can't believe he said, "idk why you'd ever use kepler's bounce effect" when my tweet literally gave situations where you'd use it T.T
Classic Yu-Gi-Oh players with their illiteracy.
Kepler bounce Rage in scale has literally won me games, it’s so funny
We’re yugioh players, you know we don’t read.
He didn't show that tweet, what did you suggest?
Who?
Dark Hole has a hidden effect to remove itself from Gage's deck during each week of Progression Series.
Still legitimate statement after all these months
Kaijus actually have effects outside of "sac the opponent's boss monster lmao". Lost a game today because apparently Gameciel has a non-opt omni-negate that goes really well with Kyoutou Waterfront.
Yes, but apparently, these counters don't stick well.
@@LazarL Some Crusadia players actually used Gameciel's omni negate because they ran Saryuja and such
I played a dumb Kaiju Tenyi deck once and it fucked me more than once
Wait, Kaijus have effects?
@@indumatipngtuber2790yep. Lightningstrike is king calamity
I feel like people always forget Zeus has another effect that says: if another card on the field is destroyed, attach a card from your Deck OR EXTRA DECK to this card as material.
It rarely comes up, but when it does late game in GY reliant strategies, “search anything to put in GY as part of a board wipe” is pretty crazy.
Attaching infinitrack Goliath for days
I think the reason that effect doesn’t come up as much is since Zeus nukes the entire board, there’s nothing left on your board other than Zeus for your opponent to destroy
@@ironblaster_8838 also when i see my opponent summon Zeus i totally focus to find a way to deal with Zeus. Like it's top priority
Wtf
I had that happen to me on master duel. I was so freaking confused when it happened
I had a drytron player on master duel dump vanities emptiness with beatrice, make barricadeborg with fafnir and linkuriboh then, specifically link off barricadeborg and an extra drytron name for auroradon to use the trap effect to set up vanities with their herald/beatrice (sending eva in draw phase) it was miserable
Was going to comment this. IO is also an arguable inclusion due to it interacting with cards you otherwise can’t like dark ruler no more
I did that in dark warriors back when Gouki was a relatively new deck, but with Knightmare Gryphon. People hated the fact that I could make Kristya + Anti-Spell Fragrance with a single Armageddon Knight.
Imagine showing this comment to a player in 2009. In fairly up to date with the game and I feel like I just had a stroke.
Yeah we did that in triple electrumite pendulum
@@TheSteve5154 Oh it keeps getting worse
All cards should have the • and ① separating multiples effects
They do in the OCG. TCG just does paragraphs.
@@Dw7freak That's exactly what they mean, that it should've, and really they should anyway, that way of phrasing effects as a list to make it easier for everyone
Yeah its hilarious that TCG goes out of their way to remove those symbols during localization. Even more reasons to hate Kevin Tewart
@@Dw7freak Paragraphs? I'm sorry, time traveller, this is the timeline where Konami tells us to be glad they even use full stops.
Better yet have key words, like instead of "this card is not effected by card effect" just use "unaffected by card effects"
Reminds me of when I was dueling against a True Draco player in the Syncro event on Masterduel. And accidentally flood gated them by activating a Zombie World. Which had the added effect of not just turning all cards on the field and in the graveyard into Zombie types, but also the added effect that neither player can tribute summon monsters, unless they're zombie types.
That’s one of the uses right now. You side it against birds so they can’t get their big birds out.
Synchro*
@@johnnickfanaccount3492 In my defense. Up until dueling against a True Draco player, it had never come up before, because with the exception of Monarchs, and Egyptian Gods, not many decks actually tribute summon all that often.
@@SunniestDeese Bruh. We currently have a tier 1 deck that tribute summon.
@@Jaddas he said masterduel. Those cards aren’t in the game yet
The other day someone was destroying my own cards to summon his "True King" monsters, and I was so confused...until I realized True King of All Calamities has that other effect and doesn't just shut you down for a turn or two.
