-cam would allow it - too graphic). Check my reply to the pinned comment - gives some info.
Much respect to you for even being brave enough to attempt this. There are few humans in the world who have the nerve to attempt these difficult rescues.
Just wow. A perfect example of a true role model. To literally put your life at risk for the small possibility of bringing these people out alive and than to defy all odds and save 6 people. Edd Sorenson, you are a real life SUPERHERO. What you sacrifice & risk for total strangers (without asking for anything in return) is simply amazing. Thank you for sharing these incredible stories. I've only just been open water certified, but my ultimate SCUBA goal is to take a course with you. God bless you Sir...
I'm not a diver, after nearly drowning on a school swimming lesson aged 11 I'm terrified of water, but I love watching diving videos and I'm fascinated by them. I'm so glad there are people like Ed in the world. ❤️
I almost drowned 3 times as a child. Despite multiple lessons from the ARC and the Marines I just wasn't confident in deep water. So I got a book on how to swim and went to the pool and taught myself. Eventually worked my way up to rescue diver certification. People drown when they panic. Even seasoned swimmers and divers. You must learn to get past your fear on your own terms and how to maintain control of your emotions. Knowing what to do and how things happen helps with that. Good luck to you!
I'm a 57 year old, fairly large, cynical man; it takes a lot to impress me. This guy is the real deal. It's good to know there are people like this out there when it counts. Thanks for all you do, Edd Sorenson.
Me, too. It reminds me of family gatherings of old where, after a filling holiday meal, everyone found a comfy spot to listen as aunts, uncles, grandparents and cousins went into story-telling mode, and the children either fell into restful post-turkey sleep or quietly listened with wide-eyed wonder to family tales.
A lot of rescue/recovery divers wouldn’t have taken the risk of trying this save. It’s almost certain he’s going to panic and kill you both. This is a true hero here in every sense of the word.
Seriously my dive plans will just have “Emergency Contact: Edd Sorensen “ and the Cave Adventurers number. I’d love to get to his level and help like he does someday
Right ? I've actually given my husband his number. He doesn't dive or even swim and worries sick but I've told him if there's ever an issue in the panhandle call and ask for this guy at Cave Adventures, but we live near Live Oak so I also have Tom Morris's contact info as well who is an excellent cave diver and frickin legend as well!
Woody said there's no fanfair or no press for these miracles this guy is performing. There may be no press, but I disagree about the fanfair. I think there are tons of people that are fans of Edd and the other rescuers. I'm not a cave diver. It's just not for me. I'm open water all the way. But words can't even express the respect I have for these guys, especially Edd. This guy is a legend. Anybody that does 1 is a legend. These are not trophies. They are people's lives. Everyone of them is precious. If anyone thinks Edd is just lucky, seems like they're missing the point. I don't care why anyone does it. If others are doing it for their own ego, I'm fine with that. The result matters more. I'm just thankful there are people like Edd out there to answer the call.
Ed is truly a hero. A movie should be made about him. Seriously. I was on the edge of my seat listening to his story and my anxiety was through the roof! I can understand why Woody and Gus go in about him now. Lol What a super guy! He could die doing these rescues. He didn’t even have a clue how much air he had! He also mentioned how panicked divers will flail around grabbing at others and that can kill a person too. I’ve heard of drowning victims bringing others down with them. I pray Ed is safe for all the years to come and that he’s able to help lots more people. I’m totally impressed by him! Wow! Edit: He’s 62 and doing this stuff? Just incredible.
Of all the heroes in our world, policemen, firefighters, animal shelters and whatnot, this dude right here has to be the most badass and most OP of them all. I mean, the sheer mental strength, training and compassion this man must have to not only keep he's composure at impossible times, but actually finish the job and do it over and over again even though every time is a close call...I really don't know what to say.
Thank God there are people like this guy willing to risk their lives to help others. I am a firefighter paramedic who has done confined space rescue and fire rescues but no way would I be able to do what he does. I have had cave rescue training but never had to use it. Now that I am older I have developed some claustrophobia issues so even that is out now. Drowning is one of my biggest fears as well.
Can only imagine how many amazing stories Edd and all these other highly experienced exceptional divers have. Really enjoy you bringing in guests to provide their perspectives in addition to both of you. Edd thank you for sharing these stories both good and bad.
I can only pray that there is someone out there who can be trained by Edd and have the instinct he does so that many others can be saved when Edd retires. His gift is so needed. Thank you, sir, for being the man you are. You are truly a godsend.
I bet Edd is the kind of guy who won't retire until he physically cannot dive anymore. He just seems to be the kind of person to dedicate their whole lives for such a great cause.
I know nothing whatsoever about diving, but felt like I was actually there in the cave for every moment of this rescue. It's edge of one's seat fascinating and told by a great storyteller! I came upon this video by pure chance ; not even reccomended, and boy am I glad I did! Thank you!!

