- The Glock 20 SF model is up for review here with some shooing, a discussion of the 10mm characteristics, and what I think of the gun overall. Of note---the non-SF model will be discontinued after 2013.

Thank you for the support
I love this guy's videos! Straight forward and very well spoken with no bs. Great shooting and information.
1911heaven I do too!!
Love my G20! I added trijicon HD night sights to mine. I use a Bravo Concealment holster that's allows me to carry it with a TRL-1 attached. I think this is a perfect set up for a woods gun. I do a lot of hiking and camping in Northern AZ and my G20 is always with me. Load up a couple spare mags with 180gr Buffalo Bore and I'm good to go.
@Izzyrodthegod do you mean the .40 S&W caliber? 40mm is a grenade. If so then, yes. .40 S&W has really fallen out of favor recently but it’s still a good round. I just prefer other calibers like 9mm, .45acp, and 10mm for semiautos.
Bad to the bone bro best hard hitting to just ammco high
Oh I forgot: AWESOME vid.
I've bought 3 guns on your recommendations. I really connect with the way you present your reviews.
I LOVE YOU MAN;)
Love me some Glock 20.
Great video, as usual. Always go to a new video of yours as soon as I see it.
I've got the 21SF as well--great gun.
thanks. and thanks for convincing me to get a glock 10mm. after watching your videos and your prompt responses it inpired me to own this beast. thanks again.
Enrique Barreiro you're welcome
I need more Glock 20!!!! Can't get enough of it.
Awesome bro! Glock 20 gen 4 is my back up "woods gun". The pistol is in a league of its own! - Jon
I've had one for about that long as well---straight beast.
Great review as always!
Noted. Thanks.
After watching this video I just picked up a Glock G-20 today, thank you.
10mm is best suited for longer barrels in my opinion. Look at chrono numbers in some 40 loads from a G23 and most 10mm loads from a G29---very similar.
I really like your channel. I would love to see you address the differences in how your different g20's shoot. Accuracy, perceived recoil, etc.
This is super helpful (even 6 years later) thanks to the PF45 being closer to the SF model than the vanilla.
nice
All around one great caliber! Great review!
Great video again. Can't wait to get one.
Great preview, I'm sold... Semper fi!
thanks!
Agreed on the causes of the Kabooms. But, a 40S&W Glock will show wear faster than a 9mm. Will it 'wear out' faster? Who knows. It'll easily go 50k before you need to replace any major parts and if you can shoot that many rounds than the cost to replace the gun is relatively nothing.
You're correct there.
Just ordered a Glock 20 Gen 3 from Bud's great price, looking forward to shooting it and adding it to my growing collection of G-guns, Thanks for the review added to my buyers information thanks again
awesome
I bought the Glock 40 MOS and then just bought the Glock 29 and Love these guns! Hitting a milk jug at 100yrds with the 40 with Holosun red dot is almost effortless 😜 Now I’m debating on buying the Glock 20 or maybe just the 20 slide to pop on my 40 lower . The 10mm is a great round and shoots well out of these guns
Just picked up my Gen-4 Glock 20 a couple weeks ago, my new favorite gun hands down. Thinking about a 6 inch KKM Precision barrel to up the velocity a little.
Solid choice
On my short list of must have!
Thank you.
It's just about the basics of grip and follow through; no secrets. Just takes practice.
Personal preference only. Both are great.
Just what i needed to make my day better. Glock 10mm video!
Anytime.
Really great gun, especially for 15+1 rounds of the awesome 10mm in a semi auto for 5-600 like you said. Very hard to beat that. What kind of velocity do you get with say the underwood 155gr using that longer after market barrel? Thanks for the review as always.
Thank you
For now yes.
I don't remember off the top of my head but I do have a video with the 180gr UA and that barrel.
Thanks.
Just bought one, love it!
Remember to change your OEM barrel to an aftermarket barrel (e.g., Lonewolf) if you are going to be shooting hard cast or lead bullets. More relevant if you are shooting the buffalo bore hard cast loads.
