in all honesty that was something I never understood back in the day. For me it came out when X-Sabre was a thing. They made X-Sabre, and XX-Sabre monsters. Like why put the second X in there, if it does LITERALLY nothing. It would make sense at least if you couldn't be the target of a card saying "X-Sabre"... To me when something is like, "Target a *blank* monster, it should be exact wording specific but idk.

XX-Saber monsters are still "X-Saber" monsters, but you can have support that only works for XX-Sabers but not for the original X-Sabers. D/D abuses this technicality with D/D/D, as does Galaxy with Galaxy-Eyes, Number with Number C, and the anime-only Stormrider with Stormridership.
Aww man, the tweet showed up on my timeline too late, I was hoping to get my Ojama x Invoked interactions in! For those interested, Ojamas have synergy with the A-Z union cards with Ojamassimilation and Ojama Pajama by either summoning their materials from deck or protection them from destruction respectively by banishing Ojamas for cost from hand field or grave. A-Z cards aren't connected by a single archetype name, so they accomplished this by saying Light Machine Fusion instead. The only light machine fusions in the game are exactly the A-Z lineup, Cyber Dragon visions, UFOroid, and Invoked Mechaba! Mechaba requires a light and an Aleister to summon, and Ojamas are light, making Ojama Invoked a surprisingly comprehendible jank deck whenever you want to weird your friends out! I don't recommend the sim interaction though, you get nothing for special summoning Aleister, but Pajama protecting Mechaba while also doing some hand control shenanigans and setting up some of your graveyard effects makes for some cool stuff!
Branded in High Spirits lets you reveal a monster from your hand, then send a monster with 2500 attack or defense from the extra deck to the grave, and if you do, you can send the revealed card to search an Albaz monster. That part is optional. You're supposed to use it with Albaz, but if you reveal a Warrior monster, like Neos, you can send Shining Flame Wingman to the graveyard, and search Fallen of Albaz. Better yet, with your copy of Albaz, go into Albion or Lubellion, who will let you fusion summon Shining Neos Wingman with the materials in the graveyard.
i dont know if this is intentional but every single qli monster, except for the 2 Normal monsters, towers and Skybase has the exact same statline as the monarchs. meaning you can sucessfully play monarch spell/trap support in qlis. meaning, you can actually and quite practically maintain a domain lock while sitting on qliphort towers
I can't see it being unintentional. They are a Pendulum deck whose main mechanic is Tribute summons and in MR 3, you would've been able to effectively remove your entire extra deck on your turn with a Pendulum summon.
Never actually comes up but Metaltron XII, if destroyed by an opponent's card, can float into a Synchro, Fusion, or Xyz that is of either Wind, Water, Fire, or Earth attribute. This means that Metaltron XII can float into a Majestic Star Dragon which is an omni-negate for the turn and if that negate is ever used, it boardwipes the opponent.
My favorite is that because Gemini's are normal monsters in graveyard, if you have zombie world up, the chemicritters can be summoned by Spirit of the Pharaoh
Summon whitebeard bluebeard ( plus another extended to get toad) Link into halquifibrax. Whitebeard cl1 searching golden hair( this is important to resolve last so you don’t get locked into plunders right away), cl2 halq searching dbds ( it is a tuner), cl3 bluebeard ( for chainblocking) everything resolves and now you have on field: Goldenhair Dbds Halq Link the goldenhair and halq into Blackbeard. Now you have the lock ready to set up when your opponent gives you the attribute you need
Surprised nobody mentioned Void Vanishment being able to search Into the Void. Into the void came out 5 years prior, and the singular card cycle you get for it probably isn’t worth searching when you can get MUCH better cards anyway. Funny enough, “Null and Void” got a name change to “Muko” after a while since it was in a Frog The Jam situation, but that errata has… yet to be printed. The latest printing of it is still called Null and Void.
I know for me one card that surprised me on terms of synergy with a much later archetype was Cyber Emergency and Drytrons. Cyber Emergency says it can search a Cyber Dragon, that we all know. But it also happens to also search for LIGHT Machine monsters who can't be Normal Summoned/Set. Which is *exactly* what the main Drytron monsters are, so it can search any of those bois to give you better shot at plays.
One thing I managed to figured out (despite people not playing this deck) is that galloping Gaia is able to add a level 5 dragon monster from deck to hand but didn’t specify the name meaning you can add mahaama the fairy dragon
I know it's been 7 months but I just realised that you can use ariane(the labyrinth girl) to special summon ANY LEVEL 4 OR LOWER FIEND MONSTER from the DECK which makes her a great resonator one card starter for supernova lol. all you need to do is draw ariane and a trap card(red reign and imperm are free ones but you can play lost winds or something like that) to discard then specail summon crimson resonarot to lvl 6 synchro then special crimson back to go lvl12 synchro. Also ariane is searchable with resonator command as well which searches a fiend monster by discarding a resonator.
I don't think it counts as it isn't about a specific card interaction and it's not that obscure, but Metalfoes works well with cards that can send Combination from field to GY. Often this effect is combined with Magicians' Souls or True Draco, but you could use a ton of stuff: Forbidden Droplet, Eldlich, Anteatereatingant, Unchained Twins and Emergency Provisions for instance
@@Terrantular because the "HERO" vs "Hero" designation is technically a "Because Konami Said So", though one that is widely accepted. Hundred-eyes Dragon was a Red-Eyes for the same reason that "tellarknight" is an archetype. It makes more sense if you consider that Yu-Gi-Oh is originally Japanese, therefore name-based archetypes would look for specific kana, which results in the awkwardness of the English versions looking for a phrase, word, or word fragment.