I think one of the best things you guys have about the dive community is how accessible all these people are that are considered legends and heroes. What great people and what a community you have. I wish this was similar everywhere else but as we know it just isn't.
Edd... I am watching this and am absolutely in awe at your humility, and your tenacity. Thank you for sharing your story, and quite frankly, for existing. You are an example that the human race should learn from. I don't say this lightly.

Ed told my wife and I this story once while we were there at Cave Adventures. Since then she's admitted she feels a lot better about my cave diving knowing Ed is there. The man is a legend.
This guy saves lives in impossible situations and gets a couple thousand views while some numbnuts makes a video about a cat chasing a laser and it goes viral with millions of views. People are so fickle. Well done, Edd. You're a hero to more people than you'll ever know.
ah yes, a 30 minute long video on a niche topic in english with only auto-generated subtitles should totally have more views than animal videos, which don't need translating or any background knowledge to watch and understand. sure.

This was a beautiful and stressful to hear rescue. What you guys do to me is just heroism, because you don’t have to recover but you do so truly. Thank you for what you do.
Man I don’t know anything about diving , but I was so nervous just listening to this. How scary to be in that situation by yourself. And what a sense of relief to finally have someone like Dave to give you a second chance at life.
I don't know that Ed _can_ really teach someone to be what he is. He can pass along as much knowledge as possible and things like your channel raising awareness are huge, but I think it really has to just be that someone or hopefully several someones just step up and find that they have the instinct and the will necessary. I mean, how do you teach anyone to be another Ed, or Mike? Someone either has it or they don't. Making sure that training standards are constantly improved and that awareness is pushed as widely as possible os probably the best that can be done. Honestly, this may be one of those situations where most people that want to try and learn to do what Ed does probably don't have the right mindset to really be great. The best ones will probably be those that just train to be the best they can be and when they find themselves in a situation that nobody should want to be in, they discover that they are up to the task. Does that make sense?
I think person like Anthony Robbins should be involved to get his intuitive workstyle translated to clear information. Ad some great teatchers and writers to the Team, and you will have a better result than not doing that.
100%. True heroes don't *want* to be heroes; they don't want to be needed at all. They're the people that step up when no one else can and you have to have that kind of integrity to really be great.
Hats off to all the guys that do this work. Drowning has always been my biggest fear, which is weird considering how much I love swimming. But, I absolutely couldn’t do this. And, you can just tell he basically lives for diving and rescue. He even does “dive breathing” (my term for how it sounds when I watch these underwater videos) because he’s doing those deep even breaths all through this. I just wish I’d had the guts when I was younger to try it
Thanks for the visual pop-up edits! That "Zero Viz" was so disorienting it was like I was really there. Unreal. Loved having the Edd / Woody combo; Sorenson Storytime is always a good time! A truly humbling level of skill to achieve what he does in these conditions. Edd is the literal definition of a legend. On this occasion it's a shame the divers didn't all call the dive when it first went awry. Sounds like Edd's student at least had the right instinct!

