Can't believe it. Chad is living like a Vietnamese in Vietnam. That's something I usually do in a day, just scavening around searching for strange, cheap, trending food to eat for the day.
When you live in Vietnam for a long time, you realize that Vietnam not only has Pho but dozens of different types of extremely delicious noodles soup too! I hope the foreigners will know more the noodles soup in Vietnam by your channel.
Surprisingly what I do like about your video this time is the drive parts, not about the food usually on other videos. The way you passing thru corners and streets makes me feel reminiscent back in the days I was in Hanoi ( I mean the crowded scene in HCMC pretty the same ). Thank you and congrats on 100.000 subs, keep the good work Chad !
This vlogging style is awesome u get to see the hustle and bustle of the city when ur riding around. Also with unique commentary from ur pov and what ur seeing. More of these please! Also bring Tri along with u! Very cool personality
Though being on the bike with you was terrifying, I loved going through the city from this view with your narrative. What a fabulous addition to your channel. Cannot wait for more! ❤ Congrats on 100k! 🎉
Thank you for bringing back my memories. I grew up in Ho Chi Minh City my whole life and move to US 12 years ago. Looking at your driving from Q7 to Q4 then Q1 made me really homesick! Thank you for the video! Wish you and your family the best!
Your family is sooo awesome... I'm vietnamese- immigrated to socal when I was 12, married a Mexican American woman. My kids are mixed like your kids. Your kids super cute !
Absolutely agree with you, Chef about Bun Bo Hue.. can't wait to come back again next year and probably going to have to book a place to experience your food Chad.. ps I am loving this point of view of when you're, driving as you are weaving in and through the traffic like that..
Woohoo, 100k!! 🎉 So happy for you. Here comes 1 million! You deserve all the support. Love your content. High quality videos and Vietnamese food! Can't go wrong!
Love to see my hometown through your eyes Chad. I didn’t get to ride the scooter much before I left Vietnam, but it was so fun and low key sketchy but I loved it. Thank you for showing the daily hustle and bustle and delicious Vietnamese cuisine. Love that you have much respect for my culture. ❤
phở is more approachable by the westerners mainly bc it was originally a fusion dish, bún bò may be less popular due to the lemongrass, strong flavor & aroma.
Turtle lake or turtle fountain has a real stone turtle in the 1965. But when the French came in and bombed, the stone turtle was broken so they dont rebuild it till this day
@@yeschefwithchadkubanoff your addition of the driving situation, albeit scary at times, was also downright beautiful at times. Well done, I very much enjoy your content. Love from Michigan!
I also loved that ramp into D4 when I lived at The Gold View. Giving me nostalgia from my first ever motorbike ride. Was hoping I could catch a glimpse of the building when you passed by but you edited it out! To be fair though, that stretch of BVD is quite boring 😂
hey chad! congrats on 100k. ive been really enjoying these type of driving vlogs. streets can look so similar sometimes and id love to drive around saigon someday with a motorbike but im too scared to
I think when I first followed this channel - it had around 15k subs or something. Keep up the good work! My family is from Hue but I prefer bun Bo hue from saigon too. It’s just so much better with all the rau muống and fresh herbs and less of the mắm ruốc smell.
You've gotta try the Bún Bò Nhiêu Tứ at 25 Nhiêu Tứ street in Phú Nhuận district. The broth is good, the special dish with Sườn Sụn is really amazing too.
Oh my gheee. Your viet is better than mines. I can barely speak my native tough. 😭😭😭😭😭. Ty for showing such spectacular dishes. Some I haven’t even had
I like the way you said "cam on nha" every time you pick up/ receive something from someone. I also did it every time I visited Vietnam but I believe it's not very common in my home country. We often do that to our senior family members/ relatives or guests but not to everyone and for some of the service, we seem to take it for granted and not consider them as something that we should say "thank you" to but I hope people be nicer to each other just like here in the West.
Watching this from Philly (Nolibs) and totally wishing I was there. I miss all the sounds, smells, hustle and bustle of Saigon. And yes, BBH is one of my all time favorite soups.
Chad here’s a fun topic. It’ll keep us you busy for sure. Somewhat live tier list for pho, bun Bo, etc. not just snack. Although that was a fun mini series.
Can you do a Vietnamese Dumpling Tier list? Like Banh Bot Loc, Banh Gio, Banh Bao, anything wrapped in banana leaf and everything in between (dessert dumplings etc).
One video I’d love to see is how to prepare for the culture change coming to visit from the West to Vietnam… that initial mystery and fear can be hard to overcome to get on a plane to Vietnam.
Near the Bun Bo Gio Chia, there is Bun Bo 45 on Street 45, open in the morning, they are nice as well, soup is sweet. They are special with the mọc in Bun Bo. a very different taste Bun Bo with mọc.
I used to live in District 7 around the area where you got the last bowl. When you were driving around the streets of D7, it was so nostalgic to me. I moved to a different city now, but i always miss it. Your vlogs of just going around doing nothing/searching for food are so calming, and it reminds me of when i used to do the same. Sometimes, I would be so deep into the bike journey that I forget to get food when I come home 😅 I hope I can return to Saigon soon because i miss it so much. ❤
Congrats on your 100K, Chad. Noticed that none of those 3 places had any blood cubes. You asked not to put them in? Love Bun Bo Hue, especially in Da Lat and Hue.
Good vid Chad, I enjoyed this new content of driving around Saigon before going to the actual food place. I can see some of the places I ate at whilst you were driving around like Pho Thin and Banh Cuon Hai Nam, which reminds me of my time in VN.
Chad! We lived in D3 too!! Close to the bridge coming from D4 near Lam Van Ben. Could you please do a your favorite Bo Kho place? I have a recommendation that you neeed to try and to feature. I swear my husband and I ate there twice a week the year we lived there. 46/2 Đ. Lâm Văn Bền, Tân Thuận Tây, Quận 7, Hồ Chí Minh, Vietnam Quán Phở & Bún Bò - Oanh. Fantastic video! Really liked that you included the driving. Got any general advice for first time drivers in saigon? Me and my girlfriend are heading there in about a month, and we are considering renting bikes.
Just practice on less crowded streets first until you get used to riding. My American husband and I went back to Vietnam in November 2023 and again April 2024. The first time, he didn’t dare riding in Saigon but he rode in Danang. The second time, he got used to riding so he rode every where in Saigon and Dalat. One thing that helped him a lot was that I navigated him through all the routes with Google map. Since I used to live in Saigon (left for the US in 1999), I kind still remember the main streets and it helped as well.
