Awesome to see your getting another Stanger. The only thing that I would say, the freaking water pump keeps going out on mine, in less than a year! And I don't even drive crazy and only 10 minutes from my job. Cylinder Head temperature reaches 204*F in ten minutes from work to home driving conservatively. Looking into getting a more reliable aftermarket water pump. I heard Gates makes a good one.

I LOVE MUSTANGS!!! But let me explain something to you about reliability....
I have a 2005 Toyota Corolla S with 300,000 miles. Still runs like it was NEW. It has never had a single problem, or broken down once. EVERY SINGLE time I have turned the key, it has started, and ran. The only things I have replaced are normal service items over time. Brakes, belts, fluid flushes, spark plugs, new battery(at 10yrs), and a fan belt tension arm at 300,000miles. Seriously. It's a FREAKISHLY reliable car.
When you want to talk about reliability, you need to put some serious miles on a car. If a car can't go 100,000mi without a water pump going bad, an A/C compressor dying, or a fluid leak developing, it really isn't all that reliable. Such is the nature of Mustangs, and most Amercian pony cars. Euros are even worse.
That said, I still love the Mustang. One of the funnest, and most practical of all pony cars. They really are a star in the minds of your average blue collar Joe that wants affordable performance. But please, if you want to talk about reliability, make sure you compare it with other similar cars like the Camaro, Challeneger, and some of the Eeros like Audi S5 or BMW 435i. In those cases the Mustang can be a little more reliable, but nothing compared to cars that would laugh at your mere mention of the word.

You also have to take into consideration how hard you drive your car. Like red lining and taking it to the track every other weekend. pushing it to the limit. That's the beauty of it, it's daily and a race car on the weekends. But from what I heard those Corolla are bulletproof when it comes to daily driving 💪

@@3SevenStangVids Yeah, once that "Pursuit Mode" kicks in, it launches you forward. 2nd gear and up, she's fire.
I got the Utility (Explorer). True story, there's a sharp turning exit that has a 1 mile approach that all the Porches & BMW's pass me (even when I'm doing the legal limit of 65mph) on the straight.
But when we get to the curve itself, they ALL slow down and I blow by them like they're standing still in time and always look over to see the shock on their faces that they're getting passed by an SUV! 😂
Sometimes, there are a couple of New York State Troopers parked on the side and whenever they've seen me do that, they laugh and give me the thumbs up.
That thing stays planted at speed.
By the time those princesses catch up to me on the straight onto the next highway, I'm so far ahead of them, that they have to double time to catch up.
It just goes to show that in the real world, with turns and bumps on imperfect roads, it's not straight line performance that wins the race (not that I ever race🙄).
      Have fun.

Another common issue with the 3.7 is the exhaust manifold could crack. Many police departments who has Ford Explorers in their fleet had carbon monoxide issues because of the exhaust manifold. The 3.7 Cyclone V6 in your Mustang is also used in the Ford Police Interceptor Utility (Explorer) and the Ford Police Interceptor Sedan (Taurus). Unlike the Mustang, F-150, Transit, and Expedition, the Taurus and Explorer has an internal water pump that costs a small fortune when it blows up. Some Ford Transits also have carbon monoxide leaking to the cabin. It’s only time when more complaints pile up and lawsuits against Ford again.

The Ford Explorer Police Interceptor and the Ford Taurus Police Interceptor uses the same 3.7 Cyclone V6 as the Mustang. The only difference is that they are not reliable as the ones in the Mustang and F-150 because of water pumps driven by the timing chain in transverse applications.

I used to believe my 2012 3.7 Mustang is a reliable car. After 5 years/30, 000 miles of ownership, the water pump broke down, the alternator broke down, the lower control arms preference poorly and one of the pulleys is making a whining noise. She is my weekend car, but it seems She has more issues than my daily drive 2013 Sentra. According to Scotty Kilmer, this Sentra is the worst vehicle that you can find on the surface of the earth. However, I love my Mustang a lot. I would keep her for a really long time until I have to give her away. I work on my Mustang. She is a little fast than before and handles much better than the first day I own it. It usually will not happen if you have an extremely reliable car, because those shitty parts refuse to break down. You know they are about to die, but they don't, just like the whole car. Never die, but never live either.

    Why do you prefer a 3.7 over a 5.0

Most people have 5.0's and don't end up even modding them because of their current income/finances. The 3.7 in my opinion is a better daily driver, cheaper payments, way cheaper on gas, way way cheaper on insurance. Hell my neighbor down the street had a 2015 GT race red 50th anniversary edition S550, ended up getting laid off and got his car re-possessed. Stay humble I always say hahaha

Drake M my older brother was barely able to get axle backs for his 5.0 and I have all this crap done to my 3.7. Those payments and insurance too is insane for the v8

I've raced 2 Coyotes with my 3.7. They are not that much faster depending on your options. My car has an aluminum driveshaft and coilovers. From a dig the s550 I raced it was inconclusive. I got beat from a roll but the coyote did not pull all that hard on me. My car weighs about 3350. A coyote weighs quite the bit more.

Honestly I would take a 5.0 over a 3.7 any day , a 3.7 will never sound as good as a coyote v8. Plus saying 3.7’s beats 5.0’s, the 5.0’s are usually stock add couple bolts on to the 5.0 the 3.7 ain’t gonna win.

Jose Lopez a 5.0 isn’t affordable for me right now. If I made the decision to trade in my 3.7 right now I wouldn’t ever have spare money to mod it. I would literally be driving a stock 5.0 forever but when I can afford one I’m definitely going to get one. I too want that v8 sound that I’ll never have with my 3.7