I love hearing guys talk who are at the top of their game. They're always so non-chalant about what they do. Normal, everyday stuff for them is straight mind blowing to others. It's an interesting dynamic.
Edd Sorenson would be the last person I'd ever wanted called to rescue me! Granted he is the absolute best person on earth to attempt rescue if you are lost in an underwater cave, but if "HE" has to be called you have found yourself in A VERY BAD SITUATION... Edited to Add: I am not cave trained, and would never even entertain the thought of entering a underwater cave without proper training & equipment.
Your can seriously listen to this man's stories all day long, I love the way he tells his stories, the way he paints a picture of everything going on plus how much he remembers about each and every one of these dives and these recovery missions and everything that he's done. The instinct discussion reminded me of a line from a book I was listening to today. Thinking Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman, it's an excellent book so far. Edd's intuition is so strong because of the vast amount of information he processes subconsciously and incorporates into his decision making process. It's astounding. "A concise definition of skilled intuition: The situation has provided a cue, which has given the expert access to information stored in memory, and the information provides the answer"
Man made cave built with Edd’s version of scenarios or worst cases specifically for cave rescue training instructed by Edd could possibly be a good training ground imo. My upmost respect for this man’s work.
That is such an amazing idea. Have a safe set up for training people how to deal with such extreme situations, would probably help save so many lives!!
He should definitely focus on setting up a training course. His knowledge needs to be handed down, he is the man for it. Have someone help him design it or something.
Another great rescue by Edd, you may not hear it enough Edd but you are a real hero. Not like a fake marvel super hero but waaaaay better and cooler!!! Big thanks to you for everything you do to bring divers back to their loved ones.
I cant express how much I love Edds demeanor. Just the experience in his voice creates this ambience of understanding and comfort. As he is telling these stories my anxiety goes through the roof but knowing he is there comforts me, even when I wasnt actually there. Its phenomenal honestly, he should do an audiobook of all his rescues and recoveries.
I'm extremely claustrophobic (I don't know why I watch these) and these videos send my entire body into full blown panic mode every time. Its like I'm in that cave with them and it is pure terror.
Me too. and you are probably better off to NOT watch/read or listen to anything regarding the nutty putty cave tragedy. the details are haunting. Respect and RIP to John Edward Jones ❤
I am not a diver, and I don’t think I ever will be. However, there’s something cathartic about listening to someone who is at the absolute top of their craft. I could listen to him talk about his rescues and recoveries for endless hours.
Woody, thanks for sharing another great story from Edd. Definitely a true hero and pioneer. I took note of his comment regarding he doesn't know how to teach "instinct". While I agree that to him it is instinct, I think it actually boils down to his ability to think critically in stressful situations and do real time problem solving. This is why it is difficult to develop training for these types of rescues, as you can't simply follow a check list. I would offer that the training for cave rescues should focus on developing the student's abilities to think critically in different scenarios, rather than trying to teach them how to solve specific problems. That would likely be the most successful way to train the next generation of cave rescue divers. Perhaps generating a bunch of different scenarios you could choose at random to exercise with the students to see how they approach solving those problems. Really enjoy the show in general, keep up the great work.
It’s a sad fact that no one from our generation will be this badass. This dudes straight up hard as nails. Hero isn’t a strong enough word, what a privilege to hear him tell the story. Great job Woody!
The anxiety I feel just listening to the telling of this incident is pretty much unbearable, it's literally to the point that I can't finish listening to the conclusion of the story! I don't know how this man does this repeatedly but he's definitely the closest thing most of us will ever see to a angel in the flesh! The courage, bravery, and strength (both physically and mentally) are hard to imagine someone possessing, and all of that coupled together with a unimaginably high level of skill /experience is beyond impressive! I hope Mr. Ed has a long life and when his time comes he's warm in his bed sleeping, very old , and peaceful and not in a dark silted out cave! I'm blown away by his retelling of the many recovery / rescue of lost divers!
Gosh dang man.. I'm not a cave diver or any kind of a diver for that matter.. I've never had an interest in diving and for whatever reason this story came up in my feed so I clicked. This lol. The loophole is real lol. This guy is a freaking BAMF
@Cody James What is a BA......Oh never mind just got it
Yes, OMGness, yes, these should be a Netflix series.
That's so true and that's inspiring bc I know that couldn't have been easy
i think part of it is being hypoxic. he said the guy was out of it most of the time. i believe the diver was only diving on instinct and what he remember from training.
being rescued doesnt get you major credit lmao
This man makes astronauts look like cub scouts. Space is easy, it's empty... What this man does, and those who assist him, is truly heroic. Everyone in America should know these stories.
Man two minutes into this story im on my couch feeling anxious and claustrophobic, why would anyone ever do this. Props for goin in after em what a beast.
The scene in aTitanic where KW is trying to save LD when he is hand cuffed to the pipe in the ships lock up.🥺🥺🥺
Same
If you can’t even care shit about spelling the actors names, don’t even make a comment.
Fucking disrespectful!
@Hugh Mass-stiff Why? they're living their best life, it is like any other sport the more extreme the better. I am sure they love what they are doing.
So nice to have a good listener and not some arrogant journalist interrupting every few seconds.
Agreed! Edd is also such a gifted story teller, he fills in all the vital detail and really explains it in a way that one could visualize it happened.
You can see the respect he has for Ed. Never cuts him off and is fully engaged while listening
Not to mention what the iron testicles must weigh. I literally love this guy. Damn hes a badass HEROIC sonofagun!
To be fair his actual balls are prolly tiny bc unc is def on some gear. No judgement. I can’t wait to be 62 and jacked and juiced
Do u have a link for the video of ur rescue that u could send. I love watching rescue videos. Whether they’re underwater or not.
@@ucanthandletruth4456 If it's cool with this channerl: th-cam.com/video/qtrN5M8EZxA/w-d-xo.html
Not a rescue, the second body recovery we had to do, in 2015 (first body was in 2004 - didn't have a vidcam for that)).
You did more than most, there could have been a chance. If there’s a chance we need people like you🙏🏻
Much respect to you for even being brave enough to attempt this. There are few humans in the world who have the nerve to attempt these difficult rescues.
Just wow. A perfect example of a true role model. To literally put your life at risk for the small possibility of bringing these people out alive and than to defy all odds and save 6 people. Anybody else's ego would be so big it would have it's own area code but not Ed. No sir a true humble legend who instead of crediting his damn near super human skills and abilities he gives all credit to divine intervention. God bless you Edd 🙏
And he does it out of his own pocket
He doesn't put his life at risk for the small possibility of bringing them out alive he puts his life at risk to bring out the body dead or alive.
The Goat 😎🤙🏽🙏

