DIVE STORIES is the new series on @BlueWorld_plus featuring famous scuba divers talking about experiences they had in the world of diving. Some are scary. All are amazing.
I don't cave dive but if I ever get stuck in my bathtub I'm calling Edd!
🤣
Make sure you call the right Ed 😂
@@mattb.6798 😂 lol!!
My husband only knows Ed as the guy he needs to call if I ever need rescuing 😂😂 I don’t even dive
😂😂😂
“That’s a bold move” , “yeah but I figured Ed would just yell at me”😂 that’s great
The fact that he does all of these at his own cost speaks volumes to the type of guy he is.
I have the utmost respect for Ed but at the same time money couldn't buy better advertising for his scuba company. 😂
I believe the sheriff departments pays him from whatever county the rescue is in.
Hopefully he’s not paying it forward.
I've been asking for years now, somebody has to make this into a full show/series, with detailed animations and actual videos from Edd's rescues. I guarantee it would be an award winning hit of a show!
upvote this!!!!!!
I feel like it would be difficult to do since most of his rescues or body retrievals are done in zero to low visibility. But I would watch.
@@alejandracarlos625you can use a detailed cave map to make a cross section like some channels go
I’d watch 🎉
Absolutely! Someone call netflix.. lol
This man belongs in conversations with the likes of Superman, Batman, Spiderman, and The Incredible Hulk. Edd Sorenson is a real life superhero.
I’m a grown man but can’t help to think that Edd is one of the coolest people on the planet.
You know you're a total bad-ass when grown Men all across the world look upto you. It's great to see a master excel at what they do.
Ed is one of the only people that when he says “and everyone clapped” he’s not lying
Imagine the feeling of getting lost in an underwater cave, a situation most people don't survive, and being rescued by a stranger. Then the moment you come out you see body bags meant for you and your buddy.... that's crazy
I did. And I'm still conflicted. Best day or worst day. Probably both at the same time.
@@ExistentialGojora were you one of the two students in the story? Just curious. Or was it a different event for you. Glad you are safe.
People like Edd are who we need this world. Humble, selfless, and a living breathing example for others. Inspiring man on so many levels.
He is also just a really nice dude. Friendly and kind. Every time I see him, he gives me a big hug.
Humble? I love Ed to death- he's an honest hero of mine, but he's not a humble man. Well, I'm sure if you change the subject, he may be but- when it comes to cave diving (which is all I've ever heard him talk about) he knows he's the man- and doesn't mind talking about it. He owns it- which is refreshing tbh. I know so many guys who are amazing at whatever their passion is but- they refuse to admit it. You know they know- I play guitar- when you're that good, you know it- but they always act like "Who? Little ole me?" It's kind of patronizing in a way.
@stoneysdead689 yeah I was just thinking this watching it. He absolutely loves to get some little brags in and recounting everyone cheering. It just isn't offensive because its not arrogant and he's genuinely helping people for nothing other than charity and glory.
@@stoneysdead689 he's saving lives, I think he gets a pass to brag a little
@@Randald He's a little cocky but he has every right to be. Lol
Such a great storyteller. He transports you back to this rescue dive like you had been right there with him all along. Such vivid detail. Great diver!
Couldn't agree more!
I still really love scuba, even with incidents like these.
Edd Sorensen is everything.
A great man, too. It must be difficult when you become "famous", to remain just as you are, regardless of what others may think (or over-think) of you. I like the way he gets into the way everyone was at the time. Rich Little couldn't do better. Depth of character and body with a light heart, true to himself - and very probably true to you, too. "And the other guy, he's just sitting in the mud, like a lunch break or something. Just sitting there. A union lunch break."I don't do any diving at all, but I bet Sorenson has a great analytical mind, planning, cautious, accurate - a General rank - and I have no idea what else goes into it. He probably tries to teach that to his students, or at least some of it.
@lydialeigh963 , Ed is not a great diver, Ed is the greatest diver to ever enter a cave, the man has saved more people and brought many home to loved ones.
It’s just incredible how he can manage these rescue dives. No time for preparation, panicking divers, zero visability and no clear location in a cave.
he was born for it
He just sends it
I just realized why Ed is a role model for even grown men. When he tells his stories, he's very matter of fact while he explains very gnarly situations and doesn't brag or show any ego whatsoever.
