OUR STORY SO FAR:
We are Cory & Kristen Williams and in August 2014 we made the long drive from Southern California to Alaska to move into our new home in Eagle River. Here we’ve had the chance to explore Alaska, experience lots of wild events, meet lots of great people and endure the extreme temperatures that the north is known for. On December 20th, 2014 we got engaged after our Polar Plunge under the Northern Lights then later married by our favorite lake on May 23rd, 2015. Then on June 23rd, 2016 we had our first child. A baby girl named Chell.

WHAT DOES "DudeLikeHELLA" MEAN?:
"Dude" is me, Cory. I am the dude. "Like" is a joining word which is used to express similarities and "HELLA" is slang for "a lot" or in my case, "the greatest amount". So together, "DudeLikeHELLA" means "The best me I can be".

I kinda agree with you Cory, I was concerned as Chell got closer to showing up that I thought 'ok, this is going to become a baby channel now...' but I honestly don't mind. You've kept your energy that your fans come to see, and it's just grown to a new level.
I'm a guy too and that's not the point I'm making. I'm saying that the same energy has remained, and they still get out and do stuff, there's just a new character added.

When Chell was crying one of my dogs woke up from a deep sleep, jumped off the chair she was on, ran across the room to me, asked to be picked up, got on my desk, and started to lick my computer. When Chell stopped crying she looked so proud and asked for tummy rubs and praise.
I think Chell is so happy and aware because you 2 are home all the time and interact with her more than only 1 parent home most of the time..but you can see ..she is soooo a daddy's girl !

I think Chell will always be a daddys girl, but when Kristen has a boy, watch out, he will be a mommas boy thru and thru. Protective, attentive, loving, sweet and mom will teach him how to treat a woman, not intentionally but just by being so sweet to him.
And I agree totally with the two parent theory as to why Chell is so happy and intelligent. So many families have to have two breadwinners not many can have two attentive parents each and every day. It's a shame, but true.

The word you're looking for is "Daddy". That love is indescribable and just keeps growing. One day my daughter (4 at the time) told me "We're connected you know, like a string from your heart to mine". That level of understanding totally blew my mind! I shared that because I see that same love for Chell in your videos that you share with us. My daughter is 8 now, with a4yr old brother and another due any moment, the family loves the show, something we get to share thanks to your work. Keep it coming !

Tim Silveira We all have those days where we need a little 'pick-me-up'. I'm glad you will look back on these comments and feel better. You clearly have a lovely growing family who is lucky to have a daddy that thinks the world of them.
I'm a relatively newly-disabled single mom and my daughter is 16 years old. I left a volatile situation with her dad when she was 1 and divorced him years later. He has chosen to have no contact with her, so sadly she hasn't had a dad in her life. My brother and dad live in the same city as us now so that is the closest she's got. That's why when I see a video with Cory and his baby girl, and see comments from other dads talking about how much they love their children, it warms my heart. I'm happy that there are families out there that have two parents who adore their kids. Don't get me wrong, I adore my daughter enough for two people, but there is something about a daddy that a momma just can't beat.

+Heather D. That's a rough situation. The only thing I can advise is to stay positive, and keep any hard feelings, between you and him.
My parents divorced when I was 10 and my mother used to take every opportunity to try and make my Dad look bad. He never had a bad thing to say about our mom and owned his share of the responsibility for the break-up.
Years later, I really appreciate the effort he made to make sure that it's his love that we remember from our childhood and not his pain.
Tim Silveira You are so right. My parents are still together so I don't have personal experience but as a child I was friend with a girl down the street while her parents were divorcing. I remember her mom being either very sad or angry. She would either cry or call their dad names. It got to the point where her 2 brothers went to live with him, leaving her alone with her mom. They eventually did get some support and things settled down, but I remember being scared to go there because it was a really uncomfortable place to be. It is so important to not bad-mouth the other parent. I have not had anything bad to say about my daughter's dad because I don't see the point. She's asked questions and I've been honest in an age appropriate manner and just enough info to satisfy her curiosity, but I never name call, bad mouth or deny me being the one who made the decision to leave. I have always thought that bad mouthing the other parent would likely make the child feel like half of them comes from someone that is bad, evil, mean, etc. Not a message I am interested in sending to my daughter. Now at 16 her questions are harder, but she's also older and can understand what I tell her.
Adventure is great and everything but I'm honestly here to see everything you do. Whether it's climbing a mountain, signing photos all video or sleeping with Chell. I love it all and it's because of the positivity you bring to your videos, even when you're having a bad day. Never stop doing what makes you happy because it makes us happy too! :D

Cory, we don't need outdoor adventures every day. The love you share for Kristen and Chell is always uplifting, and your lives together are the biggest adventure you will EVER have, and that's okay with me.

your baby is so happy because BOTH her parents are there for her 24\7 not many babies are this lucky, they are dropped off at babysitters or day care center or with one parent while the other works, your daughter has the two people who love her the most there and present for her what A blessing.

Cory, is the word "smitten"? I honestly love your channel showing so much of Chell, and I would watch more if you posted more. I love babies! I love family channels. Chell is extraordinarily alert, and insanely adorable!! She's just an absolute joy to watch, and equally enjoyable is watching you and Kristen loving her so much. I remember when my daughter was a newborn, my hubby and I would just sit and watch her for hours on end. There is nothing more precious than a new life. Like I said a while ago, I'm pretty sure Chell is a genius. I'll bet she'll be walking and talking way before other babies usually do.