As if VFD wasn't broken enough lol
@@Pr1est0fDoom he is the king of kings

Oddly enough in my locals the amount of people who didn’t know about Endymion’s spell search AND it’s effect in the Pendulum scale was honestly dumbfounding. I had an Endymion mirror match and cleared a guy’s board because of own Endymion’s pendulum effect, guy literally said “wait, he has a pendulum effect”,
Fucking amazing.
How can you look at the card, see text on it, and not know it's there? lol
@@OtakuUnitedStudio A lot of it comes from learning how to lab out hands with certain lines of play. A lot of the time some cards, like Endy boy don’t ever use their full effects in a game. Still reading and seeing all the effects should be done
@@spacewizardpip1111 Exactly.
Shout outs to Castel the Skyblaster Musketeer for having an effect to detatch 1 to Book of Moon a monster instead of spinning it.
I have misclicked so many times with that card.
Did you know that Psyframe driver has a secret effect that said”During the first turn of the duel put this card into your hand including in 5 cards opening hand”?
It shares that effect with ash blossom
Wow that's interesting it's the same as dark ruler no more I think these cards should be nerfed
Isn't that the same effect on invokation?
Cant say how often i opened driver. Or D hero dasher. Or both (:
Ah, that explains a bit actually!
Too bad they didn't put that on the Psyframe cards that actually do something
As a D/D/D player I gotta mention that D/D Savant Kepler's bounce effect comes up in the late game if u need to recover Abyss Ragnarok (since most people play only 1 copy) so u can put pressure on board
Bouncing High Caesar so you can summon it again is even funnier.
It also comes up every time on automated simulators since for some reason its the 1st effect when 99% of the time you want the search
the funniest kepler interaction is bouncing orthos to reuse its effect cause its a soft once per turn
or on turn 10 to refresh a p. scale 1 Kepler
Junk Speeder has a second effect which has come in handy exactly once for me in master duel against a traptrix player. The traptrix player floodgate trap holed my monsters summoned via junk speeder. They also had imperial order face up on the field.
The second effect of Junk Speeder is that on the turn it is synchro summoned, if it battles a monster it can double it's attack ala speed warrior. I did enough damage to make the traptrix player die to IO with just a junk speeders attack
Did you know junk speeder can double its attack when it battles on the turn it was synchro summoned?
Or that when satelitte warrior is destroyed it can summon back stardust, warrior synchro monsters and/or synchron monsters. I didn't know it could summon synchron monsters so I lost one game.
@@shawnjavery I would lose the same game because I didnt knew he floated
So it's basically Synchro Speed Warrior?
@@arandomcrusader8822 Yeah, even design-wise he looks like an upgraded Speed Warrior
7:00 This hidden Pendulum Monster effect also happens to apply to Lunalight Tiger, which triggers for "This card on the field". It was mentioned in a Lunalight Tri-Brigade decklist profile I watched and it's definitely been clutch for extending just that little bit further.
Hot Red Abyss has a monster reborn effect for tuners when it inflicts damage. I honestly didn’t know this until Master Duel
Bane does this too, and it summons one from deck as well
Gladiator Beast Domitianus (the newest boss monster) has a little line of text that says "You choose the attack targets of your opponent's attacks" but it's hidden between a NEGATE and his standard GB tag out text so literally NOBODY has read it at any point and I have won a LOT of games because of it.
It's especially good considering that Dom himself is 3500 and your standard end board will often also include a 3k defender that can't be destroyed by battle AND an 800 attack Test Panther that is just such bait for someone to attempt to attack into.
If your deck plays cyber dragons, infinity is great but so many players miss lethal bc they tunnel. Nova not only can represent lethal w/ just it and limiter, it also floats on destruction. Like, it’s also a crazy card in its own right
I play Cydras in Master duel and the banish to gain attack is great, it also allows you to then use the banished cards as Fusion material if you were able to search Cyberload Fusion using Core. Since it's a quick play you can use it after your other monsters attacked to hit lethal with something like Cyber Twin (because you can't use activate multi-attack of Rampage Dragon during the battle phase).