The absolute dumbest synergy I found that absolutely was *not* intentional was using March of the Monarchs and all the monarch support in conjunction with the Earthbound Immortals plus Mound of the Bound Creator. It was stupid on *many* levels but it was fun for a while. If you tribute summon an Earthbound Immortal with March of the Monarchs on the field, then they can't destroy themselves with their own effects because they were tribute summoned monsters. Further, all Earthbound Immortals were level 10 monsters that could be protected by Mound of the Bound Creator. I'm kinda glad that, even though it wasnt good at the time, its deader than dead cause the EBs *suuuuck*

One of the dumbest ways to win with Madolche is with the continuous trap Desperate Tag, which was released about two years before the debut of Madolche. With Desperate Tag and Madolche Waltz up, if you have the field spell and 2 Messengelato you can instantly win the game given your opponent has a big enough monster on the field. If you attack with Messengelato into their bigger monster, Desperate Tag and Waltz will activate preventing you from taking damage and burning your opponent a little. Then Desperate Tag will special summon the second Messengelato from your hand while your first Messengelato will put itself back into your hand after it was destroyed. Then you can repeat this until you win the duel with Waltz Burn. I've only ever seen it work like twice.

I’m not sure how intentional this was, but a lot of Charmer support cards don’t search “Charmer” or “Familiar-Possessed” monsters, but Spellcaster monsters with 1850 atk (for the F-Ps), or Spellcaster monsters with 1500 def (for F-Ps and the regular charmers). This has the side effect of making them also able to search/special summon monsters such as: >Windwitch Glass Bell >Servant of Endymion >Sage with Eyes of Blue >The Golden Swordsoul >A handful of Dogmatika monsters (including Ecclessia and Ashiyan) >Most of the Gravekeepers >Literally every Fairy Tail monster
My fav is the 1500 atk/defense sun summoner lady that can special summon the water witchcrafter from your deck face down, and then flip her face up as a quickie which you can then chain the witchcrafter’s effect to in order to summon vere and then chain verre’s effect to to that to negate your opponent’s entire board Plus she is a level 4 spellcaster so you can use grand spiritual art to search Inari fire or one of his friends to make a utopia double on the crack back and push for game

Its even better. The Charmer Links search a monster of their attribute regardless of type with 1500 defense when they die. Dharc is already basically a staple in its own right due to how many Darks are in the meta, however in Sky Striker specifically he searches Raye on death.

OH NO AMANO IWATO IS A CARD. For those who don't know spirits have to activate in the end Phase to add themselves back to the hand and rite prevents that. Thats right it's not a game mechanic, it's an effect. So yeah you can chill on amano while having a gryphon rider on board.
When Call of the Haunted (or cards similar to it) is destroyed, it takes out the monster it Summons as well. Since this is part of the Trap effect, you can use Magic Planter to draw 2 off Call of the Haunted and proc the effect of Graydle Cobra to steal a monster.
I've been experimenting with random cards and found that a jinzo support, psychic shockwave can be used in both Kozmo and world legacy due the card requiring specifically a level 6 dark machine type monster. Kozmo has one monster that it can summon through landwalker, and World Legacy has two with World Legacy Crown and World Legacy Shield. not to mention a weirdly funny one I've noticed that Ancient Gear Box can Search, get this, SPYRAL quick fix.
My favourite roid vs speedroid case is the duel links skill "Check out my ride" where you can destiny draw a roid every time ur life points decrease by 1000, so you can add the entire speedroid archetype.
I'm not sure if this counts for the topic, but one synergy I always found funny is how cross out designator is technically a "starter" for metaphys because their effects trigger during the standby phase after being banished.