Do they make those barrels for the short frame?
Probably the new battle hook night sights for that role.
I have a 4th gen and love it. 10mm is my favorite round. Threw a lwd barrel in it, and now I can hand load some pretty stiff cast rounds.
Great video, I just picked up a Gen 3 today
dejuan1981 Thanks.
great review !
yes
like before watching. thanks for another cool upload.
Nice nice. You got it love it 10mm. Keep it up bro.
I conceal carry this bad boy.
+Daniel Dee awesome
Is it pretty easy to conceal?ya still carrying it?
Same here
My conceal carry as well. I'm 6'8" and weigh 265. So it is pretty easy to conceal it. No getting around it. Hands down the best pistol pound for pound. 16 rounds of 10mm. Never leave my house without it!
@@Knifestories I am 6'6 and weigh 40 pounds less and have no issue either.
MrGunsnGear, you save a lot of us guys a lot of money. Thanks Much ! I never really liked pistols much. I was raised in a family of one shot one kill hunters. Glocks looked ugly to me, as if they were made out of legos. After I checked out this video and others like Sotch00. I took the plunge and bought a Glock 20SF. To my surprise I did not hate it. I upgraded it with a Wolf barrel and springs for protection against bears. This pistol changed my attitude against Glocks and pistols in general. I presently live in California till this spring. When I will move to Nevada and will be buying many more firearms. Of course I will use your videos to help me decide on firearms purchases. I hope you get some kind of financial reward for your effort. If not I might have to buy some of your T-shirts.
When did Glock change the chamber support for the 10mm? I heard you mention it in this video. I have a gen 3 sf model.
Thank you for all your great videos too.
Great review on a great gun in a great caliber!!!!!!! I’m building a Glock 40 with a 4 port barrel!!! Poly 80 lower, with all the bells and whistles!!!!!
great review. I have been on the fence about this glock, own 4 in 9mm and a glock 35 that I will also convert to 9mm but will be able to switch back and forth to .40 as I please. I am moving to Idaho and purchasing land and have decided to buy one of these 10mm as my "bear" carry option for wilderness sidearm to stop grizzly, black bear, cougar, and wolves if I am out without a rifle. based on your vid I use underwood ammo for this purpose. thanks and keep up the good work.
Just curious as to if you personally have heard of a conversion barrel for the G30sf for the 10mm? Really like the vid and really interested in chambering down from a .45acp to 10mm if its feasible. Do you think the 30sf would handle it well? Thanks and keep the vids coming
Great video, have you tried a Sig P220 in 10mm? If so did you like it as much as the Glock 20?
Yup.
Lots of folks do but it's not so. That's how we learn though…..
The G20 SF is my first gun. Looks like it was a good choice. ✨👌🍻
Beast of first gun. First handgun was a 9mm
Another great review. I have a Gen4 on layaway. I will be picking up next week... something to carry while I hike the Northwest and Alaska. I can't wait to shoot it at the range. Once again...great review.
Thank you.
You're quite welcome.
It's large but I have large hands so I don't mind. If you have small hands is may not be the way to go.
A long gun is always better but the G20 will be one of the; if not the best handgun option.
It's fun.
The G29 also takes a lot of velocity away.
Indeed
Oh how I wish smith would do a run in the m&p lineup!
Unqualifiedly Yes. I carry one in a safe packer "holster". I have a Viridian X5L on it and I have the slide milled to accept an RMR. You can also go with the G29 if you really want to shave ounces but you loose the full grip for like 3 oz of unloaded weight (of course if you put 5 more rounds in your 20 then there is extra weight there but...). FYI the Norwegian Sirius patrol uses them as a last line of defense against polar bears. Same-ish power and lighter than a big bore revolver...
Nice.
Nice
Hey man love your channel. Question......what size barrel is that and from what company? I need one for my glock 20sf as well and seeing that youre using it i trust that it is reliable.