I'm not ashamed. I just know that a lot of people are likely to get turned off by it. It's hard to accept that but at the same time, I can't help it. I won't fake who I am for the camera. This is me. I love my family more than anything.

Hallas, because Cory says those words a lot. If you had to swallow ten shots in 1/2 hour, you could overdose...alcohol overdoses can kill you very quickly. I used to go to school with a kid who accidentally OD'd on alcohol. First he fell into a coma and was brain dead. Then, right before the family had to decide whether or not to pull the plug, he died on his own. The kid was only 13. Not a good game.

Awww Cory you are Smitten with Chell. As a parent and now a grandmother, I know how you feel.
I think your baby is so active, curious, smart, and ahead of other babies her age because the two of you are making an effort to teach her so much. How many babies really get that kind of attention from both parents? I'd guess not most. Well done to the both of you! This is also why I think people should wait to have kids until at least one parent can stay home full time. Babies need that kind of attention and they certainly don't get it at daycare.
Cory, I think you will find that she is ahead of the game because she is so stimulated by you two. It's rare for both parents to be home at this stage of her life so she is getting double stimulation meaning she is learning things probably a little quicker than most her age. It's a good thing, And you aren't the only parent besotted, obsessed, infatuated with your child. Most of us are. :)

What originally peeked my interest was your trip TO, and then the daily trips IN Alaska. What a BEAUTIFUL state. Normally, I don't fallow other peoples lives, as my own is "rich enough" in "daily adventures", however both of you made me into a "convert". I find myself looking forward towards your next video, and todays just melted my heart. The ABUNDANCE of LOVE emanating from the screen was so strong, that I didn't want the video to end. I almost felt as an intruder. But in LOVELY way. Keep on doing these WONDERFUL vlogs, and continue to include us in your daily lives.

Having Children is the best thing in the world. You can't explain the feeling because there is no feeling like joy and love you have in your heart for our Children. She's growing up so fast! And she's so beautiful.

It's great to hear that people said positive things about expecting a daughter, since people can be so negative when a couple is expecting a girl, saying things like:

Exactly! I feel so sad that people feel okay with downgrading girls.. :(
Both boys ans girls are hard to raise, it's why we parents exist, to guide their way no matter what hardship.

Cory and Kristen, you have the most beautiful daughter!!! I only started watching your channel last october when Kristen surprised you she was pregnant. I came across your video which made me feel so happy in a time of sorrow. My cousin lost her baby at 38 weeks into her pregnacy on October 1, 2015 and i have lost 2 of my own. I want to thank you for all your videos from all your adventures to all the ones of Chell because they are all an adventure for me!!! God bless you three and hopefully more angels to come... 😇🤗😇🤗

I'm really not that surprised Chell is this expressive so young. Look at who her dad is, look who her mom is. It's not that surprising.
I mean, you did JUST post a 30 minute video of trekking up an Alaskan MOUNTAIN so... I think you balance things just fine. :) I love seeing you and your family together. I've been watching your stuff for years and what I enjoy is how genuine and enthusiastic you are about whatever you're investing time into. Seeing you as a family man is a JOY. You are smitten! She is a very smart baby, but then look at her parents! A blessed little one with both parents able to be with her. It took my husband and me 8 long years before we could have my son. Today he is about your age and he teaches at a university, psychology--a Phd. He is 13 hours away by car, but we talk often. Babies are pure love. I am so happy for both of you! By the way I have a kitty who looks very much like Sparta. That poster looks very owl-like--I love when my cat looks like that! Over the chair he looks like a sad kitty, lol!

Cory, you of all people should know why Chell is so happy. Its because she is your daughter. She has your joyfully and funny mentality.
I think you guys interact with Chell way more than most parents do. Working from home allows you to do so and IMO is a good thing in many ways. I don't think parents interact with their kids enough in the formative years.
Corey I'm glad that you have now told us that this is now the Chell channel, I have been a very faithful watcher for a long time and loved your adventures. I know you are besotted with your daughter as you should be and I wouldn't expect you to be anything less in the terms of being a fantastic Dad and great husband. concerning the "why is she such a happy baby", I had a talk about this with my dad. My parents remind me so much of kristen and cory, they're dorky adorable and overwhelming with love, also they have not a single ounce of evil or drama in them. They're the textbook definition of lovebears, and the conclusion at the end of our talk was that the joy and happiness and love which was exchanged during the pregnancy affects the brain and behavior of a child. Until today, im 24 and im still a happy baby :D
+DudeLikeHella Don't feel bad that you didn't vlog about going outside. Quality time with Chell and Kristen is important most of all. All these videos will be Chell's future treasure. Be proud.
You are reflecting her expressions and mimicking her, and she in turn is doing the same and it goes back and forth.. that is how and why she is animated.. she sees her reflection in you and you reflect her back and on and on..not all people have the ability or patience to do this time and time again..

Family/baby adventures are the best! Becoming a mom has definitely been the wildest adventure of my life, and my daughter is only 3 1/2 weeks old.