They’d make verte, fusion summon some idiot with master Diamond as a material, have verte copy the effect of de-fusion to summon that master Diamond from grave, and then use master Diamond’s effect to copy the lapis lazuli in the graveyard to finish off the opponent
2:04 ...and Ash Blossom is a level 3 FIRE Tuner... meaning you don't even have to do anything crazy to summon him. You'll be using Ash anyway. You can just play any other Level 3 card in your usual Gren Maju Deck to get this combo out Wild 🤣
@@isaacsmith6482 A little limiting, unfortunately. Lonefire is craziest with Synchro summoning, and Horse Prince locks you out of summoning anything higher than level 5. The Gren Maju combo is mentioned mainly because, outside of a Gizmek or something, they don’t really summon high level monsters
I think the Right-Hand Shark to Crooked Cook combo was something Konami didn't plan in advance. It's just a combo we see so often that we think it was made that way.
One I found is "Begone Knave." "Temple of the Mind's Eye" and "Spring of Rebirth". Anything attacks you, they deal 1000 damage, it's returned to their hand and you heal half of it. Is it good? No But it's always funny when it goes off and your opponent doesn't have backrow removal at that time
Awww, mine didn't make it in TLDR equipped monsters go to grave under D-Fissure because they don't become monsters again until they are already in the GY at which point it's too late to banish them, also you can equip a monster via a card effect under anti-spell because it's not considered activating a spell I can see from reading that back why he didn't include it
A fun fact of a thing like this that Konami did catch, they changed the name of the card “Metaphysical Regeneration” to “supernatural regeneration” so it wasn’t a Metaphys card. Which as somebody who played and loved it in duel links, is the most impact metaphys has ever had on the TCG
During the N/R festival, I used transcicada in a monarch deck due to essentially reading like a squire or a vassal as well as having the 800/1000 stat line. It was useful for setting up a board for a surprise Gilford the lightning to board wipe my opponent with cards that allowed me to normal summon on the opponents turn.
This is one thing I love and hate about yugioh. Old cards can still be good (sometimes). If you have an archetype you love, just wait. Eventually Konami will print something that it can use, even if they do it by accident
I loved how Lair of Darkness + Ahrima is better support than anything Earthbound Immortals have gotten since release. A field spell searcher that can also search any Immortal. And that field spell helps create tribute fodder for the Immortals and makes Uru able to tribute opponent's monsters for its effect. Though it is sort of sad this is the only support playable in an Earthbound Immortal deck we have gotten.

@@haruhirogrimgar6047 Okay, I am calling bullshit It is more so meant to be played with how Rex Goodwin played his Earthbound Immortal - by setting up an Inti/Quilla loop to keep himself safe until he gets his Immortal. Now, Greater Linewalker summons itself when you have that loop set up, which is helped further by the Level 5s that summon out the two synchros' Tuners. Next, he searches your Earthbound Immortal of choice. Finally, he sets your opponent's LP to 3000, putting them in kill range of fully boosted Wiraqocha Rasca, Uru, and Ccapac Apu (two of those got reprinted in the set the support came in, no less) So yes, Greater Linewalker is good support for Earthbound, even further helped with Geoglyph that makes getting them out easier in this kind of style of playing
@@kichiroumitsurugi4363 Again, at that point you are playing a deck intended to turbo out synchro monsters and eventually get to using Earthbound Immortals or you just add them for discard fodder. Even the field spell is an absolute embarrasment since again it is looking to boost up synchro strategies rather than improve the playability of the Immortals.
King of Yamimakai in Japanese is "Supreme King of the Dark Demon World" - using the exact same Kanji for Supreme King as all of the other Supreme King archetype cards in the game. Therefore, King of Yamimakai is actually technically a Supreme King card.
I used to actually run 3 Supercharge in speedroids, it would always confuse people. Also, in Super Heavy Samurai, I used to play Bait Doll because it would shuffle itself back into the Deck.
Trap of Darkness ignores activation requirements as it just copies the activated effect. This makes a lot of high-effort Traps not just usable, but even better than before - still jank tho. Trap of Darkness + Exchange of the Spirit: brings it back to the way it worked in the anime. alternatively: Trap of Darkness + Last Turn : due to the timing of ToD, you can effectively activate Last Turn during your own turn, creating a situation in which your opponent attacks *during your turn* - assuming you don't have Jowgen or similar shenanigans. There's certainly others but those are the two that I use in my prog series.