Edd “the black and chrome angel” the absolute badass
He deserves a movie or a TV series after his experiences
black and chrome angel is perfect description ❤
Wow. This is the first cave diving incident I'm aware of that could be told with a little bit of humor because it actually had a positive outcome. Edd's a helluva diver and a great storyteller, too.
Check out the one where Edd rescued the British Cave rescuer that was in on helping the boys in Thailand. Also a positive ending and there is video of it from Edd's side.
Here: th-cam.com/video/8y6pUXo32YU/w-d-xo.html
There are two other stories that Edd did with Dive Talk (not sure if on other channels) where he talked about two other lost divers he got back. One was a panicked diver and one was actually one of the Thai Cave Rescue divers (calm diver, with some mount footage). His storytelling is amazing!
We have him telling a few more that we will put up soon.
The black and chrome angel might just be the most badass and well deserved title I've ever heard.
What an incredible human being Edd is.
He is also a super nice guy!
I remember a story he told about a cave diver whom he went to recover his body, but to his surprise they guy was still alive and breathing from a tiny air pocket.
So I guess there is at least one cave rescue after all.
The one that greeted him with "Are You Looking For A Dead Guy?" And startled Edd was hilarious
I think edd has actually rescued 4 or more actually alive
@@Solon_The_Lich I need the name of the incident
@@darkcarolineriddle I don't remember where i saw the video of that story, i think it was with Gus and Woody from Dive Talk
YES! This guy has stories and it needs to be recorded and shared!
Edit: Can't believe the one student who calmly sat waiting for hist instructor while his instructor was despondent in Stacy's arms at the surface.
That's faith in your instructor!
@@BlueWorldplus In this case, faith completely and entirely misplaced.
@@kimberlycrouch7228He did cry out for help to the real Instructor.
Definitely had more faith in his instructor than he should have lol. Luckily edd sorenson is a freaking legend
@@onearmedwolf6512 This is what im saying
How he's able to do this young man's task at 55 to 60 years old is bizarre. What a badass.
Edds stories are fantastic & Jonathan is a great interviewer. Please sir, can we have some more?
More coming!
This man is a national treasure & hero!
Thanks Jonathan. Everytime I hear one of Ed's stories I'm mesmerized. His courage, demeanor and knowledge are mind boggling.
I'm not sure anyone can truly grasp how Ed's brain works. He's not "wired" like the rest of us. A very gifted individual.
I agree 100%
Gigachad. I see him at Jackson blue all the time, never knew who he was until now.
I'd get star struck if I saw him IRL 😂 he's a living legend.
@@isaidwhatisaid8470 he’s a really cool guy. I manage jackson blue and make sure to speak with him every day.
I think we all owe this man a beer for all his bravery and selflessness
supporting Edd Sorenson and BlueWorld from the mountains of Afghan/Balochistan
Any good diving out that way??? Thanks for watching!
@@BlueWorldplus allot of underwater caves totally unexplored specially in the Bolan region / Sirajabad and a known spot called Peer Ghaib, but these are all unexplored because here people lack both skill and services
I really hope Edd writes a book. His stories are epic.
man.. imagine coming out of something like that and seeing the body bags all ready for YOU.... very scary, glad to hear everyone made it out alright your a legend!
Him and Mike are the Elite of the Elite!!🔥🔥🔥🔥
Edd is such an inspiration for all divers. A living legend 🤙
This man was just built different. In any field or profession, you usually get one of his kind once every few centuries or so, the stuff of legends
I find it funny that there was no need to ask Ed questions since he already know the best way to tell his stories!
Yes, he is the easiest person in the world to interview!
The guy who just sat down calmly and waited for rescue will do just fine in their cave diving career.
If Edd number 2 didn't show up he would've had a real bad day.
@@Holyss24But a less bad day than the guy wasting his gas
But the other guy was probably the one making the noice - wonder if they would have been found if both of them had just calmly sat there. 😬
Just discovered this channel-Im not a diver but am a mother-greatly admired Edd since the rescue of all the Thai boys.