I know I play it in duel links it can summon a cd from gy and quick effect banish cd from field or hand this card gains 2100 attack my opponent used blue-eyes alt dragon and then cyber end came out the first time ever I used that effect.
Auroradon's Trap effect was especially insane in the OCG where they could consistently mill Vanity's Emptiness in Drytron and then use Halq/Auroradon to add it back.
They didn't even need Halq tbh. All the level 1 Drytrons are machines so you can just hard make the 'Don with them
Oh yeah Golden Castle of Stromberg is just infinite (non-OPT) pop + burn when opponent attacks. Yet for some reason people attack, don’t read it, then attack again and admit defeat when they just mirror force * magic cylinder themselves.
Yo wtf my monster destroyed ?
Does Golden Castle have another effect that isn't this or the cost??
@@masterduelzero1795 it has a search effect for a monster that lists golden castle
No one has read that effect of the Evil Eye Field Spell either.
Also no one knows the 3rd effect of Hidden City except Guru players.
Well Castle cards have quite a few hidden effects.
-Hexe Trude can attack twice on monsters and boost its' own or other monster's atk. It's a pretty good effect, just less used now because it's used as xyz fodder.
-Glife can pop backrow on summon; also this is once per turn for some reason, even though the search effect isn't.
I've played fluffal for like a year and didn't know till about a month ago that fluffal bear has an on-field effect that tributes itself to add a poly from grave. He's not just a toy vendor searcher apparently
Had a similar happen to me but it was the fact that my opponent forgot that I could pay 500 lp to fusion summon using owl eff insted of searching a poly.
I was under Naturia Beast but my opponent knew I had owl in hand so it was extra funny.
Lot of people also forget that Chain adds another copy of itself when attacking
The batteryman name replacement is due to in-archetype attack gain vis a vis Batteryman AA
Ruffian Railcar, the train you discard with switchyard to search a level 10 machine, has an on field effect to burn 500 and skip your battle phase. Fine to poke on the first turn, not for much else though
Batteryman Solar copies names because Batteryman AAA gets 1000 ATK for each AAA you control. And Their Tribute monster gains a unique effect depending on if you tributed AAA, D or C for it's Tribute summon. Neither of these are all that important, but it's still very flavourful for Batterymen
I’ve actually used keplers other eff before. It’s kinda specific, but sometimes if you open Kepler and a contract, it’s more beneficial to bounce a scale before you make gilgamesh so you can resolve Gilgamesh’s eff. It needs to set both scales to activate.
Please, when learning decks/new cards or whatever, please read *every* effect. I saw F.A. Dawn Dragster has piercing. You may play this card and not know it has piercing, and it will cost you a win at some point.
But reading is hard.
Reading is fundamental.
Some Batteryman cards have effects based on how many of the same name you control- I remember playing the OTK back in the day with Inferno Reckless Summon and Batteryman AA. So, as a 4th monster named Batteryman AA, Solar can make your AA's be 4k beaters.
I think zefraath has the best hidden effect that it can summon a monster from deck. That effect will never come up because nobody every summons it, but if you do lmao, you get to tribute a monster to get another haha
And preceded to never print a good monster to summon with that effect
@@brutalnobody5240 I guess the TellarZefea’s would be alright. Since they pop stuff on summon.
Which is definitely what you will need, when you pull Zefraath’s summon off.
That, and the extra Pend Summon
Endymion's effect to nab a Spell from deck has two sources. All the Pendulum monsters in the archetype have some sort of floating effect (Magister and Servant return to the Pendulum Zone, Reflection adds an "Endymion" from Deck), but it's also somewhat sourced from the original Endymion, who grabs a Spell from Graveyard when you summon him via his condition. In the latter case, it actually serves to set up a targeted pop via his second effect. In general, since the deck is so spell reliant, it's just some minor recursion on an already-bonkers card.