Summon the crusadia search aboria go into generic link 2 summon exceed summon exceed summon aboria. Make halq w aboria and link 2 summon dragon buster. Make moerk link moerk and halq into black beard equip dragon buster
I feel like Gale Dogra deserves a mention. Konami definitely didn’t intend for that card to be as busted as it is. There’s a bunch of ridiculous FTKs where you change it to a psychic monster using Reprodocus, use Telekinetic Charging Cell to ignore the LP cost, and then loop extra deck monsters like Omega and Herald of the Arclight (splashing Megalith Och to draw cards) to achieve any win condition under the Sun. These combos usually die to 1 interruption and are pretty inconsistent, but they can be pretty funny depending on what you chose as a win condition.
@@RayquaSr. because that's just a convoluted way to play it as a combo it's not a "synergy" or some random tech or unintended interaction D. A. D. being monarch is not a combo, but some interaction Same with Roids and speedroids all interactions and not random combos to abuse an effect
Vehicroid main since 2014 here. Competitive Vehicroid builds aiming to be as good as possible use Elemental HERO Necroid Shaman as part of the win condition. After you've successfully stalled until you have 6 machine monsters in the GY, including Mixeroid, you can activate Mixer to banish 6 and Special Summon Elemental HERO Necroid Shaman from your ED. This destroys any card they control and revives a 0 ATK handtrap to their field in ATK position. After this you use Vehicroid Connection Zone to turn the Elemental HERO Necroid Shaman into Super Vehicroid - Mobile Base and attack the handtrap for 5000 damage using Megaroid City. I make competitive Vehicroid guides for those who are interested in learning more about non-casual builds of the deck.
I guess because you need to have this and the trap on the field AND you have to establish a board to survive the opponents turn so that you can use the cards you send from deck.
@@GreyVictory1510 Well the main thing is needing to have the trap in grave the turn before you activate chronicle, or wait 1 turn after using chronicle and hoping you don't die the next turn by not having spells in hand for Verre.
Tried it for a bit in Master Duel a few seasons ago and imo the main problem really is that it's a p big sacrifice for the deck's already weak turn 1. Like if you manage to start with Schmietta + Chronicle + another spell, you have to choose between getting your default end board of Verre + Bystreet or Verre + no Bystreet + but Chronicle and Patronus set up for your opp's turn. It's a really cool idea that solves Witchcrafters' resource problem (in a v explosive way) but it's a bit too inconsistent imo, ended up replacing them for restage/magician's hands lol
It's a +3 during your opponent's draw phase but all the cards you're adding suck. The problem is not the consistency of it, the whole play just accomplishes nothing and your board of Verre pass gets run over and you die
@@Yugiohdeckmaster41 -White + Blue make Halq -CL1 White, CL2 Halq (and I guess Blue to chainblock + cycle) -Halq summon buster dragon -Whitebeard summon any plunder name -Plunder name + Halq into Blackbeard -Activate Blackbeard like normal except targeting Buster instead of itself (the cheated out Plunder won't be live except Lys)
For the plunder buster lock I'd assume you normal summon it or one for one for it, both of which are stupid as shit. A better way would probably have been union carrier target moerk but that card is banned for a reason.
Ah, shame that I was late to the post. I was gonna suggest two of the dumbest/funniest interactions of Cyberdarkness Dragon. 1. If you have the Buster Blader Retrain on the field, and you negate monster effects on hand or field with Cyberdarkness Dragon, you can then equip that monster to said buster blader (since it doesn't care WHAT destroyed the monster), allowing you to do it AGAIN (since Cyberdarkness Dragon send ANY equip, not only the ones equipped to him). 2. Just another day on the shenanigans of Adventure Token and their Equips, as Cyberdarkness Dragon turns 1 equip into 2 negates (since as mentioned previously, Cyberdarkness doesn't care WHO has an equip card on your side of the field and the equips can re-equip themselves once per turn).
Traptrix Rafflesia getting hit by Fog Blade. She's immune to the negate but not the attack prevention. Since she protects the other traptrix on the field from being targeted, suddenly your opponent can't do anything in the battlephase
@@frankwest5388 The funny thing is I don't run Fog Blade. People were Dupe Locking themselves. And I don't see what's so bad about it, your opponent can only out her with Spell or Monster effect removal, and the latter can be hard to use considering Rafflesia herself is an Omni-Negate against summoning.
Here's another cheeky thing you can do with Dragon's Bind. If paired with the downside of Megamorph, you can use any dragon to lock them out of special summoning. This lets you use high attack monsters with protection, like Chaos MAX, to floodgate. You could also have fun with some type changing cards, like Reprodocus, to get some other powerful cards with protection.
My favorite usage for Dragon's bind was to equip it to Evilswarm Ophion, to do this, you just need to have Dragon Bind set, and 2 level 4s on field with Ophion. You switch Ophion to defense position, then use the 2 level 4s to make Photon Papilloperative and use it's effect to switch Ophion to Attack position but it loses 600 ATK.
The Geargiar tech is really great actually play 2 Hero lives and 2 Shadow Mist abd you got free extenders and a free card. In addition you could get kinky in the play by playing 1 mask change for 1 less geargiar change.
In Gefahr formats a player is tearing it up by using A Hero Lives for the same reason in Prank-Kids. A free body + Poly. Not unintended or anything but just ended up working out super well.
shadow mist can also search star changer. i used to use this for making lv5 and lv7 synchros instead of lv6 while just using shadow mist and red resonater as materials.
I get the uncanny feeling that if the Meklord Emperors were playable we would have discussions about all the busted interactions and loops they'd have because the special from hand isn't once per turn... I mean Granel is playable because they forgot to print the "Other monsters can't attack" line of text on him, and also Astro Mekanikile stats in master format... just saying... I mean tbh even the effects they put limits on are soft once per turns so I guess you could do loops. Yay, infinite spell negates with Wisel.
The "Other Monsters Can't Attack" being left out on Granel I thought was always intentional, due to his effect being a "Steal, and then SS the monster you stole." so that you can still use the monsters that you took.