We really do have an Angel on Earth doing miracles for families to have loved ones back & have closure to their loss.
some instructor...leaves you behind ... Thank God for Edd.
This man is a real life super hero. He’s god damn cave diving aqua man! Ed sorenson IS THAT GUY. Legend.
Man that instructor that abandoned his students like that is a real peice of work.
i mean he still did the smartest thing he could've considering he apparently didn't know the cave very well. better to come up and get people involved than risk getting lost yourself and ensuring certain death for all 3. Should not have gone in in the first place tho
Yeah, the instructor screwed up, but when he realized he wasn't going to be able to get through that crevice and there was zero visibility, coming up to get help from other people was the best thing to do. Abandoning them would be if he got out of the water and just went home.
He is, but it arguably saved their lives. If had tried to save them himself, Ed would not have been notified until all 3 of them had become bodies.
I see Edd and I click. I wish there were more stories told by him. I'm not a diver, I can't even swim but his stories are so interesting and mesmerizing I could listen to him for hours.
You are in luck...we have more coming!
Edd is such an interesting person to talk to. I hope he'll one day develop a curriculum and standards for underwater cave rescue. It would make for a really amazing class.
I went through my cave training at Cave Adventurers, did my Sidewinder, and Cave DPV courses with Edd. I’ve heard this and some of the other rescue, and recovery stories several times. I was asked one time about my cave gear by one of my recreational diving buddies. They asked why I carried several spools and a safety reel, I told them because I can’t clip Edd off on one of my D-rings.
🤣 LOL He tells that story too so YOU have created one of Edd's funny stories! I hear that Edd's scooter class is hands down the most difficult class in the diving universe.
Words cannot describe how quickly I clicked on this video lol.
Thank you Edd for putting your life on the line for all these strangers. What a manly man!!!
Ed you make me proud. Retired Marine and retired divers.74 Best explanation I have ever seen.
Fuuu….half way through and my anxiety is peaking lol
This guy is such a hero. I love listening to his stories...
Man, tell you what. He's one cool cat. I'm the furthest from a cave diver/explorer, you will never find me near a cave. But I'm a huge fan of his. I think what makes him so great is that he seems extremely focused on safety and rules. I think that should be everyone's primary focus. To have well defined lines, and to never cross those. Obviously these divers are always at the mercy of the elements or their equipment, but I personally feel that you can mitigate so much just by continuously sticking to strict rules. I think what also makes him great is his ability to remain calm when others might let panic set in upon incurring problems. I've watched several of his videos, and he seems to keep his cool by following specific steps, and not shying away from those by letting panic set in, thereby making bad decisions based on fear. And some of that is genetic. He's definitely the "warrior" and not the "worrier".
I am so excited to hear you both at the Dive Talk meet up!!!
That is going to be FUN!
😮 that sounds amazing!
Imagine how lucky those students are to have this happen as the world's best rescue diver is there and able to help .
Did a lot of deep cave exploration in the 90s and most of the great cave divers all have this sense of humor and ability to work through really bad situations. It's part of what makes them great divers.
Such a breath of fresh air amid all the "most horrible cave diving deaths" videos
G.O.A.T.- Thank You Edd for always willing to be there.
Real life hero indeed
Ed is such a legend the Black Chrome angel lol love the videos been watching blue world since I was a kid on tv now TH-cam thanks for your great content I also like how now we can contact with you guys so cool
Thanks for being a long term viewer!!!
I’m not a diver, but this man is a true living legend. I can’t imagine how much respect those in the industry hold for him
The whole idea of it being "an industry" is a contributory factor to this incident.
Edd Sorenson truly is an angel. The man was definitely put on this planet to do what he does. If you ever read this Edd, you are a great man 🙏👼
You can tell he has a perfect mental map of the cave in his mind.
The G.O.A.T. himself❣️
Black chrome Angel make a multi series documentary on this man!!!
What a guy is all i can say! What a guy.
ED IS A HERO ❤🙏🙌🙌🙌
This man is a beast. Glad to have someone like this around.
Ed is a hero.I just love hearing him share his stories
Ed's stories deserve at least an animation to go along with them, these are some of the most heroic stories i've ever heard..