Ah yes, the episode where Joseph reminds us all that none of us can read
7:22 that abyss actor is literally just worse purple poison
The Golden Castle of Stromgerg. They always, ALWAYS, attack.
Everyone knows that the Knightmares can pop/spin a card on summon at the cost of a discard and most people know that if they do so while co-linked you get to draw a card, however few to no players seem to remember or have ever known that they have continous effects while co-linked. These include protection from effect and battle destruction as well as Unicorns hilarious effect to draw extra cards during the draw phase if you have a field full of Knightmares.
Looks like someone didn’t play in Gouki extra link days where the boards were nearly un-outable because you had Goblin, Phoenix, and Cerberus staring you down on turn 1
oh a lucky soul that did not play one of Yu-Gi-Oh's most miserable format.
Yeah, everyone forgot since they refuse to make down arrow link 1s and mermaid is banned
Wasn't that part of SPYRAL's end board?
I have another one: Gizmek Orochi can banish 8 to summon itself, but did you know it can also banish 3 from ED FD to pop a face-up monster?
There's actually a reason why Solar has that effect.
And its thanks to a certain Electric Dinosaur Dragon thing. Its basically Gadjitron Dragon but for Batteryman
Isn't it fo AA?
@@Jrpg_guy you could use it as a D if you really wanted lol, but yeah, giving a 1k boost to other AA is what it must have been written to do. But as someone who plays batteries, you don't even run AA
If you're crazy, you can also use it in Batteryman AA OTK as soft copies 4-6 of Batteryman AA
not just Voltech Dragon it has synergy with all the old Batterymen who had their effects ramp up the more of themselves were on board. 2 D is an attack lock. AA boosts itself 1k for every AA on board, C buffs all your machines 500 for every C on board.
Never forget King of the Skull Servants can revive himself if destroyed by battle. Because that happens oh so often right
To quote MBT from an episode of History" "DMoC has a battle effect?"
Knew about the Dragunity Romulus one as it's come up multiple times in Dragunity Dragonmaid deck.
On that note all the big maindeck Dragonmaids are immune to effect destruction as long as you have any fusion monster under your control. This leads to funny interactions with DPE and Borreload Furious.
It's funny with the Infinitrack Xyz monsters can attach the destroyed monster by battle actually came up when I played vs Eldlich. I attached their Golden Lord to one of my guys and they couldn't do anything
Attaching the monsters was part of what interested me, especially combo'd with Dyson Sphere.
Endymion searching out a normal spell if destroyed by battle is supposed to be used for Spell Power Mastery iirc. Monster Reborn works too though.
Actually, Monster Reborn does not work because Endymion goes to the Extra Deck
@@johnnickfanaccount3492 Yeah, the most common ways we get Pendulums in the GY are dumping them off Magician's Souls, or making Absolute Dragon and linking it off/popping it with Mighty Master's scale effect (sending the XYZ material to GY).
Amorphactor Pain is known for the MP1 skip but it's also a skill drain for non-Link ED monster
Sphere kuriboh being ritual adjacent is because the first ritual summon in the anime (black luster soldier) used kuriboh and Gaia the fierce knight as tributes. That’s also why Gaia and BLS are connected lore wise
Substitoad, one of the most busted card of all time because it can summon a bajillion frogs from the deck, also has a battle protection effect.
You were probably originally meant to use Substitoad to dupe-lock the opponent.
Which is obviously the main reason people played Substitoad back in the day.
@@frankwest5388 Well it can dupe lock the opponent..... as well as other things.
@@luminous3558 what could that be?
All it does is put a tiny frog on the field. You even have to tribute something for it and even more if you want to do it more than once.
Tell me! How can a card that can special from the deck and cycle a ton of weak monsters in one turn, ever be used for anything else?