It's fun knowing that I can have both my meklords out and Wisel still being able to attack, and if they negate wisel's negate now I can hit them with my 4000 atk big man, also a whole lot of cards go boom along the way. My favorite Meklord enabler is BM-4 Blast Spider, along with cards like The Phantom Knights of Break Sword and Dianond Dire Wolf, forgot to mention that
Another thing about meklords that kills their playability is the "When" on their summons. I have died inside so many times because of missing timing with these idiots

For those interested, Ojamas have synergy with the A-Z union cards with Ojamassimilation and Ojama Pajama by either summoning their materials from deck or protection them from destruction respectively by banishing Ojamas for cost from hand field or grave. A-Z cards aren't connected by a single archetype name, so they accomplished this by saying Light Machine Fusion instead. The only light machine fusions in the game are exactly the A-Z lineup, Cyber Dragon visions, UFOroid, and Invoked Mechaba! Mechaba requires a light and an Aleister to summon, and Ojamas are light, making Ojama Invoked a surprisingly comprehendible jank deck whenever you want to weird your friends out! I don't recommend the sim interaction though, you get nothing for special summoning Aleister, but Pajama protecting Mechaba while also doing some hand control shenanigans and setting up some of your graveyard effects makes for some cool stuff!

Branded in High Spirits lets you reveal a monster from your hand, then send a monster with 2500 attack or defense from the extra deck to the grave, and if you do, you can send the revealed card to search an Albaz monster. That part is optional.
You're supposed to use it with Albaz, but if you reveal a Warrior monster, like Neos, you can send Shining Flame Wingman to the graveyard, and search Fallen of Albaz. Better yet, with your copy of Albaz, go into Albion or Lubellion, who will let you fusion summon Shining Neos Wingman with the materials in the graveyard.
i dont know if this is intentional but every single qli monster, except for the 2 Normal monsters, towers and Skybase has the exact same statline as the monarchs.

I can't see it being unintentional. They are a Pendulum deck whose main mechanic is Tribute summons and in MR 3, you would've been able to effectively remove your entire extra deck on your turn with a Pendulum summon.

Never actually comes up but Metaltron XII, if destroyed by an opponent's card, can float into a Synchro, Fusion, or Xyz that is of either Wind, Water, Fire, or Earth attribute. This means that Metaltron XII can float into a Majestic Star Dragon which is an omni-negate for the turn and if that negate is ever used, it boardwipes the opponent.
My favorite is that because Gemini's are normal monsters in graveyard, if you have zombie world up, the chemicritters can be summoned by Spirit of the Pharaoh
Return of the Monarchs makes for a gimmicky Normal Summon Qliphort Deck. Can add all of them.