I love the 10mm cartridge I wish it came in more platforms though
Just got a sf like last week a I love it
May be.
This is my carry gun. I use a hidden hybrid Iwb/owb holster and a stream light tlr1s
It happens
I bought mine March 2018 gen 3 20 10mm SF I added a alpha wolf 6.02 barrel
Hmmm…… Lots of problems with that one. Good guns? Yes. But their loads are limited like the Delta
Elite. Not to mention the ergos…...
Nice video.
It's the SF dimensions with no straps
I thought they still made the non SF Gen 3 version for some reason.
The g20 was designed from the ground up to be a 10 mm handgun most other 10 mm handguns are designed from a 45 and converted to 10 mm which 45 pressures are way lower and could not handle the 10 mm loading
Don't forget you can convert a Kriss extension for the 10mm and have 32 rounds. The Arredando extensions are also good for 20+1.
Indeed. Straight nasty.
Just got this gun I love it.
+Albert Ortiz Awesome
Correct
I just moved to Alaska. Although this sounds like THE backcountry gun (I will be hiking, fishing, hunting quite a bit), I wonder if the added weight and recoil will be too much to have. I currently have a Glock 22 .40 and I'd imagine I would probably continue to bring that (only) to the range because of 10mm ammo cost and said weight/recoil. All that being said, if you moved to Alaska, would this be your daily outdoor driver? Appreciate your input! Great videos and new sub!
Lived in Alaska my whole life. I just carry a .44 magnum when I go out fishing or hiking
How does this feel in the hand? And by the way, thank you for your service sir.
Thanks a whole lot for your response. What about the .40 cal.? Since money is tight, and we rather buy once and have more bang for our buck.
Just got my hands on one of these bad boys. Do you have any recommendations regarding spring weight? IE how hot can I go with ammo before I should consider increasing the spring weight? Thanks!
I am going to get a Gen 4 G20, which will come stock with a stronger spring. I think that would help a lot.
Is there a noticeable difference in felt recoil between the gen 3 and gen 4
Moving from Commiefornia to Colorodo. And the first handgun I'm going to buy out there is the Glock 20sf for protection while hunting/camping. Not a big Glock fan but this one has got me drooling.
+HardcoreAmericanUSA nice
+Mrgunsngear Channel Oh and forgot to say, great video man!
what light was on the gun? looked like inforce? thanks...
You have a very good stance and grip on that Glock. Most of the TH-cam reviews I notice the 10mm kicks like a mule but with you it looks like a 9mm recoil.
Thank you
Get yourself a hand strength trainer and then apply good principles of recoil management!!! Stronger hands, and wrists will always help you improve!!!
It worked great for shooting up sandybrook aswell.
+john smith did it?
I enjoyed the review. Seems like a very meaty pistol.
Meaty is a good word for it.
Mrgunsngear Channel Words are one of the few things I'm good at!
By the way, what music are you playing in the intro? It sounds like Arcade Fire or something like that.
Do you have a preference for the gen 3 20SF or gen 4 20? Just for a little more info, will be used as a woods gun and would be swapping barrels, recoil spring assembly, sights, maybe trigger connector, etc. Great channel BTW! Always review your stuff while I'm researching. So thanks for all that!
I don't
Gen 4 is better.
Thanks!
Longevity--that's it.
Good vid, Thanks. Was thinking of the 21 but came to like the versatility of the 20.. like my ole 06 Springfield there's a load for every occasion, makes a good all around pistol.. Fact is i would only get the AM S&W .40 barrel for the actual 40 cartridge, If really needed, being you can find a 10 mm round that comes close.. And a AM 10 mm for cast rounds.. plus a .357 sig, woo hoo, Outstanding. Sadly, this will retire my XDM and .44 mag wheelgun to some far between range time :(... Peace Out..
+dzac01 thanks
Have you ever tried the Sig P220 Elite 10mm? If you get a chance could you do a review?
Have you checked KKM?
It does not come with a stronger spring. It is still 17lbs.
Indeed. M&P perhaps….