@@frankwest5388 Right, Mass Driver and Cannon Soldier
Basically you would spam Substitoad to summon frogs to tribute with Cannon Soldier to burn
Ok but the adding a spell thing on Endymion actually comes up fairly regularly.
I played the shit out of Endymion before electrumite was banned, and more than once I crashed Endymion into a bigger monster just to search raigeki.
Heatsoul has an effect that isn't the Pot of Greed if you are low on life.
Arrive in light makes stardust dragon unaffected by compulsory evacuation device. This happens because if it didn't have that text, majestic star dragon would tuck itself back into the extra deck during the end phase. It's a protection clause that won't come up, to protect a card you won't summon, all in a package of cards intended for a deck that is better off not playing majestic dragons or their retrains.
I remember I was playing a tag duel on EDOPro shortly after the Majestic support came out. My opponents were using Synchron and Rose Dragon decks. I don't remember what my teammate was using, but I had a Majestic Assault Mode deck (it's overall worse than the Synchron variant, but I just find it a lot more fun to play, especially when you throw in more Assault Modes than just Stardust. Did you know Arcanite has a field nuke attached to it? Card's crazy)
They had Moonlight on field, and I was setting up the Majestic plays. They were like "do you not know what Moonlight does?"
And I just Synchro Stardust and say "do you not know what Arrive in Light does?"
Surprisingly, Majestic Star Dragon isn't that bad thanks to Arrive in Light and Converging Wills Dragon. It's basically an omni negate
Modern Yugioh Cards be like
Once per turn, activate one of these effects
*You win the game, also steal your opponents deck, also delete your opponent from history
*Select one monster you control, that card gains 300 ATK until the end of this turn
Gagaga Sister has another effect!
Did you know Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon can reduce the battle damage you take from an attack involving a pendulum monster you control to 0? Has it ever stayed in the pendulum zone long enough for that to ever happen?
I only remember it because it was the only part of the Pendulum Effect Yuya ever used in the anime lol
One time i won a game because of this effect, me and my opponent were playing in time, which, back then was 5 turns then check who has more life, i was ahead in life and placed Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon in the scale and passed, my opponent takes the last turn and immediately enters battle phase with a single monster, since he assumed he had the game. The look of disbelief on his face when he read the card and realised i wasnt joking and the card actually had that effect was beyond priceless
i actually used that effect on duelingnexus once before, i was actually confused when it gave me the prompt
@@elijahpadilla5083Okay to be fair, if you read the anime version of Odd-Eyes, it only had the damage negation effect in the pendulum zone. And the battle damage doubling it had ONLY WORKS on level 5+ monsters in the anime too, making so so much worse than the one we got
@@armedweiss5531 All 4 Dimension Dragons had effects that only worked on Level 5+ monsters in the anime. Odd-Eyes was strictly worse like you said, Dark Rebellion only needed 1 Material and wasn't even OPT but could only target Level 5+, Clear Wing is unchanged except for gaining OPT clauses, and Starving Venom was strictly nerfed in its text box from the anime.
Anyone suprised that Supreme Starving Venom gives piercing to all your monsters has clearly never seen the anime.
YOU STILL TAKE THE DAMAGE
Moving the subject slightly to secret cards, Heavy Armor Train Ironwolf is a rank 4 that’s a member of the railway collection. Not many people play it but if you manage to get both it and Gustav on field, you win. Gustav burn 2k, rank up to Liebe, Liebe raise to 6k, and then Ironwolf detaches to target Liebe, allowing her to attack directly. Exactly 8k damage, through any defenses. In the best situations, this is a 4 card combo, but it’s still funny
Auroradon has an effect that isn't just "Get summoned from Halq, summon three tokens, proceed to synchro summon using Deskbot 001 when it summons itself from the graveyard"?
For me it was Starving Venom, I didn’t know it had an effect where you can Copy an effect of your opponents Monster.
Only if it’s level 5 or higher.
