yes it does. like Google didnt changed that much the Material You skin since Material You 1 in 2021. Samsung shoud have kept the Android 10 ui with more features, no ai and barely changing the ui.
I dont think you take on the split notifications is rly valid beacause at the end of the day if u preferred the previous combined layout you can still have it and also the side swipe between both makes it convinient to the point upu can just swipe down anywhere on tge screen followed by a side swipe
Clearly this dude didn't read the instructions. Its a beta and Samsung is looking for feedback. Why make a video complaining and not do what the beta was for and send the feeback and complaints to Samsung. The least he could have done was wait until the final One UI is released to start complaining. Video is definition of silly.
I do agree with many of your points here but we also should be appreciative of what Samsung has tried to do here. No phone is perfect and no UI is without things that could stand improving. To me, the animations and camera improvements are huge and the reason I keep coming back to Galaxy over Pixels is overall reliability and stability. Pixels are simply not stable in all areas to the point I trust it completely. If I have a Samsung phone, I know it'll work and an update won't brick the device. Pixels have bad speakers and also struggle with their modems, overheating, and battery life. Again, Samsung is more stable in these areas. I enjoy certain things about a Pixel like now playing but that's as much of a gimmick as Samsung's "now bar"(I hate the name too lol). Samsung can continue to improve things but I believe they're on the right track. I just wish these Android phone manufacturers would stop having a race to see who can copy the iPhone the most and fastest. One UI 7 is probably one of the biggest updates that Samsung has done and at least they're trying.
I get it, the problem is that those aren't issues on Pixels anymore for the most part. The Tensor G3 mostly resolved overheating, and battery life and modem performance has been excellent on the Tensor G4. My Pixel 9 Pro XL gets about the same screen on time as my Galaxy S24 Ultra. Samsung doesn't win by default anymore. It doesn't get a gold star for just being reliable, because the other manufacturers are coming.
@@DWtechfan i like these new widgets and animations, functionality and look forward to trying them out too…. You are correct in your comments regarding the smooth app transitions and Samsung apps in particular with optimisation. Stability, good heat control and overall device design make the Samsung range ideal for me. I am in the process of moving over from iOS back to Android after 9 years so I appreciate the granular personalisation. I use a Pixel 9A as a backup and hope (plan) to move to an S25U. Yes… overall I agree with your thoughts
@StevealiciousTech my brother has a Pixel 9 with the latest and greatest Tensor chip and he's had a few issues. Screen dimming on Netflix and he says calls to the ear are atrocious. Here's the thing, it takes a lot more than gimmick AI features or something like "now playing" to impress me. I don't use those things. What good are those things if any Pixel I've owned can't satisfactorily make a phone call? Sometimes the modem in my Pixel 6a doesn't send texts. AI will not get the gold star by default nor will gimmicks, a smartphone really needs to work well and be reliable. Samsung, to me, is far more dependable than any Pixel and the fact that even now they're still having issues means Google likely won't get it right.
@@DS9Section31 no phone is perfect but far too many people give Pixels a pass. Often, you'll see people say "I haven't had any problems that were reported". But, that dismisses a whole bunch of people who are having issues and Samsung doesn't have those same problems. No phone is perfect but I believe Samsung offers the complete package. I used to be an iPhone user but Apple is becoming as bad or worse than Pixel on having issues. Samsung phones just work and I'm a regular user who doesn't care about or use AI stuff. One UI 7 seems to solve the few problems that Samsung had and unlike Google or Apple who largely offer the same stuff each year, at least Samsung is trying. That gets lost on tech channels who cater to the audience who love AI but that junk is useless if your phone can't do basics well.
I wonder what would happen if Samsung makes a BlackJack reboot with the same housing as the BlackJack 2 from 2007 but with One UI 7 and a better camera.
OK okay. I am a S24 and Pixel 9 Pro XL and S23U owner. I almost ditched this fine Pixel for my S series again bc I missed OneUI after the week it is taking me to change over to Material UI. Well , I changed my mind. But one must give credit to MOST who like OneUI AL ready. And what do they say, Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. And is it ain't broke, don't fix. All this yet, I agree that it needs to be more innovative. But it is smooth.
I'm personally liking the beta and the visual changes of OneUI7. Hopefully they add a section to see battery health. Have you been noticing any battery drain on whatever device you're using the beta on? I feel like the battery drains faster on my S24+
The way this video is CLEARLY just straight up HATE to one ui 7. DO YOUR EXPLORATION MORE. LIKE... MOST HE MENTIONED IS REVERTEBLE. THIS IS BETA. IF YOU WANT TO CHANGE SOMETHING COMPLAIN IT TO SAMSUNG.
Now they made notifications worse by being able to see only one full notification at a time on the card instead of having the preview list of multiple notifications in a card This is how ios does it and even ios decided to add notification summaries so you have the multiple previews Samsung just decided to copy the useless parts of ios
Just bought a moto edge 2023 plus. 550 Canadian dollars. Brand new off their site. Not even close to possible to get anything like that with 8 gen 2 512gb ufs4 and what seems to be reliable phone from reviews. What manufacturer except lenovo aka moto or oneplus is offering anything comparable. I been using moto 5g stylus 2024 since october and it sold me on the upgrade.
the software is terrible. like they making it similar to others makes them easier to switch to other phones. and thr Apps Screen is much bether than the app drawer. like it peaked with Android 8 and stayed the same since. now Samsung replaced the best part they had. like instead of improving it by allowing to move the icons freeley to any place instead of stacking to the top left and adding gadgets support would have been a huge improvement. aslo the visuals shoud have remained the same as they were in Android 11. because keeping changing them makes android not mature. like Windows is mature because the ui isnt changing since 2020 and even then it was pretty similar to the ui we got in 2015 on Windows. and the OneUI meant a lot of stuf that its no longer the case. like i use Android with OneUI and Android 11 was the peak on OneUI Android. maybe Android 10 was bether but its your choise. at the end, Samsung has terrible software now. miss the days on Touchwiz Nature when it improved instead of getting worse by each release. Samsung forces me to stay on Android 11 because of that path
I still think Samsung has work left to do!

Samsung is looking for feedback, so I gave my feedback. Now you are getting it.
You'll get the camera stuff down Steve. Great content. Merry Christmas

Bravo, Hunter. Well put

A long wait for the stable official update.
Is that what all the fuss has been about? Samsung are taking us for fools
Is the new one ui 7 less resource intensive?

I agree with you tbh, I really do not like these changes, especially the split notification and control center, the ICONS just ughh
They should add individual app lock

Incremental improvement is no way to stay ahead of the pack. I want innovation.
Me too!
Hilarious but informative
I appreciate it!
I'm turning off the control shade immediately, we had that on tablet for a while never used it because it sucks

Right...like in a video...complaining about it...and saying Samsung needs to change. Now you're getting the idea.

the dynamic island is copying Samsung's pop-up notifications just in a more annoying way

You're a Knicks fan and a Red Sox fan? That's kinda unusual.
And Dolphins and NY Rangers...so...
I hate the translucency I'm turning it off immediately
OneUI 7 ❌
Galaxy OS✅