Legend - I was not surprised when Ed said he kept the note pad - this man is genuine - taking every aspect of the moment with the upmost respect - fantastic story teller.
Cave diving is dangerous..... These guys were lucky
Edd Sorenson is the Chuck Norris of cave divers!
Blue world upload + Edd Sorensons dive rescue story??
Epic Christmas eve!!
Thank you Jonathan !
Merry Christmas!!

Ed is a beast! That's all I can think anytime I hear his name mentioned.
I could listen to Edd’s stories all day
Great story and reenforcement to choose your instructors wisely.
Well, if things go sideways the best thing you can do is find Edd and scream at him for help 😂. So, I guess all things considered the other Ed did get them out - if not very elegantly.
@@Seldarius 😂better late than never

Ed is laying out the truth. It's only body RECOVERY TO EXPECT DIFFERENTLY COULD BE CONDUCIVE TO UR HEALTH
Edd Sorenson! Such a legend! Thank you BlueWorld!
I am clumsy enough on dry land, especially when stressed. I can't imagine doing anything in no visibility, fully encased in equipment, and with gloves on my hands. !! Ed is a real hero😍
Thanks, Jonathan for sharing this story of a successful cave diving rescue. I do have one question...
How exactly does one NOT stay to the end of the video when it is Edd frickin Sorenson!? 🤔He is the G.O.A.T! 🙂
Thanks to God. Thanks to Edd.
Great listening to a hero talking like it’s just another day at the office while I am terrified about what is happening❤❤
Man Edd has to be one of the coolest humans on the planet.
Take this in, the man is a legend and it is a pleasure to see and hear him relate this story. Much respect Edd.
It must be surreal to come out of a situation like that and see a body bag waiting for you.
Man I just kept laughing at the end, losing so many lines and other things in such a comical way and then the whole wait for ed thing hahaha, I can just imagine the guy taking notes to be like "wut"
Black Chrome Angel…Those are incredible stories.❤
I love caves and love diving but no way would I put the two of them together, It takes a special breed. Great dive story.
JB, wishing you and yours a blessed holiday. And the black and chrome angel too !!!
This guy is something else, balls of steel
Edd talks I listen... Honestly hanging on every single word, he is a natural storyteller
Edd!! I first discovered him from dive talk and he is a legend! He has some crazy stories, and a legendary cave diver and a real hero!
I must say. This is what being a man is about. Do good without gain. Love and respect Ed. So many positive things to say. But yall see what i see.
I used to be in the boat and my mom and 3 brother's would go diving, I hated it. We were supposed to go fishing and I was too naive and young to realize they were being non informing, taking it for granted that ment diving. I worried every minute they wouldn't come by back, either a shark or a giant catfish by my the dam at lake Travis in Austin. I really appreciated your words of your wife on top handling every to thing. I also love the way your person that you are make the telling of the tragic recoveries some how not so terribly forlorn. Peace you seem to convey in the face of desolation, and really a great deal of love. Now the supernatural finding of the ring I so related to, having a library of my own on pretty neat supernatural stories. God bless and I'm glad I got to hear yours.
Amazing... "I figured Edd would come and get me." Which Edd? LOL. When Edd can no longer dive safely, his skillset will die with him. I hate to say it, but due to Edd's sense of duty, his last dive might include his last breath as well. He goes into some places because no one else can. I hope he can find the wisdom to know when to hang it up. However many lives this guy has saved just through teaching, no one will know. No one has this guy's combination of intuition and skills. We can only hope that he finds a worthy successor.
He is going strong, so that day is a ways off.
Edd’s stories are great. He is an awesome man.
This guy is a real life Superhero in my book !
Great story! Ed S is such a fabulous diver, story teller and extremely nice person!
Love how Ed tells you exactly how good he is but still doesn’t come off obnoxious just a pro who’s amongst the very best and he knows it 👍.
Edd is awesome! 👏 💙
All that guys future students should have to watch this before taking his classes.
I could listen to Edd talk about anything diving related for hours, especially all the incredible rescues he’s done. He’s unique and one of a kind, a great man with exceptionable skills and ability.
the kid who sat down in the mud had no idea how close to death he was
He had more air than the other dude, prob because panicking uses more air