There's a LOT of effects that mostly we don't even know it existed. Like Wisdom-Eye Magician Monster effect that can "fix" the Monkeyboard/Timegazer/Stargazer pend scale "drawbacks" for example. Or the supreme gate Zero and Infinite monster effect to stroy scales or search a Funsion Spell card direcly with the Pend eff. Looking foward to the second part
I knew that dragster had piercing, I use it in my ojama deck, with ojama country it becomes a 4100 atk beatstick with s/t negate, niche but pretty cool uh?
He forgot orcust knightmare has battle protection from link monsters. I lost a game since my marincess deck couldn’t beat over it.
Actually, On Black Rose Dragon’s position change effect, I used to use it a lot in Duel Links, since sometimes stopping the one beater was more important than clearing the entire board. I was also garbage at the time tho so it might just be me
I think it was MBT wondering why Shooting Riser Dragon got limited when Halq has a second effect few use that lets it special summon it during the opponent's turn.
The question was why bother limiting a card nobody ever played at more than 1 anyway. That goes for both Riser and Halq itself, I cannot believe they didn't just ban it right away.
So how many times have we seen a Lunalight Chick get impermed to negate the NAME CHANGE when you just wanted to foolish for cost.
@@johnnickfanaccount3492 Because they assume the foolish effect is not cost
@@johnnickfanaccount3492 When playing on DB ir IRL, people just...forget

Everyone knows that Dark World cards have an effect that triggers when discarded by an opponent’s effect, but does anyone actually know what the effects are? I’ve used Snoww’s monster reborn effect and Goldd’s pop 2 a couple times, but Grapha’s The Inexperienced Spy effect is kinda underwhelming
Back when Dark World first came out Silva actually saw more play than Goldd because we had no Heavy Storm, Harpie's Feather Duster and only one MST.
Ceruli baby. It triggers their 2nd effects. Also, grapha can SS if it’s a monster meaning it’s a +2. Silva’s effect is crazy, it’s an arguably better delinquent duo.
Endymion's destruction immunity got me twice
Rokket Caliber can tribute itself to summon a Dark Machine
Plat gadget can search a gadget if it's destroyed
I have literally played Pend Magicians on Master Duel, the thing that does all your effects automatically, and even I didn't know that Supreme KIng Venom has a piercing effect
I won SO MANY games thanks to that piercing effect back in the day, especially since a lot of the people in my locals played Scapegoat
I had it come up and had to read through my entire board to find the source of the piercing
I remember the History of Yugioh episode where MBT didn’t know DMOC banished anything it destroyed in battle. And that card is from 2004. Is that a secret effect?
3:40 I know this one! My first deck in MD was Dragon Link and Noctovision saved my Crossout from being destroyed once.
In Master Duel Spyral we play Barricadeborg Blocker to discard stuff like Rescue if we need to get the combo going with something like Souls and a Drone on board after sending Master Plan.
Sometimes people are so used to Barricadeborg being a random discard Link that recycles Field/Continuous Spells that they don't actually read the last sentence, which, uh, says "Face-up Spells you control cannot be destroyed by your opponent's card effects. " I'll admit I've completely failed to notice that Geonator Transverser is a "Why the BA no die" card before though.
Utopia destroys itself when targeted for an attack without any Xyz Materials. Of course, it's never on the field long enough to deal with that effect, but it's really dumb, because it means ANY monster can attack in Utopia, it blows itself up, and then you get to replay the attack and attack something else.
People who play in the early Xyz era knew this lol, not a news, there was literally only 2 relevant Xyz monsters in the entire game in the early Xyz era so people read all the text
oh huh, this is one that i actually knew because i played duel links a lot
It would never happen but I wish they'd errata that bit off
3:34 as an endymion player, you theoretically can use it to add a copy of spell power mastery, i mostly use it to add odd-eyes fusion
The pendel monsters that do stuff after being destroyed in the pendel zone, need that effect in the monster effect text, because they are monsters after being destroyed.
