Honestly I just thought it was a bootstrap paradox when I was little, I still think that the Stampey timeline is a closed loop where instead of new timelines he’s just dropped to an earlier point in his original timeline. I do kinda wanna rewatch the series now and maybe make my own theories about it just to say goodbye
For anyone confused- in episode 92 when he was saved by his future self, it doesnt makes sense, because in order for stampy to continue living to become future stampy, he mustbe saved by his future self. But his future self shouldnt exist because without his future self he wouldve been killed by hitthetarget, and would not have been able to become his future self to save his past self. Therefore there must be two separate timelines, one where stampy does not get killed by hitthe target and does not get saved by another stampy and later becomes the stampy that saves himself, and one where stampy was saved by his alternate timeline self and then saves a new THIRD timeline self that isnt him or the one he got saved by in the first place. This cycle could technically continue forever but hey, thats just a theory!
Yeah the entire time this was an alternate universe. This means that lee bear is still in the original timeline probably taking the place of stampy after his absence. (Ofc this is just a theroy and irl situation still ruined it :-:)
Interesting interpretation, but we're pretty much 100% sure that Stampy's intent when making the video was the boot-strap paradox. My favorite episode of Doctor Who, Season 3 Episode 10 "Blink," is a great example of this.

I didn't understand the theory until someone said it was a bootstraps paradox. Now I understand. Stampy couldn't have survived to do any time travel if he wasn't saved by his future self (who survived the attack by Hit the Target) who time travelled.
I see it as a closed timeloop, similar to Harry Potter Prisoner of Azkaban. Stampy timetravels back into his own timeline, so he was always part of events. He will always get sent back in time and he’ll always return back safely
while this is an interesting idea, I'm pretty sure that like another comment said, this is just a Bootstrap Paradox Stampy gets to episode 100, travels back to before episode 1, freezes himself, & helps his past self in the past self's episode 92. Then his past self gets to episode 100, travels back, and so on. I think there may have just never been an original Stampy that was never helped by his future self in episode 92

Multiple accounts with the same skin, with his commentary dubbed over. The rocket ship/ship things would just be him flying in creative mode with a cutout of his 'pilot's seat' POV overlayed on the video in editing software.
Omg Stampy's the goat of minecraft let's plays. I remember being obsessed with his minecraft let's plays and other minecraft series (like Building Time) as well as his Terraria series. I remember the time travel episode and being blown away by the time travel stuff. Always had me wondering how it was done lol. This came off as very rambly and incoherent but yeah
This is making me want to watch all of Stampy's lovely world because I vividly remember episode 100 being the first video I ever watched due to it just showing up on my recommended feed.
I’m a little confused - I understand what you mean but I believe we have to look at this type of time travel differently. This could Harry Potter time travel, where instead of creating a new timeline you just go back to the past of the same one, never being able to create a new timeline and instead everything you do is what happened in the original timeline you came from. It’s seen in Harry Potter. Edit : forgot to say, great video it was a really fun time and I’m excited to see more content
That was also the same case with Stampy's educational show(Wonder Quest) having a similar concept involving only one timeline and some time rifts. The only difference is that the show was made years after the Cat from the Future was made.
This is how I see it. This version of time travel is called the Bootstrap paradox. Essentially meaning that is it a loop where the person will always go back in time and replace their "future" versions of themselves when they go back in time. One time line with a loop in the middle of it
It's not alternate timelines, it's a paradox. Timelines are where things play out differently but throughout episode 92 & 100 we see only one series of events unfolding. There's paradoxes and time travel, but no alternate timelines.
This was the first episode I ever watched of the series. Which meant the reference to episode 92 went completely over my head. But I still enjoyed the time-travel aspect and even pointed out future Stampy watching present Stampy at the beginning of the video, very very nostalgic you making a whole analysis of it 😊

Tbh I think they should do a big game-changer for the finale. Something like: -Stampy goes back in time to the first episode, creating a full circle. -Stampy goes through the Minecraft multiverse, going to places like the DanTDM base, Hermitcraft, old tutorial. -(This can happen as an addition to any of these) the OG helpers ‘return’ (LFORLEE not as the original actor)

Is there anyway you can connect this to Wonder Quest? The portal from that isn’t seen in the actual lovely world in the videos but does exist in the Wonder Quest Universe. Perhaps the prime timeline is occupied by another version of Stampy, and the events of wonder quest happen in that one.

(I might be 1 minute into the video, but I’ve been watching for like 3-4 minutes) I’ve also never heard of Stampy or any of this, although I’ve watched Minecraft stuff for like 10 years.
Im glad i clicked on dis video from the short. Also it could be a forever loop. An infinite loop of 2 stampys. In the beginning, future takes over as our pov stampy while stampy does everything that future stampy does at the beginning of the timeline.
It’s typical Futurama time machine rules, you can’t go back and change things as you know them, you always went back and changed history. Like how Fry has always been his own grandfather, if he hadn’t been, he couldn’t have existed in the first place. Or a more recent example (spoiler): in the latest Christmas episodes, Professor Farnsworth creates a backwards time machine to go back to when robot Santa was created and fix his upside down naughty/nice indicator. But as it turns out, it was only upside down because he traveled back in time and flipped it. You travel back to fix a problem, but there’s nothing you can do unless it was already fixed in your timeline. You’re working with non-linear time shenanigans here.