@@adambartlett114 Show me on the doll where God touched you. 🧸 You obviously are very angry at God. I find that's true of most anti-theists. It's not so much that they know there isn't a God, they just hate him.
I'm not a diver, and would never want to be in an underwater cave, but I know who you are, Edd, and I know you change lives as well as save them. Thank you for your heart and your strength, and for using them to help others.
Nicely said mate
Incredible story. Your a hero Edd. Your experience saved this guy.
Wow what a crazy story! Can you imagine being alone and in such a tiny air pocket?!? There's no way he thought anyone was coming to help. God bless the bravery of this man!
I know, what a nightmare!
You got it right God blessed this man.
This dude is just the definition of badass and courageous. He definitely deserves all the respect in the world and I hope he gets that recognition
I don't think superman could of achieved what this man has done
I k I. I Iu mm
He really is
I'm not a diver, after nearly drowning on a school swimming lesson aged 11 I'm terrified of water, but I love watching diving videos and I'm fascinated by them. I'm so glad there are people like Ed in the world. ❤️
Never too late to confront your fears :)))
Me too! I’m terrified of the water and I live on a Lake! I have zero intention of overcoming it. I ride horses….dangerous enough..
I'm a 57 year old, fairly large, cynical man; it takes a lot to impress me. This guy is the real deal. It's good to know there are people like this out there when it counts. Thanks for all you do, Edd Sorenson.
It's crazy he does this all on his own dime. What a legend
I know right!?
I really loved this format, just a straight talk, face to face.
Would love to hear more stories from this man, he has a very calming demeanour.
Edd should write a book. I would be the first to buy it. 62 years old and he looks like a body builder.
@Dee-nonamnamrson8718 Whats a book??
@@Diablo_CSTit's a thing used to hold doors open.
A lot of rescue/recovery divers wouldn’t have taken the risk of trying this save. It’s almost certain he’s going to panic and kill you both. This is a true hero here in every sense of the word.
What a man Edd is. Truly a hero & asks for virtually nothing in return. Does it because he can & it's the right thing to do. Amazing.
Truly a handy number to have what a legend
I'm in Oregon and dive in Oregon and Washington. I'm sure Edd would be notified. Lol! I hope to never be in a situation to get him called though. 😬
@@pandabear870 me too for your sake I'm in England d so screwed pretty much unless the sas come there pretty damn good.
Keep that attitude and you will 😉
Ed needs to record all his stories... Feels like your right there ....
@@TheNewRevolution fanfare (not «fanfair») doesn’t relate to «fans».
Balls of steel.
Of all the heroes in our world, policemen, firefighters, animal shelters and whatnot, this dude right here has to be the most badass and most OP of them all. I mean, the sheer mental strength, training and compassion this man must have to not only keep he's composure at impossible times, but actually finish the job and do it over and over again even though every time is a close call...I really don't know what to say.
i can’t even remember the last time i went swimming but i seriously can’t get enough of y’all’s content, these stories are crazy to listen to!
Edd tells a good story, highlights the best parts without going overboard.
I'm out of words. No praise would be enough to do justice to what this man is. I only can think that super heroes do exist because of this man...
I’m a cop and an EMT, you guys make me want to be a rescue diver 💪🏼 🏴☠️
Thank God there are people like this guy willing to risk their lives to help others. I am a firefighter paramedic who has done confined space rescue and fire rescues but no way would I be able to do what he does. I have had cave rescue training but never had to use it. Now that I am older I have developed some claustrophobia issues so even that is out now. Drowning is one of my biggest fears as well.
Wow, this guy is indeed the G.O.A.T. Takes level-headed to a new level
We need more of these story times from Edd! This man is a living legend!
Thank you!!
I love the way woody just nods and sometimes mirrors but is doing everything he can to hold back. That is adorable.
It’s good restraint and interviewing skills. Your comment is adorable
As soon as the conversation started I thought to myself "He nods like I do whenever I'm having a conversation" 😅 I'm pretty much a listener and nodding is my way to let them know they have my full attention!
Lol
You all are adorable with those replies! Just nod and agree, works in every field!