You forgot mystic tomatos special effect to move into defensive mode.
@@johnnickfanaccount3492 i guess you aren't a fan of progression huh?
I learned recently Kycoo has a no-banish floodgate effect. lol
As a CyDra player (i.e. masochist), the attack buff from Nova actually comes in hand many times for OTKs. It's not THE effect you want to activate, but it is useful from time to time.
Did you know that Zeus can OPT attach a card from hand, DECK OR EXTRA DECK to itself as material if any card other than itself is destroy by battle/opponent's card effect
Auroradon's second effect actually says add cybernetic overflow back to your hand. If you play cyber, you know the combo I'm talking about
I remember reading Girsu effects in master duel and I was like there’s no way that this guy can become a tuner and I ain’t know 😂 for years I didn’t know 😂
A classic hidden effect is Ultimate Falcon reducing attack or burning for 1k during the end phase.
They only work if it has a radi raptor attached.
Which is why it will never matter, because you are only summoning it with Waking the Dragon
Actually if you want to take the extra deck space it is possible to summon it with a few level 4 monsters in some combo decks. After the first Raidraptor monsters you use Raider's knight for a rank 5, trigger wise strix for rank-up skip force, use it to go into Arsenal Falcon, AND THEN you link it off or something, at which point it triggers and you get ultimate falcon with an xyz as material. Is it good though ? I don't know, but it's doable
@@AntoMelon I played a lot of RR.
I know it can be super easy to summon.
I was using hyperbally
@@frankwest5388 oh ok sorry! You're definitely right, outside of that this effect is never seen!
Why would you summon it off waking? Pretty sure you would prefer exterio or last warrior over a towers that gets beaten over by everything in 2022.
@@luminous3558 nowadays it's probably no longer the best target anymore yeah, because of Accesscode and Goddess and all that stuff, but it was pretty good a few years ago I think, some decks just couldn't pass it
Crusadia Equimax... not only does it get big and OTK... but it can also tribute a crusadia or world legacy it points to to negate a face up card for a turn
Yep and there's a way that this card can technically negate things like DRNM as well because of that kinda. Pretty neat
Extremely true re: black rose. That effect comes up all the time when trying to find killshots that play around gorz.
Re Endymion, that effect comes in handy since he can fish Spell Power Mastery if he's ever destroyed, which helps set up your next turn. Since he has built in immunity from targeting and destruction, the more common method of clearing him is to just attack over him, hence that effect.
Ngl, part of the fun of these videos is seeing if the card you left actually made it into the final video.
I was one of the people that put endmyion and funnily enough I have won by using the battle destruction effect to search raigeki. There are alot of funny targets you can grab off endymion, like pot of desires, raigeki, DRNM, monster reborn, feather duster but playing random barely searchable one ofs is not a good idea, especially in a deck where you need as many spammable spells as possible. I think I've had more times where my opponent has just sent to the GY or banished my endmyion than actually being able to activate the effect.
The effect came up a lot for me, since some times you were just one spell away from breaking their board/needed something to set up for their turn 3.
6:02
There are actually a few reasons Batterymen would want to do this. If Solar becomes AA, he can count as a fourth instance, boosting them to 4000 Atk or Def each. Likewise for C's Machine buffing effect. Or, he can adjust his name for the tribute summon of Super-Electromagnetic Voltech Dragon, being able to give it any of its' effects you might want it to have. Now, are any of these GOOD uses? No. But he does have at least some feasible reason as to why he'd change his name.
I mean for some of the anime cards, it's usually the good effect that's the bonus effect; because there's always cards in an anime deck that aren't...good, but they usually still have to print (especially if it's a first wave). But sometimes they'll buff those cards if they're feeling nice/want the new deck to sell. So for example with Kepler, they saw a card that just bounces your own cards and said "okay, we have to let this thing do what it says it does, BUT, we are free to give it a good effect you can use instead, such as a search."
