There will never be another game like this one from Nintendo. This game holds a special place in my heart!
The La Mancha thing is also a heavy reference to Don Quixote. And the use of a Dulcimer is a possible reference to the name Quixote gives to his love obsession, Dulcinea. Quixote is where we get the term "Tilting at Windmills" from, as in the novel he mistakes one for a giant and attacks it.

I dunno, I had a lot more enjoyment from Color Splash than PM64, though that's likely more because the writing than gameplay. TTYD and SPM are my favorites as far as Paper Mario games are concerned.

I recently replayed this game, like about 2 weeks ago - and WOW it holds up. Soooo damn good, really wish we could get a sequel in this vein rather than SS and CS.

9:40 if you pay close attention to the aqua fuzzy's animation, you can see a little bubble pops out of the sprite and fades away immediately after, you can see happened in the video next to its right eye right after the star points in the background disappear so it is obviously part of the animation. Interesting detail since is too small to see normally without that huge zoom in, i wonder if is some sort of implication that perhaps there may have been some underwater battle during the jungle area when riding Sushie at one point in development, just like how it was in Super Mario RPG with the Cheep Cheeps, but if that is the case then is as mentioned and they wound up replaced by the yellow ones instead.
Or perhaps i'm thinking to much about it and all the fuzzies may already share that tiny animation detail...

I'm surprised that I can't say the same. I often make those kinds of mistakes, but the pacifier always seemed obvious to me.
You know what made the first 3 games great? They barely focused on the fact that the game has "Paper" in its name and focused on world-building, character design, gameplay, and story telling. I can only think of two instances in the first trilogy where they implemented the fact the game is made of paper: the into to Paper Mario (Bowser taped Kammy to the page where the Star Rod was) and the paper abilities in TTYD. Other than that there really wasn't any point in calling it Paper Mario.
While I have a bit of hope for Origami King, I just hope they get rid of the stupid ammo-based move system and partners return like it was shown in the Chinese trailer (Wouldn't be surprised if it was taken down because that was an old version of the game, and the final release got rid of partners).
Did anyone else notice that the abbreviation for Did You Know Gaming, DYKG, could also be an abbreviation for Donkey Kong?

This is my favorite game of all time. I can't really put it into words, I just never get sick of it. Stryder7x is such a blessing. A wealth of info and quality content on a game most people blow by on their way to Thousand Year Door.

8:00 The feather item in Mario Kart has for shortcuts. You could shave off so much time by popping over large portions of track. Especially in the snes version. I loved getting feathers.

Paper Mario's art style is the best in the series. Thousand Year Door was too shaded and polished looking. This looked exactly like I think they intended and holds up soooo well!

I'll get shit for this, but I could never get into the N64 and GameCube versions of Paper Mario. I however adore Super Paper Mario for the Wii. A masterpiece IMO.

Paper Mario 64 was my first rpg I ever played, so its for me the best of the series, but I like both TTYD and Super as well
