You can pick up a 2019 ecoboost brand new for $23k or less right now. A new civic hatchback is $21k. People aren't seeing this car for what it is. The ecoboost is the daily driver that saves your v8 from high mileage. The v8 is the weekend warrior. You mod the v8, you daily beat the stock ecoboost.
This thing is amazing. Handling and acceleration when needed to get out of sticky situations, amazing mpg even when beating on it, and overall the better looking car that has a 4cyl in it. Drive one for a daily, and drive it 100 miles a day. I promise you'll fall in love with the EcoBoost. I know I have.
Do not mod the EcoBoost engine though. Leave it alone. Let it do its daily responsibilities. You can change out exhaust, wheels, suspension, bodywork, etc, but leave the engine alone. Keep in mind this is your daily. She is your guardian. She protects your weekend warrior who is modded out and 500+ hp.

I just upgraded from a 2018 Mustang EcoBoost to a 2022 Mustang GT.
I am absolutely in love with my GT for OBVIOUS reasons, but man... the EcoBoost was a fun car, loved it very much. The 310HP was nothing to scoff at, it felt QUICK and the torque was nice. And I was getting 24MPG Hwy/city which was GREAT. Its such a solid car, and if anyone ever thinks about getting one, I will always recommend it.
You lose out on the sound of a naturally aspirated V8, but it still FEELS nice, and honestly, I do love the turbo whistle and opening the blowoff valve and getting that "WOOSH" sound was so so so satisfying. A different kind of satisfying from the roaring engine of a V8.
    EcoBoosts are awesome.

It makes a lot of sense for us in Europe to heed this advice. Because distances we travel here are so much smaller than you do in the States (90,000+ miles on a 3 year old car is an enormous amount by our standards), any vehicle you recommend has to be worth serious consideration. If a car can take that kind of use (especially with the gas you have, which is often diluted with ethanol - that's not allowed here), it should find life a breeze over here.

Sounded like a proper sports car, I would never have guessed it was a 4 with the exhaust and engine sounds. With the top down there was very little wind even at 70. Ride was not rough, tons of toys to play with like adjustable steering feel, transmission was great, was really a good car, one that can be used as a daily driver easily.

The EcoBoost Mustang is a great car. I had a 2016 EB premium on a lease and another than the evaporator core breaking on it, (which affects nearly all 2015-2017 Mustangs), it was a great car. With 93k miles on it, I'm surprised this one hasn't had that evaporator core failure. When the lease ended I bought a used 2018 GT with the Performance Pack 1 on it and a 6 Speed Manual. It's a sweet car. With my commute around town/to work, I get 18 MPG in my GT... as opposed to 22 MPG in my older EcoBoost Mustang. Not that much worse for so much more power and noise. Any modern day Mustang is pretty cool, I just love the V8 though.

I appreciate your analysis of the EB Mustang. I have had one nearly 5 years (‘15), and the only non V8 I have ever owned (9 total). Guess what? It’s also the best one I ever owned and that includes
an ‘04 SVT Cobra, and ‘17 GT 350.
Why? You failed to mention that it’s the lightest motor Mustang and when combined with the Performance Package (that includes 4 piston front brakes); handling that is decidedly non Mustang in terms of turn in and fast transitions, yes better than a GT350 IMO.
I think the motor will be just as durable (stock) as any V8, why? Because it uses a very stout 5 main bearing bottom end (same as a V8) and it actually has a lower redline than the Coyote V8 and shorter piston stroke.
The real beauty of the EB is the street fun torque curve down low, and my average of 24 MPG. It honestly never fails to put a grin on my face. EB PP!

The headliner fell twice, the side panels fell apart, the soft touch pieces crumbled, the engine slipped a bearing due to a malfunctioning oil pump when I took a hard turn, needed to replace the engine, needed to replace the water pump, the DSG transmission wore out even though VW/Audi claim it's "bulletproof" so that had to be replaced. The suspension was starting to go right before I sold it, A/C was dead, all before 6-7 years and 52k miles. Absolutely piles of garbage.

I’ve had 2 Mustang GT’s. A 2009 & a 2011. Neither vehicle had any issues beyond standard maintenance. Nothing! Those V8’s are rock solid, and Ford builds a good car. Scotty is 100% correct here. I am an engineer and like over designed vehicles. I always buy V8 Mustangs.

my 2009 GT Premium mustang was 27000 dollars brand new off the lot. It's crazy how high mustangs have inflated in price. I will never buy another mustang due to the insane price gouging they do now. I still have my mustang GT and it runs like new with 130,000 miles on it. I haven's had any problems. just had my rear brakes done and fluid changes and thats it. Infact im still on my original front brakes and original belts

Hey, Scotty, love your videos! I have a 2015 Ecoboost Mustang that I took to the drag strip to see how those 310 ponies performed. Best run was 14.289 seconds at 96 mph. BUT, I paddle shifted it at just 5000 RPM. When I let the computer shift it, the points were 6500 and it ran 2 MPH less and a full 15 hundreds of a second SLOWER in ET. Conclusion, it ain't revving any higher, actually lower than the 5.0 GT! Keep up the good work, buddy!

Leaving out the fact Ford is #21 out of 32 companies in reliability. And Ford turns their back and look away every time a transmission fails on the assembly line. Even if their professionals warn them about it.