Link the goldenhair and halq into Blackbeard. Now you have the lock ready to set up when your opponent gives you the attribute you need
Surprised nobody mentioned Void Vanishment being able to search Into the Void. Into the void came out 5 years prior, and the singular card cycle you get for it probably isn’t worth searching when you can get MUCH better cards anyway.
Funny enough, “Null and Void” got a name change to “Muko” after a while since it was in a Frog The Jam situation, but that errata has… yet to be printed. The latest printing of it is still called Null and Void.
Into the void is supposed to be used with infernity, which is closely related to infernoid, so it makes sense lore wise.
I know for me one card that surprised me on terms of synergy with a much later archetype was Cyber Emergency and Drytrons. Cyber Emergency says it can search a Cyber Dragon, that we all know. But it also happens to also search for LIGHT Machine monsters who can't be Normal Summoned/Set. Which is *exactly* what the main Drytron monsters are, so it can search any of those bois to give you better shot at plays.
One thing I managed to figured out (despite people not playing this deck) is that galloping Gaia is able to add a level 5 dragon monster from deck to hand but didn’t specify the name meaning you can add mahaama the fairy dragon
I know it's been 7 months but I just realised that you can use ariane(the labyrinth girl) to special summon ANY LEVEL 4 OR LOWER FIEND MONSTER from the DECK which makes her a great resonator one card starter for supernova lol. all you need to do is draw ariane and a trap card(red reign and imperm are free ones but you can play lost winds or something like that) to discard then specail summon crimson resonarot to lvl 6 synchro then special crimson back to go lvl12 synchro. Also ariane is searchable with resonator command as well which searches a fiend monster by discarding a resonator.

I don't think it counts as it isn't about a specific card interaction and it's not that obscure, but Metalfoes works well with cards that can send Combination from field to GY. Often this effect is combined with Magicians' Souls or True Draco, but you could use a ton of stuff: Forbidden Droplet, Eldlich, Anteatereatingant, Unchained Twins and Emergency Provisions for instance

@@Terrantular because the "HERO" vs "Hero" designation is technically a "Because Konami Said So", though one that is widely accepted. Hundred-eyes Dragon was a Red-Eyes for the same reason that "tellarknight" is an archetype.
It makes more sense if you consider that Yu-Gi-Oh is originally Japanese, therefore name-based archetypes would look for specific kana, which results in the awkwardness of the English versions looking for a phrase, word, or word fragment.

The absolute dumbest synergy I found that absolutely was *not* intentional was using March of the Monarchs and all the monarch support in conjunction with the Earthbound Immortals plus Mound of the Bound Creator. It was stupid on *many* levels but it was fun for a while. If you tribute summon an Earthbound Immortal with March of the Monarchs on the field, then they can't destroy themselves with their own effects because they were tribute summoned monsters. Further, all Earthbound Immortals were level 10 monsters that could be protected by Mound of the Bound Creator.
I'm kinda glad that, even though it wasnt good at the time, its deader than dead cause the EBs *suuuuck*

One of the dumbest ways to win with Madolche is with the continuous trap Desperate Tag, which was released about two years before the debut of Madolche. With Desperate Tag and Madolche Waltz up, if you have the field spell and 2 Messengelato you can instantly win the game given your opponent has a big enough monster on the field. If you attack with Messengelato into their bigger monster, Desperate Tag and Waltz will activate preventing you from taking damage and burning your opponent a little. Then Desperate Tag will special summon the second Messengelato from your hand while your first Messengelato will put itself back into your hand after it was destroyed. Then you can repeat this until you win the duel with Waltz Burn. I've only ever seen it work like twice.

I’m not sure how intentional this was, but a lot of Charmer support cards don’t search “Charmer” or “Familiar-Possessed” monsters, but Spellcaster monsters with 1850 atk (for the F-Ps), or Spellcaster monsters with 1500 def (for F-Ps and the regular charmers). This has the side effect of making them also able to search/special summon monsters such as:

>Servant of Endymion
>Sage with Eyes of Blue
>The Golden Swordsoul
>A handful of Dogmatika monsters (including Ecclessia and Ashiyan)
>Most of the Gravekeepers

My fav is the 1500 atk/defense sun summoner lady that can special summon the water witchcrafter from your deck face down, and then flip her face up as a quickie which you can then chain the witchcrafter’s effect to in order to summon vere and then chain verre’s effect to to that to negate your opponent’s entire board
Plus she is a level 4 spellcaster so you can use grand spiritual art to search Inari fire or one of his friends to make a utopia double on the crack back and push for game

Its even better. The Charmer Links search a monster of their attribute regardless of type with 1500 defense when they die. Dharc is already basically a staple in its own right due to how many Darks are in the meta, however in Sky Striker specifically he searches Raye on death.

When Call of the Haunted (or cards similar to it) is destroyed, it takes out the monster it Summons as well. Since this is part of the Trap effect, you can use Magic Planter to draw 2 off Call of the Haunted and proc the effect of Graydle Cobra to steal a monster.

I've been experimenting with random cards and found that a jinzo support, psychic shockwave can be used in both Kozmo and world legacy due the card requiring specifically a level 6 dark machine type monster. Kozmo has one monster that it can summon through landwalker, and World Legacy has two with World Legacy Crown and World Legacy Shield. not to mention a weirdly funny one I've noticed that Ancient Gear Box can Search, get this, SPYRAL quick fix.