I am in AWE of Edd Sorenson.... I hope I can be half the man he is one day... Amazing. Also, it would be amazing to hear the stroy from the perspective of survivor because of Edd. Would be a gripping story to hear from both sides. Thank you dive talk for sharing ANYTHING Edd.
People like you are amazing. My dad was a Firefighter. So he had this type of personality others before himself. The world is a safer place with people like you. Thanks for what you do.
What incredible achievements to be able to look back in your life. Single handedly rescuing people on multiple occasions. Thank you Edd.
Indeed... Strange times
Holy shit, a cat chasing a laser, I'll have to check that out.
ah yes, a 30 minute long video on a niche topic in english with only auto-generated subtitles should totally have more views than animal videos, which don't need translating or any background knowledge to watch and understand. sure.
@@isthatrubble A person saving the life of another person from a dire situation should be far more amazing than a friggin cat doing cat things. Folks don't have a heart anymore.
@@Preview43 sure, but they haven't translated the interview, so if someone doesn't understand english there's no reason to watch this. there's probably great inspiring stories out there in a language you don't speak, and you haven't watched them either because you wouldn't be able to understand it, even if it deserves more views than a cat video
This was a beautiful and stressful to hear rescue. What you guys do to me is just heroism, because you don’t have to recover but you do so truly. Thank you for what you do.
Wow.. what a great story. This man deserves all the love he gets.
Ed is on a different level of perfecting his craft. Dude will be forever a legendary man of history. This dude is incredible.
Absolutely
I think person like Anthony Robbins should be involved to get his intuitive workstyle translated to clear information. Ad some great teatchers and writers to the Team, and you will have a better result than not doing that.
100%. True heroes don't *want* to be heroes; they don't want to be needed at all. They're the people that step up when no one else can and you have to have that kind of integrity to really be great.
What a fearless hero. This guy is a legend.
Like we're all sitting around listening in a bar or at a campfire.
The look on Woody's face throughout the story was epic. Missed Gus though :-) #goodyboys
A truly humbling level of skill to achieve what he does in these conditions. Edd is the literal definition of a legend. On this occasion it's a shame the divers didn't all call the dive when it first went awry. Sounds like Edd's student at least had the right instinct!
I love hearing Edd Sorenson tell stories; it is the best. I would pay to listen to him.
Just watched this unbelievable how this guy continually puts himself in unbelievably dangerous situations what a humble human being a truly remarkable man
Heroes come in all shapes , sizes, species, etc. Edd is definitely a hero and a hell of a human being!
All I can even begin to say is God bless this wonderful guy, and thank you Ed. You are my hero
I grew up in Altha, FL, right down the road from Marianna, went to Blue Springs many times and never knew of the legend of Edd. Thanks for sharing the stories, really enjoy them.
Absolutely incredible story. I was entirely speechless listening to to this hero recount what he went through. I can't even begin to comprehend what emotions these two experienced; this is truly an unfathomable experience unless you lived through it.
What an awesome person! Anyone who puts themselves out there like this is just on a plane a thousand times higher than the average person who thinks very little beyond themselves. Thank God there are people like Ed Sorenson who are willing to say, "I'm not going to leave you" and really and truly MEAN it. Thanks for sharing this with us, Woody! My faith in humanity just took a big jump upward...
I hope this man can put together a system to teach others to perform these life saving skills.
These men are true heroes ❤
He is done some pretty incredible stuff and he's just so humble about it which is so awesome to hear. Definitely a really awesome guy from what I can tell. I mean I'm not a diver and I'm just an avid watcher of the dive talk community because I find everything about what you guys do and what you guys talk about so intriguing but seriously, I love when you guys have him on the show and love you guys channel!