Flower Cardian Moonflower Viewing can draw a card. If you draw a flower Cardian monster you can special it ignoring conditions.
And the special summoned mister can attack directly this turn.
Despite playing cardians for years, I have never used this effect
That cyber dragon nova effect to boost its atk is fairly well known, its how cydra do the standard sieger nova otk. What I find people get caught out by more often is the fact that nova gets its special a fusion monster effect even if its summon is negated because it has the clause "in your possession", not "that you control".
2:18 I used that effect on rare occasion, it might be worth occasionaly to put some high level body for synchro plays
MBT Reading Nova's second effect: No way this is real...
Cyber Dragon players using the second effect by mistake: I wish it wasn't...
3:26 Hey! I use that effect so often and it wins me games because Spell Power Mastery offers me a backup plan.
Yes, CD nova has that +2100ATK effect. And every now an then some poor soul forgets that the float effect into Machine Fusion triggers when it's in your *possession* and sent to your GY by an opponent's card effect, meaning that if you Solemn the thing on summon it still floats. can confirm to have stolen games with both effects at least once each :D
my favorite part is three of these cards were 5ds cards with the "secret effect" being a prominent part of the user's strat (lua would ALWAYS activate power tool dragon's protection, aki almost always used the battle switch effect, and crow hogan ABSOLUTELY used that blackwing tuner to great effect). the rest were big huh, i didn't know that was on the card.
Chronograph Sorcerer's effect to fusion summon Z-ARC will never not be funny to me. I know that Astrograph summons Z-ARC in the Arc V anime, but it is hilarious that they printed that effect TWICE.
Redundant cards were often replacements, after banning.
@@wind64a39 right, but Chronograph and Astrograph came out at the same time.
@@nebbythewhale6450 Yea, and they did it for both because they were basically evolutions of Stargazer and Timegazer, while also made to be similar
Just wanna point two effects out that I realized in the last week or so
First for hieratic seal. Most people probably know that it can tribute any monster but I never knew that it can tribute monsters from the hand to activate its effect.
Second one is basal rose shoot. Did you know that it has an second effect that if it's destroyed by an card effect while set it reborn one like in the first effect the only difference is that you can also special one that is banished.
Raidraptor Ultimate Falcon is a towers that during the end phase can either reduce your opponent's monsters attack by 1000 or burn them for 1000 damage if the control no monsters, so long as it has an xyz material...
And then a year later i learned it has a detach effect, that basically makes it dark ruler no more on legs, but still able to do max damage
Junk Speeder's second effect: When an attack is declared involving this card that was Synchro Summoned this turn and another monster: You can make this card's ATK become double its original ATK until the end of this turn
Must come up all the time. Probably in the same gamestate, where “Stardust Charge Warrior” attacks all special summoned monsters.
O-lion can banish to summon another mecha phantom beast from hand. I just learn it today.
People always forget the effects of Raidraptor Ultimate Falcon that let you detach a material to completely lock down your opponent for the entire turn as well as the effect to decrease attack or burn your opponent if it had a Raidraptor XYZ material because most people only bring it out with Waking the Dragon.
Kauwloon does not only activate a Virtual World Gate, but also have additional effects if you already controlled others before.
I like how SV is the easiest of the 6 SV monsters to summon but the most broken. Perfectly balance.
To be fair the other 2 in the ED are also nuts. SV is perfectly fine if a certain bird wasn't literally invented to cause issues with effect copiers.
I forgot to put the "SK" in SKVD, my bad
I remember before Traptrix got their structure deck and people weren't paying attention to them, Imperm Sera would happen all the fucking time because apparently they wrote the immunity to Trap effects on the back of the card. And it still happens to this day on occasion.
My favourite one is Block Dragon's protection effect
I remember I asked a ruling question about that in the Project Ignis Discord, and I shit you not, one of the devs replied with "wow, I didn't even know that thing had a protection effect"