My favourite roid vs speedroid case is the duel links skill "Check out my ride" where you can destiny draw a roid every time ur life points decrease by 1000, so you can add the entire speedroid archetype.

One I found is "Begone Knave." "Temple of the Mind's Eye" and "Spring of Rebirth". Anything attacks you, they deal 1000 damage, it's returned to their hand and you heal half of it.

A fun fact of a thing like this that Konami did catch, they changed the name of the card “Metaphysical Regeneration” to “supernatural regeneration” so it wasn’t a Metaphys card. Which as somebody who played and loved it in duel links, is the most impact metaphys has ever had on the TCG
During the N/R festival, I used transcicada in a monarch deck due to essentially reading like a squire or a vassal as well as having the 800/1000 stat line. It was useful for setting up a board for a surprise Gilford the lightning to board wipe my opponent with cards that allowed me to normal summon on the opponents turn.

I loved how Lair of Darkness + Ahrima is better support than anything Earthbound Immortals have gotten since release.
A field spell searcher that can also search any Immortal. And that field spell helps create tribute fodder for the Immortals and makes Uru able to tribute opponent's monsters for its effect.
Though it is sort of sad this is the only support playable in an Earthbound Immortal deck we have gotten.

It is more so meant to be played with how Rex Goodwin played his Earthbound Immortal - by setting up an Inti/Quilla loop to keep himself safe until he gets his Immortal. Now, Greater Linewalker summons itself when you have that loop set up, which is helped further by the Level 5s that summon out the two synchros' Tuners. Next, he searches your Earthbound Immortal of choice. Finally, he sets your opponent's LP to 3000, putting them in kill range of fully boosted Wiraqocha Rasca, Uru, and Ccapac Apu (two of those got reprinted in the set the support came in, no less)
So yes, Greater Linewalker is good support for Earthbound, even further helped with Geoglyph that makes getting them out easier in this kind of style of playing

Even the field spell is an absolute embarrasment since again it is looking to boost up synchro strategies rather than improve the playability of the Immortals.
King of Yamimakai in Japanese is "Supreme King of the Dark Demon World" - using the exact same Kanji for Supreme King as all of the other Supreme King archetype cards in the game. Therefore, King of Yamimakai is actually technically a Supreme King card.
I used to actually run 3 Supercharge in speedroids, it would always confuse people. Also, in Super Heavy Samurai, I used to play Bait Doll because it would shuffle itself back into the Deck.

Trap of Darkness ignores activation requirements as it just copies the activated effect. This makes a lot of high-effort Traps not just usable, but even better than before - still jank tho.
Trap of Darkness + Exchange of the Spirit: brings it back to the way it worked in the anime.
alternatively: Trap of Darkness + Last Turn : due to the timing of ToD, you can effectively activate Last Turn during your own turn, creating a situation in which your opponent attacks *during your turn* - assuming you don't have Jowgen or similar shenanigans.
There's certainly others but those are the two that I use in my prog series.

I feel like Gale Dogra deserves a mention. Konami definitely didn’t intend for that card to be as busted as it is.
There’s a bunch of ridiculous FTKs where you change it to a psychic monster using Reprodocus, use Telekinetic Charging Cell to ignore the LP cost, and then loop extra deck monsters like Omega and Herald of the Arclight (splashing Megalith Och to draw cards) to achieve any win condition under the Sun.
These combos usually die to 1 interruption and are pretty inconsistent, but they can be pretty funny depending on what you chose as a win condition.

Vehicroid main since 2014 here. Competitive Vehicroid builds aiming to be as good as possible use Elemental HERO Necroid Shaman as part of the win condition. After you've successfully stalled until you have 6 machine monsters in the GY, including Mixeroid, you can activate Mixer to banish 6 and Special Summon Elemental HERO Necroid Shaman from your ED. This destroys any card they control and revives a 0 ATK handtrap to their field in ATK position. After this you use Vehicroid Connection Zone to turn the Elemental HERO Necroid Shaman into Super Vehicroid - Mobile Base and attack the handtrap for 5000 damage using Megaroid City. I make competitive Vehicroid guides for those who are interested in learning more about non-casual builds of the deck.