As an amateur diver, I love his stories.
His humbleness is his answers..... luck is out of mind for me ,Edd I know you gauge the entire journey in the cave by knowing in yourself.. that's my opinion, like your comment as well
@EddSorrenson Heros dont wear capes. They are among us. Doing it because you can and its the right thing to do gets no thanks most of the time. Its so important that the world has people like you. I want to thank you for doing what you do. You are appreciated. Im not a diver and never will be as it terrifies me but i recognize a hero when i see one. God Bless you and all you do my friend.
There is only one word to describe this man - LEGEND.
You can't teach instinct. Facts from a living legend. Great video!!!
They're GOD- given instincts!
I'm literally crying hearing he's alive, and was saved.
That’s one hell of a impressive situation/story!!! That guy was super lucky this man was there to save his life!!! 🙏🏼
I love hearing Ed's stories. He's such a good storyteller and he has a great radio type voice. Such a legend.
Please, more Ed Sorenson stories ! I could listen to this man all day long, he's the definition of badass ! .

I think you answered you own question. Why do i watch these
It gives me heart flutters and little panic too. I take a deep breath and tell myself to fight it

and you are probably better off to NOT watch/read or listen to anything regarding the nutty putty cave tragedy. the details are haunting.

I am not a diver, and I don’t think I ever will be. However, there’s something cathartic about listening to someone who is at the absolute top of their craft. I could listen to him talk about his rescues and recoveries for endless hours.
Thank you so much for letting Edd talk without useless interruptions!

My interest in diving is equally as great as my fear of it. The bends, getting stuck, getting lost, open water..... You’re a brave soul Ed ❤️
I hope the guy he rescued shows his family this video. He need to never forget how close he was to rolling 7s
Yes, I think so too, taking into account just how panic inducing this kind of activity is, being level headed is really really reaaaaally important.
Former medic and novice rec diver- this is the best story I’ve heard all year. Thanks for sharing it with us. ❤
This is the most insane thing I have watched this year. Edd you are a true hero.
Nerves of steel doesn't even describe this man.
It’s a sad fact that no one from our generation will be this badass. This dudes straight up hard as nails. Hero isn’t a strong enough word, what a privilege to hear him tell the story. Great job Woody!
Remember my name.
What an amazing story. Can't even fanthom the heart of this man. Thank you for using your skills so selflessly.
Gosh dang man.. I'm not a cave diver or any kind of a diver for that matter.. I've never had an interest in diving and for whatever reason this story came up in my feed so I clicked. I listened through this entire talk all the way through and the details of what went on made my blood pressure spike several times. While I may not be familiar with high risk diving situations I am familiar with other high risk situations particularly military service which I did for several years (63B). Listening to the high stress points of the story started giving me PTSD from experiences I have had that seemed hopeless. This guy deserves some form of recognition for what he's done. To keep you're cool in this sort of situation is remarkable to me. My hat goes off to this gentleman 🙏☦️
