    I have the G20 Gen4 and will never get rid of it. The gun shoots very well across the board. There's complaints about the snappiness of the round. But what in the literal hell do you expect from a caliber that's design to wreak havoc? The beauty of it all are the choices that's available now in 10mm. I'm never gonna knock a man that pays his hard earned money for the weapon of his choice

    Beautiful scenery in your video. Thank you.
    I love the 10mm Auto, it's my favorite cartridge. The .357 Magnum of the semi-auto pistol world.
    My first 10mm Auto pistol was a Gen3 Glock 20SF. If memory serves, I purchased it in June 2011.
    My favorite 10mm Auto pistol is the SIG Sauer P220 Legion, but it's mere 8+1 round capacity is the inverse of it's hefty budget-busting price tag. IMHO, it's a truly spectacular pistol. I don't care for the SS P250 / P320 pistol line in general, so the SS P320 XTen is out.
    I've not yet tried the SA XDm Elite 10mm Auto in either the 4.5" or 3.8" but they're on my radar.
    I have the S&W M&P 10mm M2.0 4.6" with the ambidextrous manual thumb safety. I really like having the AMTS on a semi-auto pistol. I find it to be a great, highly desirable feature.
    Head-to-head, I've found my M&P 10mm to be clearly superior to, and much more to my liking than, my G20SF. Thus, my M&P 10mm is my new wilderness trail hiking / biking / camping large critter defense platform, and so my Gen3 Glock 20SF has been sold.
    Good things! 👍

      It's really not an issue if you only shoot factory ammo and don't reload. I have reloaded for the 20 for years, but reused brass I only load mildly. Not a problem, just something to keep in mind.

  • @alecswann7234
    @alecswann7234 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    There are good reasons to prefer the Glock 20 over the M&P and Springfield. A. Glock is available and the others are not and never will be in some states (like CA) for state law reasons. B. Superior record of reliability -- after 30 years the failure points of Glocks are well known unlike the M&P and Springfield. C. Complete system -- the Glock 20 due to being in production for 30 years has a lot more holsters, accessories such as lights and lasers, and aftermarket sights. D. Flexibility to shoot .40 S&W and .357 SIG with aftermarket barrels. [In an absolute emergency the Glock CAN fire the .40, but using the extractor to hold the round in place which will break said extractor eventually. Much better to buy an aftermarket barrel, then without changing anything else, not the extractor nor ejector nor magazines, you can shoot .40. Or .357 SIG if you want with an aftermarket .357 SIG barrel. This gives the Glock ammo flexibility the other polymer options do not have.]
    There are reasons not to buy the Glock: don't like the polygonal rifling which means no lead bullets, only FMJ unless you buy an aftermarket barrel [HK same thing]. You reload and don't like the Glock oversized chamber which means reliable feeding but the "Glock Bulge" on your brass due to lack of a fully supported chamber thus the need for an aftermarket 10mm barrel if you plan to reload or shoot cast lead bullets for say, hunting or animal defense. You dislike the lack of a safety. You don't like the trigger, or the grip angle. I personally don't think the sights are that bad. They can be replaced if you don't like them, with affordable options due to its long service life, and there I think adjustable sights are preferred due to the wide variety of ammo available in 10mm in both velocity and bullet weight. The single biggest selling point of the Glock 20 IMHO is that with an aftermarket barrel it is the equivalent of a .357 revolver, able to shoot a lesser cartridge of the same bullet diameter that might be more affordable or more widely available.
    And here is where I would say that is decisive. The Ammo Crisis is not ending any time soon. The ability with an aftermarket barrel means you can shoot the Glock when there is no 10mm around, unlike (as far as I know) the M&P and Springfield. Add in the wider variety and lower prices of holsters and accessories, and the Glock is likely the preferred option for many if the trigger or grip angle are not deal breakers (they are for some of course).