That spell chronicle + witchcrafter combo is nuts I almost forgot about it, why don't witchcrafter players use it more?
I guess because you need to have this and the trap on the field AND you have to establish a board to survive the opponents turn so that you can use the cards you send from deck.
@@GreyVictory1510 Well the main thing is needing to have the trap in grave the turn before you activate chronicle, or wait 1 turn after using chronicle and hoping you don't die the next turn by not having spells in hand for Verre.
Tried it for a bit in Master Duel a few seasons ago and imo the main problem really is that it's a p big sacrifice for the deck's already weak turn 1. Like if you manage to start with Schmietta + Chronicle + another spell, you have to choose between getting your default end board of Verre + Bystreet or Verre + no Bystreet + but Chronicle and Patronus set up for your opp's turn. It's a really cool idea that solves Witchcrafters' resource problem (in a v explosive way) but it's a bit too inconsistent imo, ended up replacing them for restage/magician's hands lol
It's a +3 during your opponent's draw phase but all the cards you're adding suck. The problem is not the consistency of it, the whole play just accomplishes nothing and your board of Verre pass gets run over and you die

For the plunder buster lock I'd assume you normal summon it or one for one for it, both of which are stupid as shit. A better way would probably have been union carrier target moerk but that card is banned for a reason.
The way I’ve seen it done in Plunder before is through Halq, because Destruction Sword is also a Tuner.

Ah, shame that I was late to the post. I was gonna suggest two of the dumbest/funniest interactions of Cyberdarkness Dragon.
1. If you have the Buster Blader Retrain on the field, and you negate monster effects on hand or field with Cyberdarkness Dragon, you can then equip that monster to said buster blader (since it doesn't care WHAT destroyed the monster), allowing you to do it AGAIN (since Cyberdarkness Dragon send ANY equip, not only the ones equipped to him).
2. Just another day on the shenanigans of Adventure Token and their Equips, as Cyberdarkness Dragon turns 1 equip into 2 negates (since as mentioned previously, Cyberdarkness doesn't care WHO has an equip card on your side of the field and the equips can re-equip themselves once per turn).
Traptrix Rafflesia getting hit by Fog Blade.
She's immune to the negate but not the attack prevention. Since she protects the other traptrix on the field from being targeted, suddenly your opponent can't do anything in the battlephase

And I don't see what's so bad about it, your opponent can only out her with Spell or Monster effect removal, and the latter can be hard to use considering Rafflesia herself is an Omni-Negate against summoning.
Luna can search any big spirit charmer card since they are spellcasters with 1850atk
Here's another cheeky thing you can do with Dragon's Bind. If paired with the downside of Megamorph, you can use any dragon to lock them out of special summoning. This lets you use high attack monsters with protection, like Chaos MAX, to floodgate. You could also have fun with some type changing cards, like Reprodocus, to get some other powerful cards with protection.
My favorite usage for Dragon's bind was to equip it to Evilswarm Ophion, to do this, you just need to have Dragon Bind set, and 2 level 4s on field with Ophion. You switch Ophion to defense position, then use the 2 level 4s to make Photon Papilloperative and use it's effect to switch Ophion to Attack position but it loses 600 ATK.
I used reproducis to summon naturia beast in D/D/D's. Type and attribute changing cards can do some weird shenanigans.
The Geargiar tech is really great actually play 2 Hero lives and 2 Shadow Mist abd you got free extenders and a free card. In addition you could get kinky in the play by playing 1 mask change for 1 less geargiar change.
In Gefahr formats a player is tearing it up by using A Hero Lives for the same reason in Prank-Kids. A free body + Poly. Not unintended or anything but just ended up working out super well.

shadow mist can also search star changer. i used to use this for making lv5 and lv7 synchros instead of lv6 while just using shadow mist and red resonater as materials.

I get the uncanny feeling that if the Meklord Emperors were playable we would have discussions about all the busted interactions and loops they'd have because the special from hand isn't once per turn... I mean Granel is playable because they forgot to print the "Other monsters can't attack" line of text on him, and also Astro Mekanikile stats in master format... just saying... I mean tbh even the effects they put limits on are soft once per turns so I guess you could do loops. Yay, infinite spell negates with Wisel.
Basically scuffed Endymion at that point with soft once per turn negates

The "Other Monsters Can't Attack" being left out on Granel I thought was always intentional, due to his effect being a "Steal, and then SS the monster you stole." so that you can still use the monsters that you took.

It's fun knowing that I can have both my meklords out and Wisel still being able to attack, and if they negate wisel's negate now I can hit them with my 4000 atk big man, also a whole lot of cards go boom along the way. My favorite Meklord enabler is BM-4 Blast Spider, along with cards like The Phantom Knights of Break Sword and Dianond Dire Wolf, forgot to mention that
Another thing about meklords that kills their playability is the "When" on their summons. I have died inside so many times because of missing timing with these idiots
